We had a lovely visit to Cuenca with Sergi! He’s informative, friendly, warm and funny. Definitely recommend this tour with him. Cuenca looks even better after sunset so it’s a good idea to even stay a night here if possible. Pro tip - wear comfortable shoes as it involves a lot of walking.
Great tour. Very good tour guide (Sergio) and driver (Cesar). Beautiful scenery. Loved the Enchanted City and Cuenca old town.
Sergi was a great tour guide! He is very knowledgeable and engaging. It was a long day, but worth it! A wonderful mix of beautiful city and nature.
We had a wonderful experience on our tour to Cuenca, and we couldn’t have asked for a better team than our guide, Sergei, and our driver, Felix! They were an outstanding duo who made the entire day enjoyable, comfortable, and memorable from start to finish. Felix was an excellent driver who navigated the journey smoothly and safely, getting us to and from Cuenca without a hitch. Sergei was exceptional! He was incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and personable, with a great sense of humor that brought the history and stories of this beautiful region to life. We especially enjoyed exploring the Enchanted Forest and the medieval town of Cuenca. Sergei explained the history, fascinating details, and unique features of each location in a way that was both informative and entertaining. His passion for the area was evident, and he made sure we truly appreciated the beauty, culture, and charm of everything we visited. What made this tour particularly special was the wonderful balance of history, sightseeing, humor, and personal attention. We never felt rushed, and Sergei made the experience feel relaxed and welcoming. His storytelling and Felix’s excellent driving made for a perfect combination! If you’re considering a tour to Cuenca, we wholeheartedly recommend this experience. Sergei and Felix are a fantastic team, and they helped make our visit a highlight of our time in Spain. Don’t hesitate to book this tour—you won’t be disappointed!
This was one of the best places to visit in Madrid. Our tour guide Sergi was SO knowledgeable and such a pleasure to spend the day with. The enchanted city is amazing. So many rocks formations. Conan the Barbarian was filmed there. If you want to take a day away from the cities do this tour.
Our day started with a beautiful views with the OUTSTANDING guidance of Sergi! He explained the history of the Enchanted City with passion and precision. I liked how we got to experience the whole place. Then we had an authentic lunch in Cuenca and got to get to see the charming city and the spectacular views. It was an all day adventure that we will never forget!
Great guides very knowledgeable and friendly. City and parks were beautiful with many things to see and learn about.
Wonderful experience.. we lucked out with the perfect weather! Our guide, Sergi, was passionate and informative detailing geologic history along with fun facts! Enchanted City was breathtaking! We then traveled to Cuenca where Sergi continued to educate and engage us as we walked through the historic city. We enjoyed the most delicious lunch prepared by a world class chef at such a reasonable price. Such a fun day! The bus ride was comfortable and the driver was friendly. We highly recommend this tour and hope you are lucky enough to get Sergi as your guide!
Wonderful experience with our guide, Sergi! One of the best guides I’ve had on a trip. He was so knowledgeable about the Enchanted City and Cuenca. He has great story-telling skills and was able to engage everyone on the tour. He was also very personable during lunch, learning about where everyone is from and their plans in Spain. The best part is that the restaurant they chose was amazing! I am usually hesitant about restaurants on yours since they are usually touristy but he chose an amazing one. It was actually on my list before going on this tour. Highly recommend this tour with Sergi.
Sergi is the best! This guy knows his stuff, told us all about the history of Cuenca - the tour was spaced really well - didn’t feel rushed , was nice to enjoy the different parts of the tour as well. Yes it’s a long day but I feel it was definitely worth it. Sergi does the best impressions with his stories about the town. Dude. LOVE THIS GUY!
One of the best tours ever with a very knowledgeable and personable guide. Sergi was amazing and would recommend this tour to everyone. Jose and Maria
Sergie was an excellent tour guide — very knowledgeable and full of fascinating historical insights about Cuenca. He was also incredibly friendly and made us feel comfortable throughout the entire trip. The day was well-organized, enjoyable, and educational.
Very interesting especially Enchanted City and Devols window Great guide, full of knowledge and delivered with humour
Fantastic autumn views in distinctive locations accompanied by a competitive and knowledgeable tour guide make for a memorable Spanish experience! Hasta la próxima vez!
Great tour of Cuenca and Enchanted. Both guides Sergei and Chris were excellent and very knowledgeable about the history of the location.
A very well planned and organized trip. Lots of interesting points. The guide was professional and made our day a great one.
Terrific tour guide who mixed cheeky humour with the historical facts. I would recommend this tour to everyone.
Cuenca exceeded all expectations! From the beautiful architecture, to the inspirational houses built on the cliffs, to the incredible food at the local cafés… it was all that you could ask for! Perfect in so many ways! Our tour guide, Sergi Teba, was incredible. He provided an excellent tour with knowledge of both the enchanted forest and Cuenca. He was very personable with every attendee and made sure everybody was included. He had a great sense of humor and the ability to provide inspiration for the day!
Definitely worth the money. All locations are beautiful. Sergei our tour group guide was awesome. Knew so much and explained nicely so we can all understand. I LOVED all locations. Our bus driver Laura was excellent getting us to our locations navigating tight spaces. She’s the best.
Wonderful experience with a wonderful guide. The bus was clean and comfortable. Plenty of breaks. The short hike at enchanted city was beautiful. Cuenca is amazing. Food at Cuenca was very good.
Christian the guide was wonderful! Well educated and passionate. The Enchanted Forest experience was a peaceful trail walk which was a welcome change from the business of Madrid. It look 1.5 hours to get to Cuenca so glad we opted for this tour.
I am a travel agent and I took some of my clients on this tour a couple of weeks ago. VERY disappointing! The town's a wonderful place t visit and walk around it. Would have been nice to have a guide that spoke English! There were 5 people on this tour, all speaking English (one of them could speak some Spanish). We booked an English speaking guide! If it hadn't been for the one lady that spoke some Spanish we wouldn't have known anything about the town. We left and our tour guide was driving the van. He almost killed us several times weaving into traffic. While driving he was looking at his phone. We are lucky to be alive. I would recommend this tour company at all!
First this was supposed to be an English speaking guide but was not! Tried his best. But most importantly it was supposed to be a professional driver. Numerous trouble staying in his driving lane … not sure if tired, drunk or high! Had other vehicles beeping & fingering at him as he was passed! Very scary ride. Love the destination but not getting there or back to Madrid!
Amazing places to visit. Why only 2 out of 10? Firstly this tour is advertised as English guided! Inspite of our guides best efforts his English was very poor. Secondly if you like structure, discipline, punctuality and organization on your tour, this is NOT for you! Period!
Antonio was effective in covering both stops on the Tour list, and kept it fully on time. The pace was quite fast, walking was always a quick pace and did not give us enough time to really enjoy the scenery. I would have love more time to view the Rock Formation from different angles in the Enchanted City. He tried hard to cover a lot of information in both Spanish and English. It would have been more successful if the tour was given in a single Language.
wonderful trip with professional guide. Cuenca is a place worth to visit. This tour is the best way for a day trip from Madrid.
I am currently on the tour. I signed up for an English tour but it is in both Spanish and English. The tour guide does not speak English well. The bus driver and tour guide seem rather unprofessional, including playing the radio on the bus. Based on the tour thus far, I would not recommend to other English speaking visitors.
The sites are all fantastic but the tour company should have oriented their guides better on situations when it is raining. To start with, at pickup they do not have their regular guide to welcome you. The 2 guides met us an hour later on the bathroom stop. A Spanish speaking and an English guide. The Spanish speaking guide has a microphone but the English guide does not. Usually when there are closed to 40 on the trip they provide whispers. This company did not so you have to be very close to the guide to hear the explanation. It started to rain and guide did not even accommodate us English speakers to be on a shade while he talks. When we were at the plaza where the cathedral is, it started to pour and he just kept it up instead of bringing us where there is shade near the steps to the porta santa. The guides also do not seem to be flexible and do not know where the driver is: several opted not to go to the town of Cuenca: guides said they do not know where driver is: isn’t it basic to know the driver’s cell number so they can call him? Then at the end of the tour they kept saying that the driver will not be at the meeting point even when it was pouring so hard. We were all drenched. I have been to so many Viator tours all over the world and this company that Viator uses need to train their guides.
Beautiful but very scary town. David (driver) and Fernando (tour guide) were excellent. The description of this tour should ve more detailed as it should state that there is a lot of physical exertion.
Rock formations, hanging houses and a first class guide (Fernand?). Also we bought our own lunch I a high location, so with a good view.
Our guide Fernando was great and the whole experience was amazing. I would recommend this activity to everyone!
Beatiful places we visit excellent job from our tour guide Fernando and the driver Javi. Very professional always take care the group. Really recommended.
Frank was a great tour guide who was eager to share his knowledge and fantastic about answering questions
Worth visiting, a wonderful experience ever. The tour guide, Fernando, is a season guide with fluent English
Driving through the gorges and pine forests and in particular Walking around Cuenca with our guide Fernandez
The value of the history learned on this trip is priceless. Their knowledge comes directly because they are born and raised in Cuenca. They show you the a thru z of the entire region. this trip is worthy every cent. And the guide Fernando is way above any excellent expectancy.
We booked the Cuenca tour with a visit to Ventano del Diablo, La Ciudad Encantada, and of course Cuenca and the casas colgadas. The tour was exceptional, well planned logistically, on time, with clean and comfortable transportation for the group. Fernando was the best tour guide of all the tours we experienced in Spain. His personal connection to Cuenca shines while explaining each well planned stop along the tour. There is a bit of walking, but virtually all “downhill” which accommodates 99% of tourists so do not worry. We had free time for lunch and there were several options to choose, we enjoyed lunch at the grilled meat parrillada restaurant. This was an excellent tour, well run and managed, with tour guide Fernando and driver Jose. The family is all in agreement that we highly recommend this tour for everyone considering . Do not hesitate, book and enjoy.
Excellent tour. Excellent guide. Only recommended change, guide should direct attendees to restaurants inside the city walls. The top one he recommended up where the bus parked was horrible. Service was horrible, food bland and we lost a lot of site seeing time because the service was so slow. El Castillo lost our order and had to come re-take it and then it still took forever. But that takes nothing from the tour. It was a perfect itinerary for a day, got to see a lot at a good pace. Would definitely recommend.
The viewpoint over the canyon, the Enchanted City visit, the cathedral and town visit, the meal in Cuennca and the journey from and back to Madrid made this a wonderful days excursion. Thank you to Fernando for adding to the enjoyment of the trip and his excellent driver Jose.
You must visit Cuenca. This city is so Beautiful and must be explored. Patti gave us a nice tour of Cuenca.
Cuenca is very unusual & quaint with its natural rock formations. Although the trek through this city was tough with steps, uneven ground & pebbles, it was worth the effort to see unspoilt nature. Our guide, Fernando, was very humorous & informative which made this tour very enjoyable although initially we thought we had erroneously joined a Spanish speaking tour.
it was a very good day tour from Madrid. the tour was well organized. our tour guide Patti was excellent. she gave us a lot of information about the places we visited. I especially appreciated that she didn't neglect my friend and I, since we were the only two persons who don't understand Spanish. She explained everything in English to us. I highly recommend this day tour. Cuenca is an amazing place to visit.
Fernando Alonso Lopez, our tour guide was excellent. He was knowledgeable and gave very detailed information on Cuenca history. The city of Cuenca is amazing..
Loved this tour! The city of Cuenca was beautiful and I loved learning about it. Our tour guide was great and very friendly and informative. Definitely would recommend seeing. Loved this tour better than some of the other tours of different cities around Spain.
The tour was great! I would highly recommend this excursion, it was both informational and entertaining. And, the sights were incredible.
Wonderful trip with Fernando. Great nature places and Cuenca. Ciudad Encantada is an absolutely great nature place. Perfectly organized.
Have you heard of the expression of taking the shirt off your back? Well literally, Roberto our conductor did that for me. I was not prepared for the cold and wind and he gave me his jacket to wear under my very inadequate jacket. Who does that? Fernando was a great, knowledgeable, funny and compassionate with the older participants. For him, Cuenca is personal, being a native. I loved the size of the tour and the personable care of the experience. It was wonderful.
The tour was fantastic , it was fun because the main tour is to the enchanted city which is a breathtaking national park . There is a beautiful 1.5h hike plus an amazing panorama before . Finally you head to Cuenca which is adorable and beautiful. The main sites like places mayor and the hanging houses are the main focus . One thing is that they offer an hour and half for lunch in the local restaurants. I just skipped it and saw the amazing views . Let me me say that Fernando our guide was so adorable and friendly and very knowledgeable. Amazing your guide .
Fernando is an excellent guide! Very knowledgeable and professional. It was a full day and he was energetic and informative! Great tour!
