This was a fun evening and an easy way to have a delicious group dinner. I would go back and try their other courses. We went to the tapas course.

What an incredible evening! I booked Taste of Spain: Tapas Cooking Class with Bottomless Wine Pairing at The Clubhouse in Madrid, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of my time in Spain. I arrived on my own and discovered there were only two of us attending. I honestly thought they might cancel the class due to the small numbers, but they didn’t. Instead, they delivered an absolutely exceptional experience, with the same enthusiasm, professionalism and attention to detail you would expect from a full class. That alone speaks volumes about their commitment to their guests. What made the evening so special was that this wasn’t simply about following recipes or preparing a few tapas. It was about genuinely understanding Spanish food, its ingredients, its history and the culture behind it. The instruction was outstanding — clear, informative, engaging and wonderfully relaxed. We learnt not just how to prepare the dishes, but why particular ingredients and techniques were used, how to handle ingredients properly, and how to bring out their best flavours. There was a real emphasis on understanding the cooking process rather than simply following instructions. The fascinating explanations about the origins and history of the different tapas added another dimension to the experience. The wines were equally thoughtfully presented, with insights that made the pairings feel like an integral part of the culinary journey rather than simply an accompaniment. Throughout the evening, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming and relaxed, striking the perfect balance between professional instruction and genuine hospitality. Everything was delivered with such knowledge, passion and enthusiasm that you felt completely immersed in Spanish culinary culture. It was both an enriching learning experience and a thoroughly enjoyable evening. I came away having learnt far more than I expected, with a deeper appreciation of Spanish cuisine and some wonderful memories. To the team at The Clubhouse, thank you for not cancelling a class of just two people and, more importantly, for making us feel that our experience mattered every bit as much as it would have with a full house. If you’re visiting Madrid and want something that goes beyond the usual tourist experience, I cannot recommend this class highly enough. Whether you’re an enthusiastic home cook, a complete beginner or simply someone who loves food, wine and culture, this is an experience worth making time for. Five stars simply aren’t enough. Absolutely brilliant!
This was, by far, the best cooking class ever! The atmosphere was amazing with hands-on cooking overseen by a great chef and efficient assistants. The food was delicious, as was the cava and the wine. I highly recommend this Spanish cooking experience.
Such a fun time!! Definitely recommend trying if you’re visiting Madrid. The chefs there were great!
A fabulous night of fun and great food. The staff were amazing, and we have recipe and tips to take home. Highly recommend!
Very fun, they prepped all the items so it was easy and delicious. Fun music, great teachers, all the cava and wine you wanted and they served a delicious dessert at the end!
Fabulous experience. Well worth the money. Delicious food. So much fun.
This is a very lively class due to the unlimited glasses of wine. The sit down meal was very fun and tasty.
This was an amazing experience. The recipes were amazing, fun to socialize with other travelers. Highlight of my trip.
An absolutely fantastic experience. The food was impeccable and the energy of the place was electric. Couldn’t ask for a brighter crew, a delicious dinner and nonstop excellent wine.
Fun evening cooking and eating. A lot of food, not just what we cooked but even more- go hungry. We cook as couples. One doing one part and the other doing another on each plate. Guide spoke in both english and spanish. Two guides helping us. Truly bottomless wine during the time there.
From the start we were welcomed , everyone was friendly, the cooking class was so interesting and fun, then the dinner was amazing. Can’t wait to make the recipes at home for family and friends!
This experience was so much fun! Bennie the chef was so charismatic and brought the energy to the cooking class. Richard kept the glasses filled and the food was really good too!
This is the second cooking class I’ve attended here and can’t speak highly enough of the experience. Pau is a wonderful guide, and the other staff are warm and welcoming. We got to cook tapas from all parts of Spain and made some great friends in the class with which to share the experience. The unlimited wine is truly unlimited and you get to eat the tapas as you go as well as a main course at the end. Worth repeating.
Overall, a very lovely experience! Our teacher was very knowledgeable and friendly, leading a great class where we learned a lot and laughed a lot. Although it was a bit expensive, the bottomless wine and amazing food made up for it! It wasn’t too long or too short, they do most of the prep for you, so it’s not as much a “technical workshop” as it is a fun social experience. It was great to cook alongside others and get to know my classmates as well. The groups weren’t too big, so there was plenty of personalized attention and assistance.
This was wonderful! Nico was an amazing chef and guide through cooking! This is amazing to do if you want to have fun!!!
This will remain a HIGHLIGHT of our trip! Nicko and Benny made this an amazing experience. The food, the wine, the music, all of it was TOP NOTCH. What I especially appreciated was that they took such great care of my allergy concerns. We highly recommend this experience.
I love taking cooking classes on my travels around the world and this one was fantastic. Benji at The Cooking Clubhouse was a lot of fun and did a fantastic job explaining the different regions of Spain, what we were making and the flavors of each unique region of the country. There are wines he recommends and there are non-alcoholic beverages too. I would’ve been happy with just the tapas but the team also prepares a main course and a dessert for you to enjoy at the end of the class. I couldn’t finish the entree but the dessert, a light and airy crema Catalàna was incredible. We made 5 tapas as part of the class. Our menu included mini chorizo sausages cooked in apple cider, pan con tomate, stuffed peppers, garlic shrimp and sautéed mushrooms over bread.
The customer service was phenomenal, the actual facility was gorgeous, and the food was divine. They had the best playlist and amazing wine- if it wasn’t the last night of our trip we would have rebooked another class!
This was just the best. So much fun. 3 plus hours of a lovely time and cooking and just having a great time. The guys made it. They were very knowledgeable but also fun and attentive to what we were doing and the pouring. Wine was more pouring than pairing! Not complaining. Fab glass of Cava on arrival. Everything was ready for us - chopped and ready to cook which was great. We made 5 tapas and all were pretty good. If you don't like garlic don't do this! After making the tapas we went downstairs to eat where also another meal and some wine pairing. Lovely quality wine. Just so worth every penny and minute. Highly recommend and would 1000% do it again.
This was one of my favorite things while in Madrid! Benny was our chef/instructor that evening. Class holds about 20, but there were only 3 of us! What a wonderful private and intimate cooking experience!
This was a super fun night out. The bottomless experience was definitely a plus. My glass was never empty! We learned so many tips about how to make the sauces and side dishes. The main dish was odd though . It was like a meatloaf like dish with pork that I have never seen in any Spanish place before . (and I lived in Spain for two years ) The tapas were the main hit for my friend and daughter and me! I highly recommend it.
Book this experience don’t hesitate!!! So much fun with our entire group and Benny our chef was knowledgeable and made sure we all had a good time. The food was delicious, definitely do the olive oil and jamón tasting portion. Delicious!!!
The head chef, Benny, and his team were fantastic. Great food, music, and the vibe was energetic and fun. Highly recommend!!!
Such a great experience at Cooking Clubhouse with Benny and the whole staff. A definite trip highlight - the cooking, the wine, the dining - highly recommend!
I do this class with my mum and sister. We had the best time!!! The food was amazing and the staff were so friendly. They kept are glasses full the whole time !!! They were very knowledgable and ensure the energy was high the whole time. I would highly recommend this experience.
One of the best experiences I have ever done. The food was sooo amazing. They were able to accommodate for non alcoholic beverages.
This is a must do event when visiting Madrid! This was my second class with them and it was wonderful. Food and company was great! Even if traveling alone don’t hesitate to take the class.
Really enjoyed the evening. Made 5 different recipes. Well run and totally bottomless drinks. Great meal at the end. Benji- a danish cook lead our session and was fun and informative. A nice way to have a meal and to interact w fun people
We had an amazing experience. Benji made the evening fun and festive. This was by far one our favorite evenings in Madrid. The class was interactive, learning to make tapas and then enjoying a meal in the beautiful wine cellar. We would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Madrid!
My adult son and I thought this was a top highlight of our time in Madrid. Benny and his team of chefs were professional, helpful, and most of all, fun. Each cooking station was meticulously organized making it easy for us to focus on the cooking. We ate dinner afterward in a lovely rustic brick room with loads of ambiance and had wonderful conversation with other participants. With the recipe book provided after the class, we are excited to make the recipes at home for the rest of the family!
We had an amazing experience at the cooking clubhouse. The team was great and Benny took time to explain everything, sometimes 3 times for us. The food was delicious. We would definitely do it again the next time we visit Madrid.
Had an amazing time at the Tapas Cooking Class. It was really hands on, with lots of guidance and tips throughout. The food was really delicious and the cava was continually topped up. It was such a fun experience and Javi was brilliant. Highly recommend it.
We actually did the paella experience not the tapas and it was wonderful. Benjy our chef/instructor was so welcoming, knowledgeable, and really made the experience something special. From the beginning to the end he explained what we were doing, all of the ingredients were prepared and ready in small bowls to be added so that we could focus on the cooking and not prep. I made the seafood and my partner made the chicken and both were wonderful. After they cooked, we sat down to eat them with other foods prepared by Benjy that were all good— not to mention the wine pairings. And it was my partner’s birthday that made it all the more special.
No cooking experience required No pressure-fun time You eat what you make Plus a dinner/dessert made by them
Fantastic food, great ambience, fun chef/instructor. The wind kept flowing and the laughs kept coming. Highly recommend.
I had a marvelous evening! I felt welcome as soon as I walked inside. Food was wonderful, wine was wonderful. The chef is passionate about his craft, and I learned so much. This was a terrific experience for me as a solo traveler. I was able to have deep conversation with interesting people and a comfortable, relaxed, expertly prepared meal.
An extremely enjoyable experience with friendly and happy staff. Turning out 5 separate Tapas was a rewarding experience and the way it was set up made for nice conversation with newfound friends. Will have fun memories of the evening and with the recipes in hand will anticipate taking such to my kitchen.
It was a great experience and so much fun. We made 5 tapas and ate them all. The instructors were absolutely wonderful. They were there to help every step of the way. Each couple had their own cooking station and all the ingredients were prepared and ready to use. Oh did I mention the wine or cava were endless. We then enjoyed a chef prepared meal and dessert downstairs . The atmosphere was fun and festive. I would definitely do this again!!
We took this tapas cooking class with four kids (ages 11–15) and every single one of us loved it. The hosts were funny, engaging, and wonderfully attentive—our stations stayed spotless and the adults’ wine glasses magically stayed full. We cooked five small, quick, and delicious dishes, which meant we got to enjoy a wide variety of Spanish flavors throughout the class. A highlight for the kids was learning how to flambé—such a fun, memorable moment! At the end, we all sat together at a beautifully set table to enjoy a main course and dessert prepared by the professionals. It truly felt special and was one of the highlights of our entire trip to Spain. Highly recommend!
This was a very fun cooking class! Learning to flambé was a blast and made for some fantastic photo ops. It’s fun because you make a few small dishes so you get to eat along the way. It was so well organized with our hosts cleaning up as we went answering questions and serving wine. Definitely a highlight of our trip to Madrid
Fantastic experience. Hosts were amazing. Great fun and great food. Would highly recommend for anyone wanting to know more about local cuisine. Worth every penny
Fantastic time! We enjoyed making and eating the various tapas. The dinner portion served afterwards was also great.
Super fun class. Very reactive. Learned some great techniques and what we made was all delicious! Staff was very helpful and we made new friends in the class
Benny our chef was great. He made sure we all had fun as a group while showing us how to make our tapas. Our dinner and dessert was delicious too.
Amazing experience! The location, staff and class were great. A must do if you are looking for a cooking class in Madrid. Inez and team did an excellent job teaching and educating while having fun. 5 stars!
Benny was the best host for this cooking class. He was funny, serious, joking and all around fun! I don’t care for cooking, but Benny made it super fun, even for me. His assistants were a great addition to cooking. It was the perfect night! Thank you
It was great!!! I’d definitely do it again!! The hosts were awesome, and they were very accommodating to people’s dietary preferences and restrictions. If you’re on the fence about booking and you see this review, BOOK IT!
Got cancelled the day before as apparently there was a mix up between them and Viator. They did offer us an alternative experience but we were flying home so couldn't use it. Not sure why given the 24 hours notice they couldn't have still run it. Gutted, was our last night and we were really looking forward to it.
Fabulous. Prepare for a very fun evening. Met great people, learned some interesting recipes and drank a lot of wine! They were completely able to accommodate any allergies and/or preferences. The couple across from us were gluten/lactose free, beside us vegan and I am vegetarian. They had each station set up individually so no issues at all. The recipes were easy and fun to make the. We proceeded downstairs to a beautiful wine cellar room and ate our creations as well as 2 of theirs. Was well worth the $ and the climb up the hill! Pau and Benji were terrific at helping us while refilling glasses and doing the clean up. The music was great. All in all a great evening.
