Madrid: Paella Cooking Class With Bottomless Wine Pairing

A wonderful afternoon with delighful hosts snd instructors followed by a delicious lunch and very generoys servings of Cava and great wine

What a great experience ! When we walked in, Benny and Alex greeted us with Cava and gave us a tour of the beautiful set up where we cooked paella like real chefs. Everything was organized and detailed with great explanation of the food and excellent music. We finished and went downstairs to the gorgeous basement to enjoy our labor of love and have dessert and more wine. This was a wonderful way to spend our last night in Madrid. I highly recommend doing one of these classes while in Madrid !

This experience was insane! I have not been that interested in the cooking class experience on my travels thus far, but I am SO glad we did this! The paella class was a highlight of our Spain vacation. We LOVED our chef/teacher! She was perfect. She made it fun while teaching us lots of cooking techniques. I enjoyed the fact that all of the preparation was done for us, so we just had to follow step by step instructions to bring the recipe to life. We had the best group of tourists with us, which made it even more fun! The bottomless wine pairing, was truly bottomless. Our glasses were never empty! The wine service never stopped! Very generous I loved that we ended in a family style experience and was able to try all of the different paellas. I looked forward to receiving the digital recipe after the class and can't wait to try to make it at home here in the states.

This was a truly wonderful experience! We enjoyed preparing a fantastic variety of paellas, each with its own unique flavour, and every dish was absolutely delicious. Benny was an outstanding chef who made the entire experience engaging, enjoyable, and memorable. The market tour was a highlight, and it was a real treat to sample so many authentic Spanish delicacies along the way. Highly recommended!

This activity was “perfect”! We were greeted with a warm reception and Spanish Cava. All our stations were laid out and ingredients prepared for the different paellas we were to make. Ben and his team explained every step and answered all questions. As well, they made sure our wine glasses were full and great music kept us entertained. At the end of the cook, we visited other paella stations and smelled their creations. Then we retired to a dining area in the basement to enjoy our work (and appetizers & dessert). Wouldn’t change a thing!

Wow! What a fantastic time! We made delicious paella, drank great Spanish wines, met fun people, and wished the afternoon could continue forever. Benji is a great chef / instructor and wonderful host, along with his crew of Alex and Nico. The Cooking Clubhouse is a comfortable spot and the crew is extremely well organized and very fun!! We’d rate it as a 10, if we could.

Great for the Foodie in your group or any other who enjoys playing in the kitchen. This is "hands on"- you listen to instructions and prepare. We made 4 different paellas giving our group a great sampling of this traditional dish. Our chefs- Pau and Ricardo were FABULOUS! Further, both the kitchen and dining space is very, very beautiful- you will feel inspired.

What a great afternoon learning how to make paella! Lots of fun meeting new people from all over the world. The staff, Benji, Nico & Alex, was great - very entertaining and knowledgeable. The dining area downstairs is beautiful and very comfortable. We had 20 people in our group. I highly recommend this experience.

The Cooking Clubhouse is a top tier place to take cooking classes. The chefs provide instruction and you do ALL the work. Making paella was something I always wanted to learn and the “bottomless” wine pourings was a nice touch.

Our instructor Claudia was amazing. She was knowledgeable about food, funny, helpful, and a great instructor. it was a lot of fun, making the paella and interacting with all of the people in the class. There was so much food to eat and so much to drink, and it was all delicious.

The experience was everything we hoped for and more!! Our instructors were just the best, and we highly recommend!

I have been cooking for decades, and have cooked Paella numerous times - I still learned something. The instructor was energetic, clear, and engaging. The quality of the facilities, equipment were great. The ingredients were fresh and high quality. The wine flowed freely! We met some fun couples and shared great versions of paella. I highly recommend this experience.

When they say bottomless wine, they mean bottomless wine. It was amazing from start to literal finish. The instructors Benny and Benji, the food, the service and quality all top notch.

This was such a fun cooking class. Benny was a great instructor and really made the class an entertaining experience. They are not kidding about bottomless wine. Once your glass is empty, someone was there filling it up! This class is a must do if you are in Madrid. The whole place is beautiful. Where we dined was incredible!

There were not enough people for the paella cookery class so we were asked if we would like to transfer to the tapas cookery class. We are so glad that we did. It was a delightful experience with some great participants from the US and Canada. Benny and Benji our instructors were clear and guided us through each of the dishes, which were delicious. What excellent hosts.

A very entertaining and educational cooking experience! From the Cava at the start with instructions to party and cook, we knew it would be a great afternoon. Having the chopping and measuring pre done, we could focus more on the techniques of infusing the oil, working with aromatics, proper cook times for each addition to the dish and hints to making perfect Paella every time. Our group of 12 made 5 different variations of Paella and enjoyed them all, family style, with 3 wines in a historic dining setting. All recipes were shared including the apps & desserts we were treated to. Highly recommend this!

We booked a cooking class as part of our excursion experience. By far the positive energy, detailed explanation of what we were doing, and bottomless wine glasses were awesome! It was AMAZING! 5 stars to the team and Valentina who never let my glass go empty! Wonderful experience from those who love to share their cooking techniques!

Great class. Don't worry if you are not a chef. The class was a simple intro in paella. We had 4 groups that made 4 different types, then we all sat and ate. Met several very nice couples and singles. Great time, with free flowing wine.

A fun and well crafted class. The facility is setup perfectly and the chefs were not only very knowledgeable but also really fun. All of our dishes turned out delicious. And it really is bottomless wine!

I am a US expat who has been living in Madrid for 35 years, and I wanted my family to have a unique experience during their visit here. My SIL suggested this cooking class based on a 5-star recommendation she received from a fellow traveler, so we booked. There were 11 people altogether in our class, and we thoroughly enjoyed making our paellas while drinking unlimited cava and dancing to 80s tunes. They were able to accommodate gluten-free options, and Chef Claudia made everyone feel welcome and part of the group. Highly recommendable!

This 3 hour paella making class with our host Bernie was a fun experience and easy to participate in for novice cooks. Ingredients were precut which helped but the cooking process was still engaging. Lots of wine and other treats made it a fun experience. Enjoyed meeting other people and sharing our different paella together at the end!

Our family of five had an awesome experience. Benny (along with his assistant) was an excellent instructor as we made six different paellas in our class of 11 people. Every part of the experience from hors d’oeuvres and sparking wine as we cooked, cooking the paella from precut/measured ingredients, enjoying our dishes, wine and dessert and conversation with other members of the group in a quaint historic room was thoroughly enjoyed by all of us. Thank you to Benny for a memorable experience and teaching us how to make the best paella we tasted on our 12 day trip to Spain. Salud!!

We had such a fantastic experience at the Cooking Clubhouse in Madrid! This was one of the highlights of our trip. Everything was incredibly well organized from start to finish. The venue was spotless, and all of the ingredients were prepped and ready to go. We loved that everyone worked in pairs to prepare a single paella, which made it very interactive and fun. Our instructor was wonderful. She clearly loves what she does, and her enthusiasm and energy made the class even more enjoyable. We were traveling as a family of four, including two teenagers (ages 15 and 18), and every one of us had a great time. We highly recommend the Cooking Clubhouse to anyone visiting Madrid. Whether you're a foodie or just looking for a unique family activity, this class is absolutely worth it!

This paella class was the best introduction to paella in Madrid. We learned the process of making it and our instructor was able to show us what we are looking for when we make it at home. We tried all of the paellas later family style and it was a great experience.

This was an absolutely amazing experience! Nico, Diego, and the entire staff made this such a special event for all of us. The space itself is beautiful and completely private so it's just the teaching team and the class attendees in the whole building, which has some interesting history as well. The course moved at a perfect pace, and we were able to ask questions to ensure we really understood the technique. Bottomless wine is 100% accurate - our glasses were never empty and they are happy to accommodate your preference. Not only were the paella dishes delicious, but so were all the other treats the team prepared for us to enjoy. If you are into cooking at all, I would HIGHLY recommend this course and the Cooking Clubhouse in general. Great experience and we left with the cookbook, ready to go make paella back home!

What an incredible experience! From start to finish, everything was thoughtfully planned and so much fun. The location is fantastic, especially the beautiful downstairs dining area. We enjoyed our meal in a charming brick room with candlelit tables—it was cozy, elegant, spotless, and air-conditioned. We were welcomed by the friendly staff with a glass of champagne before taking a short walk to the local market. There, we learned about local traditions and sampled delicious regional foods—such a great way to start the experience! Afterward, we returned to the kitchen to prepare five different types of paella. The chefs were outstanding—knowledgeable, experienced, engaging, and incredibly patient. They guided us through every step of the cooking process, but we did all the hands-on work ourselves, which made it even more rewarding. One of the best parts was sharing the experience with wonderful families and couples from around the world. Once everything was ready, we enjoyed not only our own creations but everyone's dishes, along with appetizers, dessert, and unlimited champagne, white wine, red wine, or water. The black Squid was a favorite (which shocked me and wasn't what we cooked). The entire class lasted about two and 1/2 hours, and every minute was enjoyable. If you're looking for a unique, interactive, and delicious experience, this is an absolute must-do. We truly loved it and would recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

We had such a wonderful time with, Benny! The cooking class was a small group, everything was thoughtfully prepped for us, and the food was delicious! We had delicious wines and wonderful paella in a super cute space with lovely new friends. They clearly put a lot of thought and consideration into making this an enjoyable experience.
