Sangria Workshop And Tasting With Local Cheese

Really disappointed with this experience. We booked a sangria workshop for 5pm and showed up at the meeting spot on time, only to be left waiting outside with no one there. After waiting around, I finally reached out to ask if we were even at the right location. They got back to me saying there was an issue with their booking system and they never received our reservation. They also said they don’t normally do workshops on Thursdays, so I’m not sure why we were even able to book one for that day. We’re visiting Madrid on vacation and had planned our day around this. We spent time and money getting there and ended up waiting around for 30 minutes for a workshop that wasn’t even happening. They apologized, issued a refund, and offered us a free workshop the next day, but we already had plans for the following day so that wasn’t really an option. I get that mistakes happen, but it’s frustrating that nobody reached out to let us know. If I hadn’t messaged them, we probably would’ve just kept standing there waiting. Just really disappointing, especially when you’re on vacation and have limited time to do things.

It was great! We went with my son abroad and my boyfriend. Fun for all ages!

i loved this workshop! our guide, miguel, is really kind and playful, and made us feel very welcome. the price for the ticket pays for itself, you drink several glasses of sangria (at least i did) that you had a part in making, and you also get to taste some cheeses and learn which go well with the red or white sangria. it was not a big group so it felt intimate as well. it was super fun and if i ever come back to madrid, i would happily do this workshop again for the experience! i left that building absolutely buzzing ahahaha

SO much fun! The owner was fantastic. He explained everything in great detail and made the experience one to remember. The Sangria was excellent, the cheeses were perfect, and the atmosphere was light hearted and fun! If you have a free afternoon, don't miss this. The only suggestion I would make is to give clearer directions to the shop. We had a very hard time finding it. Mentioning that is is on the second floor would be a big help! We passed by about 5 times before we found it with the help of a down stairs tenant. HIGHLY recommend!!!

This was a really fun class and a great way to spend an evening in Madrid. There were 6 of us ladies, tired from a very long day of travel from Canada but the 2 hour class and cheese tasting experience perked us right up and made us really excited for our vacation in Spain. Both the Sangria and the cheeses were excellent. We all highly recommended this class!

Ivan was our host who was alot of fun. Very knowledgeable about the process of making a sangria and all the local cheeses you may find during your time in Spain. Plenty of samples and so much Sangria!! Whatever doesn’t get finished can be taken when the class is done. After the class, Ivan sent us a massive list of recommendations for the Madrid area, and the recipes for the sangria! Highly recommend, definitely worth it and would do it again if I came back to Madrid

I had a lot of fun! We had a small group and Ivan explained perfectly how we make the best sangria. It was very interactive and loved that he was looking that everyone had a task. Also the cheese was perfect! Ivan explained the differences very well. Thank you!

What a fun evening! My husband and I had a great time with the others in our class making sangria, trading cheeses and sharing our recent adventures in travel. Silvana was a great teacher - friendly and knowledgeable. In fact we've already had friends over for a sangria night a few weeks after returning home. I'd highly recommend this workshop. ¡Salud!🍷

I had this experience given as a birthday present. I thought it was very fun, engaging and loved it. The sangrias were prepared as a team effort with everybody else on the workshop, and they tasted amazing! Will definitely prepare for summertime. And the cheese tasting afterwards was delicious, I learned of some pairings I wouldn't have thought of before. Highly recommended for anybody who wants to have a different afternoon!

We loved the sangria workshop! Learning how to make it was so fun and the best part was tasing it! 🍷 Silvana was fun and a great instructor The recipes they gave us will be fun to try at home. We attend with our 25 year old daughter and she loved it too!

This experience is worth the hangover!! We had so much fun and really enjoyed both the sangria and cheese. Excellent value for money and a really enjoyable way to spend the afternoon. I especially loved that our host Iván sent us the sangria recipes, the list of cheeses, photos and loads of local recommendations afterwards too! I only slightly regret finishing off the white sangria single-handedly afterwards 😂

This is a fun experience to learn how to make authentic sangria. The timing of the activity was not well planned and there needs to be another dish or something made to help fill out the time. We did all have to cut up fruit but the knife was very dull and dangerous. Overall, did not feel like an overall good value. The guide was nice and inclusive and made it fun however

Our guide was very nice, made sure everyone was happy and everyone participated in the making! Checked for any allergies! I thought the location / setting was just ok.

We had the best time with Dani as our host! Ended up making the best sangria and enjoying it with the local cheeses were exceptional - I even liked the blue cheese. We had a fun girls group and ended up hanging out afterwards as well as Dani did a lot to create a welcoming and fun atmosphere with great ice breakers and lots of fun but interesting facts. We loved it! Would recommend to anyone visiting Madrid or staying here as a local. So much value for the money.

We learned so much about Spanish wines, regional cheeses, and how to properly make authentic sangria — and of course, enjoyed every single bite and sip. Miguel was an outstanding host. He was knowledgeable, engaging, and made the whole experience feel warm and personal rather than scripted. You can tell he truly loves Spanish gastronomy and sharing it with others. He made us feel completely welcome from start to finish. This was the perfect way to begin our trip to Madrid. Was a great experience with a fantastic guide.

This was so much fun. We went with our cousins and friends and learned how to make red and white sangria. But possibly my favorite part was learning which cheese to pair with which sangria. Or maybe my favorite was beating my brother in the competition to open the bottle of wine fastest.

This was awesome! So much fun to learn and make the sangria, and the cheese was great. Fun way to meet new people and taste yummy food! 10/10 recommend

Miguel was a spectacular host and educator for this tour. It’s quite an intimate setting with a lovely atmosphere! We had so much fun and learnt a lot about cheese! Plus the sangria was lovely 🍷

We had fun learning how to make Sangria. Dani did a terrific job involving each of the guests in the process, and sharing her knowledge about the history of the wine. We enjoyed sitting down with the other participants to share stories, relax and enjoy our Sangrias with a variety of cheeses. This was a perfect way to start the evening, and still have time to do more in Madrid.

This was a great experience! I booked this last minute an hour before the tour started and I was worried. But everything was great, the location is a little weird in front of a shopping area. But everything after was just great. The sangria workshop was so much fun, I can’t wait to try it out at home! The cheeses were great and the group had so much fun finishing the red and white sangria we made! Would give this 6 stars if I could!

Iván, the chef, was wonderful!! We were a small group, so Ivan was extra personable and gave us the best recs in Madrid. No alcohol or cheese was spared. We were full for dinner and had enough to drink for the rest of our trip!

Lots of fun making both red and white sangria. Also tried wonderful cheese with jams and breads. Ivan explained everything so well.

We ended up there with 2 other couples who were a lot of fun, and the instructor was great and had a lot of information about Spain in general, which was great as we were in Spain for the first time. The sangria was fantastic and strong, and we loved the cheese as well! Would definitely go back.

This was a great way to spend the early evening. We made two delicious sangrias. The white sangria was a real revelation! We also had four cheeses from Spain and a chance to sit and chat with our fellow visitors. Very enjoyable. Would recommend. And immense value for money too.

It was such a wonderful experience. The group was small and friendly, and the workshop walked us through each step and ingredient for making both white and red wine sangria. Dani, our guide, was so unbelievably sweet, making the experience interactive and asking us questions about the history of sangria and such. At the end, the cheeses were amazing, as Dani walked us through the unique nuances in each cheese and in cheese tasting in general. She also provided us with many recommendations for the best food, wine, and sights, among many more things. My dad and I went to this workshop and we had a fantastic time! The only thing I would suggest for anyone looking to book this is to do it at the beginning of your trip, as I only wish we had time to utilize the many recommendations before we left. Overall, wonderful experience, and Dani was absolutely amazing!

Absolutely amazing! Ivan is the best! Sangria was incredible. We made red and white. We also got all kinds of cheeses, fruit, bread and sweet treats. Well worth the money!

We truly enjoyed our host Miguel tonight. He is very special, knowledgeable and charismatic. We highly recommend this experience with Miguel. He gave us the opportunity to make the sangria from scratch and the selection of cheeses was amazing. What a truly amazing experience, thank you Miguel. 💜💙
