Private Walking Tour: Madrid Old Town & Stunning City Views

This was one of the best tours we’ve ever been on! Tatiana was an amazing tour guide! She was pleasant, well spoken, extremely knowledgeable about Spain and Madrid, and fun to be with! We would highly recommend her as a tour guide for anybody booking in Madrid!

Tour date: (Wednesday) 4 December 2024 at 10:45 with Titiana from Puerta del Sol. She was our guide for 3 hours. She was clear, interesting and fun. Her knowledge of the area was excellent on customs, culture, history, politics and geography. Highly recommended.

We had an amazing informative and entertaining tour of old Madrid with Tatiana. She was a delightful guide who led us through the history of Madrid via its architecture. She was energetic and provided a wonderful 2 1/2 tour. We would go again in a heartbeat.

Sorry I had forgotten our guide's name, but he was a wealth of knowledge about Madrid and both it historical and cultural developments. No question was left unanswered. This was a private tour and he tailored the tour to suit our interest and the pace of the tour. The tour placed all important geographical and historical aspects into perspective which assisted in our future exploration of the city. The distance was not taxing and could take breaks when needed

What a absolute pleasure it was to spend the day with Tatiana in Madrid. She exudes enthusiasm, knowledge and a true love of Madrid and Spain. We learned so much about Madrid and its history. We were delighted to have some very special experiences during our tour - things that none of the guide books talk about and it was these special moments that really made for an especially exciting and memorable time. My wife and I decided to take this tour on the basis that if Ogotours were leaving the payment to the discretion of the tourist then they must be good. Wow were we right, Tatiana our guide was quite exceptional from her warm welcome to our engaging chat and drink at the finish . This near 3 hour tour of Madrid was wonderfully informative and gave us an understanding of the city and the sights that we would never have had otherwise. Tatiana's knowledge and enthusiastic delivery made for a memorable afternoon. The previous day we had taken a tuk tuk tour which while enjoyable didn't hold a candle to our tour with Ogo, My advice if you are a tourist in Madrid don't leave without taking the Ogo walking tour. I know fewer people are traveling right now so I wanted to make sure I wrote some reviews to so people have up to date information. I did a four hour walking tour with Gonzalo. The first part of the tour I needed to get a Covid test on a Sunday so I could fly home the next day. Thank goodness Gonzalo found an open location and took the train and had it completed within 30 minutes, I would have never found it on my own using public transport and my Spanish is not very good so he was super helpful to make sure I got the correct test. After that we went and toured the City, the Palace and the Cathedral. For me the private tours are great if they help avoid waiting in line, learn some history and have fun and this tour did it all. Our guide,Tatiana, was charming, well prepared and very knowledgeable. We saw and learned things that were not in any of our guidebooks. We got into places that one could never get into on ones own...for example, the kitchen of the oldest, continuously running restaurant in Europe. And that is not the only example. I could not recommend this more highly.

We were a family of ten adults and Tatiana was our amazing guide. She was full of enthusiasm and excellent knowledge of the history and culture of Madrid she was also great fun and managed to keep our noisy chaotic family all together. Tatiana is so enthusiastic about Madrid which helped me to see it through her eyes. She provided sooooo much historical information (but not in an academic way) and remembered the tour participants based on their country of origin and related the stories into those countries where possible. She was funny and did I mention enthusiastic? If you do any walking tour in Madrid, make it this one, even if you haven't planned to do a walking tour consider this.

I booked a walking tour with OgoTours on a whim, and I was not expecting much since it was (nearly) free. Needless to say, I was absolutely blown away by Tatiana’s enthusiasm, knowledge and wit during the tour. She got me excited to see more of the city, and left me with a depth of knowledge that I doubt I could have gotten elsewhere. We (family of 2 adults and a 12 years old boy) visited Madrid in April 2019 during our Spain trip. We booked a private tour with OgoTours based on TripAdvisor reviews. Our tour guide was Tatiana and she was amazing!!! She is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about Madrid and history. She is very nice, friendly, enthusiastic, and have unique presentation skills and a great sense of humor. she showed us off tourist path to the beatiful baroque church and took to underground of Botin restaurant. Tatiana made this experience way better than expected. As soon as we met, she asked what I was interested in (history) and proceeded to structure her comments and places we visited on same. She‘s totally a walking encyclopedia!!! All questions asked and answered in detail. Even many about the military history of the Kingdom. I was very impressed. Speaking of which, coincidentally we were in Plaza Mayor when the Royal Guards on horseback with the Royal coaches came through on the way to the Palace to bring the new ambassadors to the King for introductions. PERFECT timing for a couple of videos! Last, but by no means least, Tatiana is truly a gem with an infectious smile and positive personality that really shines through. Tatiana is an awesome guide. She bonded very well with my wife, whom she shared many likes with, such as shops, cute dogs and good food. She made us feel very at home during the tour. She even helped us to make a reservation at Madrid's oldest restaurant despite having a busy schedule herself.

My family of three had a recent short visit to Madrid and at the beginning we took 3 hours free walking tour with Tatiana. Some stops on the way were particularly exciting. Tatiana was just amazing: very entertaining, engaging and knowledgeable! We could feel her enthusiasm and love for Madrid! She is very nice and sincere person and very professional. Tatiana gave us recommendations about places to eat and even send some later by email. We would definitely recommend that small family business to anybody visiting Madrid. You pay at the end, but book online ahead of time.

The best historical tour of my recent trip to Madrid. We got a late start because of another tour and was able to join the group about 20 minutes in - thanks to good communication with the Ogo team. Tatiana was able to answer all of my questions along the way. Highly recommended!

We enjoyed this tour of Old Town with Tatiana! She was so nice and knowledgeable about everything. In addition to showing us the important sites, she also told us interesting things about Madrid -- like where to get the best churros and chocolate (she was right!), and where the most popular espadrille store is. She even showed us the convent where the nuns do not interact with the public other than to sell their cookies (we went back and the cookies were so good!). It was a great introduction into Madrid! We highly recommend this tour! The tour is a "free" tour, but we booked ahead online. The tour started in Puerta del Sol and ended at the Royal Palace. The tour took a little over 3 hours. At the end, you pay what you think the tour was worth. We also booked a Flamenco show with Ogo Tours (with Taberna Casa Patas). And, it was great! It was really easy and there were no issues with our reservation - we showed the venue our receipt and they had our seats reserved and waiting for us (with our last names). Our tickets were for the show and one drink. I got red wine, my husband got a beer, and our children got soda. The flamenco show was supposed to be an hour, but the one we went to ran over two hours (maybe because it was the only show that night??). Please note that the show has an intermission. The talent was really good. And, the crowd appeared to be a mix of tourists and some locals.

I had already done this experience about 5 years ago with another company, and this time with a family member who had not visited for more than 20 years we decided to choose to do this activity to take advantage of the afternoon, the truth is that it was a right decision. We had Javier as our guide and we only have words of gratitude for his didactic work and the enthusiasm he shows in explaining everything in detail, even with images that help you better understand the history of the city. If you don't do this type of excursion, you will probably miss out on seeing many interesting things about the city and knowing what was happening in some of its enclaves. Don't hesitate to contact them.
