The wine was phenomenal but Ismael’s knowledge made the trip amazing. Great mix of humor and story telling as well. Would love to do this with him again and recommend anyone booking this tour to ask for Ismael!

Itinerary
Meeting Point: At the front door of the cafetería of hotel Claridge, next to the main door of the hotel. Plaza del Conde de Casal, 6, 28007 Madrid Closest Metro Station: Conde de Casal (Line 6) The use of cafeteria facilities is only allowed for their customers. Please, don't be late, the tour departs on time. Always estimate it will take you 10-20min longer than what maps say and plan your route to the meeting point the night before. It is possible to join the group at the first stop, but any additional cost to catch up is the responsibility of the client who did not arrive on time. You will be picked up in Madrid at 9:15am and depart towards Ribera del Duero. The Duero river, also known as the river of wine, is about 2 hours from Madrid and it is the home of tempranillo, the most famous Spanish grape variety (red wines with full body and lots of fruit).
This tour will bring you an exceptional experience, blending new and old wine making techniques, vineyards growing in extreme weather conditions, and the work of families who have converted this great region into one of the most popular red wine regions in the world. Let us accompany you among landscapes of contrasting colors, wines full of taste and aromas, traditional cuisine, and the exceptional heritage that is still preserved in the wine region of Ribera del Duero.
You will do a full visit in the first winery, learning about winemaking in Ribera (riverside in Spanish), and understanding tempranillo wine from the grape to the bottle. First stop will be one of the most representative wineries in the region, where you will taste the freshness and elegance of their aged wines, feeling the extraordinary complexity of this land. Please note that this itinerary is an example only and may be subject to change.
Second Winery: The second winery we visit is in harmonious modernity with the environment; it is open to the vineyards. This link between the interior and the exterior is a statement of the necessary functionality of spaces, nature and history. Everything stands up as a new concept of wine. We always select wineries that are different, mixing tradition and modernity, to get a broad understanding of one of the most famous wine regions in the world. Every stop will bring a surprise and you will learn about traditional wine making, modern architecture and limited productions that make special wines. Please note that this itinerary is an example only and may be subject to change.
There will be free time to have lunch at your own choice (lunch is not included in tour price: we do not impose a menu). You can lunch in a traditional restaurant with several options of Castilian regional food ranging from tapas, a light lunch or a full 3-course lunch (approx. budget: tapas 12/15€, full 3-course 30€). Please note that this itinerary is an example only and may be subject to change.
Third winery: a medieval underground cellar, with a total length of about 4 mi and excavated about 40 ft deep (networks of incredible tunnels that run through the subsoil of the city and are intended for the preservation of wines that have been made since the Middle Age). Here, we will learn part of the history of the Ribera del Duero. Please note that this itinerary is an example only and may be subject to change. Note that the order of the wineries and locations change depending on the day.
After the scenic stops, all that remains is to relax and enjoy the return to Madrid. The arrival will take place around 20h. The Ribera del Duero Wine Tour from Madrid, ends at the original meeting point.
End of the tour: get back to Madrid with the memory full of great flavors and wonderful experiences. The duration of the tour is between 10 to 11 hours depending on the traffic in Madrid.

Muna was informative and fun. The tunnels were amazing at last stop.
We were in a small group of 3 couples all from different countries. Tour guide Ismael had perfect bilingual speaking was very personable, knowledgeable and made the winery tours so interesting and enjoyable.
Great wineries. Our guide Ismael was great!
I enjoyed this trip. There was a good selection of wines and the wineries were interesting especially the wine cave of the 3rd winery. The guide Enrique was excellent. He knew a lot about Spanish wines as well as wines around the world. He also made sure the lunch was enjoyable by selecting a good place and making the food order.
Fantastic tour Muna was amazing as a guide and each winery is amazing.
Ismael was amazing! Very knowledgeable with every part of the trip and was very fun as well. Would definitely recommend

This was an amazing wine experience. The guide was knowledgeable and informative.
Ismael was informative and a great guide during the trip
Fantastic wine tour for a half day spent outside of Madrid limits. We went to 3 different wineries, each better than the next. Ismael was very informative about the wine making process and about how each winery was uniquely special. Worth the money and would take this tour again!
Ismael was a fantastic guide on the wine tour.
Very fun time drinking wine and learning y the cultural history of Madrid wine making
Excellent wine tour of the area with our guide during the Ribera del Duero Wine Tour. Three wines and an organized lunch in the village. Ismael was an informative and friendly guide for the day.
The best guide ever Ismail Suarez is A passionate expert, thank gör a wonderful day
This was a wonderful experience!! The wines were wonderful and the wineries were beautiful. We all loved seeing the underground cellars at the last winery we toured.
Our guide was an excellent driver and host and led the tours as we were all English speaking. He has WSET diploma which means he is the equivalent of a certified Sommelier. The wineries were all family owned and very unique. I am in the wine business and highly recommend this tour to people of all levels f wine education. Ismael was our host and he was awesome!
Ismail our guide is simply amazing. He understands the wines as well as the history of winemaking in Spain, and all those combine to lead us to an amazing wine tour with three totally different wineries, starting with a new wine business, to a well-established winery, and ending the day with an astonishing historic winery. Simply amazing tour. I highly recommend it.
Ismael is an amazing tour guide and definitely made our whole trip! He is very professional in wine and have a great enthusiasm. He introduced a lot of the area, people and history a lot of thing way more beyond the wine. It’s our first time been in Madrid and we are very glad attend this trip.
Ismael is our guide and he is very knowledgeable.. three wineries that he brought us to were all very nice. Love the cave tour at ValSotillo .. very impressive
Amazing experiencia i never seen anything so unique Ismael is fantastic
Ismael was an absolutely outstanding guide for our Madrid Countryside wine tour. His wine expertise (WSET 4) really enhanced the experience allowing us to ask detail wine questions that other guides may have struggled with. This was our last tour in Madrid and definitely the best.
We have one of the best experiences in our life, hearing first hand the proses of the wine is priceless! Our tour guide Muna was great. I really recomend this tour to all of the wine lovers!
Great winery trip to do with family or family. Ismael was our tour guide, excellent. Very informative, took the time to explain everything and given us recommendations not only for the wine, also at lunch time. Highly recommend.
An incredible experience with Ismael as a guide. Unforgetable, eductional and worth the price.
Ismael was an excellent tour guide! He provided interesting and informative details at every stop along the route, making the entire experience memorable and one I would love to repeat. Thank you, Ismael, for such a wonderful tour!!
Ismael was excellent and the best. Kept us entertained and was very knowledgeable of the wine topic. The winery selection was great and everyone was very friendly and happy to teach us. 100000% recommend.
Hose! He is very good guide. He try to explain every things about wine. And 3 spot was perfect. Because they have so different type of making process. It was nice experience.
Enrique is an excellent guide. He knows wine and the local wine scene and shares based on the experience and varied interests of the group. The price was right, each winery was different and high quality, and we spent the right amount of time at each place. Everyone had fun and enjoyed the local wine. Highly recommend.
Enrique was awesome and the wineries chosen were perfect! Enrique shared so much knowledge about Spain’s wine culture, varieties and practices, the long drive to Ribero del Duero went so quickly. Highly recommended! The ONLY negative was that there wasn’t a closer meeting point for our stay, which meant a 25 mine Uber, but that’s a small issue. Thanks Enrique!!!
had a wonderful day with Enrique, he was knowledgeable and knew everything about the wineries we visited. 3 very different wineries in one day was plenty! enjoyed the small group as well- definitely book if you get a chance.
Excellent tour with amazing wine tasting and history of wine making of three different vineyards. Our guide Ismael was the best. Recommend 100%
Ismael is the best host! Visited three amazing wineries, learned so much about wine production and all the hard work that goes into each individual bottle. Thank you!!
This was a fabulous tour. Ismael, was exceptionally knowledgeable! He spoke very good English and Spanish. The tour includes a variety of wineries...new and artisnal, one that is larger volume with exceptional, easy drinking wines, and the last winery is filled with history and amazing wine-exceptional on the palette. Ismael was truly the best. Do not miss this tour.
Experiencing a Spanish wine tour has been a bucket list item for us, for several years, and we are so grateful to have had Ismael as our guide. He guided us through 3 different wineries with great attention to detail, a genuine love for the craft, and pride in how they are made. Our favorite winery was ValSotillo, where we began our tour learning about the underground wine cellars that spanned, overall, across 2 miles and ended with an incredible rose and 2 red wines. He did an incredible job answering our questions no matter how random they were. Listen to his local recommendations. For lunch we tried local dishes, that I will be thinking about for years to come. If you’re on the fence about booking this tour, like we were, I would book. You should come well rested and ready to learn about how Spain has shaped the wine industry across the country and world.
The mix of vineyards was great. We saw a artisnal winery, a large winery, and a more classic hostorical winery. Ismael has extensive vino knowledge and was very personable. We had plenty of time at each place and they took the time to answer all the questions we had.
Great tour, we had a great experience wine tasting gave a very good understanding of Rivera Del Duero wine region, Ismael was a great tour guide, clear bilingual explanation and facilitating the experience for both knowledgeable and inexperienced wine tasters. Very recommendable!
Great experience, wonderful team and guide leader
This was a wonderful tour/experience! Each winery was fantastic and had quality, delicious wines. The first winery, Territorio Luthier, was small but top notch. They buy their grapes and produce wines that are sold to top level restaurants. The second winery, Bodega Bela, was larger and produced more. The winery was beautiful. We stayed with our tour guide for lunch (optional) and he directed us to a delicious local spot. It was originally a winery but is now a restaurant. The grilled lamb chops and small toast bites were delicious. Finally, the last stop, Val Sotillo, may have been my favorite. The history and use of the underground tunnels was not only interesting but amazing to see. These wines were very very good and the atmosphere of the winery and tasting room was quaint, historic and rustic. I would highly recommend this tour and guide!
The tour was incredibly well structured and thought out. Each of the three wineries was distinct in their own way. Ismael, a wine maker himself, clearly understands how to make the most of a day in this particular wine region. I highly recommend this tour for the variety and quality of the wines. Additionally, the restaurant recommendation between the 2nd and 3rd wineries is fantastic - do NOT skip the lamb.
My husband and I had an incredible experience on this tour! We were visiting Spain for our honeymoon and wanted an authentic but non-touristy wine tasting experience. Our tour guide Ismael was so helpful, kind and super knowledgeable about all things wine. Each winery was unique in experience but all had great wines. We enjoyed the smaller, up and coming winery as well as the historic family based one too. A great experience that I would do again and recommend to family and friends. All the wineries had a range of wines for purchase and each one felt appropriately priced, or even under expected price. This tour was an awesome snapshot of the different wineries across Ribera del Duero.
Excellent selection of 3 different wineries. Guide Ismael was very personable and knowledgeable Highly recommend this tour.
Ismael was a great guide and took us to a great variety of wineries and locations.
Excellent experience. Ismael great and very knowledgeable guide. We visited three wineries with different characteristics and received explanations about the process of wine elaboration
Highly recommend the Ribera del Duero wine tour! Our guide Ishmael was exceptional - organized, on time, and most importantly, very knowledgeable on the wine region and the wines, going in depth on the terroir and grapes within the region. The three wineries were exceptional, with healthy pours of three red wines at each and interesting overview of the wine making process. What was great was the variation in the vineyards (size, process, etc.) which added to the experience. highly recommend and definitely highly recommend Ishmael as your guide!
I cannot say enough about this small group all day tour! Well organized. Professional but personable. Our guide, Ismael, who has a background in winemaking, was fun, informative, polite, very interactive, personable, in other words, the very best one could hope for in a tour guide. The wineries were very diverse and never boring. The entire experience felt special, unique, deluxe, relaxed, yet informative/ educational. I would highly recommend and would schedule future tours out of Madrid with this company and if possible, with Ismael, and forget shopping around….
I loved this tour! We saw 3 very different winery’s, got to taste many terrific wines and see how it’s made. Ismael was a great guide! So attentive and knowledgeable. We were the only English speakers in the group and he always took the time to translate for us. Take this tour; you won’t be sorry! If you’re lucky Ismael will be your guide!

Ismael was absolutely fantastic! He was incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and attentive throughout our experience. He did a wonderful job explaining each of the wineries we visited, and he went above and beyond to share the history and stories behind the Spanish wines we tasted. His passion for the region, the wineries, and the wines really came through and made the experience so much more meaningful and enjoyable. Ismael also made us feel welcome and comfortable from the very beginning. His attention to detail, willingness to answer every question, and genuine enthusiasm made what was already a great day into an exceptional experience. We truly appreciated everything he did and would highly recommend Ismael to anyone looking for a memorable and informative wine experience in Spain.Ribero del Dueeo
