Portland Sheraton At Sable Oaks

The room was clean, completely free of highway and airplane noise, and the atmosphere was great. It's a fantastic hotel but some flaws hold it back. The elevators are slow and the stairs don't exit to the lobby. The heated swimming pool was nice, but it would randomly close during pool hours. We planned to swim a bit after breakfast before we check out but it was closed by management. No idea why and there was no indication of service. The worst thing is the parking fee. It is a daily $16.20 ($15 + $1.2 service fee). It is the only hotel in the area charging this fee. There is nothing special about the parking lot. The holiday inn Express that shares the sable oaks office park and has the same looking parking lot does not charge. There are 3 other marriots within a 5 min drive that does not charge. It just leaves the guests with the feeling that they are being nickle and dimes.

Conveniently located across from the Maine Mall the property is old but does not feel dated. Common areas are clean rooms are a bit small but nicely appointed. Nice recognition for titanium Elite members including free breakfast and lounge. The free breakfast is table service via menu which is nice.

Called to book a reservation, and the agent was extremely sarcastic and condescending while I was asking questions about inconsistencies on the website. I was trying to clarify what was included at checkout, as well as concerns I had based on some reviews I had read. Some of the items the agent described as being included in the package did not appear to be included in the package shown online. I explained that I simply wanted clarification because I did not want any surprises upon arrival at the hotel. When I asked to speak with a manager, I explained that I felt I needed to speak with someone who may have a better understanding of the packages. The agent initially refused. I continued to state that I wished to speak with a manager because I no longer felt comfortable completing the reservation with him. He then told me there would be a long wait and placed me on hold. I was on hold for approximately five minutes and I had already stated that I did not mind waiting to speak with someone else. However, the call was disconnected shortly after. I attempted to call reservations again afterward, but my calls went unanswered. If this is the first line of service, I cannot imagine what the service would be like upon arrival at the hotel. I will be taking my business elsewhere, as hospitality does not appear to be a priority based on my experience with the reservations department.

We had such a wonderful stay at this hotel! The landscaping and grounds were absolutely beautiful and so well maintained. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and very welcoming. Although we didn’t get a chance to eat at the restaurant, it looked beautiful, warm, and very inviting. The indoor pool and fitness center was also nice. What truly made our stay special was the friendly and accommodating staff who made us feel right at home. We would definitely recommend this hotel and look forward to visiting again! Great location 10 minutes from old port. 1 minute from the mall .
