Segovia Aqueduct, a world UNESCO world heritage site. t is one of the best-preserved elevated Roman aqueducts and the foremost symbol of Segovia, as evidenced by its presence on the city's coat of arms.
Segovia Cathedral is the Gothic-style Roman Catholic cathedral located in the main square (Plaza Mayor) of the city of Segovia, in the community of Castile-Leon, Spain. The church, dedicated to the Virgin Mary, was built in a Gothic style in the mid-16th century.
The Alcázar of Segovia is a medieval alcázar located in the city of Segovia, a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Rising out on a rocky crag above the confluence of two rivers near the Guadarrama mountains, it is one of the most distinctive castle-palaces in Spain by virtue of its shape – like the bow of a ship. The Alcázar was originally built as a fortress but has served as a royal palace, a state prison, a Royal Artillery College and a military academy since then. It is currently used as a museum and a military archives building.

Excellent organization. All praises to Maria - Aranchez from Segovia who was our guide and who conjured up Segovia through the ages. She had a precise and often witty answer to every question, but with historical data related to all eras. A wonderful day in a wonderful place with a drinkable story about this beautiful place.
Miranda was incredible- funny, informative, entertaining, and all in all an amazing tour guide. Angey is also great and both did a fantastic job expressing the importance of segovia and portraying this city in a magnificent light.
Segovia full day tour from Madrid is an excellent way to see Segovia. Full day tour allows ample time for short guided tour then lots of free time to explore the cathedral, the Alcazar, shops, and dining.
Was very nice experience, we had a good guide her name is Angie , very explicit, she also was very cooperative to show us every detail tour
The guide name is Miranda. She was so much knowledgeable. It was excellent tour with English and Spanish both. Detailed explained all history.
Had an amazing time with Miranda. She was very friendly and knowledgeable. I would recommend this tour to anyone. Great value and good pace.
What a wonderful day we had touring Segovia with our very knowledgeable tour guide Ramirez! Charming personality! Highly recommend Big Bus Tours. Everything was just as expected.
I got Segovia maps from the guide Alejandro at the beginning of the trip and a Mobile charger at the end of the trip😃, it was a solution. Even the tour company and Segovia was a fairy tale experience. A memorable first solo trip.
The tour was fine. My husband and I are bilingual so we chose to go with the smaller group- English speaking. While we noticed on the bus ride the English information given was 1/3 of what the Spanish information shared, we hoped it would be different once the groups were split up. Unfortunately, when the groups reconnected at the Alcazar, we realized that there was much more background and historic detail being shared in the Spanish group. So much so that we switched channels on our audio boxes as long as the groups were close. The city did not disappoint...segovia is stunning so we had a great day. We just were saddened by how different the treatment was and most people had no idea what they missed.
We had quite the pleasant experience with our guide Luis that showed us the city and it's monuments, the lore of the city is quite the story.
The views of Segovia were amazing. Alcazar is definitely a sight to see if you’re here! Get a guided tour if you can. I felt that you could see most of the sites in one day.
Our guide Sara was great she explained everything that we needed to know and the tour ran smoothly. Based on this experience, I will probably take the tour to Toledo tomorrow.
The tour guide, Jose Luis, was very good but not sure we got as much explanation in English as was given in Spanish. The Alcazar was excellent. The bus to Segovia was a bit cramped and not that warm, but this was a minor discomfort.
Alejandro Guia was a truly excellent tour guide. Not only was he very kind and patient, we were very impressed with his seamless ability to switch between Spanish and English to tell both groups the full history of Segovia. We loved this trip in particular because there was time to explore the city on our own after the tour.
The guide Helena was very nice and made a great walking tour through Segovia. My complain about the tour itself is its organization as I went to Segovia in a tour Segovia/Toledo (I bought the day tour only to Segovia - the lines in the meeting point were confusing and another guide gave me wrong information) and I had some trouble finding the guide (which was obviously different from the first guide)in the end of the day. They called me and we solved the problem, but it was stressful anyway. I recommend the tour, paying attention to these details
Despite the rain our tour guide Dori pressed on and made it enjoyable and Alejandra was a good and helpful tour leader. We were happy to have chosen this tour with these people.
The guide's comments were few, it was not worth the money and it is much cheaper to pay for the bus tickets and go with a brief reading on Wikipedia.
Luis, did an excellent job in explaining the itinerary along with the important cultural aspects in both English and in Spanish. I never felt lost during the trip.
It was an amazing experience! The city has great food and lots of history! Our tour guide was great! The panoramic view of the city was amazing! There’s a zip line you can go on from the medieval bridge.
Knowledgeable tour guides, great food and wonderful locals to talk to. Lovely views, shops, and restaurants. Worth visiting.
Sara is a very good guide! It was interesting to discover this city and some fun facts about it. The aqueduct is a wonder from Roman times.
Sara was a great, passionate walking tour guide, thank you! Transfers were on time and we felt well looked after. Start was a bit delayed due to waiting for some participants.
Segovia itself was amazing. This specific tour was only about 1 hour and a half and we had the rest of the day to ourselves (another 6 hours). This was the half day tour but it in fact was a whole day because the bus didn't come for us until 5pm. Although our tour guide was very nice and very informative, he was a bit hard to understand and we didn't have headphones like other tours so you really had to stay close to him while he was speaking. It was a very long 8 hr day and only an hour and a half was the tour. Just FYI. We obviously decided to make plans throughout the city but there were other tours that were better and worthwhile. Beautiful place though!
It was a great tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable. Our bus drivers were very good as well. Lots of confusion when we first arrived but we got it sorted. Thank you.
The guide, Alfredo, was very competent and helpful. His knowledge of the subject was impressive. We really enjoyed the tour. Took a lot of beautiful and awesome photos to show our friends and family.
The start of the tour was a bit stressful cuz the bus was late due to weather but it was all worth it. The sites were amazing. It was my first time visiting Segovia and Avila. The tour guide was awesome! Alfredo was able to explain everything clearly and in an interesting manner. A tour to definitely to go back.
Bus was late at the start of the tour but company let us wait comfortably inside their office. Tour was great-- guide was great at storytelling and was very fluent with Spanish and English; he was also very friendly with everyone.
Tour was perfect. Left on time and ran very smoothly. Tour leader was very good switching between English and Spanish so well and was very informative. Lovely day!
Alex and Maria, the best ones in their job! Good energy, perfect short and comprehensive stories!!!!
Really enjoyed our trip to Segovia. Our coach was spotless and our driver Pedro was excellent. Alex kept us entertained with his commentary on our journey and split us into two groups when we arrived for our walking tour, Spanish and English speaking. I joined the English speaking group and our guide was a local lady called Aranta (Sorry if I have this wrong). She made the tour so interesting and was obviously very proud of her hometown. We had approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes in Segovia which was fine if your time is limited. Personally, I would have liked a little longer there in order to visit either the castle or the Cathedral. A great trip and good value if you have limited time in Madrid but want to get a taster of what else there is to see in this historic part of Spain.
Picked up at 9am after a little struggle understanding bus stop meeting point. Nice bus to Segovia and the aqueduct, church, castle, town all amazing. Only complaint was rainy and cold and the bi-lingual guide (who struggled with English) repeated everything in both languages while we stood in the cold drizzle trying to stay warm. Be aware, departure time was 7pm...it’s an all day thing. Guide was nice to help get me water bottle back that was left on the bus.
I had hoped having a guide would help navigate the beautiful city of Segovia and learn more than I would from simply taking a guidebook. I was wrong. First, the guide - Alec- was very nice and I’m sure is quite knowledgeable. Unfortunately, his explanations were very brief and cursory- probably due to the fact that he was speaking in Spanish and English and so it took twice as long to say half as much. He also said the cathedral was “not open” for visiting so skipped it. Turned out it’s open to the public- as we discovered on our own later in the day. So glad we didn’t listen to him. The trip back was on an unheated bus- after standing in cold rain waiting for it. Save your money- take your own bus or high speed train from Madrid (it’s only 30 minutes) and a good guide book and you’ll be much happier.
I took the Segovia only tour and I really enjoyed It. Segovia has so much history it was invaluable to have a guide. Plus we had ample opportunity to explore on our own during the afternoon. Definitely worth it!
The tour gives you the chance to enjoy Segovia at your own pace. They depart from Plaza de España you meet several guides from the company show your ticket and they show you a line to wait for your bus. They drive you to Segovia in a confortable coach and give you 15 minutes for a coffe or bathroom break upon arrival before you start your guided walking tour around the old town of Segovia. The tour was fun and complete. Our guide for the day was Alfredo he was very fun and tried to keep the group together. The tour started at Acueducto de Segovia and ended at the Alcazar around 12:30 noon. Then you are given the rest of the day to explore on your own. We met another group and were acompanied by Alberto who was very fun.
Our guide was Jennifer and our driver was Juanito! The tour was good and informative. We even got the option to go to Avila on this tour. Both cities are very beautiful and we felt that we had enough time in each city. Jennifer is a very sweet and caring individual. During our free time in Avila she waited around so that we could all leave together.
Good option to see Segovia. Tour was in time and everything was just as described. Tour guide was fun and informative. Directions as to where and when to mee up were clear. Would definitely recommend it.
We did this day trip at the end of June 2019 and enjoyed it Segovia is a beautiful place to visit and I would recommend this company the guides were very helpful and provided good information
The tour guide is Angie, and she is super friendly. She explained the whole iteninary at the beginning of the tour and encouraged us to add another town to the tour. We did and enjoyed both little towns.
Our experience was really mixed: it started bad with the tour guides trying to force us to choose another option (Segovia + Toledo or Segovia + Avila) instead of the one we chose on purpose for just Segovia because they didn't have a bus or a guide for us (!!!). What's worse was that one of the guides convinced one group of young American girls to take the Toledo+Segovia tour - I don't think they knew the distance between those cities before agreeing to what the guide said was a good deal (TWO instead of ONE city). PSA: unless you really like spending most of your time in the tour bus, don't choose Toledo + Segovia option... Just check the map first to see where those two cities are located! Eventually with several of us adamant that we wanted a whole day to really spend some time in Segovia instead of being hurried around, the guides relented and figured out a ride for us. This took approximately 40 minutes in the cold morning and we left 30 minutes later than scheduled. The walking tour itself was decent; it did feel like the English version of the explanations were a bit shorter than the Spanish one but hey, it's the guide's native language and no grudge from me on that. The guide did a good job as far as I am concerned with the walking tour portion. Overall, 3 stars for the bad + the good. I honestly don't know if I would recommend this to others - if the bad planning in the morning was avoided, yes, but as it was, buyers beware.
This is exactly the day trip I was looking for: with a tour guide for a while and most of the I was having all the freedom I needed to look around and take photos.
This was a great experience. The guide was great. He spoke Spanish and then English and provided great historical information. I definately recommend.
Super experience Many thanks to Alejandro, our English guide 😉
very good guides excellent transportation and schedules 100%
A lot of history well told by Raquel together with the excellent coordination of the tour with Alejandro and the good driving of the friendly Alexia
With the driver Ivo, and the guide Alejandro
Every Heritage city deserves its time. Alejandro the guide was magnificent, and we all really enjoyed a city with an Aqueduct, Walls, Cathedral, and Museums (there is evidence of human life in Segovia from 43,000 years ago, as the guide showed us in the National Geographic article!).
Tamara was excellent and Segovia is a dream.
The driver Guillermo was very professional. Alejandro was very attentive, taking care of the whole group during the journey. Alvaro (rito) was very pleasant.
Great experience with Alejandro and Miranda, the explanations that gave very interesting, the very comfortable transport and the super friendly people.
