I enjoyed this tour with Christina. I signed up for this tour after taking the morning tour with her earlier in the week. This tour was as enjoyable as the morning tour. I enjoyed the variety of tapas and drinks (wine, vermouth and beer) on this tour. Christina is a good guide. She makes the tour fun and shares a lot of interesting information about Madrid, the Malasaña neighborhood and of course, the food and drinks.

Amazing start of our Madrid trip. Oliver was outstanding. The history and local flare was on point. The personal tour was well worth the money. The local market, the classic tapas, the Vermouth, and local wine are picture worthy. This was a light walking tour with a lot of history and a perfect amount of food and drinks.
The experience exceeded our expectations as we learned not only about the local food & drinks, but also about Madrid and Spanish culture and even some history. Our local guide Benny is very passionate and he brought us to 4 different tapas spots where we had a tapas pairing with a local beverage at each place. We had plenty of food and drink throughout the evening so this was our dinner and a reasonable price. Highly recommend this tour!
If I could give this tour more than five stars, I absolutely would. After fifteen days in Spain, this was absolutely our favorite part of the trip. Our guide, Jaimie, didn’t make us feel like tourists. We felt like we were walking through Malasaña with an old friend. He was incredibly well prepared, knowledgeable of all the food, drinks, the neighborhood, and Madrid generally. The tour was able to accommodate dietary concerns due to celiac disease, and all of the stops on the tour were very careful while serving us delicious food and drinks. Highly recommend the tour, and definitely suggest you ask for Jaimie.
The tapas and wine tour was amazing! Theo was incredible! He was informative, knowledgeable, and took time to learn everyone’s name and food allergies. Each stop we went was a little different than the last. Our group was extremely welcoming, and by the end of it our group didn’t want to leave! I wish this was longer! 10/10 would recommend!
Our guide, Alejandro, was fantastic. He was warm, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable, and he connected effortlessly with every member of our family, including our 9-year-old and two teenagers. We completely fell in love with the neighborhoods he guided us through, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food. We already loved Spain and Madrid, but this experience made us appreciate them even more.
This is an excellent food and wine tour of a residential neighborhood in Madrid that we never would have seen without this tour. We really enjoyed everything about it!
So much fun: not only delicious tapas and wine but also abundant and informative commentary on Madrid/Spanish culture, history and even architecture. We also traversed wonderful neighborhoods we were unaware of. Lastly, Simon, our guide, was absolutely perfect - knowledgeable, funny and considerate - he really was the reason the tour was so enjoyable.
Amazing food & drinks. Lovely walk. Owner Amy was great—kind, informative, flexible. She gave tons of ideas to our son, about to start a study abroad semester. Great mix of food, culture, drink, history, and local people. A really fun night!
What a fun, interesting and yummy way to spend an evening. Our guide was very nice, informative and spoke great English. We were a family of four with two kids in their early 20s, with one being a little picky. We all had a great time and enjoyed the other couple on our tour. It sounds like they switch up the restaurants but I cannot imagine it being bad. We were taken to some charming places in an area that seemed very untouristy. We even learned some history along the way that came in handy the next morning at the Prado. We did not leave overly stuffed but had enough to eat for sure. Be aware there could be some minor food sharing with the group but it did not bother us. Our guide even gave us some good restaurant recommendations for later in the trip!
Tapas tour in the heart of malasaña was just what we needed to kickstart our time in Madrid. Our guide Angie was incredibly warm and friendly, knew all about the area and is clearly passionate about helping visitors experience Madrid’s culture. Each stop had a typical Spanish drink and tapa that complimented each other. Loved the venues - some over 100 years old - and the short walks through historical squares in between. Took us to places we wouldn’t have known about on our own, and far from the typical tourist spots. Most importantly for our family, they were happy to accommodate gluten free (celiac) food for one person without compromising the tour for the other person, and understood the importance of avoiding contamination. Would do more tours with her in future visits!
We do a lot of food tours. Love to sample and get some great information about food and culture. This one is now at the top of our list. Food/beverage were great and the guide was incredible. Must do in Madrid.
Just an amazing experience! Our guide, Ines, was tremendous. We truly enjoyed her as a guide and as a person. I would recommend this tour to anyone!
What an absolutely fantastic tour. Just such a great time. The food stops were amazing and the guide Simon was delightful. Super knowledgeable and very personable. I loved too that after the tour was over, they sent us a link to a list of the places where we'd been and what we'd eaten at each stop. Such a great thing. I will definitely be recommending this to everyone I know who is traveling to Madrid.
Very fun time. Lots of great food and wine. The guide was very friendly and informative. Walk about 1 1/2 miles through fun neighborhoods
What a fun night with Andrea! We had the best time learning about and exploring Malasaña. The food and drink were all complimented with history and useful information about the area. We love to do a food tour when we visit Madrid and this was one of the best!
We had the best experience with our tour guide Lauren! All of the places we went were fabulous and the neighborhood we toured was filled with interesting history and culture. The food and drinks were delicious and the hosts at each restaurant were so gracious. We had a super fun group and all ended up going for a drink afterward! It was our first night in Madrid and helped us get a lay of the land. 100% recommend this tour to anyone that likes to eat and drink and is interested in learning about the culture of Madrid and Spain!
We had an INCREDIBLE evening with Andrea!!! The walk and history were great and the food/drink spots were AMAZING!! HIGHLY recommend taking this evening tour with Andrea as a wonderful guide to fantastic Madrid!! Cheers!
This was a great tour with local insights great food and a good sample of the local neighborhood including a variety of drinks from beer local vermouth wine ( and great tasting tips). The local feel and being immersed in it for a few hours was great fun. Thoroughly recommend this tour.
I had a fabulous tour with Ines on Saturday. We had an intimate group of 3 guests (who were also great and we've stayed in touch) and I felt this small group worked really well. Ines was extremely knowledgeable, relaxed and friendly - the perfect guide. I had the best croqueta I've ever had (along with all the other delicious food) What a lovely way to discover the delicious food and drink on offer in Madrid. I'd do this all over again next week if I could :) Highly recommended!
My husband and I recently attended a wine and tapas tour with Walk and Eat Spain and it ended up being one of the highlights of our two week trip to Spain! Our guide Inés was so friendly and knowledgeable, and we really enjoyed getting to know her and the other attendees as we walked through interesting neighborhoods and ate delicious foods. The tour lasted four hours but it went by so fast since we were having so much fun! It was really neat to visit restaurants that we would otherwise never have thought to try during our short two night stay in Madrid. If you're visiting Madrid and want a crash course in delicious tapas and/or a fun evening with fellow travelers, I highly recommend this tour!
Simon was knowledgeable, fun, witty, and quite entertaining. I have taken food tours in Rome, Paris, Stockhome, and Athens. This was one of the best food tours I have had the privilege to attend.
An absolute must do when visiting Madrid. This was my 2nd tour with Walk and Eat. My first was a private tour few years ago and this was a group tour. Both were exceptional and extremely personal. Margit, one of the owners, was our first guide and Ines took us around this time. Both guides gave us so much insight into not just the food and wine but the context of what and where we were eating in terms of Spanish history. Being in Malasaña just hours after viewing the Goya paintings, the 2nd of May and the 3rd of May in the Prado and standing in the square where those iconic events took place was so special. We left both tours with full bellies and a greater appreciation for the underrated city of Madrid. Cannot recommend this tour enough.
Felt like we found the coolest spots and experiences. So authentic and charming. Inez was amazing - relaxed, knowledgeable and easy to relate to.
A very nice tour that provided interesting historical context in addition to a delicious assortment of tapas and beverages (beer, wine and vermouth) and charming venues. Our guide Inez was excellent. The groups are small (mine was only 5 people), which enhances the experience. Recommended!
Amy's tour was one of the best food tours I've been on in a decade of international travel. Though originally American, she's lived in Spain for a decade and was fluent and clearly well-liked by all the owners and servers at our stops. Our group was a perfect small group of 8 with two guides-in-training. We had Iberico and Serrano jamón with local small bottles of Mahou at a local shop. Then multiple small plates at an adorable tapas spot where I particularly loved vermut and Iberian tomatoes. Next, the red wine part of the tour! Amy told us about Spain's wine regions and introduced us all to my new obsession: sobrasada. As well, I'm allergic to milk and another guest had a gluten intolerance and we both got plenty to eat. Our final stop was a sit-down dinner in a very 70s restaurant with fun vibes and music. We had delicious white wine, razor clams, sizzling garlic & olive oil shrimp and steak. Well, I had fried fish because of my beef allergy (see, very accommodating tour!). The next day we got a list of our stops and the dishes we tried. Amy also gave personalized recs during dinner, a truly great person!
We learned so much from Alejandro about the history of Madrid, the tapas culture and local wines. He took us to tapas bars we would never have tried on our own. He was personable and knowledgeable and we had a wonderful evening with him.
Our guide, Oliver, was super patient and kind with me and my 10 year old daughter. He taught us a lot and discussed with us the different varieties of cheese, wines, and specialty tapas from around Spain. He even brought a map and helped us learn about the regions in Spain, and how the different climates affected the food. He personalized our dietary requests and really made a touching effort to get to know us. He also helped advise us regarding other restaurant and tour options in Madrid for the remainder of our trip. He really went above and beyond for us, so we cannot recommend him enough. He was a wealth of knowledge and pretty much became a friend after several hours of chatting and eating together. The food selections were all great and literally everything we were offered was delicious! We also did the breakfast/ lunch tour with this company, and it was also a wonderful tour. I know there are other food tour companies, but you can’t go wrong with either of these food tours through Walk and Eat. We would definitely do this same tour again for fun if we get to come back to Madrid in the future.
I recently went on a walking food tour with Walk and Eat Spain, and it was absolutely incredible! From start to finish, the experience was top-notch. Our guide, Margit, was not only knowledgeable but also passionate about the local food scene and history, which made the entire tour feel like an immersive cultural experience. We visited several unique and delicious spots, each offering a variety of authentic, mouth-watering dishes. I especially loved the cheese plate - a variety of cheeses from all over Spain! The balance of flavors and the local ingredients were a real treat. What really made the experience stand out was learning about the history behind each dish and the stories that tied them to the neighborhood. Whether you're a seasoned foodie or someone just looking to explore Madrid, I can’t recommend this walking food tour enough! It was a fun, educational, and absolutely delicious way to experience the culture of the area. Don't miss out!
This food tour is a MUST for everyone who wants to understand Spain & Spanish lifestyle. Margit is a great guide & host, full of anecdotes & knowledge about Spanish culture, cuisine & history. It was delicious & entertaining, with great energy and hidden gems we never would have discovered ourselves.
I was the guest of a friend who booked the Walk and Eat Tapas tour in Malasaña. Even though I have lived in Madrid for more than 15 years, it was an absolutely amazing experience and something I wish I had done years ago. Not only did we discover new restaurants that I never knew about, I also learned a whole host of new historical facts of Spain, Madrid, and specifically the barrio Malasaña. Margit, our guide, was extremely engaging and super knowledgeable, and created the perfect pace for the tour. 100% recommended for anyone who is looking for a fun evening of food and drinks, no matter if you're a visitor to or resident of Madrid!
We had a lovely evening with Alejandro for the tapas and wine tour. He was extremely personable and made for a great companion teaching us about the history, culture and food of the area. Additionally, the Walk and Eat team was great at responding to my questions over email before we booked and helping provide restaurant recommendations.
Such a great food tour! Theo was engaging and knowledgeable and we learned a lot about Spanish food culture. We went to local places that we definitely would not have been to on our own. Highly recommended.
This tour was amazing. Our family (kids 15/13/9) and my husband and I all loved it. Our guide Isabelle was engaging and animated kept the kids interest. Had a scavenger hunt checklist that our youngest loved. We tried so many places and learned so much about Spanish culture and eating habits. We went to places we wouldn’t have tried on our own and a neighborhood we wouldn’t have explored.
This was a fantastic tour. We went for a day time, family friendly, tapas tour with the wonderful Angie. My 12 and 9 year olds are fairly fussy (and easily bored), and Angie kept them entertained throughout. The food and drink were delicious, and overall I would highly recommend this to tour to other families.
We had a delightful evening with Andrea! We visited a thoughtfully curated variety of establishments, the owners of which Andrea clearly knew well. Andrea shared an interesting and deep knowledge of Spanish food and wine. She was a wonderful, engaging dinner companion. We would repeat this tour in a heart beat!
Alejandro was so knowledgeable and gave us an interesting tour of the Malasana neighborhood and such a warm welcome to Madrid!! He described the fascinating history of the neighborhood and of Spain. We had a great time, delicious food, wine & vermouth.
Wonderful tour with a great guide (Simon). We visited 3 restaurants in a neighborhood that we otherwise wouldn’t have visited while on a 2 day trip through Madrid. Very kid friendly (if willing to walk a bit) and can accommodate a gluten allergy.
Brought history and home town traditions to life! Food and drink were wonderful. The mix of meat, cheese and drinks tasted was just enough
Our trip with Theo was outstanding! We were grandparents, adult kids and a college student studying in Madrid. Theo filled us with interesting facts both fun and educational. Our experiences included great food and a variety of drinks. We highly recommend both the tour and our leader Theo- excellent!
What a super fun experience!! Margit was fantastic, she shared not just food and beverage/wine info with us but also great historical stories and info about Madrid. The tour was very well planned and well timed, every place we went we were expected and served in a timely manner, which is a fete in itself. The group was small, just three couples, so it felt very intimate and friendly. We were unable to do the market tour the following day due to the national holiday and the market was closed but we hope to do it another time. I would highly recommend a Walk and Eat Spain tour to anyone looking for an introduction to Madrid or just a fun and tasty way to spend an evening here.
We loved this tour! Our guide, Andrea, was fantastic. We had terrific food and I would highly recommend this tour! It gave us a great feel for Madrid.
Wonderful! Our guide, Theo, was more like an expert host than a guide. Over the course of the evening we went to four neighborhood tapas places. At each place the owner had a reserved table and different tapas and wine ready for us. Theo told us about the neighborhood, the food, and the food culture in Spain. My spouse has many dietary restrictions and they were graciously accommodated. Could not recommend more highly!
Amazing tour - my husband and I were the only guests on the tour and the company did not cancel. It was a great experience, small, family run stops with warm receptions. We’ve been to many food tours across Europe and this ranks towards the top!
My friend and I went on the De Tapas en Malasaña tour with Angie last night and it was incredible! We loved it so much. Angie was the perfect tour guide - so friendly and personable, but also knowledgeable and happy to explain anything. It's clear that she has a friendly relationship with the people in each bar or restaurant we went to. We were able to try so many new things and everything was so well organized. Each restaurant was expecting us when we arrived and had a table prepared. We enjoyed meeting the other participants on the tour as well (there were only four of us and Angie). I would definitely recommend this tour and do it again next time I'm in Madrid!
Excellent! Excellent food and excellent tour guide!
