Toledo Half-day Tour With St Tome Church & Synagoge From Madrid

Wonderful tour, gave us a really good look at Toledo, Spain. Cathedral was incredible. Toledo is a beautiful historic city. Our guide, Arantxa, was truly great. My wife and I are in our 80’s, with some health issues. Arantxa was constantly checking on us, and even called a taxi to help during walk up steep hill. Arantxa shared her knowledge of Toledo with all. She shifted from several languages effortlessly. She made the tour a very enjoyable experience.

The trip organizer is prompt. Beatrice, tour guide, is very informative and attentive. The tour is worth EE and Toledo is beautiful, the cathedral there is huge and historical.

This turned out to be a full day tour (9-5) and not a half day. The pace was a little slow for me, feels like a half day would have been better. I think the thing that made it feel slow was that there was a single tour guide that spoke everything in Spanish then English, whereas the previous day we did the Segovia and Avila tour which with the same company, it had 2 guides at both cities and it felt like the pace was better like that. The single guide was fun and energetic and did a good job, I just feel like repeating everything twice threw off the pace. But I would still do it again.

Bring water good history of city but was supposed to be an English language tour but Spanish was the main language then the guide translated to English. She was very good despite this.

We were excited to join this tour & I paid the $122+ for my son & I to participate. All communication said the tour begins at 9 am. We arrived at the determined spot only to be told that the bus was about to leave and that we were supposed to be there by 8:15-8:30. Nowhere in any of the communications I received mentioned this. The person behind the counter asked to see the voucher when I told them that there was nothing that told us what time to arrive. It took them a little bit to actually find it themselves. When I said I wanted a refund, they said I had to cancel 24 hours in advance. No apologies. No offer to have the bus wait for us. Just smug indifference. We have done over a dozen tours in multiple countries. In the cases where we couldn't find the group, the operator has called to direct us. In one case, we were too jetlagged & received a message to see if we were joining. We wound up rescheduling and paying for another night. For a tour operator, the lack of concern & wish to make things right means I will look closer at who is actually running the tour. Certainly will never go through this one again. The lack of professionalism for a hospitality based industry is unforgivable.

Oscar was a fantastic tour guide. I have done dozens of tours in Spain, and he is one of the best. Mario also a great driver.

Excellent job by the team of Oscar (the guide) and Pedro (the driver). Toledo is a unique place in the history of World culture, and the half-day trip highlighted most of its important elements. The presentation of our guide was in fluent Spanish and English and was at a very high intellectual level, full of important details that made every point that we visited memorable.

It was very nice and chill. The city was beautifully and it was a interesting tour. I would do it again.

Oscar was an excellent guide - very knowledgeable about Toledo and its history. He helped us understand the Muslim, Jewish and Christian history of the city.

Tour started 1/2 hour late. Audio connection with guide was poor and he could not be heard most of the time. Tour was advertised as 5 hour duration but took close to9 hours. Sat around at end of guided tour for 2 1/2 hours. Despite the above, Toledo is awesome.

The city was absolutely beautiful. It rained all day but it was still lovely. The day could have been better if we were given adequate bathroom breaks. We only got two breaks all day and not enough time for lunch. We only had 35 mins for lunch and by the time we walked around to find food it was not enough time to eat so we ate nothing for lunch. We also did not get enough information about the city. Our receivers did not work well so my son stopped wearing his. It was an exhausting day and we had minimal breaks so it was rather disappointing. However, our guide was nice but didn’t know what to do in the rain. She let us stand outside in the pouring rain while she tried to be refunded for people who didn’t show but she previously purchased tickets for. It was a long rainy day that could have been better if it was more organized. It was very pricey and the tour was not well executed.

We had a great informative tour of Toledo and its history. Oscar, the tour guide was thorough and knowledgeable. He spoke both English and Spanish and did a great job Guillermo, the driver, did a great job driving us there back.

This was a wonderful opportunity to experience the charming city of Toledo. The tour guide we had was engaging, knowledgeable and went beyond expectations as she shared the city.

Full day tour, very knowledgeable tour guide Orangina, good pace, lovely personality, learned alot interesting things. Would recommend!!

Nice overview of Toledo, great tour guide & comfortable bus ride….. but not a half day/6 hours tour as purchased. Tour is actually 8 hours and if you don’t pay 20 Euro for the cathedral you end up with extra 2 hours of free time. This is not clear when you book. That said we enjoyed the tour very much thanks to our excellent tour guide Arantxa (and some luck with comfortable weather). Arantxa kept us a step ahead of other tour groups, avoiding wasting much time in lines. She has an extensive knowledge of Toledo history and shared a lot of information with us. She has a friendly personality and went out of her way to help me coordinate a meeting point so I could eat lunch with some friends . Thanks Arantxa for a great experience in Toledo!

Toledo is SO BEAUTIFUL! The price for this tour was not bad at all for all you get to experience in a day.

Great knowledge and presentation. Able to handle any unique challenges during the day. Pleasant and engaging. A few times we had difficulty understanding everything, but she encouraged our feedback and would repeat if necessary.

Beautiful city with lots of history! Nice tour all around but what really made the difference was the guide, Arantza, who was great: very professional but at the same time personal, made the tour interactive and enjoyable!

When I booked it I somehow did not book the cathedral tour. That mix up was very disappointing. Paid for it on the bus 40 Euros but the app should have taken care of it. Should automatically be included.

Great tour and excellent tour guide. We were offers an opportunity to extend our day and visit the Cathedral. We were undecided, but decided to take the tour guide up on the offer and were glad we did. Loved Toledo.

This was such a great experience. Our tour guide was wonderful and full of knowledge. Did a lot of walking, but enjoyed the wealth of knowledge and sites we viewed.

Our tour guide was kind and considerate but also stood on business. She made sure we were staying hydrated and in the shade as much as possible. She also would tell anyone that tried to cut us in line that they need to join the back of the line. She recognized pick pockets and made sure we did not fall for their tricks. Exactly why a guide is better than a self guided trip in this case. I was the only person doing the half day tour while there were 4 other people doing the full day. The company did not inform me that my tour was being combined with the full day. I learned about this right before I got on the bus as my guide was giving me a bunch of info, almost missed the part where she said the trip ends at 5. Luckily, I did not have any activities planned for the second half of the day. I would just have liked some communication from the tour company ahead of time.

We loved our tour. Our tour guide was excellent, funny and extra knowledgeable. Toledo was beautiful. The only disappointment was the synagogue, there weren’t any representations of anything Jewish remaining.

This travel agent is Excellent. Highly recommended. Try it yourself next time when visiting Madrid.!

Our tour guide Arantxa was friendly and gave us a great tour of Toledo. She was very knowledgeable and helped us figure out how to visit some other sites during the downtime and the optional visit to the cathedral. The website states the tour is 6 hours (half day). We expected to depart at 9 AM and return to the departure point by 3 PM, but we did not leave Toledo until 4 PM and return at 5 PM. The website should be clearer about this. There was also too much downtime for bathrooms when we arrived, snack in the middle of the day, and lunch.

Outstanding, attentive and humorous guide... who packed in an amazing number of facts. Highly recommended... and good value for money, too!

We did enjoy the tour overall, as we tried to make the best of it and Toledo is a beautiful city with beautiful people. However, we found the guide's accent a bit challenging at almost every moment, which made it harder to follow and understand what she was trying to tell us. Additionally, the radios didn’t seem to have enough range, and at certain points, when we were a bit farther from the guide, we couldn’t hear the transmission clearly. I believe this may have been due to the limited range of the equipment.

Of course the town has its charms and magic but the warmth of our guide, Arantxa, made our day! Thank you!

Of all of the cities we visited in Spain, Toledo was our least favorite. To be fair, it was historic and charming, but very hilly, with small streets where you were dodging people, cars or both. The tour itself was fine as bus tours of 40+ people go, my issue was my trip to Spain would have been complete if I missed Toledo. Again, nothing against the tour guide (who was great!) or the tour itself, just not a fan of Toledo. Highly recommend visiting Sevilla, Granada, or just another day to explore Madrid.

Arriving in Toledo, the view of the city is magical. When you walk through the center you immerse yourself in the history of the place. Very beautiful.

As with most tours there is always some "herding" that goes on. Like they tell you to get to the meeting point by 8:30 (for a 9:00 tour) and then you wait in a line on the sidewalk (where there are smokers hanging around etc). At about 5 mins before 9 they then walk you around the block to the bus. All in - not bad but you could actually get there about 8:45-8:50..... So then as other reviewers tell you - that on the bus (on the way to Toledo) the guide then goes one by one to the "1/2 day tour purchasers" and tells you (them) that one of the more important stops is not included and that while most of the rest of the folks go inside you will be waiting around 45 mis unless you pay extra to get inside. But I think that what they do is combine the 1/2 day tour with the full day tour and then try and upsell the 1/2 day people. But there is plenty of shops and restaurants around to easily use your 45 mins up. Plus you save over 45 Euros when you buy the 1/2 day tour instead of the full day tour !!! Other than the Cathedral visit the tour are identical. They do offer to you to go back early if you wanted but you'd miss lunch and the synagogue tour so we opted to stay for the full day at the 1/2 day price !!! Our guide Arantxa did a great job explaining everything. Other reviewers complained about guides having heavy accents etc - are these people for real. So in closing - I would give our guide a solid 4 + * and the tour itself a 3 *

She was very considerate and knowledgeable. She paid attention to all guests and was clear and concise in her delivery.

The city of Toledo was wonderful, yet the organization of 50+ people to get there need to be better, same as for spending 30 minutes at a blacksmith shop when not necessary , much rather time is needed in the walk around of the town

The guide was fabulous. She had an excellent knowledge of everything we saw and was really helpful and friendly. The not so good - Fun and Tickets, the company that runs the tour, has a shambolic way of organising people. We stood on the footpath outside for 40 minutes while groups were sorted and then walked for 10 minutes to the coach. Not good enough.
