Reina Sofia Museum Guided Tour In Madrid

Excellent tour. Booked a Spanish only guide by accIdent but still learned much.

Very good tour. My only criticism is that I would prefer to spend a little less time on each painting and see a few more paintings.

We did the tour with Gabriela/Gaby and it was a really nice experience! She speaks clear, easy-to-understand English, and I could really feel her enthusiasm for art. Highly recommended!

The guide was friendly, knowledgeable and easy to understand. The audio equipment functioned as it should. The meeting place was easy to find. The problem was the pacing. Too slow and overly detailed on a just a handful of paintings. I would recommend covering more ground and artists with less minutia. There is so much to see at this museum and I realize you can’t cover it all, but it could have been much better with a bit more oomph.

We thought we had purchased a two hour guided tour and not a one hour 15 mins tour. It felt rushed especially for such a large museum. It may be a good idea for the guide to recommend other areas of the museum to see.

Great experience for good overview. Priced right & good start time options. Nice group size. Timing was not accurate though. Tour went 45 minutes over the estimated time.

Turned up in plenty of time, despite them giving wrong coordinates, then found out our guide was ill and no apparent back up! So they cancelled on the steps of the gallery…..on the plus side, I went in to tour it myself with audio guide but left quickly after seeing Guernica…..and went to Thyssen which as FANTASTIC. Still no refund received for cancelled tour 🤬

This tour is the best way to see the highlights of the Reina Sofía Museum. Our guide, JJ, was incredible. He was friendly, knowledgeable, passionate & a great storyteller who helped us understand and appreciate the works on a deeper level. Everything was organized well, and the earpieces/microphone worked great. Highly recommend this tour!

The tour guide from Amigo tours was very knowledgeable about the history and the art. The museum was well structured although more seating opportunities would be nice

We were told to arrive 15 minutes early but the guide did not show up until departure time and then held us up in the sun for 10 minutes to add 2 more people who could not find their guide! . Then she told us we needed to check our bags but we could not since she didn’t give us the tickets yet so we had to get back in line when we got the tickets. And the. We found out you needed an euro and an half for the locker. Never told us lAnd then she said we CAN take photos despite what the review said. You just can’t use flash.

Gabriella was an amazing guide who gave you excellent tips and was able to walk through the main masterpiece master fully connecting to smaller versions or the pre-work to the masterpiece piece the best one and a half hour invested

Very good experience with this tour - informative and intimate. Costas is a very good storyteller. Gives you also the impression that he spends time knowing and reviewing the art pieces he is showing the tourists. He was generous with his time; in fact, had it not for another appointment he would have extended the tour to give a more comprehensive explanation on the pieces. Be prepared to do some walking and not a lot of places to sit either; so if you have back concerns or mobility issues something to think about. I think you can inform them ahead of time on this. You can stay further if you want to linger and check the other floors but the time you have on tour is long enough you will want to rest for a while after that.

Gabi is fully into history and knows a lot about art and the process of the pictures. The tour was a little bit short because there is a lot to see and although her English was good, she was speaking really fast. I don't know how a self guided tour with audio guide would be like, but you can definitely do it in your own rhythm.

JJ was a great guide. It was a great crash course in the history of Spanish modern art. We didn’t miss any gems of the Reina Sofía.

My mom and I were visiting Madrid for the first time and are huge fans of art and art history. We were so excited to have Gabi be our guide! She did fantastic explaining the best parts of Reina Sofia and it was a blast!

It didn’t work out. We showed up and there was an admin error. We eventually got a refund after many emails. Pity as I am sure the tour was good. Viator is usually great to book with but this was with another tour group, and the issue was with them.
