Itinerary
Opened for business in 2012 and fast becoming one of the coolest places on Mahé, Eden Island has a luxury hotel, a yacht marina, the east coast's best bars, good restaurants and a modern shopping mall.
The Sainte Anne Marine Park was created in 1973 for the preservation of wildlife, the first of its kind in the Indian Ocean. There is much to see in the Ste. Anne Marine National Park, which is set amid dazzling turquoise waters and is thus, a perfect snorkelling spot. Situated about 5km from the main island of Mahé, this picturesque Marine Park comprises 6 islands just off the coast of Mahe. These islands include Ste Anne, Ile Moyenne, Ile Ronde, Ile Longue, Ile Cachee and Ile aux Cerfs. It also has one of the largest areas of "seagrass meadows" in the Seychelles.
Sainte Anne Island is the largest of Sainte Anne Marine National Park’s eight islands, and it is full of stunning beaches. Ste.Anne island is the site of the first French settlement in 1770, a courageous undertaking as the island was surrounded by swamps teeming with crocodiles. Dominated by a hill rising to 246m and surrounded by thick tropical vegetation, Ste.Anne served as a base for the Royal Marines (during World War II), who assured the defense of Victoria, the capital of Seychelles. In the early decades of the 19th century it was also the base for whaling activity in the Seychelles.
Cerf Island is the second largest island in this Marine Park. Named after the frigate “Le Cerf” commanded by Corneille Nicolas Morphey, who took possession of the Seychelles in the name of the King of France in 1756. Lush vegetation, shallow water and beautiful reefs ensure superb snorkeling, swimming and scuba diving.
Moyenne Island just under half a kilometer long is privately owned. Amongst the lush vegetation of this wonderful tropical garden are the remains of early settler’s homes, pirates’ graves and a small thatched chapel.
This small rocky island The reefs and lagoons of the island offers a spectacular underwater world for exploration. Green sea turtles live on the very edges of the coral reefs, and they sometimes venture closer to the island. There are butterfly fish, eagle rays, moray eels and many other species of fish.
The tiny island is also known as Isle Cachée island. The name of the island in French means "hidden", and as its name suggests it appears ‘hidden’ either behind Cerf or appear to be part of Cerf Island. It is also rumoured that pirates once buried some of their stolen treasure on Isle Cachée and is classified as a nature reserve. The island has an area of 0.022 km², and it is a nesting site for seabirds.

Right on time, which was appreciated a lot. The sub marine experience was short, 20 mins, fhe other part of the 1 hour was to and from.
Overall great experience. The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is that no one mentioned or offered life jackets to anyone. We had folks that did not know swimming in our group and we would have felt safer with life jackets on when going over deep water standing on a submarine where it is easy to fall off.
A great way to spend an hour or two in your itinerary. Organized and really beautiful to discover underwater without getting wet! The staff are very welcoming. Im glad to discover this activity before heading to the airport.
Very efficient. It was neat to go under and see the wonderful marine life. Schools of fish were everywhere. When finished, we were at the mall with great restaurants and an atm.
If not going for snorkeling then it's a must try experience , 1 hour ride is wonderful specially 20-30 mins down the sea
Guide was very knowledgeable and very helpful
Nice if you're tight on time and have no time for the proper national marine park tour. A bit short but nonetheless worth it Those with kids will enjoy it
It was great. The tour was professionally handled by trained guides and we enjoyed every part of it.
It was a nice experience,, the people that work there were very helpful. I would recommend it to my friends.
My wife and I had a great time. We saw lots of fishes. The staff was extremely friendly and offered to take pictures for us. It is a must do activity if you are in Mahe. Highly recommended.

It was an amazing experience 😍 We saw many kinds of fish there The crew was very nice 😊 My 2 years daughter had to much fun time
The lady at office was absolutely amazing. Rushan apologize if miss spelt her name. That screw was amazing on 10th October at 11am. We thank you for the most beautiful experience and arrangements for the excursion on short notice. You guys are absolutely fantastic keep up the great work!
Ok if cannot snorkel or dive but when we went mid September. Visibility was poor 10m or so. And unless the fish swam close to the windows you could not see colours clearly. 100s of small black and white fish which are fed bread but the others rarely come close enough. 1 hr trip 40 min travel to and from reef 20 mins at the reef.
Great trip, friendly staff, very informative guide who pointed out + explained in detail - I would highly recommended this experience!
The staff were warm and welcoming. Total experience was 100/100. I recommend this for anyone visiting the Seychelles.
The ride was nice and the people were friendly. Sights were as one might expect, though the coral is still recovering from the 2019 bleaching.
Great idea and reasonable way to spend an hour. All the staff were very friendly and our guide was very knowledgeable. Would highly recommend.
viewing time very limited, most of the time was spent to/from the reef but saw lots of marine wildlife
First off, the views? Legendary. I mean, picture seeing postcard islands, open sea, fish, coral, and other sea creatures all at once. I was overwhelmed with bliss. I half expected Aqua man to pop up.. Haaha! The staff? Knowledgeable and friendly; these guys knew their fishy business. The sub-marine itself? Clean and comfortable. So, yeah, I highly recommend this semi-submarine tour. It is a great way to experience the beauty of the underwater world.
Lets be honest the yoke looks a bit silly, but they lean into it and do the we're not just another glass bottom boat shtick very well. When you first go down and they close the hatch it is a bit of fun and you really do get the sense you're on a mini (and do mean small!) submarine. It was well run and good fun and worth every penny.
We booked this experience for my mom who doesn't snorkel or scuba. She loved seeing the fish and the coral from the underwater "cabin". The 3 star rating is because the trip was SO SHORT. We aren't sure why and we certainly expected more than 15 mins of viewing for the high cost which similar in price to a full day island tour!. It would have also been nice if the guide provided a bit of background and commentary on the history of the marine park and the fish etc etc. instead of talking on the phone and to the other crew. We didn't see anything that we hadn't seen snorkeling the day before which was disappointing. This would be a good experience for those who don't swim but would like to see a natural reef with fish but be aware that it is a very short trip.
I'm not doing any snorkeling or diving on this trip, but this tour makes it possible for me to go under the water and see corals and fish. It feels like being in an aquarium, the glass isn't super clear, but we get close to the fish and it's truly amazing. But I'm staying in Beau Vallon, had to take the bus to Victoria (bus terminal) and had to wait for an hour to get on the bus going pass Eden Island (the name of the bus stop is Eden Bridge), so the commute takes a LONG time if you use public transportation because they don't provide hotel pickup/dropoff. The tour is also short, we probably spent only 15 minutes under the water, and 10 minutes going to the Ocean, so the entire tour felt short. But the staff are very nice. Overall it's a great memorable experience.
The tour itself is very short in less than an hour. But overall it was a good experience. Where you go inside the semi submarine and get to view the different types of corals and fish. Overall it was good and you don't get wet at all.
One of the best experiences in Seychelles. I honestly cannot explain how great it was. Instructor and driver were highly professional. Entire trip will last 1.5 hours, so you won’t lose all your day. Enjoy!!!
We had the opportunity to spot a small shark.it was amazing. The day before this trip we were talking about how lovely it would be to see a shark.
This is a great activity to take as a family. Our four year old loved the entire experience. Sitting outside for the first 20 minutes or so on a beautiful day there is plenty to see after departing from Eden Island. Then the exciting part begins - descending into the "submarine" where you see the remnants of a reef and a decent amount of fish. There is enough to make this a memorable experience for all. We combined this trip with a visit to nearby Victoria so it made for a very nice day overall. Be aware that, after crossing the bridge onto Eden Island you will quickly turn left and then park your car in the parking area underneath the departure point. While you do have to pay for parking it is very convenient and easy to access. The guide and entire staff of the Semi-Sub were very professional and pleasant which mad for a very enjoyable time with our daughter. This is good value for a nice family experience.
We went out on a morning trip with Ramona and crew the 7th of August, and we had a wonderful time. For us, it was the perfect way to have an underwater experience together as a family (two adults and a young toddler). We saw many and different types of fish, which Ramona was keen on identifying. We were also lucky to see a green sea turtle. I would highly recommend this activity. Bonus info, the coffee we had in the cafe before boarding the semi-sub, was the best coffee we had on the Seychelles.
Friendly crew and amazing experience highly recommend. Nice my kids like the trip and the weather also amazing.. If you come to syechelle it’s a must to do
They took us to a nice reef and pointed out all of the fishes we saw, by species. Afterwards, there is a nice restaurant nearby that serves fantastic food.
Absolutely wonderful trip with great views of the wildlife. Our guide was very informative and pointed different bits out to us.
Nice combo of a short trip on deck out to the marine park, followed by underwater viewing. First time on this type of vessel. Basically like a boat on top and then a descent to an area below with basic seating and large viewing windows. Only holds around 10 people so not too cramped/busy. Whole experience was about 50 mins and we saw a fair number of different fish as well as the coral reef. Good opportunity too, to have a look around Eden Island which has some nice shops, cafes, and restaurants, although not very traditional Seychelles, more like somewhere you'd find in Florida. Note you need to pay for parking but only about 3 euro for couple hours.
Very short time below along the reef The submarine did not go to st. Anne, just to Cerf island. There were not many fish. There were not any special fish that you cannot see by snorkeling near any beach in Mahe.
The whole trip was wonderful. Romana and her crew were warm, friendly and informative. Once on the coral reef we saw lots of different species of fish and underwater plant life close up. Romana took time to identify and explain everything we saw including areas where the authorities are trying to regrow new coral. Thoroughly recommend the trip.
Great way of seeing the sea-life without getting wet! 😂 Well organised- not as cramped as expected and really good knowledgeable team
Had never been on a semi-sub before. Knowledgeable staff and able to go quite far into the reef. Great for kids
Great little trip to the marine park and the children and their friends absolutely loved it. The crew was super nice vand knowledgeable. A very informative trip and a perfect amount of time to view the marine park. The Semi sub cafe is a great opportunity to grab something before or after the trip. Thank you. Great day!
Great little trip. Our little boy loved it. Great views and the sub is really well set up. Perfect amount of time to view the marine park. Friendly crew. Lots of knowledge.
Great way to see the corals and variety of fish, without the work of snorkeling ;-) The staff are charismatic and super friendly! They also have a lovely little café right at the dock for brunch!
Worth it ✨ : would recommend to visit it in the morning , as you will see the under water world . ✔️
This one-hour ride is a must-do program at Mahe. The staff is amazing, the cost is fair, and the underwater world which you’ll see clearly worth it. We had the luck of seeing turtles and rays as well! Small colourful fishes are guaranteed.
Great activity to do with kids. Friendly staff, the tour is quite short (20 mins on the reef), but you get to see nice fish activity worth the ticket price.
Had an amazing experience, the crew was amazing, the weather was great.. the marine park view was stunning. Will definetly go back again and for sure will reccomend to others aswell 😍
The boys were over the moon! Amazing experience and interesting findings! The staff were so friendly and helpful. Definetly something to keep the children entertained while on Mahe. We will be back for the fishes we did not find on this first trip!.
The crew were very fine and provided informative commentary. The variety of fishes were amazing. We were even able to see a sea turtle. Highly recommended.
Excellent time to see under water fish. Everyone enjoyed it. The booking was well taken care of via email the day before. Try to do it at the end of the day.
Beautiful and unique experience that can be done more then one time with very lovely guide and team 👍
Myself and my friend came in from Nigeria and took the sub tour!!! It was amazing!!! The staff were friendly and took us videos and photos. We were the only ones on board , so they gave us some Nigerian music as we requested. The female guide was the best! Everyone on board were friendly, laughing and brought on the right energy for the trip. We loved loved loved it and danced our way off board. If I could give this more than a five star, I would. This is a MUST DO if you’re visiting Seychelles!!
