This was a wonderful tour. After some trouble booking through some agencies, we searched online and found the operator and booked directly with them. Nic is a wonderful guy and gave us a delicious introduction to Vermouth and lots of laughs along the way.

What an excellent evening we had! Nick was a brilliant guide - enthusiastic, knowledgeable and good fun Luis, at the first venue, also gave us an excellent tasting of different types of Vermut. Highly recommend for a different type of evening tour in Madrid.
If you love vermut, do this tour. If you’ve never tried vermut, do this tour. My friend and I had a very fun night with Nic sampling some delicious vermut’s! The first stop was a tasting in Luis shop in the Mercado de San Fernando, this alone was worth the tour. I tasted vermuts I’ve never tried or seen before but I do live in little old New Zealand so that isn’t a surprise. Nick has managed to create a tour that has flexibility without it being obvious. If a place was closed, he has another one just around the corner. We had some amazing cheese and learnt all about the Gilda and could try different combos to the original. An Aussie, a Kiwi and a Brit - what a great combo! Thanks Nick, that was the highlight of our trip. :)
Literally sooo much fun! The tour guide is a great vibe and very knowledgeable. It felt like we were out with an old friend. I took my girlfriends and they had an absolute blast.
Nic was an amazing guide. His knowledge of vermouth was outstanding, and his great relationships with the local establishments gave us a truly unique experience. As first-time visitors, his knowledge of Madrid and the surrounding areas helped us feel comfortable and welcomed in this beautiful city. I would highly recommend Nick for this vermouth tour, as well as the other tours he offers. It was a first-class experience from start to finish. 🌟🍷
Living in Madrid I enjoy drinking vermouth but that’s about it. But sharing the being with Nic, I learned about its history, how it’s made, and how many different types there are! So many good flavors! Wonderful experience tasting with an expert as well. If you and your friends need a evening plan in Madrid, this is a great combination of fun and culture.
I went to the free walking tour with Tio Tours earlier in the week (which I also highly recommend!) which ultimately led to Nick telling me about his night vermouth tour. Being interested in learning about the culture of Madrid and also trying something out of my comfort zone, I decided to book in for this tour. There was only myself and one other person making for a private, intimate and perfectly curated tour, giving Nick more time to answer any questions and explain in depth. The bars we went to were a perfect mix of cozy and busy with delicious vermouth, well outside of the normal touristy areas which made it so much more authentic. Because of the small group in the first bar we went to, where you’d usually try five vermouths, we had eight including some extremely rare and limited edition vermouths, put on by our excellent host Luìs for which I am incredibly privileged and grateful for his incredible hospitality and knowledge on vermouth. There are couple of spots we could choose where to go, depending on the vibe or what we were wanting to do which made the tour more personalised. The dinner at the last bar was the cherry on top and the food itself was delicious. I only have one critique: our tour guide needs to scrap his Dry January and get on the turps with his guests :)
If you're at all interested in Vermouth, you'll love this tour. Nick is very knowledgeable and a great host. We started at the Mercado de San Fernando and then worked our way over to the La Latina neighborhood, stopping at several nice places for Vermouth and delicious Tapas on the way. Each one had something unique to offer and opened my eyes to the wide variety and rich history of Vermouth in Madrid. I had an amazing time and I would definitely take this tour again.
Great vermouth tour. My favorite part was the tasting, with its amazing variety of styles and infused flavors, as well as the location in which that took place. The chosen nice local bars throughout Madrid were also great. It was a nice group and very well planned.
Great vermouth tour and great guy! Very knowledgeable, the stops are great. Developed a taste for white vermouth which I hadn't tried before
I joined Nick for a group tour on my own where I met four other folks. We started in mercado were we got a special tasting by the owner of the Vermuteria who explained various Vermouths, their origin, flavors, etc. and where we got to try a really interesting selection of Vermouths. From there we hit a few other places where we drank the local Vermouth on tap and just got to experience the evening hopping around Madrid.
Super fun Tour. Although I have been in Madrid for some time, we went to all new places for me, met owners of the bar, who told us lots of interesting things about vermouth. Nicholas was great guide, super friendly and the whole group was amazing.
I did a vermouth tour with my friend Emely and Nic and absolutely loved it! Nic took us to this really authentic local bar and guided us through a vermouth tasting that was both super fun and really interesting. He explained the history, the traditions, and how vermouth is made in such an engaging way that you can tell he’s genuinely passionate about it. We got to try different kind of vermouth’s and learned how locals actually enjoy it, which made the experience feel really special and personal. It was the perfect mix of culture, history, and good drinks. I’d recommend Tío Tours to anyone who wants to discover the real spirit of the city and taste something unique!
Great Tour of hidden authentic bars. Nice knows his city and the bar owners know him so we were treated like VIP’s. Generous rounds of quality and even rare Vermouth with delicious Tapas to match. Nic is so enthusiastic about giving you the best tour experience. Thank you Nic, Peter & Alan Kilkenny Ireland
Loved our night of vermouth, Nic was great, highly recommended. We also used some of Nics recommendations the following day to find the best churros and a panoramic rooftop view of the city
Excellent tour! My girlfriend and I had a great time learning about Vermouth and trying loads of different types. Nic is a really fun and engaging guide, he was very knowledgeable and showed us some cool spots in Madrid. The whole tour is really good value for money!
I loved this tour, the first place has a lot of charm, the owner was friendly and fun with a lot of knowledge to share. You will learn, have fun and eat delicious. Nick makes the tour have a lot of magic with all the stories and good energy.
Excellent experience if you love vermouth or another type of drink, drink and learn about its history and preparation
