A wonderful way to see the highlights of these three cities in one day. Our guide Marta was great. If you have more time, you might want to choose separate trips to these cities as I would have enjoyed more time in each city but this worked well for us.
The trip was really awesome. Our tour guide Adrian controls the time very well. He was nice and professionally introduced the history and events used to happened in Segovia, Ávila and Toledo. It was a very nice experience to spend with them during this trip.
Martha and Julio made our tour truly unforgettable! Martha was an amazing guide, sharing her knowledge with so much warmth and passion. Julio was a wonderful driver who made us feel safe and comfortable throughout the journey. Both went above and beyond and made us feel so welcomed and cared for. We are truly grateful to have met them. They made our experience extra special, and we couldn’t have asked for a better team. Thank you, Martha and Julio, from the bottom of our hearts! You are simply the best! ❤️👏
⭐ 3.5/5 – Beautiful Cities, but a Rushed and Uncomfortable Experience I recently took a day tour from Madrid to Toledo, Ávila, and Segovia. While all three cities were absolutely beautiful and rich in history, the tour itself left quite a bit to be desired. First, the tour was advertised as having a maximum of eight people, but we ended up with 15! That’s nearly double what was promised, and I specifically booked this experience because I wanted a smaller, more intimate group. The tour was advertised in both English and Spanish, yet only two of us were English speakers. One guest became quite upset that the tour wasn’t entirely in Spanish, creating unnecessary tension right at the beginning. It was an uncomfortable way to start what should have been an enjoyable day. Our guide was pleasant enough, but his historical knowledge seemed fairly basic. When visiting three cities with such extraordinary histories, I would have appreciated more fascinating stories, lesser-known details, and insights beyond the usual tourist information. The biggest issue was the pace. Three historic cities in one day is simply too much to truly appreciate. We spent hours traveling between destinations, with very little free time to explore independently. Bathroom breaks were limited, there was only one real opportunity to eat, and hardly any chances to stop for water, snacks, or simply enjoy our surroundings. It felt like we were constantly rushing from one place to the next. And then there was the bus! Extremely uncomfortable, with so little legroom that I couldn’t sit properly in my seat. I spent much of the journey sitting sideways with my legs in the aisle. For 15 passengers spending so many hours traveling, a larger, more comfortable vehicle would have made a tremendous difference. For the price, I expected a more comfortable and thoughtfully organized experience. On the positive side, the scenery was spectacular, the cities were incredible, and I’m genuinely glad I had the opportunity to visit them. Segovia, in particular, was breathtaking! My advice? Book this tour if you simply want a quick overview of three beautiful Spanish cities. But if you enjoy history, exploring hidden corners, wandering independently, and truly experiencing a destination, I would recommend visiting these cities separately. Overall, a worthwhile day with beautiful sights, but the organization, comfort, and pacing need improvement. ⭐ 3.5 out of 5 stars.
A good way to watch around Madrid in a day. The 2200 years old Roman town of Segovia and the former capital of Spain Toledo were worth watching. Our tour guide Ruben is well aware of the facts and was very helpful. In showing us around.
I asked specifically before purchasing if there was enough time to be able to go up the stairs and get on the top of the Aquaduct’s I was told there would be, and therefore I purchased the full day instead of separating it into two days and there was free time to go up the stairs at all and it was very rushed. Which the Aquaduct are the whole reason most people go there. Then they also did not come into the castle and give a tour which I thought was included. They included the ticket, but NO guide. Several other people said they had the same comment. The guide was very nice and the driver was good. But I would not have taken this Tours if they had answered truthfully about my questions.
The tour was great but I wished I had more time in Toledo instead of spending two hours for lunch at a restaurant in Ávila. Marta, the tour girl was excellent and very knowledgeable.
The tour is incredible. The guide was great and so knowledgeable. On thing is it is a bit long. Only were in Toledo a short time. Should have just done two cities and the next day the other.
The tour is well organized and the guide Adrian was great and knowledgeable and well explained everything. The only thing that was not so convinent is the Bus. It was a coach so space was limited and not comfortable enough. Other than that we enjoyed it and it was a great experience thanks to Adrian.
Marta was a great guide, lots of clear explanations, flexibility on taking questions and adapting to the pace of the group. She certainly understood our needs and did her best to support us. The cities visited have lots of history, monuments and well preserved buildings.
I booked a small group full day tour with Naturanda. The company contacted me one day before informing a change in meeting time as well as meeting point. The problem is that Naturanda never informed that they transferred me to a 50 people tour run for another company. I appreciate the effort for not cancelling the tour 20 hours before … but they must inform that now you will be travelling with 50 people and the experience will be impacted.
We went to 3 different cities called Segovia, Toledo and Avila with our tourguide Lola and she was amazing. Very professional and made the experience very smooth and interesting. Definitely recommend!
I wish we had pick up at hotel . It’s new place and running around to find the pick up place is being a hassle.we had one tour guide speaking 3 languages and getting totally lost in translation. Please have 2 tour guides for English and other languages when you are having 2 or 3 languages in same tour
The three towns were wonderful - however it was VERY difficult to find an open restaurant during our mealtime in Avila. Our guide Reuben was fantastic and very caring for everyone on the tour.
Visiting 3 cities in one day is a trial but the guide did an excellent job.
Today we visit Segovia, Avila y Toledo, unbelievable places, looks like you are watching a movie, many castles and churches. The tour guide, Angel is s the best, very professional and knowledgeable. He is a good asset for the company, explains in both languages, English and Spanish. Gracias Angel.
This tour is such a great option for people with limited time in Madrid. The tour is well organized, the meeting point is easy to find and the experience is stress-free. Be prepared for a lot of walking and driving between the towns. Although the group is small the bus felt a bit cramped. A couple of suggestions to make this tour even better would be to provide listening devices so that you don't miss all the great information that the guide is sharing. We were a small group but sometimes, with the street noise, it was difficult to hear Fatima, our guide. Another suggestion would is to incorporate some photo stops along the way. For example, the outskirts of Toledo, its wall and bridge are perfect for photos, but our tour concentrated on walking only inside the walls so we only got to see the outside while inside of the van. The last suggestion is to perhaps to have lunch at either Toledo or Segovia instead of Avila. The lunch at the restaurant was great but pricey and really the only option there that was easily accessible. As an example, we spent over $100 on lunch for 4 that only included 1 onion soup, a large salad to share, one entree to share and 4 drinks. Overall, however, the experience was worth it.
Our guide Adrian was knowledgeable, kept up the pace of the walking tour so we could see multiple places, and was humerus.
This tour was poorly planned and extremely disorganized. Our party of four booked this tour in English but were put on a bus that combined our tour, which had five English speakers and four Italians, with a French language tour of only Toledo. The escorts were overwhelmed and everything seemed to take a very long time. On the bus to Toledo, we couldn't hear Jason, who gave information in English and Italian, because his colleague was directly behind us giving the information in French. They spoke Spanish to each other. When we approached Toledo and were waiting for the professional guide who never showed up at the meeting point, Jason told his colleague his plan was for her to translate the guide’s French language tour of Toledo for the five English speakers and he would do the same for the three Italians. She replied that she didn’t speak English well enough for that, but he repeated that they should try it. She said again that she didn’t have the vocabulary to translate the tour into English. Once we finally met the guide and the tour started in French, it was clear that she was right. Her English isn’t adequate to translate from French so she just walked along with the group. We gave up and left 5 minutes into the tour of Toledo as it was very frustrating and clearly going to move very slowly with translation needed in two languages by the one escort who could speak English and Italian. If we had been informed that the tour of Toledo would be in French, we would never have booked it. We were completely dissatisfied. In Segovia, Jason was surprised to hear from the driver that we would have to climb the stairs to the Alcazar as the bus was too large to drop us off at the aqueduct. This also took a lot of time and was an unexpected challenge for a couple of the guests. The last frustration was arriving 50 minutes late back to Madrid, making us late for our dinner reservation. The whole day felt like a waste of time. It was a very disappointing experience. I would recommend booking with another company.
Beware. Do not book this trip. These people are unreliable. Booked AM travel from Toledo into Madrid with Omio to meet tour. They cancelled with only 16 hour notice. I booked this Viator tour well in advance with big expectations. I was let down as I was really looking forward to this trip to Segovia. The VERY least they could have done was said “We are Sorry”!!!!!!
Just do it! Loved every minute of my 11 hr day seeing Toledo, Then Avila & last Segovia. Guide gave us plenty of time to take view pictures and all 3 cities have historical buildings. I had the best lunch in Avila at Signodolce. Memorable life time adventure even for this active 80 yr old.
The towns are quaint and worth a visit but not all in one day. The coach was comfortable considering we spent 5 hours of the tour driving. Jose was a great driver. Marta was a bilingual tour guide. Her English was excellent. There was absolutely no free time to shop or even stop for a water or coffee. Bathrooms are always and issue but she did a good job trying to pint them out. Take advantage of them. We saw churches but could not enter them. Basically, just following a flag with a historical narrative. At 6:30/18:30 we got to walk through a palace in Segovia. The lunch recommendation in Avila was less than any food we’ve had in Spain. Go off just down the path after the tower and sit outside and eat. We paid 52 euro for a terrible meal, sitting in the attic of the restaurant where they were running food from. Do a trip to Toledo on its own. See if you can do it on your own by train. Would not recommend this tour.
Amazing the tour was great had an incredible experience would recommend that you are ready to climb up steep streets. I have asthma so it was a bit exhausting, but thanks to your tour guide who directed me to transportation offered to those who couldn't continue to still get there. Thank you
This was one of our most enjoyable and informative trips we had. The cities with the rich cultural and vibrant history was very interesting. We had the fortune of witnessing the grandeur of Holy week processions. The weather was a bit chilly but the places were are also less crowded. The guide was extremely knowledgable and gave us a lot of interesting tidbits along with robust details of the history.
Awesome excursion but make sure you dress accordingly for the weather. Also wear comfortable shoes as well. Our tour guy Andrew made it a great experience for the entire group.
Beautiful cities (Toledo, Avila, Segovia) with a great tour guide. Adrian had a great knowledge of the subject matter and great humour.
Lola was our tour guide and provided an excellent experience. Our tour began at 8:30am and ended at 9pm which required us to spend a lot of time in a tour van. Lola was a great driver and non of our passengers suffered due to motion sickness! Segovia, Avila and Toledo are uniquely beautiful and enriched by Lola's ability to answer all our questions about the ancient history of these locations and there current condition, economy and populations. Lola provided us with ample time to sight see, walk, shop and dine. We also enjoyed fantastic sunshine which added to the value of our tour. We never felt we were being rushed but encouraged to enjoy our time. Thank you Lola for a wonderful experience that I will remember to tell my friends and family for years to come.
The tour guide Fátima was very enthusiastic and highly responsible. Everything was handled extremely well. The explanations of the attractions and historical stories were very detailed and engaging. She was also very thoughtful — personally went to pick up the car first and then came to pick us up.
It is a long tour as it takes 12 hrs but Miguel make it amazing. All the cities are gorgeous and unique. Nice experience and nice tour guide.
Miguel is a wonderful tour guide! He gracefully navigated both English and Spanish during our entire tour day of all 3 beautiful cities. He kept our group on time while allowing just enough time for sightseeing, eating, bathroom breaks, etc. 3 cities, all outside of Madrid, is a lot to fit into 1 day, but this was a great tour overall if you are short on time and still want to see the highlights of these important world heritage sites.
Our excursion began at 9:45am. We were on this tour 4 hours before we had a restroom stop. No bottles of water were offered. We had our first stop for beverages and food at 3:30pm.. This did not make a pleasant experience. Our guide, said everything in Spanish, then English, which was very cumbersome during the 12 hour excursion. The guide lost his microphone, so we could not use the whisperers. We could barely hear him speaking while we walked on this tour. Very disappointed with Viator and this tour company.
I highly recommend this tour. Angel is excellent, professional and acknowledged. The cities are beautiful and full of history. In general the tour was very well organized. I went with my parents.
Nice tour and our guide Ángel shared lots of information and showed us the highlights of the places we visited despite the busy schedule as we have to visit the 3 cities within 1 day.
This was an amazing trip for me my wife and our 4 kids. Angel was our guide. He was very knowledgeable about each city. He told us about their history, their architecture, their culture, their foods. Angel was very friendly. We became friends right away. We learned a lot from him. We loved every minute of it. It was a private tour for just us and we were picked up and dropped off right at our hotel. Highly recommend this tour and especially Angel.
Every thing was excellent except not enough time to eat. It is a long tour but worth it. He explained everything on both languages spanish and English.
Angel was our guide and driver, and he was incredibly knowledgeable and professional. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the tour. The six-person van was comfortable, and he drove safely and smoothly. Although the 10-hour trip extended to over 11 hours, there wasn’t a single dull moment. 5 stars!
We arrived about 10 minutes early as they really stress punctuality and they left on time. The drive was beautiful as we ascended into the mountain areas north of Madrid. The walking tours of Segovia were challenging, in a good way. The cobblestone streets were filled with symbols and ties back to Roman times. My head felt like it was swiveling between watching my steps, looking for symbols, taking in the history and beauty of the buildings we saw. The churches and palaces were incredible. Anvila was more of the same. We had lunch at a quaint old restaurant with many delicious local foods. A shorter visit here due to the lunch and busy day. The drive to Toledo was also fantastic, it was difficult to get a little rest on the ride because of the scenery. I took more pictures on this trip than I had in a year. Angel (our guide) was full of information and shared so much history. Coming from the US, it really puts much of our history in perspective (a true blip in time comparatively). Speaking some Spanish would be helpful on this trip but absolutely not necessary. It is a full day so be ready. Cooler temps in these locations, so check local weather for temps and wind, the wind made it cooler as well as the elevation. There’s not much for free time to roam which would have been nice, but it’s already a packed day. I can’t recommend this enough. Very well organized with knowledgeable guides.
Everything was perfectly organized, the guide was very good, and the tour was both fun and informative. I went with my parents and we had a really great time! 100% recommended!
It was an exciting trip, the trip to Segovia was stunning and beautiful, the trip to Apulia and Toledo was excellent, the guide Antonio tells everything about everything, very worth it
This is a great tour a bit rushed but not too bad. Segovia, Aviala and Toledo are worth visiting if you are in Madrid. The guide gave good information about history but wished it was a bit more detailed. There was no time to do any souvenir shopping in Sagovia and Toledo. The management of the trip could be improved to provide at least 15-30 minutes in each towns for a little bit of shopping exploration.
We really enjoyed this full day of visiting 3 villages. Marta was an excellent guide, and we came away from the tour with a great deal of new knowledge and some visual memories we will never forget.
This is an ambitious trip, visiting Segovia, Avíla and Toledo all in one day from Madrid. We expected it to be rushed and the visit to each city brief and superficial. Our main complaint is that the tour is a bilingual tour, the guide is Spanish, so you can hear that the introductions in Spanish are a lot longer than the ones in English, and our guide visibly struggled with the explanations in English. But our guide was friendly, and we had pleasant tour mates, which is always a plus.
Our tour guide, Patricia, provided an exceptional explanation of every detail. Despite our tardiness, she effectively managed our time, ensuring that we arrived back in Madrid on schedule. The tour is highly recommended, offering an immersive experience that allows you to explore the city’s highlights.
The guide has the patience to explain each and everything little thing visitor has to know. And the pickup and drop off are right on time.
Trip was solid, and Edwardo and Jose Marie were solid. And I would recommend doing all 3 cities in one day. However I booked a small tour and in the end it looks like for cost savings they combined with another tour. Always very inappropriate to change a small tour expected in a mini van to a bigger tour in a bus. Looses the point if you’ve done your homework and made a choice then get something else. I personally like only small tours. Viator can be a solid product, but that sort of bait and switch compromises its integrity. Again if you don’t mind a bus tour with lots of people this tour is solid. Probably a 4 or 5. They do break you up in 2 groups, but I choose tours that I don’t travel by a big bus and felt deceived by that aspect
While the sites visited were amazing, the tour started late, we weren't allowed into two places that we were told we would be allowed to get into when we booked (apparently they stop allowing entrance into the Cathedral and Alcazar after Oct 1st but failed to let us know before the tour started, they did offer a 30€ refund each but only after we all asked about why we didn't get to go in) and we requested an English tour but our tour guide didn't have a strong command of English so we only got about half the information that the Spanish speakers on our tour received. We did contact the tour company but were basically given the same explanation (the tour changed Oct 1 - with no notice, but no further explanation or credit).
The office is clean, professional and comfortable. We were taken to a Mercedes Van for our trip to the 3 towns. Angel was an excellent guide! He knows the history and architecture so well. His explanations were in both Spanish and English. They were all identical, but due to the differences in language (length?) I can see how some reviewers felt like they weren’t getting the whole story… you were! Angel was kind and patient, answering all questions and guiding us to details I doubt most tourists see. The cost and tour were well worth it! All 3 cities are interesting and totally different. It is a long day, and plan to go back to spend time in your favorite city to explore more if you don’t get enough. We will definitely get back to Avila to walk on the walls! The restaurant was outstanding that Angel recommended. No souvenir store push - but we were taken into one store to see the artist at work. Fascinating.
Emilio was a great tourguide and communicated well with us. We've really experienced a unique afternoon with him. Best wishes from Switzerland :)
I’m really glad I did this tour. Toledo and Segovia were such pretty towns. Patricia was a great tour guy and gave us some really interesting historical information. She was also great at keeping everyone together and keeping the day moving along. I definitely recommend.
