They did not show up in the meeting point. There was other people waiting as well and no one was waiting for us. We called Viator and they told us they canceled one day before but we were not notified and in the app it was showing as confirmed. What disappointment.

The guide was very knowledgeable about history of Spain and she moved the tour very efficiently She explained everything very well
First time booking with Viator and it was great! We booked b/c tickets direct from the Palace were already sold out but Viator still had space on a small group tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and all logistics were smooth. It was fun! I will definitely consider Viator for future tours.
This tour was well worth it. We booked last minute (24 hours before) and thoroughly enjoyed it. Our tour guide Won was excellent and gave detailed descriptions and stories about everything throughout the palace. The palace is pretty stunning and well displayed. The tour or the Armory at the end was great. I have never seen such well displayed suits of armor and weapons.
I never experienced it. I contacted both Trip Advisor and the tour company about rebooking a day in advance and I still haven’t heard anything. I booked the experience late at night and mistakenly booked for Sunday instead of Saturday. I didn’t realize until walking to the meeting point and seeing that my ticket showed the following day. I’m hopeful that I reschedule when I come back to Madrid.
Unable to get on the tour due to unavailability and the operator was not able to find an alternative time or refund me
Our guide was engaging and courteous He offered interesting insights into the palace and it’s history
Tour guide was great and knowledgeable. I liked that she showed us historic and modern photos. It was very helpful to be able to enter with a group and reduce the wait time.
This was the worst experience you can’t say it’s an English tour when the tour guide hardly speaks a word of English and struggled to answer basic questions. He knew nothing about the history and didn’t understand and questions just his rehearsed info which was disappointing. It was the biggest waste of money I’ve ever spent and I joined another tour half the way through. He wasn’t engaging or informative if I could give a 0 I would
Well worth the trip! The Palace was absolutely gorgeous and the tour guide was very knowledgeable. Be aware there is a bit of walking involved, for those who have mobility issues.
Aurora, our tour guide was simply the best of the best. She told us all the history and the gossip and did it with a fantastic flair. She was charming and entertaining in her enthusiasm and wit. She made the royal palace tour a really fun experience. She had us all intrigued and laughing throughout! Bravo! Would do the whole thing again!
Great and informative experience. I felt like I knew almost everything about the general history of the palace and rooms. Javier was an excellent guide. Hilarious guy, attentive, took pics, and was ready to answer any questions. He guided us well through the crowds. Learned a lot of fun facts. The armory was a great ending to the tour, don't forget to stop by (its a quick look around). I definitely reccomend!
We had an excellent experience with our French guide Aurora. She explained everything in an interesting way & was very helpful & friendly.
The palace is absolutely beautiful and worth visiting but you should be prepared to stand and walk for a while (min. 2 hours). The guide (Aurora) is amazing and really knows her stuff and answers all questions asked.
A little hard to hear because of the crowds and acoustics but our guide was wonderful and the palace is spectacular.
Sergio was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions with humor and patience. We were able to see everything without feeling rushed. The Spanish history and his knowledge of the monarchy made what we were seeing come alive.
I couldn’t find the group so we didn’t get to go. The area was packed with groups and our wasn’t obvious.
Our guide was knowledgeable and did a great job explaining the Palace’s history and highlighting its most interesting features. Having a separate line from regular ticket holders was nice. Overall, the tour was well organized, informative, and good value for the money.
We could not have been more pleased with our Royal Palace of Madrid tour! Our original Sunday tickets were canceled because the palace was closing for the King and Queen’s stay that weekend. We scrambled to find another opportunity to visit before leaving Madrid and found this tour on Viator. It turned out to be a wonderful experience! Our guide, Sergio, was amazing—knowledgeable, engaging, and perfectly paced. We never felt rushed, and he explained the main highlights in a way that really brought the palace to life. With only seven people in our group, it felt like a personal tour. We could ask questions at any point, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We loved the small-group format, and Sergio truly made our visit special. Highly recommend!
Jesus was a great tour guide. Extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. The tour showed all the best art and we learned a lot as well.
Christiana was great. Incredible amount of knowledge and very receptive to asked questions.
Great insight by our tour-guide Cristiana into the history of the Royal Palace. Learned some very cool unique facts as well current day affairs
A place this magnificent deserves a guide who helps you experience it, not one who makes you feel like you’re being rushed through it. The tour was supposed to start at 3:00 PM, but it didn’t actually begin until around 3:30 PM. The meeting point was also extremely unclear. Everyone who was supposed to meet there had assembled, but Francisco himself wasn’t there. He was at a different location, and thankfully some other people helped me locate his red flag. The meeting point could easily have been closer to the palace, which would have saved everyone considerable time. For a place this vast and historically significant, there was no audio equipment whatsoever. We were expected to constantly stand around Francisco while he explained things, which meant we could barely look around or take photographs. What was particularly frustrating was that he never clearly told us at the beginning that once we moved through a room, we would not be allowed to return to it. I assumed I could focus on listening during the tour and come back afterwards to take photographs. Towards the end, when I said I wanted to go back and photograph some of the rooms, I was simply told that I couldn’t. There were also virtually no pauses to allow us to take in the surroundings, appreciate the architecture or photograph anything. This is an incredibly extensive place, filled with history, art and details, and the entire experience felt rushed and poorly organised. Several other people on the tour were visibly disappointed as well. Unfortunately, Francisco’s attitude throughout the tour did little to improve the experience. There were also some basic personal-hygiene issues, including noticeable bad breath, which made standing close to him for long periods particularly unpleasant. Overall, this was a poorly organised, rushed and unnecessarily restrictive tour. A place of this scale and significance deserved a much better guided experience. I would strongly recommend choosing a different guide or tour.
Wonderful tour, small group, very good guide. We were able to skip lines and he kept us moving. Very informative! We were very happy to have been able to book this last minute, as all tours through official site were fully booked,
I liked a lot! They explained everything very well. The guide was very friendly and lets us ask around
Great tour of the palace - tour guide Christina was well spoken easy to understand and explained a lot about the Spanish monarchs
Christiana was a wonderful guide. She really knows the history of the palace and it occupants. This tour was well worth the time and a great value. The guide spoke English very well.
Jaw-dropping beauty. Cristiana was an incredible guide. Soooo knowledgeable! Highly recommend this tour!
Christiana was knowledgeable, patient and very kind. I had a wonderful experience with her as a guide.
Paco was entertaining and informative. It was nice to have the personal touch of a small group where you could ask questions.
This tour was very good. The tour guide was very knowledgeable. I recommend visiting the Royal Palace.
Tour guide was very interesting and made the trip very enjoyable
Slightly unorganized at the beginning. No obvious sign to let you know it was your group and very confusing on instructions at first. Started late and not very professional. The guide made up for it in his knowledge and personality and turned it into a good experience at the end .
It was great! Lots of information about Spanish history. The palace is a must see in Madrid. I was surprised how many room we got to see.
I wish I could remember our guide’s name. She was friendly, funny, and a wealth of information. I highly recommend seeing the Royal Palace with a guide because I would not have gotten much doing it on my own. Highly recommend this tour. 😊
We had a great trip today. This tour with an English Speaking Guide (Francisco) really was a great adventure to explore the Palace. We would highly recommend this tour.
Worked well, however a lot of people and very hot. Guide was very good . Moved us through despite the crowds.
Tour of Royal Palace of Madrid June 26, 2026 at 11:00 - Crystilania was an excellent tour guide. She had much knowledge to share and kept the group engaged the entire time. Great presenter. Highly recommended.
It’s a proper palace in a great city. Lots of beautiful clocks , art works and stratavarias cello and violin .Disappointment was no bathrooms or kitchen areas to see .
Not possible to enter a group, but to pay in advance is ridiculous. I cannot recommend this tour to anyone.
Amazing experience, Aurora was great, passionate and knowledgeable. You can tell she really loves what she does and it made the experience well worth it.
This tour was an excellent way to have a look into the Spanish Royals. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the family and palace and told a wonderful story about the past and present monarchs. It was well worth it for the skip the line ticket too!
The guide was AMAZING!!! She was so kind and knowledgeable. She made the experience so fun and I had a great time.
Great to navigate the Royal Palace with such a knowledgable guide. It was extremely hot when we did the tour but the guide kept us in the shade on the walk to the palace and provided a lot of information on the visit.
Incredible tour! Well guided in french by Maïté. The tour was full on interesting historical details balanced with fun anecdotes. Would recommend!
Our tour guide Suzanne was very knowledgeable and friendly. The walking around the museum was well organized and she told us all the good facts. Also allowed us sufficient time to take in the atmosphere and allow us to time pictures.
Guide was great- very knowledgeable. No waiting in line. The rooms we saw inside the Palace were filled with beautiful artwork
Great tour. Informative, interesting, and just the right pace. Better than audio guides and just walking through yourself.
Aurora was our guide and she was great. Her pace was good, very good explanations, knew the material well.
Sergio was fantastic! Such a funny, warm, and knowledgeable tour guide. Would highly recommend to the next English or Spanish speaking group!
