This was a. try nice half day tour. The bus was very nice and comfortable, our tour guides and driver were all very kind. Angie took us on a walking tour of Toledo and let us stop to take pictures and ask questions and learn more about the history of the city. All in all, it was a great day.

The Alcázar of Toledo is a stone fortification located in the highest part of Toledo, Spain. Once used as a Roman palace in the 3rd century, it was restored under Charles I (Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor) and his son Philip II of Spain in the 1540s. In 1521, Hernán Cortés was received by Charles I at the Alcázar, following Cortes' conquest of the Aztecs. Most of the alcázar was rebuilt, or restored, between 1939 and 1957 after the Siege of the Alcázar of the Spanish Civil War.
The Primate Cathedral of Saint Mary of Toledo is a Roman Catholic church and it is the seat of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Toledo. (entrance/interior visit is not included) The cathedral of Toledo is one of the three 13th-century High Gothic cathedrals in Spain and is considered, in the opinion of some authorities, to be the magnum opus of the Gothic style in Spain.

The meeting point was not clearly indicated, and there was no way to identify the person responsible for welcoming us. As a result, we had to approach people one by one across a large square to find the right person. The representative should have been holding a sign or some other visible identification. Furthermore, the coach was very dirty, with damaged seats and extremely dirty windows. The gentleman who welcomed us at the beginning was also rather rude. Overall, the organisation and the condition of the coach were disappointing and certainly need improvement.
Toledo is such a beautiful town. We did the half day but I wish we had more time there. There was so much to see!
The explanation was limited not even a mention of el greco. I paid extra to visit st tome church. I had to ask as we were running out of time. I had to run down the street and never made it almost missed the bus back. The driver if the bus almost got us into rearending a truck. Poor visit. Not worth the money
The guide needs to plan out what she is doing try to solve problems ahead of time like buying umbrellas and not having microphones that work. Communication is weak from the start
Structure of the tour can be better. We could get only 2 hours in the city of Toledo for a trip duration of 6 hours, this feels inadequate. The Stop at Sword factory is unnecessary - it's a detour and nothing but a sales pitch. Same products are available in the city - in abundance. Overall - disappointed - falls short of expectations
Great tour. Gives you just a hint to Toledo. A follow up is a must. Nice guide. Not suitable for people with special mobility needs, due to the nature of the city.
TripAdvisor did not provide clear guidance on how to identify the group we should look for. The guidance was fairly clearly on where to meet, but there were so many other buses and groups there that we didn’t know where to go exactly for our group. We were looking for a sign or bus with “Yellow Tour” and there was none. We happened to ask someone wearing a maroon vest with Madrid tours on it and they led us to the line of folks waiting on this tour. We were there 30 minutes early, walking around and looking for a “Yellow Tour” sign and there was none! Anyway, we got on the bus and made it to Toledo. We would have liked to skip the metal working short tour. We also had the tickets to see the Santa Tome church, but oddly enough it was not the big main church that our tour guide spent time telling us about. We were on our own to find the Tome church and since we didn’t have much time, we opted to not go. We were told to be back at the bus by 4:45. We were there 4:30, but we didn’t leave until 5, when the lone missing dude finally made it back to the bus. That wasn’t cool, we should have left at the appointed time. The guide “Elias” was good and I think we’d like to go back to Toledo one day for a longer stay.
The meeting point was not easily identified but by asking some of the professionals wearing Big Bus Shirts we were able to get to the correct spot. The bus seats were a bit tight, but the ride to Toledo is quick. Once in Toledo the Tour Guides are super nice and very professional. The walking tour is very helpful to understand the Cultural History and significance of Toledo’s architecture and design. The city is incredible, reminded me of Siena in Italy. The food is good, especially the Iberian Ham.
Disappointed with this tour. Tour states both Spanish and English and was very limited in English. Tour was actually only about 15 minutes and the rest of time was on your own. The city was interesting and beautiful sites but not worth the money spent on tour.
Fascinating city, great history. Worth spending time in the historic quarter.
The actual trip in no way matched the description on the Viator website. Viator indicated that the group size would be no more than 15 people. That’s one of the reasons we booked this tour. There were 57 of us according to the guide. Viator also indicated that we would have about two hours free time to explore the city on our own. Another reason why we booked this tour. We had to leave the organized tour early so that we could see at least some of Toledo on our own. We never even got to see St. Tome as described on Viator’s website. This tour was lame.
The walking tour was great with an excellent guide Tamara. We learned a lot about the social, economic and religious history of Toledo. There is a wealth of history there, plus the city is absolutely charming. I would have preferred to spend more time exploring the city rather than a tour of the sword factory. It was interesting but it seemed the purpose of the visit was to generate sales. It was a very large tour group which meant there was time taken up with loading and unloading people from the bus and distributing headphones, but the tour group did this well. If you’re happy with a large tour, I’d recommend it.
Tour was well organized and our tour guide Ramiro was very knowledgeable. Ramiro is very passionate about the history of Toledo! If you are an art lover, pay the extra 5 euros to see the Greco in Santo Tome. It was amazing. This church is also amazing inside. We signed up for the Express tour (6 hours) but I wish we would have signed up for the Extended tour that gives you an additional 2.5 hours in Toledo on your own. I would have loved to have a wonderful meal at one of the nice restaurants in Toledo and a bit more time to shop!
Very good, the pick up was easy (but neptune fountain is very large and slow to cross so leave time for that). The Damascus tour was interesting enough. Bags cant be left on bus while at Toledo. But can be carried in the city easy enough. The six hour tour ends up being a bit tight on time so if you are hoping for dinner, a drink, a but of shopping and a wander then consider the 9hrs. Enjoy
Angie was a really great tour guide, she told us an awful lot about the city in a short amount of time and was funny and conscientious throughout. Toledo is a wonderful city, truly interesting and beautiful - wish we had longer to explore!
The tour depends on the guide and his mastery of English. Our guide was talking very fast and had an accent so we missed most of what he said.
We saw much that we wanted to see, but, needed more time. The guide's English was spoken too quickly to easily understand. Generally, a good experience though.
Great experience, encouraging everyone to go. Jose our guide was great from the beginning and his partner in Toledo(sorry I forgot his name). The additional charge for Sto. Tome church was ok, the QR code for the church entry was not the same for the Toledo trip so the guy at the gate was not letting us in until I called the designated phone number if we ran into situations. We were let in after a call was made. I saw the QR code sent to my WhatsApp after the fact. Anyways, overall was great, drivers for both ways were very careful and followed traffic rules - safe for everyone on board.
It was difficult to understand due tu poor quality audio equipment .but Angy was good
Good trip. Angy was very knowledgeable and pointed out many important sites. She also offered options for restaurants. Toledo is very hilly so be prepared! Bus left on time and was comfortable. Would recommend.
Wonderful half-day tour of Toledo with our lovely guide Tamara! She was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the tour really enjoyable. Highly recommended!
All it was was an express bus that cost 25 euros, made a quick stop so you can buy their souvenirs, and then 2 hours on your own and a bus ride home. Kind of hard to be impresses with a bus ride. However, 25 euros seemed to be a good price for a round-trip bus ride.
Our tour guide, Ramano was excellent, spoke with passion and portrayed warmth.
Angie, our guide was won’t. Very knowledgeable about Toledo history, dry friendly as well
David was our English-speaking guide. He was excellent- very knowledgeable about Toledo as he was from Toledo and knew its history well. His English was good for someone who had only started learning English 7 months before. Angie is also to be commended for her excellent English and general friendliness on the bus rides between Madrid and Toledo. All in all, a good experience. Next time we will take the longer tour to have more time in Toledo.
It is really worth it. Remember to take a hat and use sunblock. The guide (Ramiro) is very friendly and well prepared. He gives general information about the area and fun details. I enjoyed this trip very much.
Not words to describe an amazing city as Toledo, our guide Alejandro shows very well the city!
Toledo is great 👍 👌 . Even when you are visiting with a guide, Alejandro guide was very helpful and professional 👍
We have spent a great time all our members of our family, with the guide Alejandro!
Jose Luis was a fantastic tour guide! Answered questions that we had before and after we explored the beautiful city of Toledo. Both he and the city were so interesting! Highly recommend!
The tour was well organized with ample time to stroll and enjoy some fun shopping and delicious tapas! Highly recommended!
Ramirez is the best tour guide🌹👏😍
If you do the half day tour, don’t get a guided tour. Too much talk and slow going. Use the bus they provide to get to Toledo easy and enjoy. We would suggest the longer tour but it was 95 degrees and 1/2 day was enough. Go in the spring or fall and enjoy. Parking is hard in those places and the bus ride was perfect. Beautiful city with so much history.
a wonderful experience! a comfortable commute with a splendid and kind tour guide! even though it was a few hours, a lot was learned and i liked how we had over an hour of free time to explore the area :)
Our guide was great! Excellent experience.
It was great tour, still learned a lot with the express tour. It allowed us to go do our own thing and eat at a restaurant and do some shopping before heading back to the bus. Jose Luis was a great tour guide and definitely recommend if you are looking for something to do and learn.
Disappointed. The Tour Office made a mistake with the number of customers and spaces available. The worst: they never apologized and tried to make me feel that it was my mistake not them. The Manager was rude.
It was about 5 hours tour total time. The actual walking tour ( all together ) was less than 1 hour . This included a factory - first stop - where they show how to work with steel ( 5 min) and the showroom on the second floor with jewelry and swords. Overpriced. Then the second stop was in upper Toledo ( old town) and took no longer than 35 min. Very brief and very general information. Didn’t include entrances to the churches. Then it was free time to do whatever and at 14.15 we got into bus to get back to Madrid. Good that the transportation was provided. Bad that the tour was very superficial.
Great tour of the city of Toledo. Rachelle (?sp) was very informative about the culture and history. The El Greco painting was worth seeing. We didn’t go through the cathedral as we ran out of time.
Half day tour was perfect as an introduction to the city. Guide was very informative. Rachel
We were disappointed that the number of participants in the group had far exceeded what was advertised on the website. There were close to 50 people when their website says no more than 15 participants in each group. The big bus was full house. Even the guided walking tour in Toledo was split into Spanish and English groups, but were joined by other participants from other bus. There was no difference in the size of the group. Lucky that we were given audios to listen to the guide, so we could still hear what he said. Overall it was okay but not ideal.
The guided tour was meant to be an hour, and it ended up only being 40 minutes. We were also not taken to the Jewish quarter as advertised. Before we got to Toldeo, we were taken to a tourist trap (swords and jewelry) for 30 minutes - at least there was a bathroom to use, so it was not a completely wasted stop. Wandering around Toldeo was nice, but wish the tour lasted longer so that we could have seen and learned more.
Comfortable, on time and a lot of info about the old city and where to eat. Would have liked to explore more. Book a longer tour for more free time. Angie our tour guide was wonderful.
Good solution to visit Toledo at a reasonable cost. Angie has been supportive and helpful.
The tour guides were very knowledgeable, however I would not take the “express” pass, the amount of free time they grant is not even close to enough to visit Toledo. The walking tour (which itself was fairly pleasant) ended around 1pm and we were told to return to the bus pickup at 2:15pm, mind you the bus pickup was down the cliff from the drop off; around a 20 minute walk. Even to get food and ride the Panoramic bus would have exceeded the time allotment. We ended up not returning with the tour but taking train around 2 hours later (only a a 12€ ride). The “6 hours” of the tour might have been sufficient if we didn’t spend an hour at the artisan blacksmith shop (complete tourist trap btw!). If you do book, make sure that you do not do the express or are prepared to not have any free time in Toledo!
Great value. Kept well informed throughout the trip. Catered well for English speakers. Would recommend.
The tour was very disappointing and felt misleading. It was sold as Yellow Tours but turned out to be a Big Bus experience, which wasn’t made clear. Finding the pickup point near Neptune Fountain was confusing due to multiple buses and no guidance. The tour itself lacked substance—the guide only pointed out buildings without sharing any real history or stories. There were no meaningful stops at major attractions, and it felt more like a setup to push purchases than an actual guided experience. Good thing we brought a book about Toledo, as we were able to see the major attractions on our own. Overall, it did not match expectations. Do not recommend.
First you should know that the very first stop will be at a large store (tourist trap) designed to sell you jewelry, knives and other gold pieces after a brief 5 minute demo. They will literally take you into the store as a group. It is a total waste of time. I saw other large buses there so maybe all of the tour companies do this. So count on the first half hour being a waste. Then they will take you to the historical Toledo and they will repeat many times where to meet the bus and when it will leave to take you home. They do this because they are basically leaving you on your own after a short - maybe 20 minute walking tour. So I give it 3 stars for getting me to Toledo and back safely but I can’t say much more than that. It was not very organized.
Easy comfortable drive from Madrid, super friendly drivers and staff. Our tour guide, Miranda, was great. She provided a lot of interesting historical details, tips to get around the city, and overall well planned tour.
