Jaime was the perfect guide for this incredible palace. He was funny and personable and knew so much about the history, the architecture, the art and furniture. My husband, who is not normally much on these types of things, really enjoyed how Jaime tied all these things together with the interesting backstories of personalities and politics. The palace is so vast that I don’t think a guidebook would be nearly as helpful and audio guides, while helpful, don’t allow for all the questions which Jaime was happy to answer. Great tour and tour guide, highly recommend.

Our docent gave us a wonderful tour. Alot of information. Takes his time in explaining about what we are seeing, the history behind the rooms and what even the chandelier's are made of. Was able to answer all our questions.

The best way to experience the royal palace is to join a private or semi private tour with a licensed tour guide. I enjoyed it tremendously.

Over the past five decades a visit to the Prado has been high on my bucket list. With the superb Angel as our guide, my patience was amply rewarded with a wonderful survey of European—mostly Spanish of course—from the early Renaissance through Goya. Angel is a gifted teacher, expertly weaving great art and fascinating historical context, Hapsburg, Bourbon, etc. The history of Spain. Examples : how to observe The Washing of the Feet by Tintoretto, Botticelli’s Escenas de La Histoire de Nastagio deli Onesti, The Spinners and Las Meninas of Velasquez. And all of the amazing Goya, beyond expectations. Visiting the Prado is a treat; with Angel, a transcendent experience!

Isabella is knowledgeable and enjoys sharing it with people. She paces her tour so that travelers come away with a great deal of fascinating information. Isabella is very open to questions and comments.

We got David as our tour guide, what a great experience. Give the man a raise!! But seriously he’s charismatic and great with information. He knew everything he was showing us and really made it easy and clear to understand while still getting a deep understanding of the sight. Recommend the tour and especially David for anybody else looking into the tour.

David was great. He explained things well and gave our family an enjoyable tour of the palace. The like for the group tour was substantially shorter than the general one. Would recommend.

Our private tour with David was worth every penny. We learned not only about the palace but also about the history of Madrid. David knew so much about the palace, the grounds and details we would not have been able to get otherwise. It was great to skip the line and 2.5 hours was just enough time. Our guide, Sean, provided a wealth of knowledge and shared his experience as a former history instructor. He not only provided a historical POV but also a taste of the current local flavors. The tour went off well, especially given the late changes by the government on accessing the Palace with a group.

The guide was very knowledgeable and engaging — we had an awesome time and learned a lot. The guide also engages our young children, as well. Highly recommend!

Sean was a perfect guide - he instantly connected to our kids and kept it fun and informative for all of us. I really enjoyed the armoury as well as the beautiful palace. Some of the most interesting revelations were around the Palacio's importance in contemporary politics and diplomacy. Easily the best tour we did in Madrid.

The tour was amazing! We did indeed skip the long line and walked in through the separate group entrance on the side. Our guide Isabella had a great personality and shared a lot of her knowledge with us. But most importantly she was very kind and attentive to our 6-year old and kept him entertained the entire 2.5 hours. Thank you!

We booked a semi private tour but it ended up being private. Sean was a fantastic guide. He spent time with us outside the Palace, inside the armory exhibit and in the Palace. He was so knowledgeable, friendly and entertaining. We learned so much about Spanish (and world) history on the tour. Highly recommended!

What a wonderful tour!!!! Isabella was incredible. She was very informative. She was very nice. We were a group of 7 ranging from 16 years old to 87. All of us enjoyed the tour!! 5 out of 5 stars for the tour and Isabella!!! It was well worth the price for the small group and the "skip the line" portion. We did not have to wait in any line to get into the palace.

We were lucky enough to have Beatriz hell,, who was a knowledgeable, history teacher. She made the palace, a fun interactive event, that is hard to forget. She was a delight to deal with, and we would highly recommend doing a tour with her.

We had originally booked a small group tour, but had to rebook because the Palace was closed on the original date with state business. We didn’t get much notice about that and initially didn’t get an explanation as to why, so be aware these can be cancelled without much notice. We were really glad to have the private tour though. Our guide Javier was awesome - super knowledgeable and able to tell us so much about the palace. It is really hard to describe how lavish and opulent all of the different rooms we were able to see. We got the longest tour I could book, which I recommend as well. While we only get access to a limited number of rooms in the humongous palace, there is so much to see in each room. The private guide was able to answer details about the different rooms an items we saw. The private guide was also necessary because the place was absolutely packed and we were able to skip some very long lines.

Loved learning about the complex history of Spain - monarchy, religion etc. Guide was very knowledgeable and had interesting anecdotes.

Luis David was a very knowledgeable and genial guide. He walks through the history of the palace in the way that was approachable and helpful. Despite the complex history involved, he gave us a really great overview that helped us appreciate the place. Highly recommended.
