I’ve taken over 50 tours with Viator and this was hands down the worst of all. You are basically paying for transportation and a crappy lunch. From hotel pickup to arrival back in Victoria was more like 10 hours. There was little to no touring. We were basically dropped off at the beaches without any service. On Praslin, you had to pay to use the facilities. Chairs were an additional expense. The time on each beach was between 1-2 hours. There was no instruction, no help. Also, these tours are offered by all the hotels at about 40% cheaper. I was so disappointed. DO NOT BOOK THIS TRIP! ITS A SCAM. Wait until you get to the Seychelles and book directly through your hotel.
This was a truly beautiful experience and absolutely worth doing. Praslin was gorgeous, and we had the chance to visit one of the most beautiful beaches in the Seychelles. On La Digue, we discovered the world-famous Anse Source d’Argent, one of the most photographed beaches in the world, and it was every bit as spectacular as expected. We had a lot of time to explore the islands on each stop, including time to see the giant tortoises, discover the scenery, and really enjoy the atmosphere. It was a wonderful experience and one we are very happy we did despite the sea conditions. However, be prepared for a very rough sea! The crossing took around 1 hour and 20 minutes each way, plus another 15-minute boat ride between Praslin and La Digue. The conditions were extremely challenging. Almost everyone ended up feeling sick or vomiting, except those who had taken motion-sickness medication beforehand. I strongly recommend taking something before boarding, especially if you are prone to seasickness. Our young captain was genuinely impressive. He handled the boat with remarkable confidence and professionalism. I have rarely seen someone manage such difficult conditions so well. The lunch was nothing special, but it covered the essentials, and we certainly weren’t there for the food! Overall, an unforgettable day with incredible landscapes and a fantastic island experience. Highly recommended, but definitely prepare yourself for the roughness of the sea!
Brilliant day between the two islands with lovely beaches, forest, and a lovely lunch. Friendly and knowledgeable staff made the day so enjoyable and relaxing.
We booked with Ocean Blue our day trip to Praslin & La Digue. It's well organised and reliable. Staff is good, including their partners on the islands (e.g. the bicycle guy in La Digue brought back an iphone that we had left in the bicycle basket). I'm giving 4/5 because I felt the schedule was too rushed. You gotta show up at 6:45am but the boat doesn't depart until 7:30am. In Praslin, there is only time to see Anse Lazio (beautiful) but for no longer than 1 hour. Then onto La Digue where time only allowed us to see Anse Source d'Argent but not the other bays in the South of the island because at 3:00pm we had to be on our way back. And we arrived back in Mahé well before 5pm with still c.2 hours of daylight. If anything they could just gather folks at 8:00am or leave more time on the island
This shared day trip to Praslin & La Digue by Ocean Blue Travel Seychelles is an absolute must-do. The islands are genuinely stunning—photos do not do them justice. My biggest tip: The one-hour speed boat ride over to Praslin can be rough, and we had huge breakers on the day we went. Seriously, take a motion or sea sickness tablet beforehand, even if you don't usually need one. Once we were on La Digue, the organization was fantastic. Ocean Blue handled the lunch arrangements for the whole group, and they also took care of the cycle hire, which makes getting around the island so much easier and more fun. A great practical detail: If you visit Anse Source d’Argent (the famous beach), there are showers available right there, which is perfect for rinsing off the salt and sand before you leave. It’s all worth the effort. La Digue and Praslin are unbelievably beautiful, and my only regret is that one day is simply not enough time to enjoy everything.
Very pleasant experience and in very good price. You will see most important attractions on both islands. First in Praslin u will get to know some facts bout coco de mer and after that u will have 2 options forest or beach. I highly recommend going for the forest even tho it's paid ~35€per person (if u're like us who have been on every beach on Mahe). After bout 1.5h on the beach/forest u will head to La Digue. Here u will have the option to take bikes and explore on ur own after going to restaurant or take a tour bus. I definitelly recommend here going for the bikes. Incredible experience. U can stop and take pictures, go to restaurant, do everything u want to do including of course going to la union estate with anse d sergent beach (highly recommend). As bout the boat and taxi from hotel everything seems fine. Captaing is higly skilled and taxi driver is kind and very punctual. Definitelly recommend
Beautiful way to experience both islands. We had a wonderful day! The boat ride was rough, but we expected this so we took dramamine before. Highly recommend this tour.
It was an amazing tour, except for the boat ride because the sea was rough (though of course that's not the company's fault — it's just the time of year we did the tour). Daniela was the guide who accompanied us on this trip, and she was fantastic, explaining everything with great enthusiasm and friendliness. I would definitely do another tour with this company, but next time during a season when the sea is calmer, as I don’t quite have a sailor’s stomach 😅. Still, don’t let that stop you — the landscapes and beaches more than make up for it!
We recently did the Praslin & La Digue trip through Mamila Charter. Our main concern is the boat trip. I live on an island and frequently in boats and yachts and used to rough conditions, and have done for over 30 years. The day we travelled, the conditions were not too bad, but the boat was travelling too fast for tourists not used to travelling at speed. Passengers were panicked and lifting the seats to put on their life jackets on, others were vomiting and the majority were not comfortable. When speaking to the tour guide, it was clear that they had no intention to reduce the speed, saying that the passengers were fine, and that they had to go that fast as it would not be stable, it was clear that they had a prepared spiel saying that it was a mono hull, it was windy season etc. The boat crew have their agenda and will not veer from this to accommodate passengers. If you get seasick, then you will on this boat. Even though I am used to fast boats, sailing and don't get sea sick, it was not a pleasurable experience, where you can look around and take in the view. We noticed some passengers had not done the return journey. I would suggest that a better alternative is the passenger ferry, it is easy enough to get to the same beaches visited in the tour. The ferry is a much larger vessel, that would cope better with the crossing. When leaving Mahe harbour, the boat caught a buoy in the prop, which the crew cut and threw in the harbour, which is bad practice as it still there for another boat and you should inform the owner and offer to replace. The crew, completely ignored the 5 knot limits in the harbours, which his a global standard. The tour on the island was ok and the guide knew facts about the island. The meal on la digue was very average, the whole package was not good value. This company will not change, but i feel compelled to advise that the boat trip could ruin your experience and that there is a better alternative.
Overall a very good day! Crew was nice and beaches beautiful. Biking on La Digue is fun! Lunch was good as well. Best for adults or older children as the boat trips can be rough depending on the weather. Make sure to bring own water as the water from the tour group is quite limited. Alternatively there are places to buy drinks on the beaches.
Overall good but would appreciate we got some water included in the lunch and also a small snack along side the full day. Really positive is that with this trip you manage to see Praslin + La Digue in one and the same day
It was a great experience and we enjoy it,the tour was great planed! The stuff were very polite, places we visit beautifull, food tasty!Thank you
Beautiful places and people, would sugest anyone, best price, staff is very profesional and everything was on time...
One fantastic day out. The weather wasn’t the best but the team and specially Daniella, made the most to help us with arranging options. Had time to walk around Valle de Mai, cycled the entire island of La Digue whilst others just enjoyed the beach! Loved the flexibility of it all!
Catamaran day trip to La Digue and Praslin islands with Mason travel. Long day but well worth it, two beautiful islands where you learn about their culture and life style and end on two stunning beaches, you can see the fish without a snorkel. Thoroughly recommend this trip it is well worth the money and you get lunch on the boat too. Betina showed us round and told us about the cultures and lifestyle of the islanders, she was fun, super knowledgeable and very friendly. Two stunning islands on one day. Love the Seychelles. Julie and Phil
Amazing day trip worth the money. The guide made the experience great. Travelling with an infant and a child guide assured everything was taken care for us. Beautiful beaches. Halal food was available and water on board the boat. Only negative will be less time spend with turtles. Pick up and drop was on time as informed earlier.
This is a very nice trip to both Praslin and La Digue. You will experience the beaches, small villages, Coco de Mer stop in Praslin, watching the turtles in La Digue and enjoying the endless beauty of the nature. Biking in La Digue was very nice. The creole lunch was tasty.
The day trip was nice, however there are only 3 negatives: 1- Too much time spent talking about the coco de mer 2- When we arrived to la digue and was dropped off for lunch, the tour guide guide with the previous group and we were left stranded at the restaurant for 30 minutes in the sun. The tour guide should have stayed with the last group of people and made sure everyone was transported to the next point of interest. 3- The entry ticket to the national park / beach in la digue should be arranged before the time to avoid unnecessary queuing and waiting as this caused a delay.
AMAZING DAY TRIP, THE GUIDE WAS AMAZING AND VERY KNOWLEDGEBLE. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS TOUR. LA DIGUE IS A BEAUTIFUL ISLAND. WE QOULD DEFINITELY CISIT SEY SHELLS AGAIN.
A very nice and good organized tour. Fabulous beaches, good food, amazing views. The tour guide was knowledgeable and nice, we enjoyed the trip very much.
The boat ride was wonderful, the guide made the whole experience 5 star.praslin and La digue are the islands everyone should visit once in their life time.
I liked the fact we could visit two islands on the same day. The islands are just wonderful. About the trip I must highlight three negative aspects that probably Viator do not know: Viator does its best! But the operators are not always the best.. 1. The boat is very old, not in good condition and is quite dangerous; Something in the boat burned, in the middle of the journey, there was a burned smell, we had to be on the water about 15min (with the boat balancing or floating which made me sick and nervous but the worse is there wasn’t an extintor on the boat! If a fire would happen (and we were not far from that…), we would have to jump on the water (with probably sharks around and we a would all loose our phones and cameras! and risking our lives). Viator should definitely speak about this with the operator because there are many other good and safe boats. 2. The driver of the boat was extremely rude and abrupt; he cannot be in contact with the tourists because his abruptness is extremely shocking. 3. We were obliged to remove the shoes before entering the boat and the floor of the boat was dirty. Not difficult to get a micose there… 4. At Praslin, it was not given the time and the opportunity to visit the most famous and world heritage park Vallé de Mai. The fact that we have to pay the entrance, is fair and absolutely fine. The problem is to wish to go in, and no chance. This is important for Viator to know and improve by speaking with the operator or changing the operator. To change the boat and the driver of the boat, is really a MUST! Thank you for the attention
Small boat, terrible lunch. The operator dosen’t care my son’s see sick. Services are delayed. Avoid this group.
This was an amazing tour. Our tour guides were knowledgeable and very accommodating to our entire group. I could not have asked for a better experience! Praslin was as advertised, it was sad that we could not do more in the Vallee de Mai but considering the time, it was fun to get the education on the Coco de Mar that we got. If you can, skip this portion and go straight to La Digue as you will have more time at the beaches in La Digue. You would miss out on Anse Lazio beach, which is beautiful and worth the time, but that's the decision you have to make two beaches and an educational experience or one really amazing beach with more time. La Digue is the best and Anse Source d'Argent is the best place I have ever visited.
Enjoyed the team and the stuff they were so nice and pleasing everyone and everything was managed on time and helpful with anything at anytime we needed support
Amazing tour The lunch could be better but everything else was exceptional Our gide were five stars.
Prasline was s joke. Didn’t even go to the heritage park to see coco de mar. They pull off into a parking lot and show you two coconuts then take you to an average beach. La digue was awesome and i recommend going.
Daniella is an amazing tour guide. Fabulous way to get a taste of the Seychelles. Amazing beaches. Food was yummy!
I have booked tour with this company to Praslin and La Digue. Everything was fine until I received a message from them. They told me to be at marine charter by 7am. I told them I need someone to pick me up from my accommodation only 4 minutes drive to marine charter. I know it’s free (also as you can see they offer free transfer if you are around Victoria) but they asked me to pay extra 60 Euros for a transfer. They just want to take your money. It’s not fare to take extra 60 euro for 4 min driving. I just cancelled my booking. You can get flight or take fast ferry instead.
The food wasn’t nice especially we paid high prices the guide was so helpful and nice places as well The transportation was mentioned it cover all mahe island but unfortunately we paid extra on transportation
Excellent day and excellent trip. I highly recommend for those who are based in Mahe and are looking for a complete day to visit two other islands of Seychelles.
Perfect trip for those of you who only have a short time to visit the counties. Professional and passionate guide and staff. We also have ample time for each site and not felt rushed. Would recommend this tour to anyone.
Very commercial, beautiful beaches. Ferry ride can be bumpy. The big land turtles on La Digue are not running free on the Island.
This is a unique opportunity to see both islands in one day for a very reasonable price. The cruise was very well organized: famous beaches, perfect timing, attentive guide. Most heartfelt thanks to Ocean Blue for their friendly service, we really enjoyed the trip!l While booking via website we had some difficulty with our credit cards, we called the office, Naseema Ebrahim confirmed our booking and sent us a driver on the apppointed day without any deposit. Thank you for the unforgettable time on the Seychelles!
We really enjoyed the trip & felt it was very well organised & fantastic value. We’ve used Ocean Blue travel on both our visits to the Seychelles for airport shuttles & we would highly recommend this company as they provide a professional, friendly & efficient service. We will definitely be using them again on our next visit!
Had a wonderful time discovering the islands! Highly recommended! The guide was also very helpful throughout the trip.
Pros: Guide was very nice, informative and did a good job. Great attitude Efficient way to avoid having to make plans and cover both islands The tortoises were cool boat was clean Cons: The beach they took us to on Praslin was a long way and didn't have good facilities. They could have taken us a few more places on the islands to get a better feel for the island instead of a very distinct point. The restaurant on La Digne was not very good Got picked up too early (6:20am) and once we got to the dock, we had to wait about 45 minutes or longer before the boat left Better instructions to bring a towel with you Didn't appreciate they required us to take our shoes off on the boat. Then they made us walk on sharp rocks without shoes to retrieve them on Praslin. That hurt.
One of the beautiful island is la digue. Picture perfect scenic view. Feel like stay there on the beach forever. Praslin is ordinary island.
Loved the guide- she knew everything about the islands! The beach in Praslin was Ah-mazing! Everything was smooth and very much organised from start to end! Highly recommended!
What an excellent trip, well selected places to visit. Our quide was super, big thanks to him well organized day. Really good choise to explore two islands in a day.
The planning was great The guide was so friendly and nice The whole staff was amazing The food and service were awesome. Great tour
We had the one day tour at Praslin and La Digue with Ocean Blue Travel and I must say everything was just perfect! It was a wonderfully organized trip and the tour guide was also very approachable!
Nice trip. I found out that my price from Viator was 50% more expensive than the regular price. I won't use your services any more
Overall, the experience was wonderful. Our tour guide was Daniella (I hope I remembered her name correctly!) and she was amazing. Super friendly and informative when it came to explaining the details of the tour & what we were doing. The beaches we visited were breathtaking, lunch was delicious and I’m so glad we decided on this trip. Our vacation wouldn’t have been the same without it! Very professional staff from the guide, to the rest of the staff helping with the boat, driving, etc.
The beaches in Praslin and La Digue are whst make this trip. The tour on Praslin tonsee the Coco de Mer consisted of us walking from the parking lot to the edge of where the palm trees were locsted which was about 30 yards from where we parked. That part of the tour was a little bit of let down. The tour guides and driver were superb and incredibly nice and informative. By far the worst part of the tour was the boat ride. Maybe if you sit in the last row it wouldnt be as bad, but I had the seat right behind the Captain and it was brutal each way. I don't get sea sick so that was not the issue. The constant slamming down on the waves made the whole ride extremely uncomfortable. I don't know if the Captain coul have done anything to make it better but it was the most torturous boat ride I've ever endured. Lunch was delicious and was just was advertised. The boat ride makes it hard to recommend this tour but if you're willing to endure that to see the beaches on Praslin and La Digue, and they are spectacular, then I'd say go for it.
Super friendly and professional staff that gave us the best experience, everything was so well organised. We were in a mixed group of couples and young families and it appeared that all had a very good time. The tour was insightful and entertaining. We saw some amazing scenery and the lunch included was great! Couldn’t recommend it enough.
The trip was cancelled and we were informed 40 minutes post meeting time which we confirmed the day before. Trying to get a refund but everyday someone asks me about my reservation number which is a joke. Don't recommend
I would recommend this trip because Praslin and La Digue must be seen, so if you are on Mahe island, don't skip this trip.
The whole experience was amazing the beaches were so beautiful the Lunch was so yummy and delicious and the Truck experience at La digue was so nice and felt the island vibes. Loved the tour guide and they helped us alot.
