Madrid Icons & Hidden Gems: Private Custom Tour With A Local

We thoroughly enjoyed our first morning in Madrid with Carmen. We had a private 2 hour tour of the city and it was the perfect way to start our vacation. Carmen came very prepared, showing us vintage pictures of Madrid and clearly explaining how it has evolved over the centuries in a friendly manner that made for a compelling light history course. This is a great walking tour for anyone new to Madrid and wanting to learn about the city as you enjoy time away from home.

Great overview of Madrid, recommend scheduling early in your visit to get an idea of where you'd like to spend more time. Carmen is knowledgeable and fun as you walk through old Madrid.

We booked this tour for our first day in Madrid. It helped us to orient ourselves in the city. Our guide Carolina was ponctual, calm, and knowledgeable. She adapted the tour to our preferences and was generous enough to give us a list of good local Madrilenian restaurants. We recommend this tour without reserve.

Patricia was great! Very knowledgeable, pleasant, gentle and ready to help, assist and answer any questions from me (even after the tour!) She showed me things about Madrid other than the traditional that most tourists probably know. I loved her tour.

Carmen catered our tour to what we wanted to see, was open to changing our route depending on what interested us, had so many suggestions for places to eat and more things to explore given the time. Exceptional walk around to see things that truly were hidden gems! Perfect title! Carolina was a great guide! She walked at a great pace to see a lot in two hour time and explaining the sites as we went along. She allowed plenty of time for pictures. We liked how she adapted to our interests.

Getting personal guide to start off your visit is a must in Madrid. Having someone like Carmen guide you and share the history/life on Madrid only enriches your experience. This was truly delightful and I strongly recommend this tour. Only additional advice I eoukd give is dress for very hot weather, bring water and prepare to walk.

Guided by Carmen, I had a wonderful, historical introduction around the city centre of Madrid. Carmen shared her knowledge and love of Madrid with great passion. She also cared that I enjoyed our walk.

Our lovely tour guide, Lisa, contacted us prior to the tour and asked about our interests. She picked us up on time in our hotel lobby. She was very friendly and pleasant. She walked with us and brought us to places in the neighborhood and the city that we would not have discovered by ourselves and which enriched our experience in Madrid. She explained the layout of the neighborhoods, the city, and the history of the development of the areas. We learned a lot, had a wonderful experience, and it was a must-do addition to our trip. Definitely recommend and would do it again in a heartbeat!

We had a wonderful tour with our guide, Pedro! He was very communicative prior to our tour to be sure he knew what we would be interested in seeing and plan the tour to our requests. He also was able to meet us at our Airbnb to start the tour so we did not have to worry about finding the meeting spot and was able to give us some information about the part of the city we were staying in. He was very knowledgeable, especially regarding architecture in the city. His pleasant demeanor and excitement to show us around was so welcoming and a great way to get us acclimated to the city! Highly recommend!

tour was not about finding the big stuff-- that can be easily done online. Lisa the guide was excellent at sharing great small stuff and giving advice on where to go and making effective use of time and resources. Carmen, my guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about her country and city Madrid. I wanted items off the beaten path outside of the main ticket landmarks and items and she delivered. These tours are customable to what you want to see.

Lisa did a fabulous job making us feel confortable and a great conversationalist. She really got us immersed into Spanish culture and also made our tour incredibly flexible to cater to our own goals and needs. I recommend her highly and her professionalism was remarkable. A walking tour of Madrid during the day away from tourist attractions is a must.

Lisa met us at our hotel and we began the tour. She spoke perfect English and we knew this was going to be a great two hour tour. She showed us the area highlights around the Literary quarter and showed us hidden gems. It was like being on a tour with a friend. This tour is highly recommended.

I highly recommend a private tour outside of the normal tourist areas. I had such a nice day with Carmen who showed me points of interest architecture and amenities near where I was staying.

Our tour was really nice and informative. We really enjoyed it and we would do it again if I get to visit another time

Our local guide didn’t show up and we waited for almost 30 minutes before we finally left the meeting point. Although there was lots of frustrations with this, we did get our money back and got offered some free tour to use.

Lisa was great. Great communicator before the walk about. Lisa is sweet and very informative, and seems to know all the other tour leaders. Spent three hours with her and was never bored. She takes her time to explain every thing for you. Makes a tour to fit what you want, not a pre-packaged tour. She wears a bright red hat, so you cannot get lost.

My friend and I were looking for something a little different from the usual tourist fare and Lisa delivered! From a third generation guitar craftsman to the nuns selling cookies at an inner city convent, the tour was fun, informative, and just what we were looking to find in Madrid.

Lisa was very knowledgeable about Madrid and adjusted my tour based on my preferences for the time I would be with her. My one complaint is that the tour ended about 25 minutes early (it was scheduled for 2 hours). Otherwise, I enjoyed my time with Lisa.
