It's a good experience for Violeta to share these 2 hours history trip of Spanish encarbation history. The walk was a bit tough, it went up and down between small streets around plaza mayor, palace..etc, She managed the whole journey well with clear description of every spot history. Good suggestion to us especially my whole family was in the first time to Madrid.

This was a really great experience . Our guide was fun and knowledgeable and kept us entertained with stories about some of Madrid’s history. We had a group of 8 which was perfect. I would definitely recommend this tour if you like history with a slightly dark twist. These were stories you wouldn’t get on a normal tour. Spanish Inquisition and
Fun and entertaining experience especially so close to Halloween! Daniel was really funny!
Fun, wonderful way to explore central and Hapsburg Madrid at night with fun facts of torture, ghosts, and history! Our guide Eneida was vivacious and full of energy and made it a delight. Would recommend.
Excellent tour Daniel had a lot of fun energy and knowledge! Encouraged participation from the tour guests, so fun!
I absolutely loved the experience. If I had time, I'd get a new tour option every day. I had seen half the places before, but it still felt new on tour.
Our tour guide was an incredible storyteller! He kept everyone laughing and engaged, involving us in the stories. Great tour.
This tour started right on time, and was a clever mix of history, stories of the paranormal, all wrapped up with some very clever and engaging theatrics. A rollicking good time - for an Inquisition tour, of course! Thanks Daniel - a lot of fun!
Daniel was animated and highly entertaining as well as very knowledgeable. His English is perfect. He is very personable and makes the tour fun and enjoyable! It’s excellent!!
Our tour got off to an unexpectedly spooky start when the scheduled guide simply didn’t show up, leaving us waiting well past the start time. Given that this was a ghost tour, we did wonder whether perhaps they were the ghost. After a call to the provider, María came to the rescue and the tour got underway. We really appreciated her humour, storytelling and everything she added to the experience. A fun, worthwhile and suitably spooky way to explore Madrid after dark.
interesting night walk. our guide was a very good sorry teller who certainly enjoyed her job. i do not remember her name unfortunately
This was such a fun and amazing experience. We absolutely loved our tour guide, Daniel. He was so fun and really did a great job of bringing a group of strangers together. The tour was incredibly fun and the storytelling was amazing.
Daniel was a fantastic guide. He was very animated and enthusiastic. He made the tour entertaining and informative. I cannot recommend more highly.
Interesting facts, macabre details, and plenty of walking in this fascinating tour of the darker side of Madrid. Our tour guide was funny, knowledgeable, and extremely personable.
Very entertaining and educational—be ready to walk which at end of day could be a bit tiring. Wear walking shoes; bring water bottles; and energy. Guide was fun and funny. You will learn much.
Come with an adventurous attitude to enjoy the stories of old Madrid and the inquisition nine minute walk . Make sure to have good walking shoes, water, and perhaps an umbrella for shade.
This was a super fun way to enjoy the streets of Madrid in the evening with an entertaining guide. Daniel was excellent and told great stories about the history of the Spanish Inquisition. Would highly recommend it to others!
One of the highlights from our trip to Madrid! Our guide Daniel did a fantastic job and really brought the stories to life. We got to see a lot of the main buildings and squares in Madrid while learning the history. Would definitely recommend and particularly at the beginning of your trip so you get understand the history while you tour Madrid more. Bonus that the night tour was at a great time out of the heat of the day.
Our guide Annada? was great. Very nice, informative, and easy to talk to. We walked around areas of Madrid that were quite special and it was easy to get back to the starting point/hotel/other places.
The tour was amazing! We got a different view of España! Viola was so informative and great personality!!! She was amazing!!
High focus on the history, very interesting! Ghosts come in a little, but mostly stories from the Inquisition sites throughout the city.
Entertaining and educational tour with our guide Daniel who was extremely enthusiastic for his subject. The tour was at a good pace and we learnt a lot about the inquisition. There were parts of the city we hadn't seen before. Definitely recommend if you're into history and anything spooky.
This was a really fun experience. Our tour guide Daniel was great. He is very knowledgeable and made every story interesting and very entertaining. Loved all the stories about this time in history.
Eneida, our guide ( and actress by profession) gave us an outstanding tour of old-town Madrid & its history. Very thorough explanations of the Spanish Inquisition, mixed with local legends & humor. Such a treat!
It was a great experience, our tour Eneida, wasn’t only super nice and funny but she made a super entertaining and interesting tour where you’ll learn a lot while walking through most beautiful corners of the city.
Having worked as a tour guide and conducted my own tours, I very much value the experience of going on a tour for a memorable experience of a place that will live on long after getting home. That experience is conveyed through the person of the guide: their attitude, passion and communication. Having just a few days in Madrid and one night only when my companions and I could go on a tour together, we booked this tour. I’d circled a few possibilities for a while online, and resolved to go with this particular tour. We turned up in the Plaza de Provinzia for the allocated time. Given the tour management had been in touch seeking to move the tour day, and the forecast was wet for the evening, I was nervous if the tour would actually go ahead. I had had a completely different tour cancel on me earlier in the day, too (different operator). Thankfully our guide with a lantern and suitable costume appeared through the rain. We had a small group of 8, from several countries. Made for a great and congenial dynamic. From my own days of tour guiding, dark rainy evenings and a small group made for memorable moments. Our guide, Violeta, accommodated some last minute needs of some guests. She dealt with the rain with a smile, and sought to get us under cover as much as possible, which is not very much, but she was considerate nonetheless. She quickly established a rapport with the group, and proceeded to take us on a wiggling route around many dark side streets and some principal tourist hotspots. By virtue of the rain the Plaza Mayor was very quiet and atmospheric. As were the alleys. If your tour has wet weather forecast, stay with it. It actually makes a very suitable ambience for such a tour. The tour was very much a “Horrible Histories” feel, if you’re familiar with the UK books and TV series, but obviously with a Madrid-centric palette of glorious and inglorious tales to offer. I particularly enjoyed the tale of Don Juan Echenique, a very striking story with motifs and archetypes shared with historical strange legends. And without giving too much away, learning of Charles II of Spain’s problems, and using that as a hook for ghostly tales of the Royal Palace was stimulating. Much content I will continue to go over, and these in particular will live rent-free in my head for goodness knows how long. Being a tour guide is very much being an ambassador for the employer and the city. Violeta was a credit to Mysterium Tours and Madrid, giving each of the group a good memory of Madrid and the couple hours in the rain learning of the city’s grim history by the vector of the inquisition, myths and ghosts.
Our tour guide was fantastic. We forget her name but she led the march 26 8pm tour in English. We were with our daughter who is here for study abroad. This is a great tour, a mix of creepy and informative about the inquisition.
Daniel a very entertaining and hilarious tour guide that know how to make tour feel like a new one. This is my second time in Madrid and I had to take this tour again and I was lucky enough to get Daniel both times. So if your in doubt about this tour, do it and if your lucky you'll get Daniel as your guide.
Daniel was phenomenal — funny, energetic, and an amazing storyteller. He has this incredible way of mixing creepy ghost stories, dark history, and humor so well that you’re never bored for a second. One moment you’re learning about the Spanish Inquisition, the next moment you’re laughing, and then suddenly you’re looking over your shoulder to check if a ghost is following you. 👻 The tour was entertaining from beginning to end and the time flew by. We enjoyed it very, very much and would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting the city.
My husband and I had an amazing experience on this tour!!! I have been on these types of tours all over the world, and Violetta (I hope I'm spelling her name correctly) was one of the best tour guides I have ever had! Her outfit was great, she did the whole tour in heels (I have no idea how she did it - that alone is so impressive!) but she also spoke perfect English, clearly and loud enough to hear her, and in addition to being exceptionally entertaining, she also had so much knowledge that she had no problem answering so many questions! The tour gave such an amazing view of the city at night, with so much rich history, and interesting historical facts. There's 2 streets where you're walking up hill, but Violetta walked at a good pace that made it easy to keep up with. 2 hours flew by!!! I was not exhausted by the 2 hour tour, and there are 3 stops that give you the opportunity to sit. An amazing tour! I definitely recommend it!
We had an excellent time on the English tour. Our guide Violetta was knowledgeable, exceedingly charming, and an excellent story teller. The tour was full of interesting information, and not overly physically taxing!

What a great storyteller our guide Eneida was! She made us a bit scared sometimes, but also many laughs. We had a great time on the tour, saw beautiful Madrid sights and learned about legendary and dark moments. Definite recommend!
We had a fantastic tour of Madrid last night with Daniel. The tour was very interesting, enough to impress our two teenagers still saying they loved it the next morning! Daniel delivered the tour amazingly. Would definitely recommend it!
Interesting tour! We learned some history we might not otherwise learn, and saw a lot of streets and plazas at night that were off the beaten path and other places like where the Inquisiton prisoners were held and plazas where they were tortured and killed. Guide kept it interesting and interactive. . We all had some good laughs thanks to our guide and despite the tragic subject matter.
Our guide was so much fun. It was a great tour walking through the streets of Madrid learning a bit of history, legends and myths along the way.
Nice walk in late night Madrid. A lot of interesting information. Our tour guide Violetta was great.
Great tour for the whole family. Educational, witty and entertaining. We learned so much and still talk about it. Big thank you for not cancelling the tour although we were only 3 people and it was bitter cold. You will never look at the center of Madrid the same way. Excellent value for money.
Amazing! Such fun! We were spoilt to be part of this tour tonight with Daniel. He was great fun & super informative. Our only regret is not having any cash on us for a tip - definitely worth doing if you're in Madrid!
We had a great tour with Eneida, walking through the narrow and not so crowded streets of downtown Madrid, looking at gorgeous buildings, while listening to very interesting stories and fun legends.
Daniel was wonderful. We booked the tour for our first night visiting Madrid. Our family got to see a little, learn a little, and have a little fun.
This was a great way to see Madrid at night. I walked into this tour knowing very little of the inquisition and loved learning about it through our guides amazing story telling. He was so animated and interactive. My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience
Wonderful and informative experience! Romy was knowledgeable and very nice. Thank you for the tour! She told the stories in a way that held everyone’s attention.
This tour was definitely a 5/5. Dan is a wonderful tour guide. He kept the tour interactive and interesting. Highly recommend?
Our tour guide was Daniel. On the positive side, he was knowledgeable and very fluent in English which made the explanation clear and concise. However, he was too theatrical at times which took away from the experience. He also spent too much time toying with another customer which was unnecessary. My wife and I both thought he missed several opportunities to go deeper into the history and background of many of his stories. It could have been so much better.
It was a pleasant walk filled with a lot of interesting and fun stories. Daniel was a fantastic story teller, and I'll be recommending this your to anybody I know visiting Madrid.
We had an absolutely amazing time on the “Spanish Inquisition and Legends of Madrid” tour! Our guide, Daniel, was simply outstanding : lively, passionate, and incredibly engaging. He drew us into the stories from start to finish, and time flew by without us even noticing. Despite the dark theme, the tour was fascinating, informative, and even fun, thanks to his clear explanations, great anecdotes, and fantastic storytelling. We highly recommend this experience to anyone looking to discover Madrid in a unique and memorable way. A must-do! Thanks again Daniel ! :)
This was a great tour and Daniel was so engaging and theatrical! You will learn a lot about the inquisition and lots of other interesting facts about old Madrid.
We had a fabulous time led by our talented guide Daniel who really brought to life gruesome tales of the inquisition and spooky stories of old while walking us around some of the most inspiring architecture and areas in Madrid. Awesome tour, thank you very much.
A really enjoyable night tour in Madrid, getting to see a night-time view of many corners of the city, which “feels” and looks quite different at night than during the day. Well worth the experience, coupled with stories of the dark times of the Inquisition and other legends both frightening and comical. For our tour guide, Eneida, it was first time tour and she did a wonderful job of spell-binding us with her engaging storytelling. We were quite the international group of participants from NYC, Netherlands, Australia, Israel and the UK with a wide age range from teen ager to 70 year olds, and it appeared that ALL had a really good time. WELL RECOMMEND!!!
