Itinerary
Starting from Madrid, we will head to Segovia, a small city that will surprise us from the moment we get off the bus. Those who have chosen the option “on your own” will be able to enjoy the city at their own pace. The guide will inform you of the meeting point and the exact time of return to Madrid, so that you can organize your time with total convenience. This option includes the entrance to the Cathedral, allowing you to visit it on your own during your stay in Segovia. For those who have chosen “with Cathedral and Alcázar” and “with Alcázar”, the guided walking tour will begin at the imposing Aqueduct of Segovia, one of the best-preserved Roman engineering works in the world, dating back more than 2,000 years. You will discover how it was built without cement and the route that the water took to reach the heart of the city.
From there, we will walk up to the Plaza Mayor, enjoying the charm of historic streets and iconic monuments such as the Casa de los Picos, with its 617 granite peaks, and the Plaza Medina del Campo, where you will find the Church of San Martín, built in 1117, and the Lozoya Tower, which you can visit at your own pace and from which you will have breathtaking views of Segovia.
Once we arrive to the Plaza Mayor we will find different monuments that will impress us, such as the Town Hall, the Juan Bravo Theatre and the Cathedral of Segovia, where those who have purchased the “with Cathedral and Alcázar” option will have a complete guided tour of its interior. At the end of the visit to the Cathedral you will have some free time to enjoy Segovia at your leisure.
At the appointed time, we will meet again at the Plaza Mayor. It will be time to head towards the Alcázar of Segovia, one of the most famous and well preserved medieval castles in the world. The Alcázar probably reminds you of some Disney castles, as its exterior architecture served as inspiration for some of Walt Disney's films, such as Cinderella's Castle or the Queen's Castle in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Great tour guide (Irene). Knowledgeable, funny, and a great job doing it in English and Espanol! An comfortable bus ride (thanks Antonio!). Segovia is a beautiful city!
Great tour. A bit rushed but we saw a lot.
Great last minute booking. Great 1/2 day tour. Tour moved at brisk pace, which is liked.
great guide! Mateo was fantastic and very helpful! he also ensured everyone’s safety
We did the 1/2 day tour which I think is perfect if you have a busy schedule or want to sleep in one morning. Mariana is a great guide and explained everything in English and Spanish. She made sure to answer questions and make jokes throughout the tour. Perhaps if the whole tour could be extended 30 minutes to wander the city that could be nice but either way it was a nice day trip from Madrid!
Mariana was great. Kept the group together and was full of information.
Mariana was an excellent tour guide
Mariana was great. We really enjoyed the tour.
Picturesque, narrow streets full of character, historically interesting. Made delightful by very knowledgeable guide. Trip highly recommended 👌
Our guide made the trip fascinating and informative. It was a dual language. experience in which the entire narrative was in both Spanish and English. Although I consider myself a non-Spanish speaker I was able to understand almost everything she said in Spanish and her English was impeccable. It was a pleasure. to be led by such a knowledgeable person. The tour itself was comprehensive and the timing beginning in the late afternoon was ideal. The bus was extremely comfortable.
A lovely trip. Segovia is a beautuful town. Would have liked more time to look around the town but the castle and cathedral were well worth visiting.
It was easy to book. The meeting point was convenient. Well organized check in. Comfortable bus. The audio devices were not a good quality. I could barely hear what the guid was saying. She switched languages for every sentence. This made her speech very confusing and less informative. You had to listen to her speaking Spanish because you didn’t know when she will switch to English. It was very difficult to navigate through the busy streets of the town, constantly listen to the guid and try to see the things around all at the same time. On the other hand two hours were wasted on the bus without any information from the guid.
Gigi was awesome. She’s very knowledgeable and funny and kept everyone entertained. The tour itself covers a LOT with a very brisk pace. I wish it was not so rushed so we could actually have a little time to spend enjoying the sites. The pickup on the way back was a little farther than we expected but we talked to Gigi and others in the group as we walked and it made the experience even more memorable.
Our guide, Gigi was fantastic. She was very fun, knowledgeable, and organized. She was one of the best tour guides we’ve seen. Unfortunately, the tour was poorly planned by the company. It was incredibly rushed while in Segovia. We had just a few minutes to see the aqueduct and take photos before rushing off to the cathedral before it closed. We saw very interesting things, but because it was so rushed I cannot recommend this tour.
The tour from Madrid to Segovia was amazing! Our tour guide Gigi was fantastic, very knowledgeable and a very funny guide who made everyone feel welcome on this experience!! The sites we saw were great but we will definitely remember Gigi from this tour 20/10 experience from her!!!
Gigi was very entertaining and kept the tour fun. She also had a lot of knowledge about all the tour locations and monuments. It was great.
Our guide, Gigi, was amazing!
Gigi was a great guide! The tour is a bit quick, but just right to catch the sights.
Gigi was an exceptional tour guide. Enjoyed the experience
Our guide, Marianna, did a very good job. She was able to explain the history of the area and highlight points we wouldn’t have discovered on our own. She was professional, informative and friendly. The downside to a tour in two languages is that it takes twice as long to cover the same topics. So, the tour may be a bit longer than needed.
Mariana gave us a really nice tour. History, architecture, and tips, everything we needed to enjoy. Thanks.
Loved Segovia and the sights. I would have preferred an English only group!
Our guide, Gigi, did a great job! She was very friendly and informative. At the beginning of the tour, she made sure that everyone’s audio guide was working well. Her English and Portuguese are very good. This tour is done at a very quick pace so you should be aware of that. This is probably the most enjoyable tour I have had after more than 1 week of travel in Spain. Thanks Gigi!!
The sights were absolutely stunning! In hindsight I wish I booked a longer tour. Our tour was rushed and we had very little free time and had to power walk everywhere. The guide GiGi was great! Her English was perfect. She was very knowledgeable about the history. She had alot of energy and gave us a few laughs. My child loved the sights, very good tour for children who are up for a bit of a walk.
GIGI was our tour guide, she did a great job!! Just a quick 4 hour tour! Very descriptive of the history, in multiple languages, she was also entertaining. Definitely recommend
An amazing speed tour. A little more time would have been nice. Gigi was the best. Entertaining and knowledgeable. She did not lose any passengers.
Great trip, well organised. Our guide Gigi kept everyone in check and was very informative.
Worth of money. We wanted to commute ourselves but getting there was complicated than I expected so we booked the last minute. Glad we did.
Wonderful half-day tour to Segovia with the best tour guide Gigi!
The aqueducts are soooo impressive! Segovia & its castle are gorgeous. Gigi, our guide, handled a giant group, in 3 languages! She was fun & informative. Highly recommend this tour - you get to see a lot while only being a half day tour. Perfect for spending the other half of the day sightseeing in Madrid.
The tour is really good, I would say it needs to be a little longer so there is time to see all the amazing historical structures but also time to visit all the local restaurants/shops. Jorge Serrano did an amazing job!
Great experience. Our guide, Jorge Serrano, was excellent. Clear explanations and interesting historical information which made the tour exceptional.
Segovia is an interesting place to visit, but our tour was lacking in a few ways. This was an English +1 tour but most of it was in Spanish. The English part was lacking in content. Also, the area was crowded and the guide's voice was often drowned out by the background noise. Lastly, after an hour and a half ride to Segovia, the guide did not offer a toilet break until the end of the tour.
Mateo was an excellent guide Waited for everybody at stops, bathroom breaks, concerned about everybody Good explanation in two languages seamlessly
Mariana is very good guide and tour to Segovia is really beautiful
One of the things on my bucket list was to visit Segovia. Our group were very disappointed with our guide from Julie's travel. One guide who switched between Spanish and English language. Roberto was limited on historical facts and we had no information on the aqueduct and no time for photos. Roberto left the English speaking group outside the palace for 45 minutes whilst he took the Spanish group through. No instruction was given except wait here I'll be back. It was a 34 degree day and we did not know for how long we would be waiting. We then had a quick tour in 20 minutes as he ran out of time. My recommendation to fellow travellers is to ensure you have 2 guides for 2 languages. I've have travelled internationally for 15 years and had great tour guides. Roberto did not seem to have his heart in this tour. Extremely disappointed
We have traveled Europe for years and taken dozens and dozens of tours and this was by far the worst. First, we booked an English tour and were put in a group with both Spanish and English speaking guests, which meant all information had to be delivered twice. Our guide, Roberto, almost seemed unhappy to be giving the tour. He had absolutely no sense of humor. When we left the meeting point to go to the bus, and for the rest of the tour, he would walk without a care for those on the tour, he didn’t turn around once to make sure everyone was keeping up. We spent a minimal amount of time in the Cathedral. The place was beautiful but we were only shown through about half of it before we had to leave for the Alcazar. When we got to the Alcazar we had to break into two groups because there were too many of us to enter at one time. The Spanish speakers went in first while the English speakers stood outside and waited, for 40 minutes. When the English speakers finally got to enter Roberto seemed to be in a hurry and rushed us through in under 30 minutes. Between a bathroom break and waiting outside the Alcazar a third of our time in Segovia was spent just standing around. Maybe, had there been a second guide we could have spent more time in both the Cathedral and Alcazar. Save your money and avoid this tour.
It was a breathtaking experience. I was endulging my self w full of history knowledge. This is just a piece of history of spain and im craving for more.i cant wait to come back here in spain and learn everything about it. Viva espana!!!!!!
Trip should be 1-2 hours longer. Guide was excellent and handled an overbooked group size well. Julia Tours should have closed the group at fewer people.
The trip is exactly what you need. Mariana was wonderful and added the type of knowledge and expertise that makes these tours so wonderful. Segovia was a wonderful experience but she made it memorable and worth the trip. Also, the person that was left in Segovia had every opportunity to not be left behind. Thank you, Mariana.
Informational and adventurous. Good amount of walking but manageable, with frequent stops if you need a break. Mateo was an excellent guide and helpful with responding to questions
Bi-lingual guide made it difficult to follow. She would switch languages mid sentence. Tour time management needs improving. My primary attraction, Roman Aqueduct, was rushed only to have us waiting at the other sites. If known I would have been able to stay longer at the aqueduct and rejoined the group.
Mateo was amazing, would definitely recommend
Really nice tour. Mariana was exelente. Very knowledgeable and good communicating. Only thing to have in mind is that the 5 hrs is not in Segovia this includes the time in the road. You barely have time to go to the bathroom. No time for survenirs. Or to eat. Some nice desserts we tried though. In general Happy with the trip
Everything was great! Roberto was a great guide… the only thing I would suggest is giving us time to shop… the town is adorable, wish we could have shopped alittle… maybe add to the tour.
Very disappointing tour. Our guide appeared to be bored and was not at all enthusiastic. It seemed she had memorized a script and was repeating it. The tour was English and Spanish. Very disjointed presentation, one sentence in each language. Very hard to follow. Her English was not very good. No information was provided on the bus trip out. At the end of the tour, before walking to the bus two people were missing from our group. She made no attempt to find them, took us to the bus where we waited half an hour for them to finally show up. No information was provided for the final meeting place or a way to contact her in case you got misplaced. We took a Julià tour to Toledo the day before and had the totally opposite experience.
Time was too short. Guide had to talk and walk too fast. No time to shop. Hard to keep up on cobbled streets. Enjoyed Mateo.
Excellent tour. Matteo was a wonderful guide. Only wish it had been longer so we had some free time to explore.
Mariana was a great tour guide, very knowledgeable
