Itinerary
Housed in an 18th century neoclassical building, the Prado Museum displays thousands of works from its vast collection, spanning the 1200s to the 1900s. Some of the stand-out pieces include “Las Meninas” (The Maids of Honor), an inventive self-portrait by Spanish-born Velázquez, and “The Garden of Earthly Delights,” a triptych from Dutch painter Hieronymus Bosch. You’ll wander its hall as your expert guided reveals the stories and secrets behind works by Goya, Fra Angelico, El Greco, Rembrandt, and others. Explore the largest collection of Italian masterpieces outside of Italy in addition to a fine selection of prints and sculptures. Whatever you do, don’t leave Madrid without experiencing all of the entrancing works that the Prado has to offer.

Get a private tour with Beatriz. She is fantastic. Art is her passion, she gives information and back stories, everything. We enjoyed very much.
10/10, no notes. Michele was friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Such an interesting and educated person. He helped us understand what we were seeing, the different movements of art relevant to the Spanish empire and different royal reigns, and why each work he highlighted was important. We booked a private tour - worth every penny.
I signed up for this small group guided tour. None of the other participants showed up so it was just me and the tour guide Michelle A. He was amazing and I learned a great deal more from him than if I had just wandered around the Prado on my own. He was very knowledgeable and took no short cuts even though I was the only one in the "group". He was truly interested in making sure I got the most out of my time at the Prado. This was 2 1/2 hours well spent.
The Prado is incredible. Our guide, Rosita, was more than wonderful. She was very knowledgeable and able to answer all our questions. Her insights into the art and artists were important and valuable to us. Rosita was friendly and very excited about the Museum. She was able to provide history and fun stories to each exhibit. We would highly recommend this small group tour.
Jamie was very knowledgeable and excellent at navigating the crowds so we could have great views of the art. He was articulate and clear in his descriptions. And enjoyable to be around.
The Prado can be overwhelming, but our guide, Beatriz, did a fantastic job ushering us to exactly the artists and paintings we were most interested in. She framed each painting and sculpture in both the history of art and the history of Spain. Truly an illuminating and memorable experience. Highly recommended!
Really good tour. This was my kids favorite part of our trip so far. The guide had almost too much info!
Angel was extremely knowledgeable and fun. The museum is full of masterpieces and we got to have an intimate visit with each.
Our guide Isabella was wonderful - she shared detailed insights, engaging the entire group. Very knowledgeable! She kept the tour on time, we learned about Spanish history, and perspective. Highly recommend!
Jake our tour guide met us at the well defined meeting point. He is extremely knowledgeable, and took his time to be sure that we enjoyed our visit. Semi private tour booked which became just us! Highly recommend.
My wife and I very much enjoyed our Prado Museum tour with our guide , Almu. She was very knowledgeable of all the beautiful art pieces she had chosen to show us . She pointed out some very interesting insights on each one and we learned a lot more about art from her discussion.
Great tour with Ana Munoz, excellent historical and art review. Ana is very knowledgeable with an extensive art background. She kept the entire group engaged.
Our tour guide, Andrea, was fabulous. She brought great knowledge and passion around the history of the museum and the various art collections. We received advance communications which allowed our meet up to be extremely smooth. Andrea kept our teenage daughters engaged, and we all had a great experience at the Prado! Andrea even gave us a list of her favorite restaurants in Madrid at the end of the tour!
David was an amazing tour guide who not only provided important context to the paintings as we saw them, but constructed a narrative as we walked through the museum. He picked out several of the most important artists and took us through the museum as he constructed the narrative, chronologically, from one artist to the next. Specifically the information he provided on Goya was incredible and changed my perspective on the man. Incredible tour.
Our family loved our tour of the Prado Museum with David. He was knowledgeable, engaging, and fun. He added a few paintings at our request and delivered an ad hoc talk on the spot. We peppered him with tough questions and he was completely up to the task. Would be happy to have him guide us around other cultural sites. Highly recommended.
We enjoyed our very informative tour. Enrique was very knowledgeable and passionate about the permanent collection of the Prado.
José was truly outstanding! His knowledge of the museum and highlighting the top pieces as well as walking us through the artists and subject matters that influenced these masterpieces was incredible! He knew the museum like the back of his hand and we were able to see everything we wanted and more!!! I highly recommend José as your guide. And he’s funny! He knows intimate details about the artists lives and relationships that really add so much to viewing their works!
Ana is an incredibly gifted guide. She possesses deep domain expertise and a passion for both the art and history of Spain
In the course of 2.5 hours with Ana M., we felt our brains expanding with all the knowledge of Spanish art that we were acquiring, along with the historical context in which that art was made. Great combination of accessibility and depth — truly worth every penny.
Angel was an excellent tour guide who made the time fly by. It was a such amazing and engaging experience. I walked away with a very good understanding of the key treasures of the Prado museum as well as the historical context of the art. It was a definite highlight of our Madrid trip.
Our experience through the Prado museum was incredible. Angel our guide explained in detail the fine artworks. His expertise gave us a better appreciation of the artists and magnificent artworks, as well as interesting historical facts. We went to the museum with little art knowledge and came out learning so much. We can say we have been inspired! Would highly recommend this tour. Definitely request Angel, he is knowledgeable and has a passion for the arts. Angel, thank you for the journey. Edna and John Acquavella
We had am incredible time with our guide Sean! He was extremely knowledgeable and very generous with his time giving us fantastic recommendations for our travels in Spain. We highly recommend Sean and Babylon tours! Robert and Cheryl Balczo
Our tour guide David did an amazing job of teaching us the history of Spain thru the art at the Prado. He focused on the key works of art in the museum and educated on the art techniques as well as the history behind the pieces themselves.
Our guide was amazing. She was extremely knowledgeable and was extremely thorough in explaining the art. It was great to have an art major as the guide
We have visited many museams but this was the best experience we have had. Jamie was incredibly knowledgable and engaging which made for an excelent experience. Unlike most museam tours we were able to have front row views of all the great art housed at the Prado Museum. Thanks Jamie!!
Our guide Ana was wonderful. She taught as much about art in our 3 hour tour. We got more out of it than if we had just gone ourselves and used an audio tour. Highly recommend if you are interested in art.
We hit every high note at the Prado and received a passionate, rich, detailed history of all major featured artists and works. Ana Llorente, our guide, holds a PhD in art history and was born and raised here in Madrid. Her expertise not only taught us about the most famous paintings, but we also learned the details of the different periods and painting styles. Ana was able to share with us what the artists were thinking and feeling during their time. This tour is a way to fall in love with some of the most famous works in history by Bosch, Velasquez, Goya, El Greco and more... Logistics/ease of the tour: I received emails with detailed instructions on where to meet and when. The night before our tour, Babylon contacted me with the name and number of our guide. The day of the tour, Ana communicated directly with me and made sure we were ready and able to find her. Tickets in hand, we passed right through - so easy!!! In case it is not evident, this is the way to tour the Prado - enjoy!
The 2 and a half hours passed very quickly in front of a wonderful guide, who showed a lot of knowledge besides being very kind and kind Definitely recommend as one of the best experiences in Madrid
Isabel has been an excellent guide, with a lot of knowledge, made it super dynamic and entertaining for everyone! Very attentive to our doubts, I recommend them without hesitation!
