Itinerary
After a bus ride of approximately one hour, we will arrive to Toledo, where we will first take a panoramic tour. You will be impressed from the very first moment, as we will go up to the Mirador del Valle, an elevated area from where we will have the best views of the city. At this point you will enjoy a short free time to take as many photos as you wish
we will start a walking tour through the most important areas of the city, passing by places like the Cathedral, the Plaza de Zocodover or the Synagogue of Santa María la Blanca, where we will have the opportunity to access and visit it. Did you know that since 1986 Toledo is considered as World Heritage of Humanity? No doubt, this is synonymous that the city will surprise you. At the end of the guided tour of the city, we will have free time to rest and have lunch, as we will still have time to visit one of the most important wineries in Castilla La Mancha.
After lunch, we will get back on the bus to head towards the oldest winery in the region. Here we will have the opportunity to enjoy a complete wine tourism experience, as well as delve into the art of winemaking in a unique setting, a bicentennial winery that is surrounded by a carefully tended vineyard, where the most prestigious grape varieties in the country are found. Of course, we can't leave without tasting some of its best wines, accompanied by an aperitif. Once we have finished our visit to the winery, we will return to Madrid, where we will finish the tour, very close to the Royal Palace.

Excellent guide Daniel very informative
Loved the pickup location and the views at Toledo were amazing especially from the hill adjacent to the town. And main cathedral was an amazing church and exquisite architecture. I didn’t do the winery or tapas lunch. My biggest issue was the way Julia Tours allocated the tour guide. I signed up for the English guided tour. But what I got was where the guide spoke both Spanish and English. But being more comfortable in Spanish the tour guide Susanna was more heavily presenting in Spanish. There should be 100% English guide for the full day Toledo group and 100% Spanish guide for the full day Toledo group. Making one guide do both prevents me from recommending it to anyone.
Both Susannah and Altina were great. Super impressed with Altina who would became our guide once in Toledo. She could switch seamlessly from Spanish to English. Toledo is a hour from Madrid and lots of streets and history. Take a tour!! Take this tour. We loved the city walk then finished with a great wine and tasting tour. Recommend.
An unforgettable day in Toledo! Our guide Susanna kept us engaged throughout the tour, paying ample attention to the English speaking crowd as well. The Tapas Lunch option is a Plus! Can definitely recommend.
Great day trip from Madrid. Spent the morning walking around Toledo, and our guide Christina was so knowledgeable - giving us so much information. Then we went to a local winery - there were only 4 of us and they opened up the winery for a private tour and tasting - Natalia who showed us around was lovely and so passionate and informative. Definitely recommend this trip if you want to get out of the city for a day
This was a wonderful tour of Toledo. Thenia was very knowledgeable and showed us the architecture and history of this city. The winery was very cool. I enjoyed being walked through the process of making wine and seeing the steps involved.
Very nice experience-1/2 day walking tour of Toledo with about 1hr of “free time.” Then depart to Casa del Valle winery for 3 wine sampling + small cheese/meat plate w/ bread sticks. Expect trip to go from about 9-5 (incl. all travel)
Raquel is an outstanding tour guide. We had an amazing time! Toledo is absolutely beautiful. We had such a great experience at the winery.
Rachel was a lovely and very informative tour guide who made out experience super fun and we highly recommend this experience, very in depth winery tour also.
Great experience!! since the beginning to the end, the tour in Toledo was amazing, a beautiful city, and Raquel, our guide, gave us loads of infos! The winery experience was amazing too, we visited the wine yard, we went trough the process of wine making and had a tasting that was almost worth the whole experience!! highly recommended
Although the tour was quite well organised, and Raquele was a great tour leader, I would have preferred a bit more free time in Toledo seeing this was a full day tour. I felt The Winery Visit could have been better.
Very good experience, visiting Toledo and a winery. Our guide Raquel was very nice and professional. I would recommend to a friend.
It was a great experience. Rachelle was a very knowledgeable and friendly guide. I was not impressed with the winery we visited.
Raquel did a wonderful job of sharing her knowledge of Toledo’s history and architecture, and then took us to a local vineyard for a wine tour.
Very detailed explantation about all of the history and great attention to detail by our host Maria. We also did the wine tour and again our host was fantastic and very knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend.
Trip was very good. The highlight was the winetasting tour with Rachel. She was excellent. We learned more from her than we did from other wine tours we taken all over the world!
We had a wonderful experience. Our guide for Toledo/ vineyard was kind and well spoken. The young lady at the vineyard was knowledgeable and entertaining as well as knowledgeable. A great experience!
Rachel was an excellent tour guide and gave us a clear and in-depth history of Toledo. We stopped off at a winery and met Nathalia who provided an excellent background on the wines from Casa Del Valle - would definitely record d this tour
Highly recommended trip , well organized , great guid Was able to see most important things in Toledo and wine tasting was perfect
We had a good time in Toledo beautiful places and the tour was very organized and the staff very puntual and friendly. Thank you to Mariano and Elias for this wonderful experience
We have selected to go on a gull day trip to Toledo with a detour for wine tasting in Casa de Valle. Toledo was very interesting for a deep multicultural background. A special thanks to guide Rachel for a fantastic day.
We barely made it onto our bus on time, as we got a bit lost. Be early! There is no grace period. My understanding is that if we had missed it, there would be no refund and there would be no way for us to rejoin the group, even if we got ourselves to Toledo. I think it’s important to work with your customer, even when they make mistakes or have troubles. Otherwise, the tour was fantastic! We stopped for a bathroom and shopping break on the way in, which was needed. Once we got to Toledo, we broke off from the rest of the group and had a tour guide with only 5 of us, which is exactly the kind of experience one hopes for. He was very attentive to our questions and knowledgeable about the area, despite only being a guide for a few months. I believe his name was Elias. He also spoke in both Spanish and English for our group. I will say we did not have a lot of free time for lunch. I believe the description makes it sound like you will have an hour, but we had only 35 minutes. And I don’t see how the tour could have gone any faster. So I see this more on the tour company for not providing the correct amount of time, rather than the guide. It would be nice to not rush lunch and also maybe have some time to explore/shop on our own. However, I understand that we did have to get to the winery. The winery was also very nice to see the production process. The wines were well balanced and solid. Again, the only part that was a little difficult was that we were rushed through the tasting process. We were trying the wines with our charcuterie, and once the last wine had been sipped, our guide at the winery dismissed herself and basically our tour was over, leaving no time to finish the wines or charcuterie. It was a little awkward. I’m actually very proud of the English man who stayed at the table and enjoyed himself until he was done because that’s what we’re paying for! I took a huge gulp and got up because I needed time to use the bathroom. The winery guide was very nice though. She even allowed us to try the olive oil, because my husband and I have a special interest in that. Overall, I probably would have rather spent less time touring the production process and more time with the wine. It’s hard to wrangle everyone because they have questions, but I would recommend answering them as you continue walking. The bus driver, Jose?, did a good job, but I still got a bit car sick, so I might recommend Dramamine. And I believe the guide on the bus’s name was Jorge. He was nice, but I do think he was saying a lot more in Spanish than in English, which was harder to hear on the bus. We were very glad for the smaller group overall. Toledo is a beautiful city that you most definitely could spend a few days in.
Easy to get to pick up location. Friendly neighborhood and friendly greeting. Very good tour guide, knowledgeable and clear speaker in Spanish and English. Full day of touring Toledo and Winery. Great experience. Winery included to brief wine tasting and some notes. Highly recommended. A must do.
Raquel has amazing English! We understand both, and she has a near perfect 1:1 translation, which is accommodating for most crowds who visit. She’s very nice and knowledgeable, and she has great energy! Her wine knowledge, too, is quite expansive. ¡Buen trabajo, Raquel!
Raquel is knowledgeable about everything ranging from history to architecture to wine. We had a terrific day in Toledo and at the vineyard. Highly recommend.
our guide Rachel was very sweet and knew very well her stuff!! highly recommend this tour. The visit of the winery was very fun and absolutely breathtaking!
Raquelle was amazing she is so so knowledgeable and very attentive and willing to answer any questions. She is also so funny! It was the perfect way to experience Toledo and enjoy some wine.
muy bien!!! raquel is very nice and she gives a lot of details! she answers to every question very precisely! overall very informative tour and i learnt many things!
Nothing special. Guide was more interested in chatting with her friend. Had basically two stops with explanation in the city, rest just walking.
Great way to get taste of Toledo with a great winery tour to wrap it up. Wear your walking shoes.... Good guides great history lessons
Amazing experience!!! I really recommend this tour! Good to see Toledo in one day and also have some tapas and wine. Great guide and great wine!
Really fun trip!! The coach bus to Toledo was comfy and air conditioned. The guide was very knowledgeable about the city of Toledo. It wasn’t too large of a group, which was nice. The wine tasting was the highlight of the trip, super nice tour guide of the winery, the winery was beautiful, and the wine was amazing. Definitely recommend!!
Amazing views, and wine. Natalia did a great job keeping the group informed and making sure we had fun. The travel from Madrid to the location was very quick and easy. Would book with this group again!
Had an amazing experience on this tour. Really enjoyed the winery and the wine tasting. And learned and saw a lot of amazing things in Toledo.
Amazing views, great information on the tour. Just a heads up, when you leave Toledo, you are not coming back, so shop and experience as much as you can while there. Eat standing up! The winery tour and tasting was amazing!
I really enjoyed the experience and the view was amazing. Had a lot of fun with my friends and the transportation was convenient.
Great commentary of the founding and history of Toledo. Was great fun learning to taste wine from an enthusiastic teacher. Would have liked just little more free time at lunch to wander around the city. Thanks Suzzane for being a great guide.
Good experience and knowledgeable tour guides and friendly service! Would recommend to anyone who wants to know more about wineries
This is a wonderful trip! Toledo is a beautiful place with a rich history. The sights are amazing and there are opportunities to take lots of photographs. Our guide Rachel was very engaging and had an in-depth knowledge of the area and its various historical evolutions. She also knows her wine!!! The winery is set in a gorgeous location and is well worth a visit. The wines are delicious and tasting portions are very generous. Rachel kept us informed and safe at all times. We very much enjoyed this experience and would whole heartedly recommend it.
The whole tour was well planned, very comfortable transportation arrangements with a very cool local guide from Toledo - Raquel. She represents the Toledo vibe perfectly, and I was amazed how intensely knowledgeable and passionate she is about the local history and vineyard business. The main highlight was the vineyard visit for me - definitely recommended!
Well organised, punctual, lots packed in, George was a knowledgeable & friendly guide, good communication, given some time on our own too, really good value for money.
Summary - I would either do a wine tour (with hopefully 2-3 wineries) or a Toledo tour if we were to do it again. There just wasn’t enough time in Toledo to make the drive worth it The guide on our bus was very informative. The guide on our Toledo tour only talked 50% of the time and 50% of that was giving directions. I finally started asking questions. We only entered one building. We hit some traffic on the way there, so not sure how much time that took from our tour time in Toledo. The wine tour was pretty typical for wine tours. The hostess did a pretty good job and the wines were very good. If you want to see a lot of Toledo, don’t do the wine tour and opt for the full day in Toledo tour.
My friend and I were very happy with the tour.Rachel is very knowledgeable about Toledo and about the places and winery that we visited. Very good experience and we had an awesome time!
this was a very beautiful city with rich history. However, I enjoyed the winery the most. Very pleasant personnel and great tastings!
The whole trip was well managed, the staff was very professional. And new how to handle a group. Will definitely recommend and do other tours.
This full-day tour took us on a small sampling of the amazing city of Toledo with a nice wine tasting side trip. The walking tour with Raquel was very informative and eye-opening learning about its rich history. You may wish for more time to shop and explore, but if you’re on the wine tasting tour, you should get something to eat, as the wine tasting tapas only serve to explain their origin and enhance the experience. Do not expect a meal. We had some delicious empanadas and excellent marzipan in Toledo, as thankfully, Raquel did let us know the tapas were not going to be substantial. We sampled two wines and were educated on the winery’s distinctive characteristics as well as their entire process. It was a good trip.
I really enjoyed experience, very nice guide, she helped with questions and gave many pointers to exploring Toledo in future 😎Winery experience was great as well, for wine lovers absolutely recommended 👍
Suzanne was a wonderful host on this great journey to Toledo. We had the full day tour. It includes a short 1 hours bus ride there and back. Many sites were seen and history told. Lots of walking up and down hills as well as stairs. We did have a quick stop going there for coffee, bathrooms and gift store shopping. The lunch was forgettable. I would do the option without.
This tour can only be described as a very boring coach trip. We had little time in Toledo with a Spanish guide who was conducting the tour in English and Spanish. The tour is combined with a full day tour of Toledo. We spent as much time on a coach as we did on the tour we paid for. Best described as a scam.
