Our one and a half hour tour was worth doing because the guide used humour to make what could have been a long traipse really interesting.

Ander was our guide and he was incredible and very knowledgeable about the history of the Royal Palace and also of Spain. He has a love for history and you can tell he loves his job and likes teaching the history. He has a great personality! Take this tour when in Madrid !
The meeting point was a little disorganized. We ended up waiting late for late comers. The guide was excellent and friendly.
The Palace itself is a very good visit and I would definitely recommend it. The audio guide is through your phone via an app, so you really need headphones or you’ll have your phone stuck to your ear all of the time, so that’s not so good. What I absolutely would avoid is booking with Naturanda. (who TripAdvisor used). The timing of our visit was changed the day before despite booking one month ago. Any other day we are here, we wouldn’t have been able to fit this in. Our new timing was 12.30pm, except the pick-up office was closed. Our contact Manuella, eventually showed up at the office at 12.49pm with no hint of an apology - opening line: “you waiting for me”?. She really couldn’t have cared less. Our tickets would actually have let 12 people in according to the entrance staff so I guess we had been switched to a group tour? What happened to our 2pm tickets, who knows? So do see the Palace, but find another ticket selling company based on our experience.
All in all a terrible experience, there was no communication about where to pick up a physical ticket. We had to walk back-and-forth and then 20 minutes for someone to give us the tickets. The audio tour had nothing to do with the rooms in the Palace. Absolute Scam!!!
Great tour, our tour guide Marta was fantastic. The meeting point is about a 10 minute walk from the palace. Our tour operator cancelled our booked time with no notice. We only found out when we went to collect our tickets. Luckily Marta and her colleague helped us out and booked onto another tour
Was no good at all. Museum was closed for that day.
Our experience was cancelled twice. We scheduled then were informed it was canceled. We rescheduled for the day before then were informed less than 12 hours before our time that it was cancelled again.
Purchased months in advance and they didn’t have my tickets available at pickup. She mentioned this is a common system issue. So why allow people to buy if it’s not guaranteed?
No tickets available and only communicate on the date of the activity. Unable to reschedule and we need to line up by ourselves for nearly an hour to get a ticket.
Well worth the visiting . One of the best palaces I’ve seen . Beautifully maintained and displayed a must
The Palace was closed. I did not receive a prior communication. I went to the point to redeem my vouchers then I learned the Palace was closed. The lady in the office looked in my phone for any type of communication but there wasn’t. She said I should wait for reimbursement for about two weeks.
Lola was a likeable, knowledgeable guide who made the tour very interesting. I would recommend it. However, it should have been clearer that you don’t pick up your headphones or ticket from the palace.
You don't pick up your tickets at the Palace, it is half mile away and if you have mobility issues, get a cab, because you get a ticket at the location and have to walk back to the other side of the palace for entry. Be use to give yourself at least 30 minutes just to pick up the ticket. Additionally, Viator advertises it includes an audio guide. When we returned to the. Palace they said it did not include audio guide and had to pay an additional 10 Euros. I only have the receipt on our credit card statement, which will not have for a couple of weeks.
Our guide Enrique was great. Very knowledgeable with a good sense of humor. Took the shorter of the tour options, was the perfect amount of time.
You need to be aware that the provider does not send you your tickets by email. You have to walk 10 minutes in the heat of Madrid to the office where you pick up the printed tickets. They are also not very happy to see you when you show up. Then you have to go back and stand in line at the Palace entrance (there is only one). In addition, the audioguide has to be downloaded as an app and you have to use your own headphones. If you have a child (children do not have phones) then they cannot use the audioguide you have paid for. I had to pay an additional 10 euros for the audioguide at the Palace which is excellent and very child friendly. Has challenges on it to complete at the Palace. The visit itself is highly recommended. On the morning of the visit, VIATOR sent me an email asking me to come at a different time to the one I had booked. It was very confusing.
Our Guide Ruben, like the sandwich, was fantastic. He was very insightful and had lots of information. He was easy to understand and was able to answer all of our questions. We got through the tour in under 90 minutes, which seemed to be enough time, but not unnecessarily long.
It does not include entry to the kitchen and not the pharmacy or library. Loved that the audio guide was blue tooth enabled for people with hearing loss.
I didn't realize that we had to go to a separate location first to check in and have our guide walk us there. Once we figured that out, all was good.
we had not made any reservation n arrived at 10:10 on sunday morning. we waited for about 15min for security clearance. v nice walk there. free storage for my back pack.
You need to walk .5 miles pass the palace to get tickets at tourism office. The office vwas closed, hadvto call Viator who was able to get holdcl of the office persson who showed up 10 minutes later. Another half mile walk to palace. The audio tour was not the same the palace offers with headphones, but an app that you download on your phone, which was impossible to hear if you dont have earbuds. Skip this experience and buy tickets directly from palace websitw3
We took a taxi to the pick up location. However, there is no street in front of the location. It is in a plaza up some stairs from street. the taxi let us out a block over and we had to find our way from there. When I booked online, my reservation was for 1PM. when I got to the pick up location, they told me that it was for 2:15 PM. there was no attempt to remedy the discrepancy. we took our time walking to the palace and security let us in a few minutes early. The rooms are beautiful. Some are air-conditioned, some are not. come prepared for heat. At the entrance is a large staircase that must be climbed to get to the quarters. However, we asked an attendant about an elevator and thankfully , they had one for a person with limited ability to climb stairs.
got ticket confirmed and paid for, then got changed by ticket office but no update from trip advisor, had to sort out ourselves. ticket office very helpful and obliging. Would have been much easier without trip advisor so we know for next time.
It was fun to learn about spanish history
A very interesting tour. I learned a lot about the history of the Royal Palace and the purpose of the different rooms. The tour lasted about 1 hour and 15 minutes, which was the perfect length. The guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly enjoyed sharing his passion for the palace. Highly recommended!
Our tour guide was Fantastic!
Marta was an excellent guide. She was approachable, friendly, amusing and very informative.
One of the most beautiful palaces I have seen in my life, it is beautiful both inside and out, it is the second time that I book with this company and the truth is everything in order. I had the same guide as in the museums and the experience was very enjoyable as well. Thank you Miguel
The palace was very nice but our time was booked for 12, when e we arrived at the Viator ticket pick up they said our time had been moved to 1:45 despite many reminder from them that our tour was at 12 as booked, this is the second excursion on our trip that our booked time was changed causing conflict with our other bookings
What can I say? It’s a palace a royal palace at that. It was nice to look at and see. It’s well worth the money easy to find and we had a pretty nice day.
I would recommend they not use your site. I could never access my tickets and as a result, I had to buy them at the location
Sorry but I need to leave a negative review. Palace tour is great but.... Firstly, the meeting point is not at the palace, its at a office, 20min walk away. Secondly, this was booked to include the audio guide, surprise no audio guide provided. Had to pay extra for the code after you download the app and use my own airpods which luckily I had with me. Best part is the audio guide wouldn't load sometimes due to bad cell signal in the palace. Sent a message asking for a partial refund. No answer yet.
We could not fault the palace. It was good value for money, and we were able to view much more than we have visited around Europe. The audio guide on the phone was very informative. However, we booked through Tripadvisor. We added to our phone wallet as instructed by the app, only to find when we got to the palace, that the tickets given were not accepted. We had to go to walk to an office which was not easy to find, for them to issue us the correct ticket. We noticed that other people were having the same problem. Thankfully although we were 30 minutes later than our allocated time, the Palace did allow us entry. After this experience, I will not book tickets through Tripadvisor again
The palace was spectacular. The audio guide wasn’t helpful for us. It wouldn’t download on our iPhones They did have a brochure explaining each room.
The staff at the location where I booked my ticket were really friendly and helpful! I would have given 5 stars but the only problem was the audio guide never fully downloaded on my phone so I didn't get full descriptions of the interior.
The palace called the day before my visit. They cancelled due to "capacity." They offered another day which was not doable. The rep said I should try to get a refund from the company that issued the ticket. Viator refunded the purchase price even though if was after the cancellation window. Great customer service.
Book through the Palace website it’s easier. We booked through Natura, stood in line, was handed our tickets and told to download this app for audio guide portion. However half of us kept getting an error and the one who was able to successfully download it had only 1 piece of info (how the palace came to be), there was no “audio” portion to each room. We ended up paying at the palace for their audioguide. Bit misleading by company. Palace was amazing so if you can book through the Palace do so!
Worst and very rude tour guide. I tried contacting them several times via msg, call that Im running late and that I have a baby, no response. When I reached the meeting point just 10 mins late, there was a different language tour and she was super rude and misbehaved. Even after I explained my situation, she embarrassed me infront of her group of tourists and refused to give me any contact details to modify my reservation. They had already charged us the money. Never book with this group
I booked a tour for the Royal Palace of Madrid three weeks in advance. When I got to the ticket place to get the passes, they told me it was canceled because it was too busy. I overheard the girl say the same thing to the family in front of me aswell. They had no solution except for a different tour, not the one I booked, for the next day. However we were leaving the next day. We then asked for a refund and they said that we would have to follow up and call or email to get the refund. The girl also claimed that she tried to call me and let me know it was canceled a day in advance. However I never got a call from them. Our tour was also a self guided tour. So my best guess is that they overbook every time, and then cancel a good chunk of the ones that don’t need a guide or are self-guided. They then make it inconvenient to get a refund in hopes to keep the money. Don’t use this company.
This is not “skip the line” entry ticket! Basically, someone from tour agency stands in normal line (Buying tickets in person. They don’t even buy tickets in advance!) and when agency sends the tourist with reservations to the guide, he/she is supposed to just cut the line behind and let the tourists go before him/her! With our tour, they booked too many people (around 15) and the guide said he can’t let us cut in because it’s too many people so we ended up going to the back of the line and waited for over 1.5 hours. This is a scam in my opinion! Do not book with Naturanda agency!
After placing the order on Groupon I thought I would just pick up a ticket from their office. Instead I was offered a guided tour and they claimed it’s a free upgrade. I reached their office at 945 only to know the group had about 30 people. As you can imagine we had to wait for different people here and there and didn’t get into the palace until 1045. I had to quit and went for a tour myself because I needed to catch a train. I would strongly advise you just buy a ticket with audio options from the palace. You have more flexibility and don’t have to waste time waiting for others. It’s not worth the price.
This tour is an absolute joke! You meet a lady in the tour office it’s definitely not a skip the line tour we wanted over 35 minutes then she had no tickets for us and then couldn’t buy us our tickets her card wasn’t working! Horrible experience we were all waiting and very frustrated!
Our tour guide was wonderful! She was knowledgeable, patient and kind. I learnt a lot and had a great experience! Would definitely recommend it
Skip this tour. It’s better to buy the ticket at the palace and for an extra 5 euro get their audio. This trip with Viatour we had to use our phones which didn’t download quick enough and the screen kept reverting back. It was very clunky
Was nice to get in through the "group" section. That went very fast. However this one tour operator did not leave on time. If we were to check in 15-20 minutes prior to the tour starting I would expect we would leave on time. Perhaps in the future any one not there on time we leave on time. The entire group should have to wait because one person didn't show up on time.
Viator sent a voucher which I could not use at the venue tho this was stated only towards the end of the email The tourist operator who could issue the ticket was 20 minutes from the venue then the only person who could actually give me my ticket for the fee I had paid to redeem my voucher had left the office and never came back - Naturanda Madrid - one person was in the office and said she could not possibly help
There is some climbing up & down stairs involved in this tour. There are elevators are available if needed.
There was no skip the line, because the company hasn’t gotten us any tickets, so we waited for over an hour in line. I don’t know what I paid 108€ for
I booked 3 tickets for 108€. It was supposed to be tickets so we could skip the line and get and audio guide. When we arrived they had no tickets to us, but instead we were following a man who led us into the line with people who hadn’t bought a ticket yet. So with waited for over an hour for him to buy us three tickets, 14€ each. The audio guide didn’t even have all of the rooms in the royal palace! So I don’t know what I paid 108€ for. We could have stand in line ourselves, we don’t need a guide for that?
This tour was messed up from the start. Tour guide was late. All of the headsets were inoperable. Tour guide when he finally arrived did not even tell us who he was. Very disapointed with it all. We had to download the tour on our phone to listen to the audioguide but we did not know that before we started so I did not have my earbuds with me because I did not know I needed them. The app needed was also not very user friendly. Part of my group could not even get it to work so the palace was just a walk through with no guide. The whole experience was just sad.
