Itinerary
In the morning, we will leave Madrid to go to the city of the three cultures, Toledo. We will walk through the streets of a city that has been declared a World Heritage Site since 1986. Its centuries-old churches, synagogues and mosques reflect the unique blend of cultures that shaped its history, while its winding medieval alleys, viewpoints and impressive monuments create an atmosphere that transports visitors back in time.
In the afternoon, we will visit Segovia. We will park very close to the Aqueduct, which will be the first monument we will find in the city. Formed by 167 arches, it is considered one of the best preserved in the world. Segovia’s historic center, also a World Heritage Site, captivates visitors with its medieval streets, majestic cathedral and the imposing silhouette of the Alcázar, a fortress that rises dramatically over the landscape and seems taken from a fairy tale.

This is NOT really a one-day tour. It is actually two separate tours combined into one booking, and the biggest issue is that you return to Madrid in between them. When you’re traveling and trying to make the most of your time in two beautiful cities, every minute matters. Going all the way back to Madrid between Toledo and Segovia takes away valuable sightseeing time. I strongly suggest making this clear in the “What to Expect” section, because I personally would not have booked this tour had I known. Toledo and Segovia are both beautiful and absolutely worth visiting, but they are also difficult to explore with a group of around 50 people and only one tour guide. It would be much more enjoyable and easier to follow if the group were split between two guides. For anyone considering this tour: if you have the opportunity to dedicate a full day to each city, do it—they are both absolutely worth it! If you don’t have that much time, I would recommend looking for a tour that travels directly from Toledo to Segovia instead of returning to Madrid in between.
If we had looked at a map it might have dawned one was north and one was south - it was two tours on one day. We were happy that we saw enough, a flavour of each town. Segovia was the better half to our surprise. Gigi in Segovia was a fun guide who spoke clearly and kept the unruly travellers in line. Comfy, quiet bus. A bit too much travelling time, but we could have planned better.
Tour was very informative, places were great and tour guides were excellent Flor & Andalucia including the driver Antonio. Highly recommended. Thank you Amigo tours!
The Trip to Toledo is a short one from Madrid; however, the scenery is simply breathtaking. The historic city is amazing and no amount of pictures will do justice. All in all it was about half a day spent on this magnificent trip. We took about an hour and a half break before we went to Segovia. The trip there reminded me of Denver Colorado as we could see mountains on both sides of the road. The castle in Segovia is spectacular. The Disney Castle is modeled after this castle. It was literally stepping back in time. I highly recommend going to both places. Just be prepared to walk a lot.
Wonderful esperience, tour guide professional and nice, bus very comfortable and super organization.
Very poor communications from guide. Guide spoke poor English and spent more time talking to Spanish members of group. Cross interference from other wireless groups. Guide walked fast and group spread out causing fear of being lost or left behind.
Had Daniella for the morning tour of Toledo and Matteo for the Segovia portion, both guides were fantastic. The Segovia tour was particularly interesting and worth the price it was the perfect length to see the sights went in the cathedral, the castle and the aquaducts. Tour busses were comfy with AC
Jorge led this mornings tour to Toledo and Mariana led the afternoon tour to Segovia. Both were friendly, professional and were very knowledgeable. My suggestion for Julia travel is to make the customer aware that these are actual two different tours. We bought our tickets on City Bus. Everyone arrives at the Julia tour office and goes to Toledo and returns approximately at 1:30. We had to return at 2:50 to embark on the Segovia portion. The Segovia trip does not allow any time for shopping or time to eat anything in Segovia. I think it would be much better to have gone to Toledo as we did, then go to Segovia, stop there to eat or build in an hour or two of free time for the attendees. Segovia was great but too rushed. We were very happy with Jorge, Mariana, and Miguel, our bus driver.
Everything went good, Tina and Mariana are very good tour guide, very knowledgeable and learn about history of Spain.
It was a good experience with nice people and interesting information.
We had a great tour guide Mateo for Segovia. I would recommend a full day for each to have a more leisurely day. We did half day each and the morning portion was a bit too crowded. The pickup area was a bit disorganized but ultimately smooth. Note: if you do two half-day tours on the same day, you are dropped back in Madrid for an hour before boarding for the second half. Would rather have spent more time at the destinations and less time driving on the same day. Live and learn. Beautiful cities with some spectacular settings and fun city streets.
Great experience. Very patient tour guide
Good Tour Guide: very informative and clear. Beautiful experience
It was an very interesting and nice day! I learned a lot about both cities.
Great experience with Julia travels. Aitana (Toledo) and Cristina ( Segovia) were awesome.
Mateo was a funny, knowledgeable, and extremely accommodating guide! Segovia was beautiful and they made it easy to enjoy :).
The morning time to Toledo was not that satisfied, since the guider’s English is not that good, hardly to understand. But afternoon’s guider George was excellent, he explained quite detailed about the history of Sagovia and his accent is easy to be understood.
Very fast tour without and opportunity to stop for buying some souvenirs from Toledo and Segovia, also neither sufficient time for lunch, to much people in the areas. The price we pay it not what we think we get in these tour. Both Julià and Beatriz are very experienced about the areas. You should evaluate because as I said we paid a lot money for that experience. You have to consider that the people who get these tour are from different nationalities, and also the group was about 45 people, consider make a group about 20 or 25 so they have plenty of time, and more easy to visit the areas.
Great tour to get an orientation to the area around Madrid and its history. Guide was great at getting the history of area to come alive and be relevant
Great experience. We rush a little bit, that is something that should be reviewed. For the rest it is highly recommended.
I had a fantastic 5-hour tour in Segovia with our guide, Mariano. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and made the history of the city easy to enjoy. We visited all the main and was very enjoyable. Highly recommended if you want to truly experience Segovia!
The guide, tour, and transportation were great, however this being advertised as a full day tour, which I believe is misleading as it wasn’t clearly mentioned in the description and barely mentioned in the itinerary that the mobile site hides and as such easily missed, see other reviews in this. This is a half day tour to Toledo, back to Madrid, then ride Segovia. We arrived back at their office in Madrid later than anticipated, with barely 30 minutes to walk somewhere to eat and before being due for check in for the second half, which means running to the office, running back to the under underground parking to hop on over to another bus with another guide. Too stressful. Recommending with caveats.
Great experience and coverage for a full day tour. Toledo and Segovia were so beautiful and wished there was more time. Just a bit bummed due to the rain but no fault of Julia Travel on that one. Clara and Matteo were both excellent guides knowledgeable and friendly with their own styles. Nonetheless, both deserved 5 stars for their clarity and Communication. Although abit pricey, I would say for two long bus trips out to different locations, it is worth the money.
Really great tour experience with Clara and Matteo. They were friendly, professional, and informative. They gave good historical and cultural background of the cities and sites visited, and even pointed out the best photo spots!
Book this of you want to feel RUSHED and not enjoy your trip. We were 5 mins late to check in at the office of Julia Travel for our Toledo trip and we were left behind not offering any solutions but to pay 50% of the fees. There was a large group going out of the office and to my mistake, I waited for the whole group to get out of the door before going in. It was apparently the group going to Toledo! The front desk lady was almost mocking us and didnt care at all. We still went to Segovia that afternoon and was mixed into the group who mainly spoke Spanish. The guide tried but unfortunately struggled switching to English. We lost interest quickly since we also had to hear the Spanish translation first then english. We also tried to understand but really she was struggling. Something that you dont expect from a tour guide especially from a country’s capital. The next day, we went to Toledo. Again, rushed… no time to really enjoy the place. You will feel that this company is just after money/business. Unfortunately there were 2 older age couples who was left behind in Toledo for such B.S. reason of “we have to continue our journey”. The lady left her purse in the bus which made me worried if they have the means to get back to Madrid from Toledo. A group of Americans notified the guide that we are missing 2 people and all he said was “I know, but we have to continue our journey. I actually saw them in the square but not inside the bus”. I really felt so bad… the guide knew we were missing 2 older couple and didnt even care. Or atleast tell everyone that hey we are missing people can we atleast wait for 5 - 10 mins. Overall, these experience from Julia Travel is the worst I have experienced throughout my month long stay in Spain. AVOID THEM AT ALL COST! They will not care about you.
Both cities, Toledo and Segovia, are worth visiting. The tour is a little hectic, will all the things they try to put in there, but it is worth it. Our Segovia tour with Mariana is more memorable. She is very knowledgeable of the history of Segovia. We totally enjoyed her tour.
It was a learning and enjoyable trip. The tour guides were exceptional. I highly recommend this tour.
The trip was wonderful, and the view is amazing. Having more time to actually enjoy the town(s) would have been great. The Cathedral in Toledo was worth it. I must comment the size of the tour group was too large. There were probably 60 tourists for a single tour guide. This created a lot of difficulties as the group constantly got spaced out and one felt rushed to keep. Staff was great but the tour group size could be cut in half. The tour of castle didn’t even permit a group as large as ours to tour as a single group. The group had to be broken in half. 1/2 toward while the other half waited then vice versa. Everyone lost 20 minutes seeing parts of the town.
Great tour, both tour guides were very knowledgeable, Clara for Toledo and Mariano for Segovia. The headsets is a good idea, allowing you to wonder around and still hear the guides.
Marciano and Julia were amazing!!! We did the Toledo and Segovia day trip …truthfully it was a lot of walking -but didn’t feel like it because of strategically placed breaks in between. I traveled with my senior citizen parents and 2 young kids -we all had a great time ! 🥰
the tour was great definitely saw the iconic spots from both Toledo & Segovia, Tour guides was great too the only downside from this tour was that some of the staff from Juliá travel office were not very accommodating they don't give clear instructions regarding which group you should go,like in my case I joined the half day Toledo & half day Segovia tour, while waiting at the office it was too crowded so you really have to pay attention or its a must to ask the staff cause at one point the tour guide will just shout which tour they will take in my case I thought that they will annouced it like the whole tour you're supposed to go (toledo/segovia) while waiting a tour guide shouted Toledo half day!! Toledo half day!! so ithought it was meant for those tourist who only chose Toledo as their destination I was waiting to hear Toledo/Segovia,I almost missed my tour, good thing I went to the front desk and asked and the staff told me the group that left earlier was my group🤦♀️ I asked her what I should do she just pointed me to the next guide who left and told me to follow him without giving clear instructions as to what I have to do.I was having second thought cause all the joiners of that group had the blue ticket and mine was a pink one,So I took all the courage an d asked the tour guide and he told me to check in the parking I went one by one to all the buses that was there and thankfully found my group and they didn't move yet to Toledo I was literally the last one left🙈 Another concerned I had was when We had the tour in Segovia it would have been better if the guide will tell ahead of time to take photos of the Aqueduct/or with the Aqueduct cause there is no way you are going back in that direction I am a solo traveler so its difficult for me to take a photo of myself with the iconic spot I have to asked someone to take a photo of me so as I can have a decent photo for memory sake.I do have photos of the site but without me on it🤣 also the downside of this tour was that We were not able to try some of the delicacies of Toledo & Segovia which I was looking forward about this trip.I hope this could help to make some improvement with this kind of tour in the future.Overall it was a great experience still👍
Christina at Segovia saved the reputation of the agency. The guide at Toledo left us at the square and we had to find the bus by ourselves. She hadn’t informed us about the meeting point for the bus and she was also rude. She didn’t even tell us her name!
This was not a 'full day' tour, instead it's 2 'half day' tours, which I only found out after I check in fir the 1st tour. So 1st tour goes to Toledo, and you go back to Madrid, and have about 1 hour for lunch on your own, then you go back for the Sergovia tour. Both tours ended up being dual language tours, so the tour guides spoke both Spanish and English during the tours and it seems to me the majority of the both tours are Spanish speaking. None of the above are problems to me. In terms of the dual language tours, as long as the guides are fluent in the languages. Toledo tour.... Our guide Nacho from the very first interaction was rude and unfriendly. His English has a very strong accent, so when he started speak English, right after he finished with Spanish, it would sound like he was still speaking Spanish! By the time I realized he's speaking English and adjusting to his accent, he's either done talking, or switched back to Spanish!! So I didn't get much out of his talking. Also, he was talking more in Spanish compare to English. I would give Nacho 0 out 5. Sergovia tour..... Our guide, Christina, was a 180° change from Nacho. She was professional and friendly. Her English is very good, you can easily hear the distinction between the language change. What a relief!! I understood everything she said. It rained a lot during earlier part of the tour and a few people wanted to go back, but she handled the situation very well. I would give her 5 out of 5.
We did a full day Viator tour of Toledo and Segovia. It ended up turning into 2 half day tours with the central meeting point being the tour agency. The buses were clean and comfortable. Clara was our tour guide for the Toledo part an excellent guide from boarding the bus, talking up through our itinerary, pointing out info during the journey etc. Her English was perfect.
Had a wonderful time with our tour guide Jose Luis in Segovia. It end up being a beautiful day. Buildings were beautiful and view was amazing
Kate aka Catherine was an awesome guide. She made sure to cover all the important sites and places and also recommended few places to eat. If you are in Madrid - give a shot to Julia Tours and Travels
Took a combination tour of Toledo and Segovia. We had heard much more about Toledo, and it was nice. The hidden jem of the tour was Segovia...clearly not as popular tour as our group was only about a 1/3 of our Toledo group. We only knew about the Aquaduct going in, but the whole city was quaint, and medieval with a Tuscany vibe. Our Julia tour guide, in Segovia, was engaging and did a great job balancing her duties in Spanish and English.
The guide was good but the tour in Spanish and English should be separated as it takes up a lot of time to repeat in both languages. Hence reducing the time at the monument. Felt a little rushed. I wish they had given little free time.
It was a wonderful experience… I was able to get to know these two cities and enjoy all the attractions they bring. I have felt very happy and grateful…
The guide Mariana was very nice, she was great and answered our questions.
The tour guide Mateo is very friendly and meticulous, and his explanations are also very detailed. This day trip was fulfilling and interesting.
The tour guide Mateo was very friendly and enthusiastic, introduced many things, and provided enough free time.
Little time to do all the activities
The second tour we made to Segovia was great, Matheus gave good explanations, gave a conference at all stops, to confirm that all the tourists were there, everything went well The first tour, with Tania or Tana, she did not confer any time if we were all together, No conference, in no moment! She gave us a few free minutes and set the date for 12:30, we arrived at 12:36 They weren't there anymore, nobody called us, we made five calls and nobody was in the office I sent a message on Instagram We finally got a phone call and we got sent back by train . We had train and uber expenses The agency, after some stress, let us take the Segovia tour the next day, because because we were abandoned, we did not arrive for the tour the same day A day of vacation and travel had an unpleasant downtime due to a careless guide
If you like visits where everything is done in record time, they only give you options to go to the bathroom, not even a moment to buy something to drink despite the heat. If you are into this type of tours, this is the perfect one. The guide in Segovia took us so quickly that there were no stops for taking photographs; he continued on his route while the whole group dispersed to go at a slower pace. I really do not recommend it.
Wonderful experience, we loved the guide Mariana on the tour to Segovia
The visit to Segovia was excellent, the guide Mateo was friendly and patient. The Toledo guide was a little rushed and did not specify on the map where he was leaving us and this created anxiety that we lost in the same streets of Toledo.
Incredible! Very good guides (and with a good sense of humor).
Mariana was our guide, and we found her work to be excellent; I went with my family, and there were six of us wearing the Colombia shirt. Thank you very much.
