Madrid: Guided Tour Of The Royal Palace

The guide assumed that we know the history of the names of Spanish kings and queens. It would be best to provide a table with times in history when these kings and queens mentioned ruled the country and lived at the palace.

Very knowledgeable tour guide. She was very accommodating for our group including a small walker. Would definitely recommend!

Yesterday we had wonderful tour with Elena. It was extremely educational--we learnt a lot about the palace, it's history and of the royal family--both past and present. Elena was engaging, thoughtful and had a lovely sense of humor. The side notes she provided truly allowed us to better understand and envision the progression of the monarchy to the current royal family. Certainly would recommend this to anyone wanting to experience the tour from a knowledgeable and lovely guide.

The tour of the Royal Palace was great and well worth it. What I believe made our experience great was our guide, Aurora, who was very knowledgeable, explained everything and even had some 'secrets' to share with us. :)

Excellent guided tour of the palace. Our guide had a wealth of information to provide and made it a very enjoyable tour. I attended with a teen who also enjoyed herself, showing the tour was interesting to different age groups. Highly recommend!

Due to lack of planning, we couldn't get tickets for the Royal Palace directly and had to get them from the secondary market through Tiqets. Of course that means we paid more and were going to have to join an organised tour that wouldn't have been our first choice. But then we met Aurora and our opinion changed. She was fantastic. She made it really easy to find her at the meeting point, she was a friendly and entertaining guide and had a love for her home city that shone through with her knowledge and insight. A great experience!

Won was our guide and he was very good. We had a small group of 4, so we were able to stay together and hear him with mobile devices. He knowledge of the palace nd Spanish history was excellent. The palace itself was interesting and similar to other European royal palaces. The 2 hour two is plenty. Entrance fees ok.

We had the guided tour (booked NHUE tours via TripAdvisor) on October 7th. Guide picked us up from a nearby metro station and gave us our listening equipment. Leading us to the palace she talked about history and the other important buildings in the vicinity. She was very knowledgeable, had small funny comments about historical events and figures, and spoke fluent English. We were extremely satisfied with the tour and the guide. We were lucky that we saw the military ceremony that happens once a month. Learned so much more about the palace and Spain’s history than we would have if we had taken the self-tour. Definitely recommend this tour.

We booked an English language tour. The guide appeared very knowledgeable but her English was very accented and difficult to understand.

We arrived at the meeting spot 15 minutes prior to 1:15 PM. The tour guide seems to be untraceable. When we contacted the local number, someone informed us that they had left 5 minutes ago, and we could meet them at the Royal Palace entrance. Within just 3 minutes, we rushed to the royal palace, but the tour guide wasn't present. At the royal palace entrance, the local authority person told us that she cannot admit us without a tour guide and suggested contacting the tour guide. We called the local number again, but the person was very rude and told us that they couldn't contact the tour guide and let him know that we were outside the entrance. She mentioned contacting the booking agency, TripAdvisor. After pleading with the local authority person, they finally let us in. TripAdvisor should avoid booking with this group (NHUE) in the future.

Our tour was fantastic!!!! Aurora was our tour guide and she really knows her stuff. We did the English tour. She was very personable and with a good sense of humor. I highly recommend this tour with her. Well done Aurora 👏👍

Couldn’t find tour and the guide never answered we tried to message/ call them to meet up. They were not where they said they would be located

Everything was great. The guide was at the meeting point, we got our tickets, very nice. The first guide spoke very fast in Spanish, so we switched to another one and it all worked out great.

This is a lovely tour small and personal with enough time to take in the palace. At a good pace but not too long. Our guide was very attentive and helpful, when a fellow tourist on our tour felt ill. Excellent guide, great experience.

Good tour. Very informative. You need to read the instructions carefully though so that you don’t go to the wrong meet up point.

We booked this tour through Tripadvisor when we couldn't get tickets from the Palace website because they were sold out. We were very happy to get tickets the day before this tour was scheduled. The meeting place was easy to find. The guide was knowledgeable and very nice. She was able to handle some difficult people in a professional way. She made the tour interesting and kept us all together, even when there were other tour groups in the area. A very nice tour for a very good price.

An interesting tour. The guide had some trouble getting the headset/players to work at first and it took a little while to get the tour going. We did a Saturday and it was extremely crowded. Overall he was very knowledegeable.

Good experience, but I think the visit was a little too fast. The presentation of the palace was rather satisfactory but once inside, the sequence of rooms was very fast and the description and historical references a bit incomplete I find, The guided tour is better anyway.

Beautiful visit, the guide Francisco was very good and competent and made us spend two fantastic hours immersing ourselves in the history of the royal palace!

The guided tour was excellent. Friendly, objective guide, telling a lot about the history. The entry of groups is made by an independent entry, with fewer queues.

I am outraged by the fact that I cannot reach customer service because the visit was canceled by the site and I want to be able to get a refund, it is impossible to get a response to my email, I find this particularly outrageous, they are really terrible, I am going to file a complaint

Aurora, our French-speaking guide, was fascinating with a great sense of humor; we learned many interesting things with historical anecdotes. A must-do without hesitation for a cultural and convivial moment!
