Antonio was extremely knowledgeable, personable, and made the tour enjoyable for us and out teenage girls. The hike was fun and scenic.

Itinerary
This incredible experience starts in the most comfortable way, aboard the fastest train in Spain (reaches a top speed of 300 km/h), highlighting its punctuality, avoiding up to 2 hours of delays and traffic jams of big cities and getting to Toledo in just 30 minutes. Get impressed by the countryside you often wouldn't see if you were driving the highway or flying thousands of miles in the air. In ecological terms, train travel remains overall the most environmentally friendly mode of traveling.
After a scenic ride, start the adventure discovering the famous Aqueduct of Segovia, a Roman engineering marvel dating back to the 1st century AD. Behold the well-preserved aqueduct stretches through the heart of the city and is an incredible sight.
After, you’ll visit the Alcázar, perched on a hill overlooking the city, its majestic castle that was once home to the kings of Castile. This fortress has a unique appearance with its turreted towers and is said to have inspired Walt Disney's Cinderella Castle. Explore the interior, including the various rooms, halls, and courtyards. Don't miss the Tower of Juan II, which offers panoramic views of Segovia.
Continue through the charming streets of Segovia's Old Town. Admire the medieval buildings, quaint squares, and picturesque alleys. Walk through the Jewish Quarter and the Gothic Cathedral. Don't miss the Plaza Mayor, the main square, where you can relax at a café and soak in the atmosphere.
Enjoy free time to explore the city on your own, relax or even taste one of the most traditional dishes of Spanish gastronomy ¨Cochinillo¨ (suckling pig).

This tour by far was my favorite while visiting Spain. Tour guide was very knowledgeable and spoke great English. Only suggestions for future visitors, where comfy shoes, bring water, and know you will be walking up a large amount of stairs in one part of the tour.
Antonio is an awesome guide and this is a must do if you visit the Madrid area. It was informative and a great cardio workout
We enjoyed our trip to Segovia with Christina. She was a terrific guide and provided information while adding a touch of humor. Even though it rained we had an excellellent is it.
Wonderful day trip with Cristina. The castle, cathedral and city wall are beautiful. Cristina is Down to earth, humorous and easy going. Thank you, Jeff H. (NYC)
The tour was amazing! Cristina was super knowledgeable and added her own flair to keep us all engaged. Everyone on our tour was thoroughly pleased.
Cristina our guide was very personable ….and knowledgeable of Segovia. Her recommendations for food and the restaurant were excellent.
Cristina was amazing! Very informed and great sense of humor. I enjoyed very much. I would highly recommend to friends and family.
Christina was an amazing guide. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Would highly recommend. My husband and I were so impressed and happy with our experience.
Great way to spend the day and explore Segovia. Maria our guide was fully knowledgable of history and sites. Willing to answer all our questions. We were free to explore lunch on our own at end. Plus we got a lesson in using the trains.
The tour with Christine was excellent. She provided some great commentary on the aqueduct, the castle and the general area of Segovia. The walk along the river was a nice change from just visiting the historical sites.
The tour to Segovia was really nice. The high speed train was a great way to get there and expedite the travel time. The situation with the transfer from the train station to the old city was a mess. There are few taxis and although an arrangement had been made for a larger vehicle to pick us up (there were 6 of us with the guide) they were apparently unavailable once we were actually at the station. This resulted in multiple phone calls by the guide, arguments either other travelers also looking for a taxi, and ultimately a 20 minute delay getting to the city of Segovia. The return trip was not much better and of course there was the stress of not making the train before departure. The tour itself was great and the city is beautiful. The additional hike was quite enjoyable but the logistics really need to be ironed out.
Lovely day trip to Segovia. Cristina was a delightful guide. Met us at the train station in Madrid, travelled to Segovia. Had a relaxed hike along the river followed by the visit of the Alcazar. Incredibly well preserved Roman aqua duct, simply fascinating! A great outing from Madrid!
Christina was our tour guide and she was wonderful. She made the trip lots of fun and was very informative. The area was beautiful. I highly recommend this tour. Make sure you wear comfortable shoes and be prepared to walk a lot. There is a lot of up and down hills and steps but it’s worth the effort.
Christina was marvelous. It had begun to rain and she helped us get umbrellas and we were able to continue our tour in Segovia S Pop The hike was really nice and so beautiful. She made a great suggestion for lunch. Would highly recommend this tour if you are pretty fit & into a lot of walking. The train& taxis went w/o any problems. It’s all day but well worth it
Antonio was great! The tour was well paced and a really nice mixture of local spots and the must see sites of Segovia. I would highly recommend it to those wanting a day trip outside of Madrid.
Segovia was well worth the visit Cristina was an excellent guide and storyteller. She was responsive to our wishes plus did a good job of filling in the blanks on some things we were seeing
This was an amazing half-day trip from Madrid. Our guide, Antonio, was extremely knowledgeable and helpful during our trip. Since we were going for only part of the day, we decided on the high-speed train option rather than the auto. This was a great decision. We had used the AVE before, but taking the train is a cool thing to learn about. The trip begins with a visit to the famous Roman Aqueducts. Seeing them is truly amazing, and pictures don't do them justice. Antonio was great at explaining everything about them. This tour included a "hike" by the river. I put hike in quotations because it is more of a walk. If you're worried about a strenuous hike, it's not that. We enjoyed the guided tour of a nature path. The walk goes around the town, past the Royal Coin Mint, and ends at the Segovia Alcázar. The tour includes admission. Antonio had a headphone system that allowed him to guide and explain the castle as we toured. We are very happy to have toured this castle. It was a highlight of our vacation. The tour ends with an hour and a half to eat lunch and explore Segovia. It was crowded the day we arrived. If you don't want to eat in the Plaza, you can take the calle down to the Aquaduct and find many more eating places along the way. If you're considering this tour, you should go for it. Antonio was an expert tour guide, and our entire family loved it.
Highly recommended day trip! I’m glad I chose to visit Segovia on its own and not in combination with another city, since the visit was more leisurely this way. The hike along the river was also a nice break from only visiting cities. Antonio was an excellent guide who clearly enjoys his work. He was attentive to everyone’s needs and made us feel very welcome.
The tour was wonderful. Small group and train were definitely a plus. The tour had a perfect balance of a beautiful hike, visit to the castle, and free time near the aqueduct. Segovia is beautiful and this tour was a perfect day trip from Madrid.
Antonio is the man! Our family of 5 had the pleasure of having him as our guide through Segovia…his knowledge and friendliness was top level. He even spent his lunch hanging with our family at the local restaurant. Very highly recommended trip and guide! Thanks again Antonio!
I was looking for a day trip to escape the large crowds of Madrid and get a cultural experience at another city in Spain. I selected Segovia over Toledo because it would be a few degrees cooler and also by recommendation from my daughter who has been to both cities. Antonio was our guide. He was very professional and knowledgeable about the city and its deep history. Highlights were the Roman aqueduct, Alcazar, and a walk through the city where we had time to eat at a local restaurant specializing in preparing suckling pig. The half day excursion was a full day including the train ride and bus trip to and from the destination. Very enjoyable trip. Highly recommend World Experience Madrid tour group and its professionally trained guides.
Antonio was an INCREDIBLE guide! He was passionate about the history, and constantly asked the group how he could taylor the information to the groups interest- whether we wanted more info or less. He went above and beyond! Personally, we would have loved to spend more time at the castle and in the town Segovia rather than the hike, but all in all we loved the tour.
Segovia is a picturesque town and this walking/hiking tour was filled with beautiful views of the stunning architecture and natural beauty of the town. The hike was not difficult for an average adult or child wearing proper shoes and takes you along the river and through a gorgeous park, ending at the castle. Our guide Antonio was very knowledgable and friendly and made us feel quite welcome. I highly recommend.
This was such a wonderful day trip! We got a great taste of Segovia, from the castle and cathedral, to the winding local river paths. Our tour guide, Antonio, was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and excited about the rich history of this town. We learned so much and it was a perfectly efficient excursion from Madrid!
Antonio was an amazing guide. Very knowledgeable on the history behind the castle, cathedral, and city as a whole. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to explore and gain valuable insight at the same time. We’ll be booking with him again on our next visit!
This trip was outstanding. It was well worth the time to see the all the impressive structures and learn about the history of Segovia. Antonio was a terrific guide. He took us off the beaten path and had a great knowledge of the history of the region.
Cristina was wonderful, communicated extremely well, took care of our needs and did a great job arranging for the transportation and a beautiful day! She did a fabulous job in telling us about Segovia, showing us the castle and town as well as answering our questions and acting as our family photographer. There was even time to explore the town on your own. Thank you for a fabulous day!
Laura was an amazing tour guide - she was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I would decinitely recommend!! We enjoyed everything!
Laura is an amazing tour guide and person with whom to talk! Five star experience all the way around. Segovia boasts beauty and history at every turn. We learned a lot about the history of Spain. Highly recommend!
5 of 5. Outstanding tour . guide. Laura gave great insight on the area, history, and the culture. Highly recommend this tour.
Laura was extremely knowledgeable and personable. I absolutely enjoyed the tour and learned a lot of history. She also went at a great pace and was very friendly and eager to answer our questions. Thank you Laura for giving us an excellent vacation experience.
First of all lets get the negative out the way, I contacted the company to check on departure times twice, once before booking and once closer to the date to ensure it didnt mess up our plans for the rest of the day, a concert back in Madrid. To then get a message a couple of days before the trip to say the time had moved back approximately 2 hours, the concert we could still get to, but the reservations we made in Segovia for food were now pointless. Our tour guide Christine met us outside the hotel meeting point along with the rest of the party and we made our way to the train, the journey was most enjoyable and Id certainly use it again to explore Spain in comfort. A short taxi ride from the station which seemed to be in the middle of nowhere and we were greeted by the spectacular viaduct of Segovia and the tour was underway, the Alcazar was shut but we were told beforehand that was the case but still made for some great photos. The nature walk was nice, a lot of greenery not a lot of wildlife itself but a nice change of pace and some shade in the heat. A visit to the cathedral and some free time in the city rounded off our trip as we made the return by train to Madrid. A great tour let down by some poor communication and administration, would recommend just make sure you have some breathing room around the times shown.
Our guide Antonio was personable and informative. Segovia was good. Alcaxar was the best part. I wish the train originated from Atocha vs Chamartin.
The trip was very scenic. Great photo opportunity and I was on my honeymoon, so definitely appreciate the pictures. The town has quite a few great places to eat as well. Antonio was perfect. Incredibly nice and would for sure recommend.
Antonio was an amazing guide! Very kind and insightful! Showed us around the river all the way up to the castle. And gave us recommendations for lunch as well
We travelled to Segovia with a small group led by Christina, who was great. Forget a bus trip, we did this by high speed train - Madrid to Segovia in around 27 minutes - way to go! Segovia is surrounded by snow-capped mountains and gas views to die for. And the city itself is unique - the Roman viaduct is breathtaking as is the beautiful Alcazar - where Isabella and Ferdinand lived in their younger lives. She was crowned Queen of Castille and Leon in the square right outside the Cathedral. All in all, a great trip - again with thanks to Christina.
Christina was a great tour guide to Segovia. She was prompt and expertly ushered us through the station to the train. She arranged all taxis adeptly. Upon arrival to Segovia she was very knowledgeable of the area and provided a great history of Segovia, the aqueducts, and the castle. The views were beautiful. Would recommend this tour to anyone looking to get out of Madrid for the day to experience another part of Spain.
Fantastic day trip to Segovia for family with 3 kids! Great pace and level of information. Cristina did an excellent job keeping everyone engaged and moving the tour in a very good way. Highly recommended!
Had a great time, Laura was very patient and kind with a group that ranged from teenagers to grandparents. I enjoyed the long walk, even if I got a little nervous from heights at the top of the stairs. Definitely bring hiking shoes or sneakers with good treads! We came after some heavy rains. The scenery was beautiful! A couple of water fountains along the way with naturally cold water were refreshing. It was some good exercise in a smaller city with plenty of charm.
Walked all through Segovia enjoying a nature trail, the aqueduct, the castle and cathedral. This tour will include unpaved trails and stairs with an incline so be sure to wear appropriate footwear. Enjoy a lovely lunch at the square before heading home. Laura was a terrific guide and very patient with those who too a little longer getting up the stairs (me).
Very nice trip. The castle was beautiful. Our tour guide was also very kind and gave us interesting info. Highly Recommend.
Christina was very knowledgeable. Seeing the aqueduct and the castle were amazing! Even my teen had fun! We had recommendations for our free time as well.
Let me preface this with I understand policy BUT.... After our original tour was canceled due to a last minute tour guide sickness, and being offered a choice of two alternatives, my wife and I accepted a similar tour. NICE of the operator to do so. However, 12 hours our so, my wife cave down with a stomach virus, preventing us from attending. I had notified the operator of this, and sought a refund, however, no accommodation / refund was given. NOT NICE.
We experienced a great day from the time we met to catch the train until our return late afternoon. We were shown the key attractions of Segovia especially the Aqueduct which is truly amazing. We even had time for lunch and free time to explore.
Trip was canceled due to insufficient people needed for the trip. The company contacted me and put me on the Toledo trip. That was amazing
Great day trip for a quick outing to venture out of the city! Christina was so kind and informative, and it was a beautiful city! You get a lot of bang for your buck with the aqueduct, the castle and the cathedral, and you can enjoy a delicious lunch in the plaza. Highly recommend!
Cristina was a wonderful guide! Her enthusiasm for the history and beauty of Segovia shined through our tour. It was a nice balance of guided tour and free time to explore the city.
What an amazing experience!! Christina was the best guide!! Would highly recommend this trip to anyone in the Madrid area that is looking for a truly unique and memorable experience!! The Alcaraz, Aqueduct and Suckling pig were truly amazing!!
Christina is an excellent guide. She is friendly and knowledgeable and makes sure everyone is included. We enjoyed hearing about the history of the castle and aqueduct in Segovia.
