Join us for a 3.5 long walking food tour you will dive into a world of local culinary experiences in Madrid! You will try only the best dishes and tapas of each restaurant. Sipping a glass of wine or local beer you will be able to feel this unique lifestyle, based on hard work but also moments of pleasure, social life and relax. We will walk through the most beautiful streets of Madrid, passing by the most famous monuments, while our Local Expert will give an insight into the history and culture of the city. Please, bear in mind that the tastings here described may change according to the season and the availabilities of our partners.
You will start your culinary adventure in Plaza de Santa Ana, right in the heart of the city with its luxurious buildings such as the Teatro Español - the most ancient theatre in the Spanish capital - and the Reina Victoria Hotel, where bullfighter used to stay during corridas. Here you will also see the stautes of famous Spanish figures, like the dramatist Pedro Calderón de la Barca or the poet Federico Federico García Lorca. Here you will meet your Local Expert and you will head towards the first stop, where you will indulge in a delicious local tapas: gambas al ajillo, delicious and tender shrimps seasoned with a spicy sauce made of garlic and pepper.
After this first treat, we will head near Plaza Jacinto Benavente, a lively square named after the Nobel Prize winner writer Jacinto Benavente. In a tapas bar nearby you will try one of the most iconic dish of Spanish cuisine, the potato tortilla! Perfect to share, tortilla is a thick omelette made of eggs, potatoes and sometimes onions. Simply unmissable during your trip to Spain.
Plaza Mayor is probably one of the symbols of Spanish capital and a true a must see that's now in baroque style. It has always been a place full of historical meaning, where rendez-vous, announces and celebrations take place. In a bar nearby, you will try a staple of Spanish street food: the famous bocadillo de calamares, a delicious sandwich filled with tender and golden fried squids. Ideal to be shared!
While heading to your next stop, you will see a work of art painted by the illustrator Antonio Mingote, depicting life scenes in Madrid from the end of the XIX and the beginning of XX centuries. And after this introduction to local street art, indulge in Madrid’s traditional cold cuts, a delicious showcase of the region’s rich culinary heritage. Cebo, a flavorful cured pork, boasts a delicate balance of spices, while lomo, made from marinated pork loin, offers a tender, melt-in-your-mouth experience. Chorizo, with its vibrant paprika-infused flavor, is a staple in Spanish cuisine, adding a smoky kick to any dish. Salsichón, a seasoned salami, rounds out this delectable selection with its robust taste and satisfying texture. Often enjoyed as part of a tapas spread, these cold cuts pair wonderfully with crusty bread and a glass of wine, making them a favorite among locals and visitors alike.
We will end our culinary adventure in a small square near Plaza Mayor, where you will discover THE dessert in Spain to eat all over the day. Churros are long-shaped doughnuts fried in hot oil andserved with a cup of hot chocolate, ideal for colder days. In Summer, you will indulge in an ice cream, with flavours made with local ingredients.

Osmel met us promptly at the meeting point. He explained what we were going to do. Amazing garlic prawns and local wine. Then super tortilla still wobbly! Osmel explained the history of tapa and the food we tasted. Then the jamon shop. Delicious tasting plate 3 types of jamon and 2 sausage. He also told us about Iberian pigs and how the jamon is made. Then Plaza Major for calamari sandwich. And to top it off hot choclate and churros!! So good. Thank you a memorable day.
Osmel was a great guide. Tremendous historical and cultural insights in addition to his foodie knowledge. The pacing was just right and the five places we visited all were varied and memorable . Highly recommended. The best tour of this type I’ve ever done.

Davide, our guide did a great job sharing the history of Spain through the architecture and food scene of the country. The stops provided a great cross-section of the Tapas offerings of the city. This was definitely worth the price, you receive more value than the cost.
Luis gave us a wonderful tour of the dining options in and around the Plaza Mayor and Plaza Santa Ana. He gave great insight into the tapas culture of Madrid choosing several establishments that had served their specialties for over 100 years. Every course was different and very tasty.
Davide was very knowledgeable, friendly, and we learned a lot about Madrid.
Adolfo was indeed the sweetness at the end of our Madrid Tapas food tour! Five stars and beyond! Thank you for a bit of Spain’s history and a whole lot of authentic bites and sips! Highly recommend him as your private tour guide!
Luis [foodie] was prompt at meeting time. Was very good at ice breakers for the group of 2 UK couples and 2 US couples. Very open and knowledgeable about food and showed real passion for his job. I do not eat meat but am pescitarian and did not go hungry. The distance was about right and spread into different districts for wider food analysis.
Luis was amazing! A great guide and he was so enthusiastic and had a great attitude. I would encourage anyone to do this tour
Had a wonderful experience today with Luis. The food on the tour was delicious and huge portions so go with an empty stomach.
We go to a lot of food tours and this ranks near the top. 5 stops, just one special food each place - a great way to do it, I wasn't over-full and the things we ate were truly the best of the best. Osmel was a great guide.
Fun and delicious tapa tour. Shrimp, calamari, chocolate and more. I never would have found these tapa bars without the tour. Adolfo did an excellent job! I highly recommend this tour.
Adolfo was our guide and after being 21 days traveling we weren’t expecting to learn new things but we were wrong! Adolfo was so warm and knowledgeable! Took us to these special little places and the local dishes. It was amazing! I would book a tour with him again. Thank you for all the recommendations! Amanos a Madrid!!
We really enjoyed this tour. Lidia our guide is a local resident with a wealth of knowledge and tremendous pride in her city and country. Our whole family enjoyed the food and drink so much. I can highly recommend this tour to families, couples and single travelers. Easy walking and a great selection of foods and drinks to sample.
From the very beginning of our tour, Nicole made us feel welcome and well cared for. With just two couples in our group, we enjoyed a very personal and relaxed experience. The tour offered an excellent combination of sightseeing, local history, and food tasting. Nicole was extremely knowledgeable about both the historical sites we visited and the food we sampled. We thoroughly enjoyed all the stops, and her interesting commentary added a great deal to the experience. The tour actually ran a little longer than scheduled, but we considered that a bonus! The extra time gave us an opportunity to learn even more about the fascinating places we were visiting. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience, from the interesting sights and engaging history to the excellent food. Nicole was a wonderful guide, and we would happily recommend her tour to others.

A great experience on our first visit to Madrid. Adolfo introduced us to some local specialties. The best places to enjoy different tapas. The best tortilla was down my favourite.
Very nice although only two glasses of wine- the other 3 stops were water only. Would have enjoyed trying another wine, vermouth or cup of coffee.
This is for sure a walking and standing tour, so if you’re expecting to sit down - that’s not going to happen. Tour guide David was awesome - wove in history and food thru the tour, so much we went back the next day to some of the places mentioned to explore a bit more.

We had such a wonderful experience on our Madrid food tour! 🇪🇸 We got to try so many delicious local specialties, including gambas al ajillo, Spanish tortilla, the famous calamari sandwich, local charcuterie, and churros with chocolate. It was such a fun way to experience Madrid’s food culture and discover some local favorites. Our tour guide, Osmel, was fantastic! He was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful, and he made the experience even more enjoyable by sharing interesting information about the food and local culture. Most importantly, he was very accommodating of my mom’s many food allergies and made sure she felt comfortable throughout the tour. That level of care really meant a lot to us!
