Juliene was an excellent guide. He knows so much and showed us so much. It was a pleasure. Doing the tour was a recommendation from a friend and so glad she told us about it.

The main guide was wonderful and very enthusiastic. However, she let another guide explain about half the art. She was learning but it really ruined the tour for us. There was no personality and she wasn’t very knowledgeable. I would not take this tour again.
We had Esther as our guide, an Art PHD, with vast knowledge and passion. We had an Educational experience and a very good time.
Knowledge of the guide was fabulous
We had a wonderful street art tour with Yago in Lavapies, learning much about the unique history and value to the community. Because we were there during the street art festival, we were able to see several artists working on their murals and talk to them about their technique and the meaning behind their art. What joy the art brings to the neighborhood!
I have done several street art tours in a variety of cities. Esther added so much to what I had learned previously. She shared her knowledge from her studies as well as her personal experience in both the field of street art and with the local community through which we walked. This was valuable time spent.
She was very knowledgeable and passionate with the storytelling about art and local cultural history. She was patient with questions and stopping to take photos. The route is perfect because it ends within walking distance to a market with local food vendors.
Our guide Julian was knowledgeable and passionate about street art. He made the tour enjoyable and informative. I have gained a new appreciation for Street Art and would recommend this tour to anyone, even those who are new to Street Art like myself.
We were lucky to be guided by Estelle who is an academic specialising in street art. We learned so much.It was colourful, funny, informative and thought provoking. This is art made relevant and vibrant. Thoroughly recommended for all ages.
Prior to this tour, I knew nothing about street art. Our guide Yago was incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the street art. It is impossible to not develop an appreciation for the art form. We learned a lot within a short span of time and about Madrid itself. After walking around the neighborhood, we spray painted tote bags as mementos. Gracias Yago por ser un excelente guia!
Estelle was extraordinary! What an introduction to the "other" art of the world. Her passion was contagious, her knowledge of this and all art was inspiring. We continued to seek out street art in Paris and remember this wonderful, unique experience. PUT THIS ON YOUR LIST OF MUST SEES!
Fantastic guide, great information, very knowledgable and passionate about the topic. He responded very well to the wishes, questions and interests of the group. Highly recommended!
Julian is a great guide and has a wonderful way of telling the stories behind the street art while teaching you about the culture of street art. He made the 2 hr walk fly by! Would highly recommend this tour to any one- its entertaining, educational & fun!
Our guide, Santiago, was enthusiastic, knowledgeable & fun. He clearly had a passion for street art, its origins and artists. We highly recommend this tour.
This tour was fantastic - my only regret is not having taken it at the start of our trip so as to notice more in our wanderings around Madrid. Santiago is a wonderful guide - enthusiastic, warm, engaging, and a true aficionado of street art and its culture. Very highly recommended!!!!
We had a great experience with our guide Yago! He was knowledgable , passionate had very good English and made this a really fun and engaging experience He also gave us quite a few tips about where to dine and what to do - fantastic tour all together
Esther exceeded all our expectations. She was friendly, experienced and very informative. We learned so much and saw things we would have otherwise walked right past. A wonderful way to experience Madrid.
What a great tour! Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly, enthusiastic and so good at involving the participants in his guiding. Fantastic job! And the street art was very interesting. We will highly recommend this tour.
This was such an interesting way to see an area of Madrid we probably would not have otherwise visited. Our guide was knowledgeable and engaging and shared a lot of personal insights about street art and its place in the culture of the area. Highly recommended!
Our tour was fascinating and our guide were first-rate -- he was very friendly and knowledgable and his enthusiasm was contagious. We saw and learned a lot.
Santi was a fantastic guide! It was clear that he loved the area and the art and he made the experience so fun. This tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Spain!
Hector was a fantastic guide! Having the tour led by a real street artist made it much more special. Highly recommend this tour as a great way to explore the Lavapiés neighborhood and appreciate Madrid’s street art culture.
Amazing art. The pace was a bit slow (but may here been because of the large group). Would have liked more history, context and info about the artists
This was a great tour- we happened to be there when several artists were painting new pieces for an upcoming festival, so had the chance to talk to them about their work. Outside of that, we got a good feel for the city and the art that decorated it
Great tour to get to know lavapies and get a feel for the local art and issues. It’s nice that it’s in the morning, as the area is less crowded and you have a clear view of the art!
Great tour with a local street artist, who grew up in the Lavapies neighborhood and still has strong ties to the community. He knows his way around in „his“ barrio and shares a lot of insider information about his art work as well as of other artists he knows personally. Get ready for a wall full of cool pieces and great fun in Lavapies.
Thank you to the guides for the street art tour of Lavapiés on Thursday. Excellent way to explore this neighbourhood. Guides were fantastic in sharing their knowledge of the artists, their concepts and some local creative initiatives. Next time I’m back in Madrid I will definitely do another one of their tours. Highly recommend.
Really cool opportunity to see a neighborhood we might not have seen otherwise. Our guide was new but we still loved seeing the neighborhood and getting to try spray painting ourselves!
Both of us adults & 3 children - teenagers and younger loved this tour. Guided by the very knowledgeable film-maker Marios we learnt lots about different styles, the narrative behind the works and about the artists themselves. It greatly aided our appreciation of each creation. Finished by meeting one of the street artists at the end. Highly recommend.
My wife and had a very WOW street art experience with our fabulous guide Santiago on a drizzly day in Madrid. The rain could not dampen Santiago's amazing enthusiasm and charm. We had a fantastic 2 hours exploring the Lavapies district which is filled with scores of street art of all types. Santiago knows many of the artists personally which enabled him to share relevant insights into the meaning of the art. We have toured street art in many cities (London, Lisbon, Miami and Cape Town) and the Madrid scene is as good as any. We ended the day at the Mercado de San Fernando where the Pyramid Collective had a pop up store where we met a street artist and were able to purchase some art. All in all, a fantastic experience and we would highly recommend Cool Tours Spain and Santiago!!
Our guide Santiago was great. Very knowledgeable and passionate about street art. He turned the tour into a little adventure for us. Culminating in a little attempt at our own graffiti. It was great to be able to discover parts of Madrid we wouldn’t have otherwise explored. Thank you, Santiago and team!
If you are looking for something that isn’t about all the stereotypical things tourists do, this is a great option. Gerrardo did an excellent job of allowing the group to view Lavapies through the lens of street art.
Really cool experience and a neighborhood we would not have gone to otherwise. It was awesome having an actual street artist as our guide and getting to see his work. It added really nice color to the experience.
We went on this wonderful grafiti tour. Javier who manages the coumpany is great and very efficient. We had a 2 hour tour which was interesting, in a neighbourhood we would prabably never see and understand without this tour. Thank you for an experience we loved and for a wonderful.and peaceful 2 hours.
This tour was terrific! Our guide Santi is knowledgeable, friendly and engaging. He showed us wonderful, very recently completed, murals sanctioned by the local street art festival, as well as pointing out the not-sanctioned art that is found all over. He gave us a thoughtful and heartfelt tour of this truly local neighborhood.
A brilliant street art tour! Hector, our guide was so sincere and kind. He really went above and beyond with sharing his art and the street art way of life with us. Very open and encouraging. We got such a great insight and saw some cool art. We spent the rest of our trip recognising the art too. Would wholeheartedly recommend this walking tour - thank you Hector! :-)
We have been on several street art tours and this one was by far the best of any of them. Hector was an amazing guide. He is a street artist himself, was born and raised in the neighborhood and had great insights into the culture and art. We highly recommend the tour and in particular Hector as guide.
Our tour guide was Julia. She was extremely informative and super nice. My family enjoyed the experience tremendously!!!
We had a fantastic tour of the street art throughout the Lavapies neighbourhood of Madrid. Hector was an excellent guide and his background as a street artist allowed him to give us an authentic understanding of street artists. The pace of the tour was just right and the value for the price was very good. Hector happily answered all of our questions and we felt that we came away with a much better understanding of street art in general, but also of the life and culture of that neighbourhood in Madrid. We found ourselves looking out more for street art during the rest of our stay.
Julia was very informative. I highly recommend the tour. It was beautiful art and a nice stroll around an interesting neighborhood.
I have been on numerous street tours basically shown us grafitti and belabored the explanation. I had looked at pictures online and there was much better art. We ended up going off on our own and it was a complete waste of money for me. I would love a partial refund.
So interesting! Our guide was great - it was interesting to learn about the role of street art in lavapies and to experience a part of the city we would not otherwise have explored.
My husband and a friend of ours booked Javier for a street art guided tour. Javier was just amazing. So outgoing, in sync with the street art scene in Madrid, which btw, is pretty mind blowing. I very much had hoped to view the street art in a place called La Tabacalera, but it was not yet opened, but Javier was able to allow us to get in, and all I can say is WOW. Javier is very passionate about the art scene, and the art community in Madrid. He speaks great English, has so much knowledge. We just had the best time.
What a wonderful morning. Santiago was an amazing guide, walking us through the streets and pointing out/explaining things along the way. would highly recommend the walk
This was a perfect tour - we were told it would be a small group and it was - just the 2 of us and another person. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and you could see he loved the art and was familiar with all the artists as well as their history and their work. I highly recommend this tour if you have any interest in seeing how a neighborhood has been transformed by the art on its walls, windows and doors.
Incredible experience highlight of our weekend. The guide was very knowledgeable and made the experience fun and interesting for my teenage kids. He really targeted what we’re liking for!
The depth of knowledge of the guide was excellent. He was interactive and engaging and selected a range of art types and locations.
I was looking for an experience to discover Madrid in an alternative way and we found it. Javier took his time to explain the street art around Lavapies district, and showed us two food markets which we later visited on our own. Nice spots & recommendations. I wish the guided visit would have lasted longer. Recommended service.
I would recommend this tour and company to anyone looking to learn about Madrid’s art and culture scene. Geraldo, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable and nice and even walked us to a nearby taberna after the tour was over. I got to see lavapies through an artistic lens, which was super cool and not something I’ve ever noticed walking through the streets myself. You even get to spray paint your own souvenir. I would definitely go on another tour with this company.
I was impressed. Our guide was charismatic and knowledgeable. He shared what he knew, mentioning the artists by name and their trademarks. Many of us asked specific questions and he was able to go into depth when answering. The size of the group and pacing was great. It was interactive because we got to spray paint a stencil. The time flew and I would willingly go on a half-day tour to learn more.
