We thought it was quite boring. We spent 1 hour 15 minutes on the bus each way. Upon arrival we were given time to go to the restroom. We then spent about 20 minutes with the tour guide where she gave us a brief explanation of the history of the aquaduct and some additional history of area. After that we were given time to walk to the castle where we could view the outside only. We took a few photos and returned to the meeting point. In all, I felt like I had wasted valuable time.

A great way to see Segovia! This is better than training in yourself. It can be cheaper and you get a guide. Berlin, our guide was amazing!
The tour guide was excellent. She provided us with a history of the cathedral, aqueduct, landmarks, buildings and Segovia. We had ample time to explore on our own.
A very nice and informative tour of the key historical points in Segovia. The tour guide was very informative and the transportation to and from Madrid was comfortable. The live audio on the tour on the provided bluetooth headsets could have been better. There was static and background noise at times, making it hard to follow the guide. Overall it is a great way to visit Segovia if you are limited on time.
Lovely trip through Segovia with beautiful views of the city and surrounding countryside. However, our guide spoke in English and Spanish and switched between the two so fast I could not comprehend most of the information she shared about our tour.
Plan to go FAST through this tour. We practically sprinted for the duration of the tour. Zero time to do anything other than hurry from point to point as the guide huffs and puffs her way in a loop around the town. Now that said, Segovia is beautiful and any opportunity to go there shouldnt be missed.
Segovia is interesting enough but the experience depends on the guide. Ours, whose name we don’t know as he never did a proper introduction was unengaged at best. We spent the first wasted 15 minutes searching for toilets ( when all along there was a decent public restroom outside the cathedral - why didn’t he know?) and then had to prompt him for information on the featured and striking aqueduct, which he mumbled through. He also made some inappropriate sexist remarks about a nearby female attendee within earshot of my wife. He barely made reference to the Jewish quarter which was supposed to be part of the tour. After the cathedral - adequate from him - we went our own way to be rid of him. There was no follow up info or dialogue on the bus ride back. This might have been a worthwhile tour with a competent and engaging guide.
Perfect length of time and very informative. 1/2 English 1/2 Spanish. Inoa was our guide and she did a great job.
Our tour guide was very informative and quite humorous. The town of Segovia was cute. I would do another tour like this.
This is a short tour covering highlights in Segovia. Juan did a great job showing the highlights and giving a lot of interesting information. He also provided all information in Spanish and English and did an excellent job with it.
Great way to see Segovia! I didn't have a lot of time to sightsee while here for work and this tour was perfect. We stayed on schedule and our was very knowledgeable. A half day tour means there's not a lot of time to linger in each place but I learned way more than visiting on my own. Highly recommend!
the itinerary was well thought out and the tour guide was well informed. The bus was first rate. Well worth the money
Great experience - beautiful to see. Highly recommend if you have an extra day in Madrid! So much to see and photograph!
We really enjoyed the trip and the city was beautiful. It was just really hard to understand the guide when she kept changing from English to Spanish which felt like mid sentence sometimes. Would love to stay longer but it was perfect for us as we had other plans
The tour is a bit rushed but gives you a good overview of Segovia. Now we know we want to return and stay a couple of days.
Really good overall. The guide was really good and its a beautiful historical place. Five stars. The only thing that might be nice is if the tour keft an hour earlier so you had time to check out the insie of the castle and cathedral. But, i knew ehat ti e it was so im not complaining. Maybe itd be good id the guide had a bright color on them too because it was esy to lose track of where he was. Again, great tour no complaints.
I traveled 15 hours to get to this city and take this tour and I was exactly 8 min late. I called ahead to inform them. They didn't lift a finger to help me. In fact, they outright refused to wait. THEN they charged me another $30 US on top of the $60 US they wouldn't refund me. So $90 US, for a very the luxury of super rude customer service and zero effort to assist. Every tour I have always been on waits 15 min for stragglers. Cause when people travel stuff happens that's beyond their control. That's just human. But to Julia Travel 8 measly minutes on a sleepy Tuesday afternoon would just ruin everyone else's experience. Unbelievable the arrogance with these people. They could've at least been civil about it. But no rude and arrogant and most of all greedy. Don't waste your time.
We didn’t have a lot of time on our last day in Madrid so this was a great day excursion. Our guide was good, the tour was in English and Spanish (we did feel like there was a lot better explaining in Spanish and her English wasn’t that good). It was confusing what we would be doing in Segovia once we got to the aqueduct, but it all worked out- we had about 90-110 minutes in the town in all. We didn’t tour the cathedral but used the extra 30 minutes to shop and take pictures. It was a beautiful trip and definitely worth it!
This was a terrible tour. It was rushed because the tour was delayed due to traffic and would not be extended to make up for lost time. The guide who was supposed to give the tour in Spanish and English did 75 percent in Spanish so the information was lost on us. I want to request a refund!
Well worth the trip! Guide provided great commentary in fluent Spanish and English using headphones. Interesting walking tour through the medieval square, saw Roman aqueduct, cathedral with imposing columns and took photos of castle (Alkazar)
Very interesting! Make it a point to walk down to Alcazar (7 min walk from cathedral) would def recommend this tour
Segovia is a wonderful place but this tour was too short to give it justice. There was no time to ask for any further details or to take a couple of extra pictures.
Great description from our guide, Juan, of Segovia. Got to see main sites of Segovia, but a bit rushed to get it all in in the timeframe.
The Segovia trip is great, but I think that it should 1 hour longer. It is a short trip, but there is a lot to see. I'll recommend to my friends to do the full day tour instead of the afternoon tour. The service from the tour operator was excellent. On time, professional and courteous.
The site is worth visiting, great history and architecture. This was an afternoon short tour so we didn’t get the best experience, we really have to rush, and so did have to do the guide. We missed lots of historical facts and cruise through many other. I definitely recommend to take a full day tour instead.
The highlights of this tour were the beautiful cathedral and the aqueduct. As others have noted, this is a quick tour of Segovia so you will not have a lot of free time to explore on your own. We basically walked through the city , went into and toured the cathedral and then went home. However , if you don’t have a ton of time , this is a great way to at least get a flavor of the city and take some pictures and learn a little about its history. The tour was in both English and Spanish . Would have been better and more efficient if it had been in only one language.
Great deal! Is a little too fast, but you get the most important visiting points out of the time you have. The service is great, the tour guide is kind, and they are right on time! Didn’t have time to try the “cochinillo”
Too little time in Segovia. Visiting the Cathedral really shortened our time. Guide very nice but did not feel she paid enough attention to the pace of her group. Public Banos closed. Sending us off to find them in restaurants not very well thought out.
This was not a good tour. It said it was an English tour, but ended up being English and Spanish. That meant twice as long talking, and since there was more people speaking Spanish, she spent most times speaking Spanish. I was under the impression we were going to have around three hours of free time we had a hour and 30 minutes free time, the guy told us to be back at the bus at 6:15. My wife and I got back at 10 minutes after six. We were the only ones there the tour guide came at 6:40. If I would’ve known, we had another 20 minutes I would not have been in such a rush getting back. And we still waited another 10 minutes on other people.
The tour is far too rushed. No time to have a drink and enjoy the surroundings. Plus the tour guide didn’t wait outside the castle as promised and so we had to find our own way back to the bus.
I would not do this tour again. I’m rating it a 3 because our tour guide was so nice, informative, and amazing. However, the company’s handling of this tour was not good. We had an afternoon tour at 3pm and we were to merge with another tour that was coming from Toledo. The tour office refused to let us use the bathroom when we arrived to the offices 15 minutes early for that exact purpose. They had no solution and we had to run to a bathroom somewhere else and then run to get our seats on our hour-long bus ride. They rushed us on the bus and then made us wait 30 extra minutes because the other bus was running late. This resulted in a tour marathon, where we barely had time to use the bathroom and had no free time as opposed to having 30 minutes of free time as the tour indicated. Only good thing about this tour was our tour guide.
Well organized, informative and fun! This was not something we would have done on our own, so the group tour was the way to go. Beautiful city, learned a lot and had time to sample local goodies. Worth it for sure!
Seeing the city, the Roman Aqueduct, the Cathedral. I think a longer and more detailed visit would have been better, if time had allowed. I also would have liked more information about the countryside between Madrid and Segovia.
Segovia is a charming town but this tour needs to expand to a full day. No time to enjoy old town for even an ice cream or coffee - barely time to take a photo if you wanted to keep up. Guide should have warned at the cathedral of long up/downhill walk. No rest facilities available during entire trip - bus should have stopped at a rest area in both directions. Also, the bus was dirty.
The tour was amazing the castle is awe inspiring the only observation is that the guide had our group literally running to keep up it felt rushed and gave 5 minutes to view the castle and then rush to the cathedral If you were to add an hour to the tour it would a perfect 10
Excellent tour guide. Great tour route. Interesting historical venue and antiquities. Well worth the trip and very reasonably priced.
Great experience with a knowledgeable professional guide. Would definitely recommend this tour to others
The setting was beautiful but the bilingual tour was not what we paid for. We wanted an English tour. Switching back and forth between languages was confusing and annoying. Our guide was knowledgeable, but we couldn’t focus on her words.
I do not recommend this tour. It was advertised as a 5 hour tour conducted in both Spanish and English. Our tour guide Delphina spoke almost no English. She was not able to understand or answer any of my questions. 90% of the walking tour was in silence. She basically was just a person showing us the way to the Segovia castle, no history, no information from Delphina. In the castle the group was passed to another guide who spoke better English, but the information was poor. He tried to make jokes mostly. On top, they cut the tour from 5 hours to 3 hours. We ended up spending only one hour in Segovia, and were told to meet by the bus at 6.15 ( 3 hour mark from when we left Madrid). When I asked why the tour is so short, I was told it all depended on the bus schedule… I ended up not leaving Segovia with the bus tour and staying, I left on a train later. When I asked for a refund of this mediocre experience, my request was rejected. Overall, Segovia is a beautiful town with lots of history and I wish I had a better tour guide. This felt like a rip off (paid about 60 euros). I recommend using a different tour for Segovia experience!
Nice tour. Knowledgable guide. We had Maria. I did find it a bit hard to tell when she switched to English, but overall she was a great guide, very pleasant. Would have been nice to have a full hour or maybe a bit more time to explore the town. We really only went in one shop and a cafe.
Great tour! Carlos was fantastic and Lola at Alcazar was great! Very interesting, town, aqueduct, castle were worth seeing. So glad we included this on our short stay in Madrid. Highly recommend.
Great way to see Segovia for an afternoon without the stress of figuring out how to get there yourself. Highly recommend!
What a great tour! The guide was super knowledgeable, very entertaining and kept the group together. This 5 hour tour was perfect for me as I didn’t have a long time to spend and can get bored on longer tours. They ran on time and were very efficient, Segovia itself is stunning and should be on any itinerary. The aqueduct is a serious feat of ancient human innovation and engineering. A great experience. Thank you! .
Segovia was so beautiful! Our tour guide, Karlos, was awesome! He didn’t miss a beat and had lots of good info. We had a blast and would highly recommend!
The tour guide was excellent. Karlos had a great sense of humor. Enjoyed the castle and the grounds. Segovia was also a cute village
Carlos was brilliant. (He told us to write this - just joking). His knowledge was superb and so was his delivery. Segovia was a magnificent place to visit. The aqueduct was extraordinary, but it’s what we’ve come o expect from those amazing Roman engineers. A great afternoon made even more fun by Carlos’s sense of humour!
Half day tour to Segovia with English guide included a guide who was learning to speak English. Really commendable to learn a new language and being good at it but not for a paid tour where tourist are expecting a professional guide to explain, inform. During the walking tour/ alcazar tour, she spoke for barely 20% of the time and rest of the tour was in silence. Information provided was limited to what you can get through 2 mts of web search, didn’t have much historical knowledge either.
The trip was very disappointing due to the fact that not all the audio devices worked. The tour guide said it was the batteries that weren’t working. I was one of the unfortunate ones who did not get a working audio device. The guide told me to share a device with my husband. Have you ever tried to share a headphone with someone while walking? It is impossible!! So consequently I missed all of the historic part of the tour. Please in the future check your devices for batteries before you start the tour!!
The castle Alcazar of Segovia was the highlight. Everything was a bit too fast on the tour. The view of the castle Alcazar of Segovia in the ads, including Viator asking for this review, was not possible in the tour. The view of the castle outside was from the opposite side of the castle from what is show in the ads. In the Alcazar of Segovia, it was great. And the town of Segovia was quite nice.
Segovia is beautiful. 1/2 a day is fine. You need to wear comfortable shoes the streets are cobblestone. Bring water you’ll need it. They sell it on the bus but it’s not cold. We had several issues. Our group was bilingual- the people on the bus. And so are we. It’s a benefit and a curse. Our tour guide had tech issues and the required headsets did not work. I could live with that. But it was disheartening how little the guide knew about where we were, and the descriptions we were getting of the different places. I don’t need that there was a significant amount of information that was lost when translated into English. That’s in addition to describing certain rooms with incorrect room names. The tour guide was absolutely nice and kind, but not knowledgeable.
