This is an outstanding tour of the Reina Sofia museum. This is not a superficial survey of the museum’s collection, but a lesson in the importance and development of modern art, led by Spanish artists. The Reina Sofia has an important collection, but it needs some curation for maximum accessibility. I would recommend the is to those with an interest in learning about art, and not merely checking off a box. Highly recommended.

Well done overview of the museum. Our guide was very educated in the art and history and brought much color to the experience.
Alex did a wonderful job of explaining the progression of modern art through Spanish history. Very impressive
Wonderful tour with Maria!!! She was able to give us great info about the artists and the context for the modern art. The paintings were creative and confusing, so we were very happy with her detailed explanations. We would even have enjoyed more time with her as a guide. She made the museum ring true to modern art rookies!
Our guide Alex was excellent. Very knowledgeable and willing to answer to our questions. In addition he was very kind and passionate.
We absolutely loved this tour. We did the Prado the day before in a larger group, which gave us some good context going in. It ended up being just us and the guide. She was so nice and knowledgeable and had an iPad to reference many other works not in the museum. I love to have the context/full picture so this was amazing. We highly recommend!
Natalia was the perfect guide for our visit to the museum. She expertly explained the historical context of the various art periods on display, culminating in the Guernica. Great experience and worth the 90 minutes! Thank you.
Stephanie was a most extraordinary, knowledgeable and engaging guide! She was thoroughly prepared and shared history as well as some Spanish artists that were unknown to me and my sister. Fantastic experience!
The guide Alex was fantastic, he made the tour so informative and interesting. The museum is very nice and would recommend the tour and guide 100%
The small group tour is the only way to go. Our guide was very knowledgeable and showed me things in the paintings that I never would have seen.
Extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide. I learned much! She stoked our curiosity enough for us to visit other exhibitions in the museum.
Our guide had such a rich knowledge of art, cultural and political history. She was brilliant! Such an interesting visit.
Belen was an incredible guide! So warm, knowledgeable and thoughtful. She helped us make the most of our visit!
Alex was very knowledgeable and organized and made the visit very pleasant and tailored it to my interests.
Our guide was enthusiastic, very knowledgeable, and paced our tour perfectly! We give her 5 out of 5!
Very informative - I would not have appreciated it without their guidance. It was solid and made me appreciate the art in ways I never would have. We only went to certain sections, but glad did it.
knowledgable guide gave us the essentials for visiting this museum and the artwork inside. invaluable context for the works on display.
Guide was knowledgeable, professional and friendly to participants.
Alex was a great tour guide and showed us the best pieces by Dalí, Picasso, Gris, and others. He gave us great historical context, made jokes, and helped us navigate the museum. Definitely recommend!
The Reina Sofia has some of the best Contemporary Spanish art in the world many it's grand masters (Picasso, Dali, Miró, etc.). Worth every second.
Belen was so smart, thoughtful and thorough . This is now my favorite museum. And the gift shop was fun.
Maria of The Guide was very thorough and knowledgeable. She explained paintings and arts indepth and clearly.
Alex was absolutely wonderful- we had a great time on the tour. We learned so much and saw such amazing works, and had a great time discussing everything. We’d absolutely recommend this. Thank you, Alex!
Our tour guide Stefania did an incredible job guiding us through the museum. I now have a new found appreciation for modern art especially cubism.
Alex is very knowledgeable. The museum is lovely and cool in an old hospital. There is alot of information to absorb but a lovely museum that speaks to Spanish late 19th to 20th century history and art.
Our tour guide, Stephanie, was amazing. Incredible time because of her
I was lucky to learn from Stephi two days in a row after a tour of the Prado the afternoon before. She was extremely knowledgeable and friendly - it heightened my experience 10x; cannot recommend enough!
Our visit of Reina Sofía was amazing. Our tour guide, Paula, was outstanding! She was pasionate, knowledgeable, and fun! We learned so much about modern art. It was so magical to visit this amazing museum! Highly recommended!!
Turned out to be almost a private tour with only one other participant. Natalia was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Loved seeing Guernica.
Very knowledgeable guide and stuck to The 6 person maximum. I enjoyed this curated tour, and our guide made the museum feel less overwhelming.
Belen was very knowledgeable and gave us a great lesson in art history. It was a very comprehensive guide that prepared us to then explore the rest of the Reina Sofia
Our guide Paula was excellent. Was so good at explaining the paintings and the history behind it. Although there were some museum rooms that were closed (which where not all her fault) she handled the situation very well and continued on with on with the tour.
We had a great tour of the Reina Sofia Museum. Maria gave us an interesting perspective of the art in the museum and how it related to Spanish history. She was knowledgeable and engaging in her presentation. We had good communication prior to the tour and it was easy to find our meeting point. Overall, a great experience.
We had a lovely time at the Reina Sofia Museum with Belen on Monday, May 11. She gave us a wonderful tour of the museum with great commentary.
Highly knowledgeable guide who gave a memorable account of the great artists and their work, especially Dali and Picasso. His passion and commitment to sharing his love for art was truly inspiring
Stefania was amazing! So knowledgeable. She has a real passion for art and we learned so much about the history of the artwork. I highly recommend this tour.
Very interesting guiding with deep knowlegde and inspiration!
Alex was a superb guide, knowlegeable and insightful. Highly recommend.
Stephi was a fantastic guide. She gave great information about the art but also placed it in context and provided interesting historical information. We saw the highlights, but I would love to return for a more thorough visit. I really enjoyed the tour and would highly recommend Stephi.
Our guide was excellent, very patient and caring. He explained things clearly and had lots of knowledge! Excellent job!
Amongst all the tours we took in Madrid, this was comparatively underwhelming. While the guide was easy to understand and clear, I found that she covered very few pieces of artwork in her tour (we were hoping for a more comprehensive overview of Reina Sofia, especially given the fee paid for this tour) and was quite repetitive with respect to information. All of us found it hard to remain engaged in her tour.
The Reina Sofía 90 minute tour with Stefi was excellent. Even though I regularly visit art museums, I learned quite a lot from her. It’s much better than renting the audio guide. I got lucky and was the only one who booked that day so it was like a private tour. Stefi is knowledgeable, personable and I highly recommend her tour. I stayed afterwards to tour all the many galleries. Great museum!
stefania is really a great guide- perfect knowledge, perfect presentation, always interesting. organisation also very good
Alex was super informative on the history of cubism and modern art, thoroughly enjoyed this small group tour, and highly recommend to all.
Our guide was very knowledgeable about the artists and opened my eyes to interpretations I easily missed. I do think we spent too much time at each painting and wished I saw more. Because of my age, it was hard to stand throughout the tour. Oftentimes, I kept looking for chairs. All in all, I was very happy that I went on this tour.
Our guide Stephi was amazing and super smart. Loved her. It was bonus that it was only me and my husband. We went mainly for Guernica but the museum was pretty. It’s so cool that it used to be a hospital
Incredible experience! Belén really knew her stuff and offered incredible historical insight into what we were seeing. Her English was perfect and easy to understand.
This was my first time visiting the museum, and here are my thoughts on this tour. Positive: group was small (6 people), process was seamless, what a good way to see just a few key pieces in the museum as well as learn the history of the museum Negatives: was very focused on 5-6 pieces, almost 20 mins per piece whereas it would have been nicer to do a brief discussion around more pieces So it's nice if you're very very interested in art, but if you're more of a generalist this tour may not be for you.
The museum was amazing and our tour guide was very knowledgeable and enjoyable. Glad we had the earphones as there were many others at the museum that day. Recommend this tour!!
We had a wonderful guided tour of the Reina Sofia Museum with Alex who was so knowledgeable and passionate about this amazing collection including Picasso's ultra famous Guernica. It was the perfect introduction and explanation of spanish modern art with critical pieces used to build the story of how this art developed and because so important. We could not recommend this tour or Alex any hight. A truly 5 Star Experience!
