Absolutely brilliant tour and fantastic guide! Marik was so enthusiastic about the history of Madrid and that showed in the way he welcomed us, encouraged the group and made us laugh. The tour was perfectly planned with some wonderful stories and covered a good distance around the City. Marik also followed up with messages with suggestions of other tours and places to visit. As the tour was merely pennies, we felt that a nice tip for Marik would be welcome. We enjoyed many excursions during our stay and this one was, in my opinion, the best! Highly recommended! 5 ⭐

Fantastic tour! Mario was superb! He knew so much about the city and the country’s history and told this with great passion and enthusiasm. The tour was perfectly planned and covered quite a distance. We really enjoyed the effort he put in to including everybody in the tour and answered all questions well. We would definitely recommend Marik and the tour and would suggest tipping the guide if you can as the tour is so cheap.

The Discover Madrid: Medieval to Modern tour we took with Trip Tours Madrid was fantastic! This great free walking tour combined a pleasant walk through all the major sites with many fascinating and fun facts and anecdotes. Marik is one of the best tour guides we’ve ever had, informative, friendly and funny. He also provides great suggestions for restaurants, places to go and where to see flamenco in a detailed message to everyone who took the tour. He also makes himself available to everyone in deciding what to do, making reservations and anything else we needed. This tour was the best possible way to begin our visit to Madrid!

Stuart was awesome tacular guide, as he delved into histories of the inquisitions, regal intrigue, and even Ponzi schemes. He relished telling the stories with an aside of humor, and as someone who is reasonably well read about medieval history, I was pleasantly surprised to learn so many little tidbits I had overlooked in my own readings. Highly recommend.

This tour was just what we needed, just arrived, help us get our bearings etc for rest of the trip. Stuart was informative, good sense of humour and as waz 42 degrees earlier, managed to keep us in the shade and narrow lanes for the most part.

Our guide Marik was passionate about the subject matter of this tour which he developed himself. We had already been in the city since early morning but he brought us on to new paths. We did 26,000 steps that day!

We just arrived in Madrid and starting off with this tour was the best way to begin our travels though the city. Was so fun ! Funny historical stories from a local really gave us context and immediately tied us to the city! Great walk with breathtaking views while stopping along the way learning about the origins! Also got authentic recommendations from a local about all things Madrid ! We just had one of the best dinners after the tour from our guide’s suggestion! Our tour guide, was Paula on the Madrid Essentials walking tour and we were so impressed by her knowledge, enthusiasm and the overall experience. We had done the Tuk Tuk tour the prior day and while different we much preferred this tour! Marik's tour was superb, taking around the city and giving us rich historical insights into everything we came into contact with on our scenic tour of Madrid. The tour focused on medieval aspects but everything was linked brilliantly to what we see before us today. This was a fantastic tour! Marik is very knowledgeable and experienced and it seems he developed much of the tour himself. It certainly isn’t a basic stroll-from-museum-to-museum tour, you visit unique spots and learn the background behind things that occurred in the city’s history. Strongly recommended.

This is a great tour to do early in your visit to Madrid. Malik has delightful stories about historic events which really bring them alive. It is a lovely mixture of grand historical sweep and a chance to visit a few quieter parts of Madrid with parrots and almond trees. A great experience with good tips for things you can do later by yourself
