If I could give this a 10 star, I would. Ignacio had a very comfortable Mercedes that ONLY had us 4, though the max size of the group was 8. I have had past experiences in which the tour was cancelled if it did not need the minimum number of people, but in this case he did the tour anyway. The places he took us the restaurants he chose, and the very personalized experience we got cannot be duplicated.Ignacio took care of explaining everything that we were seeing and gave us a very detailed understanding of the wine, making process and the history of Spain. At the winery that he took us the winery owner gave us a full tour, including a tour of the cellars that were hundreds of years old. Ignacio has a very good relationship with the owner who only spoke Spanish so Ignacio translated everything that the owner was saying for our ease of understanding. Not only did we get some of the best wines that we tasted, but the owner also opened a very old vintage so we could taste the true spirit of the land. The wine was so good that we ended up buying a case to be shipped back to us in the United States. The other part of the experience was going to a castle more than 1000 years old and the windmills that’s around it since it was just the four of us. It was such a personal experience With detail history and very patient answering of our questions. I would highly highly recommend this tour cause the perfect ending was him opening a bottle of wine for us at the top of the hills under the windmills for a wonderful experience.Ignacio also took several pictures on his phone that he is going to send us and also took any pictures on our phones that we asked him to. Very personable and nice guide with a deep understanding of the history and culture of Spain.

Itinerary
La Mancha is the the largest surface of vineyard in the world and is also considered as one of the best areas in Spain in order to grow high-quality grapes. Nowadays, some of the best Spanish companies are now opening new wineries in such area and those initiatives are generating a lot of wealth and employment there.
According to the experts, the local producers have been improving its wineries by introducing the latest technological developments within the region they operate, as well as maintaining the oldest ones in order to satisfy the consumers´ needs. La Mancha can be considered as one of the most picturesque areas of Spain for that reason without forgeting other tourist attractions like the medieval town of Toledo, for example. There are also other historic medieval towns and villages we should consider such as Consuegra, Campo de Criptana and La Mota del Cuervo, all of them with amazing windmills, hiking trails and birdwatching facilities. And we will try to do it with a glass of wine in hand. We consider that things will be better with a glass of wine in hand.
We will also have lunch at some well-known restaurants where people can taste some typical dishes of this specific area. If you are interested in the Spanish way of life, you should definitely try its national food. If you want to carry out the same activities like the ones from the local people, you should eat the same recipes and visit some some interesting places there.

Ignacio was an excellent tour guide. He was knowledgeable, accommodating and fun! He took us to the most interesting family owned winery. They ferment the red wine in giant clay pots. Everything about this winery was charming and it was obvious that wine making was a labor of love for this 5th generation wine making family. After that we were supposed to go to a plaza and it was closed, so he took us to a restaurant that had caves and more clay pots that had been autographed by thousands of famous people. Then off to see the windmills and a castle/fort. We ended the tour with another glass of wine. Ignacio is an incredible host! Book with Ignacio. You’ll be glad you did!
Ignacio was great. 6 people on tour got all the attention needed. Wine was amazing lunch was delicious windmills and castle visit were great. Highly recommend!
One of the best excursions we’ve done with Viator to date. Each part was excellent from the winery which included a visit to the caves used to store the wine, to the Cervantes Museum, to the famous Windmills. Our guide was very knowledgeable and provided information in a entertaining and fun way.
It was a very busy but well organized day and Ignacio is an amazing and passionate guide. We visited a Winery, museums, windmills and a castle!
Wonderful personal experience from start to finish. Long full day but worth it.Our guide Ignacio was very knowledgeable and very personable.
Great day trip exploring the countryside! Guide was friendly and shared the history of Spain with us. Winery, windmills, castle tour, and lots of beautiful scenery.
We absolutely loved our day trip with Ignacio! We had a lovely family wine-tour, a visit through the Don Quixote book museum in Consuegra before seeing two windmill sites, as well as a gorgeous castle. Ignacio relayed the history and culture of the area, and picked out a great lunch spot that rivaled some of Madrid’s top restaurants! Ignacio went above and beyond with a quick detour into Toledo which was gorgeous after sunset, before completing the tour. 10/10 would recommend!
The tour was just my partner and I, so we had a very nice private-tour experience! Ignacio drove us to a family vineyard, to see two windmill sites, and a gorgeous castle in Consuegra. Ignacio picked a FANTASTIC local restaurant for the three of us to eat at, hands down the best meal we had while on vacation! Then, as we had time, Ignacio took us through Toledo to see an overview of the city. Cannot recommend this tour highly enough! We had a great time, and Ignacio had lots of local knowledge and history to impart about La Mancha. Absolutely worth the day trip.
Great tour, lots of history from the driver. He was so nice and you get to see a lot. I enjoyed both the windmills and the wine tasting. Went to a great place for lunch
A great day in the country side. Our guide Ignacio shared his passion for Don Q and local wine. It was living a dream.
Ignacio was an amazing tour guide! Very professional, was on time and took some great pictures of us! He helped us customize our private tour so that we can include Toledo in our day trip. His tour was definitely one of the highlights of our trip! Mil gracias Ignacio!
The tour was stunning. We got to see the windmills and drink wine. Going to a local winery and the castle really made the tour superb. The tour guide was very patient as my mom and I love to take photos. Highly recommend.
It was such a great tour! We got to see a lot more than we thought and saw and everything we wanted which to do a wine tasting and Don Quixote’s windmills. Our guide Ignacio was very kind and he made sure we had a very good time and he also gave us so much information in all the places we visited. He also took us a rea lot good restaurant for lunch. It was such a delicious meal! Would definitely recommend this tour! Thank you Ignacio, we had a great time!
Fabulous tour with Ignacio Segovia. Way exceeded expectations. Ignacio gave us a history of Spain on the way to the winery & cave, El Toloso & the windmills. I was expecting a cheesy Don Quixote tour and this was very professional and not cheesy at all. I definitely would recommend it.
We had an excellent time on the Windmills of Don Quixote Wine Tour from Madrid. Ignacio worked with us to arrange a private tour for just us two (in Spanish), collected us from the hotel and shared a wealth of information throughout. While we have visited Madrid several times in the past, seeing the famous windmills has always been on our list. We also enjoyed the local winery and wine tasting, as well as a visit to a safron supplier. This day trip was one of the highlights of our visit. Highly recommend.
This was not our first time in Madrid but this was one of the best experiences we had here. The guide was very knowledgeable and professional. We will book with winebus again on our next trip
My wife and I were in Madrid during the beginning of December and choose this Wine Tour because it sounded different than the run-of-the-mill Winery Tours. The tour guide & owner of Winebus (Ignacio) is excellent and very passionate. We specifically visited the winery of Bodegas Jesus Diaz e Hijos, the town of El Toboso (and the Cervantes Museum), and the Windmills and Castle of Consuegra. The Castle itself was well worth the cost of this tour. Lunch at a local restaurant was also excellent. The only caveat that I would mention is that this is a very full day tour. So be prepared for a fair amount of driving time between the various stops. But again, well worth the time spent.
The tour was amazing!!! You go to many places, each one with a unique history and the beat of all the tour guide…… Ignacio!!!
We had a GREAT time on this tour with Ignacio. It could not get any more private that this, we were total of 5 people. Ignacio was very professional, knowledgeable, and very enthusiastic. The tour started on time and never felt that we were in hurry during the tour considering all the places Ignacio took us, including lunch at a local restaurant in Consuegra where the food was fantastic. The local bodega we visited in El Toboso, Campos de Dulcinea was phenomenal, great wine. At the end of the tour, to "cap-it-all", we drank wine at Los Molinos de Viento en Consuegra. After the tour he was very kind on dropping-off us close to the hotel which we were not expecting since the end point was the same as the meet point. Highly recommended.
Very interesting and informative tour about Don Quixote and the infamous windmills of La Mancha. The windmills are incredible and the views from the castle are spectacular. The food and wine were excellent as well. Thank you so much, Ignacio, for a wonderful trip.
What a fantastic experience!! My wife and I had a lovely time on this tour in September 2023. Ignacio was our tour guide and we lucked out as the only group for the day and had a private trip to the winery and La Mancha windmills. The tour guide gave us a personalized tour with a history of Spain, a history of wine making and back ground on Don Quixote and La Mancha. The winery tour was informative topped off with some wine tasting followed by a tour of the wind mills inside and outside. A quick stop at the Cervantes museum, a local church. A delightful lunch at a local restaurant with tasty dishes and then a breathtaking tour of a Castle where we lucked out again witnessing the annual medieval fencing competition. Ignacio went out of his way to explain, and plan the tour. He even made suggestions about dinner places in Madrid and dropped us off at one such restaurant. The landscape on the tour is stunning with plenty of photo ops but what made the day special was Ignacio and his efforts to add local flavor to a gorgeous itinerary. I would recommend this for anyone interested in wine tours or an interest in Cervantes and Don Quixote or just looking to learn about Spain with a memorable journey through its geography and history!! Three Thumbs UP!!
Fabulous time, wine tour was incredible, lunch was delicious and the windmills were beautiful! Out your guide was friendly and wonderful !
We embarked on an incredible journey led by our tour guide, Ignacio, which turned out to be a truly exceptional adventure. The combination of the remarkable winery and the captivating history was beyond compare. The windmills and fortress added a picturesque touch that enhanced the overall experience. This tour is an absolute must-try, and passing it up would be a missed opportunity. What an utterly astonishing day it was. Our day was packed to the brim with exploration, yet every moment was undeniably worthwhile. Our driver and guide for the day exhibited an impressive depth of knowledge concerning Spain's history and the wine region. During our drive from the city, he skillfully pointed out various landmarks, offered enlightening responses to our inquiries, and regaled us with tales of Spain. Each of our stops held its own fascination, and our guide was at our side, providing personalized insights throughout. He even joined us for lunch, suggesting that we order an assortment of dishes to share – a brilliant notion that allowed us to savor a diverse array of flavors. A highlight of the tour was when, at the windmills, our guide pleasantly surprised us with a bottle of wine. Without a doubt, I wholeheartedly grant this tour a perfect five-star rating and enthusiastically urge anyone to make room for it in their travel itinerary!
Excellent, we had an awesome adventure with our tour guide Ignacio. We were lucky enough to be the only ones in the tour. Ignacio was able to grant us some extra time in Toledo. The winery and history was superb, I never imagine such a place to exist. The windmills were picturesque. This tour is a must do! Don’t miss out.
First let’s say that we lucked out, we were the only 2 people in this tour. We had one on one with Ignacio our tour guide. He was very personable and entertaining. He took us to a beautiful and historical winery, Amazing! We sampled wine and even but bottles to ship home. The windmills was extra special beautiful views. At the end we ask Ignacio for a quick tour of Toledo and he agreed even though it was not included, luckily we had the extra time. I highly recommend Ignacio and this tour.
Had the best time with Nacho! We got to experience a beginning to end tour of a local , family owned winery and taste test 4 amazing wines. The owner was very informative and friendly. We were lucky enough to ship a few cases back home to share with friends. Then on to a local restaurant for delicious Spanish cuisine. We all shared and had a great time chatting about the local village. My favorite part of this tour was all the history about Don Quijote. The museum was the perfect size to keep everyone’s attention and and the book in all different languages. Amazing ! Next we saw the giant windmills and castle of the town. Nacho explained the history in a way we Will remember.
Oh My Gosh! What an amazing day. It was a very full day of exploring but well worth it. We made quite a few stops and each one wasn't too fast or too slow. Our driver/guide for the day was so knowledgeable on the history of Spain and the wine region. On our drive from the city, he pointed out sights, answered our questions and told us about Spain. All of our stops were interesting and he was our personal guide. He joined us for lunch. At his suggestion we ordered several dishes and shared. Great idea as we got to sample many dishes. There were 2 highlights - the goats and the Windmills. The goats were in a field by the road. We are all animal lovers so we had to get a closer look. We drove over and met the man herding the goats. Turns out they were all expecting baby goats. At the windmills, our guide surprised us with a bottle of wine to enjoy as we took in the views. I absolutely give this tour FIVE stars and highly recommend working it into your trip!!
Absolutely recommend this tour! Our guide gave us a history of Spain and of wine in Spain. Very interesting and educational. Our guide took many candid and group shout so we could enjoy our winery tour. The winery host only spoke Spanish so our guide interpreted and it was very entertaining. The wine was excellent. Lunch was at a local restaurant. We ordered several dishes and shared everything so we all got to taste. Our guide joined us and it was very enjoyable. The windmills and castle were also cool. Learning how the windmills operate was interesting too. Loved this tour!
My friend and I were so lucky to get a private wine tour with the windmills. Ignacio is a great guide and truly passionate about tourism in Spain. One of the many highlights was having a glass of wine at the windmills looks over Consuegra. Definitely a unique addition to the tour that is a great memory. We had extra time since it was only 2 of us and Ignacio offered to show us around Toledo. He took us the parador at sunset overlooking the beautiful city. He went the extra mile to ensure our last day in Spain was action packed. If you’re looking for a tour to get the most of your day definitely go with Winebus!
We had a wonderful time and got to know spectacular places. Our guide, Nacho, was very informative and nice.
Ignacio went way above our expectations on this tour. Since it was just 2 of us he fit it a visit to Toledo in addition to the wine tour, windmills and castle. We got the most of our last day in Spain and had a great day. I recommend this tour to anyone wanting to get out of the city and see a different side of Spain.
Madrid is great but this tour gets you away from the city and into La Mancha with someone who knows the beauty and history of the area. The tour exceeds all expectations between the historical vineyards, the amazing views, and the story of Don Quixote that brings the landscape to life. Worth the time and the journey. I'd recommend this to anyone going to Madrid.
Wonderful tour with a knowledgeable and passionate guide. Had a nice tour of a winery and tasted 4 wines followed by a visit to a small Cervantes museum and a visit to the house of Dulcinea del Toboso before driving to an amazing lunch and our visit to the windmills and fortress.
I am so glad to have found this tour. Ignacio was an incredible host/guide and we learned a lot about the history of Spain in general along with a ton of information from each stop. The tour stops were well planned and interesting. The wine was delicious and the windmills and castle were stunning. You will not be disappointed.
Our guide Ignacio was so wonderful and knowledgeable. All the stops were so worth it, especially when we visited the windmills although it was a bit cold. The winery stop was amazing as it is actually worked by a very long line of wine makers!. Highly recommend it!.
My husband and I had a wonderful day with Ignacio exploring the tiny town of Tobosco, including the museum, Dulcinea's house, and a winery. The Campos de Dulcinea tour was very interesting. Our host there was very pleasant and we enjoyed tasting his wines. Lunching with Ignacio in a restaurant at Consuegra was fun as we shared some of the local specialities. For me, the highlight of the day was seeing the fort and the windmills on the hilltop outside Consuegra. Great views and the mills themselves are so quaint and historical. Happens it was very windy the day we were there, so we could understand why the windmills were so located. Our tour was composed of only ourselves and Ignacio. It seemed very personal and we had time to ask all the questions we wanted. (It is a full day trip, around ten hours) If you like wine and have an interest in Don Quixote, you can't go wrong with this tour. Thanks Ignacio!
Ignacio was wonderful! The whole tour was incredible, from the 5th generation winery, to the windmills of Don Quixote, it was all amazing.
My favorite part of the day was the glass of Wine late afternoon at the Windmills...high up on the hill overlooking the valley. Truly breathtaking experience. Our guide was great - very knowledgeable. The winery tasting was memorable - a local winery - not a commercial sales pitch. Lunch in local restaurant was great. The Dulcinea museum very nice. A special day!
My husband and I had a wonderful time on our tour with Ignacio. This tour is perfect for history lovers and wine lovers. Ignacio is a great tour guide. Our initial meeting instructions were clear and we had no problem finding our group. We enjoyed sampling the wine and learning about the wine making process at the Dulcinea Winery. We stopped for lunch before starting the best part of the trip: exploring the windmills and castle of La Mancha.
our tour guide Ignacio was superb. Lots of information shared making the tour an amazing day. Great stop at the winery. Very friendly
This wine trip was amazing and exceeded our expectations. Our guide treated as friends and just made the trip more personal. The views were absolutely breathtaking, and of course let’s not forget about the wine! I loved the winery and hearing about their process.
We had a great experience. The places were beautiful, the food was delicious, and the wine the best. Definitely worth the money. Ignacio was a great host. Very accommodating and always made sure we were enjoying our tour. I would give him more stars if it was possible.
Great tour guide, fun and unique itinerary, excellent winery, even more excellent restaurant stop, and of course, the windmills!
There are truly not enough words to describe just how cool this experience was and how accommodating and knowledgable Ignacio is. Each place we went felt like a special, exclusive treat tucked away from the routine tourism stops in Madrid. Our itinerary included a family winery (we brought 8 bottles home - stuffed so carefully in our clothes in our suitcase - they made it home safely!), a quick glass of wine and snack at Meson Cuevas Del Vino, a walk around an old bullfighting ring, lunch at a cool spot in a nearby town, the windmills and castle of Consuegra...BUT...the most amazing part of the trip was how Ignacio was so gracious to squeeze in a quick walk around Toledo. When my boyfriend had visited Madrid years ago, he had done a tour of both Consuegra and Toledo - it was the tour we originally were looking for, but couldn't find. As we told Ignacio this during our day with him, he thoughtfully paused and said, "Let me see what I can do." Ending our tour with a breathtaking view of Toledo with a glass of wine in hand is truly indescribable. I cannot say enough about how amazing Ignacio is and his love for travel, wine, and history. You will not be disappointed; you'll end your day wondering when can you book your next tour!
We really enjoyed our excursion to Don Quixote and wine tasting at Campo de Dulcinea. Our guide Ignacio was excellent. I normally get motion sickness but I did well today thanks to Nacho. Our guide and the don of the owner of Dulcinea , Luis was so accommodating. I would highly recommend this excursion to my friends. The food was fantastic at Gaudy in Consuegra.
We did the Don Quixote wine tour to La Mancha with Ignacio and it was the highlight of our trip! We started off at a local winery that gave an excellent tour and history of the progression of the wine industry. The winery was family owned and they hand pick all of the grapes to ensure the highest quality. Every wine was amazing! We bought 4 bottles and then had to figure out the packing situation to allow for the extra weight, but they were so good there was no way we weren't bringing them home! We toured 2 museums related to Don Quixote and then had the best lunch at a local restaurant! He then took us to tour a castle and the windmills. This was truly the highlight of the trip! The views were breathtaking and we could have stayed there all day! They do tours to other areas as well and if we would have had more days after this tour, I would have booked more! I can't recommend this tour enough! You should absolutely book it!
This was the best tour we have had hands down! Ignacio showed us so many wonderful things on this tour related to Don Quixote. He was very knowledgeable and shared many places that emphasized the story. The wine was delicious. We did lots of walking and climbing. We had a delicious lunch. Everything was wonderful. Definitely would recommend to those who love wine and love the story of Don Quixote!
Had an absolutely amazing time with our guide Ignacio seeing some of Spain outside of Madrid! I believe the itinerary depends on what is available for the day booked, but we went to two wineries, a cafe, a restaurant, toured a castle, a windmill and then went to a small museum. Even with a packed itinerary, the day was perfectly paced to make it a relaxed day which at no point seemed rushed. All of the wines were superb. Ignacio answered all of our many questions and translated for us at the winery and castle tours. This was definitely one of the most memorable parts of our trip, and if we go back to Spain, we would definitely do it again!
Ignacio was punctual and pleasant. He kept us entertained and interested. We never felt rushed nor bored. He was a safe driver and the vehicle was nearly brand new and very accommodating. Our lunch was at a very nice restaurant in a small town. The food and beverages were superb. I’d highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see the lands surrounding Madrid.
