Our tour was cancelled at 23:43 we were up early and almost out the door when I checked my emails and noticed a cancellation. Advanced notice prior to 17 minutes to midnight making it to late to book anything else as this was our last day in Madrid. Viator & this company are NOT who I would suggest booking.
Enrique knows wine, knows the area of his birth and has the passion to show people all that makes it special.
We had a wonderful day!!! Our guide and driver (who also owns his own winery a bit further away) was awesome & we had so much fun. Our weather wasn’t the best, it rained and was sunny on and off but we still made the most of it and our guide made it even better. We felt very safe and we learned so much while getting to experience so much of wine making in Spain (Madrid Region)!! We even had a break for coffee in the region. The owner of the first winery was so entertaining and informative and the second winery had an incredible network of caves under the property, where they stored the wines. We were fed by each winery enjoying their amazing wines, olive oils, cheeses and other food.
Henrique was our tour guide and he was exceptional. Knowledgeable and personable, he shared the history of the 2 wineries we toured and explained the finer points of the wines we enjoyed. The wineries were fascinating (clay pots!) and Henrique had a great rapport with the both owners. It was a wonderful day!
I Highly recommend this tour. Giuseppe was fantastic! He took us to two small villages that were filled with old culture and charm. We sampled the local bread fresh from the bakery oven! The winery in the cave was amazing. We went into the dark recesses to see bottles which were a hundred of years old. It was backlit with red lights for a dramatic presentation.
One of the best experiences if you enjoy wine … and who doesn’t!! Enrique was a really great host and took us to see the vines and learn about the wine growing conditions of Spain. As a qualified wine maker he was able to share many stories about the history and agricultural conditions. It was really very interesting. We then went and visited a small town where we visited two fabulous wineries. We have been to many wineries in Australia and to see the difference was quite fantastic. We were able to visit the cellars in the underground caves which was like nothing we’d ever seen. The wines and food were generous and Enrique was a very kind and accomodating host. Highly recommend.
Perfect for a small group looking for a leisurely paced wine tasting experience at a couple of places less than an hour from Madrid. No time pressure and very friendly and informative guides. Driver and guide Andrea went above and beyond to make our day excellent with our father who has mobility issues. If anyone in your group has mobility issues, you should ask questions ahead of time and be prepared to miss out on certain parts of the tours, as should be expected when visiting places with hills and stairs and caves etc. We understood this going in and adapted to the circumstances by enjoying what we could while also understanding that there are simply some limitations and that’s ok! Great wine and good people makes up for missing an extra underground wine cave here or there.
Excellent tour. Gispetti was very knowledgeable about wine and Spanish history. Both wineries were unique experiences. Our favorite was DI Nero with delicious tapas at both wineries. We had time to stop in a few small towns and enjoyed the countryside during the drive.
BOOK IT!! This is the perfect half day tour to get the countryside winery experience. Enrique was so kind and made sure our group was well taken care of. I had my 4 year old with us and one of the wineries had a kids area with a swing set and trampoline. Plus the owner gave my kid an adorable coloring set to occupy her during the tasting! Ample wine so, like they say, eat a good breakfast!! So much fun an an experience we will not forget.
My husband and I had a beautiful day with Enrique exploring two very special wineries where we got to personally meet the vineyard/winery owners and wine makers, at wineries that have been in the same family for multiple generations. We tasted a variety of wines and learned about the winemakers different processes. Enrique lives locally and is a winemaker himself, and he has a deep wealth of knowledge about the region and the areas wines. He has personal relationships with the winemakers so you get a behind the scenes feel for the culture of winemaking here. We also visited a Chinchon, a picturesque local village with a medieval history and bullfighting ring (temporarily erected, but about to come down so that the village could again use the square). Please note - this is NOT a big corporate company that outsources the tours to contracted guides. This is Enrique's own small business and passion - he runs a small, boutique, local business, so if you book this tour you not only get a very unique, personalized experience, you are also supporting a locally-owned and run business. I highly recommend!!!
Excellent tour. Enrique was a brilliant guide who’s passionate and knowledgeable about all areas of winemaking. Two very different but interesting vineyards. Loved it.
What an amazing experience! Correspondence prior to the trip with Enrique was excellent, and our guide on the day Antonio was fantastic. Both wineries were beautiful, and all 15 of us loved the experience.
Easy to get to pick up area.. excellent guide. Enjoyed the 2 wineries visited. Great walk through description of the wine making process Wine caves were an expected site. Wine tasting and tapas were very good. A wonderful way to spend our last day in Madrid. We high recommend this tour.
This wine tour was fantastic. Enrique was wonderful, friendly, and knowledgeable. Both wineries were beautiful and had very enjoyable wine. We were toured by the owners of both wineries and got first hand account of the wineries history. You could tell Enrique has a passion for Spanish wine and does a great job communicating that and getting you excited about it as well. Highly recommend.
The absolute BEST tour!!! Worth every penny! Quique (Enrique) was SO knowledgeable and friendly! Belen was also amazing! They both gave us so much education on wine making, the grapes, and the regions. I would’ve done the tour again if we had time. Thank you Quique and Belen!
Highly recommend this fantastic experience with Enrique. As a winemaker himself, he is uniquely qualified and all the information he shared with us was so helpful... whether pointing out things along the drive, like how olives were being harvested... or showing the sediment in bottles racked for maturing. Both wineries were wonderful and intimate experiences. The owner at the first winery had such a good sense of humor, always making jokes; it was too bad I couldn't understand everything, but you could appreciate that they were having a good time. Good wines and snacks to taste! The second winery was another great experience, with a dramatic opening of a sparkling wine bottle, and LOTS of snacks and wine after the official tasting. Enrique also shared tastes of his own wine and olive oil, both quite good. In fact, I bought a bottle of his olive oil, but unfortunately I must have left it in the van. :-(
Of all my tours during my vacation, this one was without a doubt the best. The tour guide, Enrique, knows about wines and gives during the tour some insides about the wine making, history and differences between different wines from Spain. Both wineries were great and we had an amazing time directly chatting with owners and the wine makers. Thanks for the tour, your time and olive oil (ask for it).
I think the itinerary was just nice with 2 vineyards. Well chosen for its unique traditional brewing process, and not only for the fantastic wines. The guide Enrique was knowledgeable, keen to explain and share his knowledge with us. No one in the group was left out and he personally explained certain things to me as vineyard owner spoke in Spanish. Wines were very good and atmosphere cheerful all the time. Hats off to Enrique and Wine Tour Madrid. I definitely will come back for more.
The tour was amazing the personalized experience and the selected wineries was a combination of uniqueness, good taste and beautiful landscapes
Enrique who owns and runs the tour is truly a caring and awesome tour guide! Amazing experience and great wine to boot Highly recommended… just book it!
Our guide, Enrique, was very informative about how wine is produced and very engaging. The two wineries we went to had excellent wines and were welcoming and explained their process. We would highly recommend this trip if you enjoy wine and would like to learn more about wine producing. Enrique was a wonderful host and so very friendly and we would join him again if we could spend more time in Madrid.
Enrique was a fantastic guide. Not only does he know everything about the wineries in the area, he also knows a lot about the areas we drove through.
Awesome experience! Enrique was an excellent and friendly tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and passionate about wine. We visited two different wineries on our trip and they were both charming and excellent in their own way. We tasted some delicious varieties of local wines and they were accompanied by tasty tapas. It was also very nice to leave the hustle and bustle of Madrid and see the surrounding countryside from the comfort of a nice and comfortable van. I would definitely do this tour again and hope that Enrique's own winery becomes part of his tour in the future. Definitely recommend! Thanks Enrique!
The best wine tour !! Both locations were amazing if not even magical . The warm welcome of Enrique our tour guide and the great hospitality and generosity of the wineries made the journey very memorable and enjoyable. The experience is must do , if you want to a sense of taste about the wine in Spain and the region itself.
I live in San Francisco California and visited Madrid with my mom in June. We found that Madrid's tourism traffic has skyrocketed compared to when we were last there in 2010. Although we still love Madrid we found the crowds to be a bit overwhelming, we were staying near Puerta Sol. We wanted an authentic experience so we decided to go to Toledo only to discover that the small quiet charming town now feels like you are trying to walk thru Disneyland. So I looked for other activities that would provide us with a less touristy experience and I thought that wine tasting in the country was worth the try. We were pleasantly surprised to learn that Enrinque the tour operator is a trained wine expert who also owns his own vineyard. He drove us in his shiny-brand-new Mercedes Benz minivan to the countryside and we toured two amazing wineries that were centuries old, the wine was delicious and surprisingly affordable! one of the wineries had a 3 story cave! the winery owners were welcoming and prepared delicious tapas for us. Overall our best experience in Madrid. I had been to Napa Valley a few weeks before this tour and I can tell you that this experience is worth every penny and minute. We did the half-day tour and will definitely do a full-day tour next time. Thank you Enrique for such an authentic experience full of Spanish wine knowledge. Nancy Robles
I was on a great wine tour with Enrique, with whom we visited 2 family wineries in Madrid region. It was very interesting to see the cellars and to learn about the wine culture, history and insider info of which I was completely unaware. I was also impressed by gigantic ceramic clay pots where wine is fermented and going down to a real cave where the wine is stored. The tour also included wine tasting so we tried various types accompanied with local snacks and had nice conversations with other people in our small international group. Our guide Enrique was very knowledgeable, friendly and kind. He is real expert in the wine world, and made his tour not only informative but fun - the atmosphere was very nice! Enrique also showed us a bit of a historic town with a square serving as a bullfighting arena and told us various curiosities about the region. I sincerely recommend Wine Tour Madrid with Enrique.
This is a wonderful excursion from Madrid into the nearby wine country. Enrique -- a vintner himself -- explains the wine making of the region and introduced us to two family owned producers that poured several wines and provided delicious tapas. It's a fun break from the city; it is an excellent experience.
Enrique was our tour guide. His plan was fabulous. He drove us to the wineries and small villages explaining everything about wine in Spain. It was amazing we learned so much. The vintners were great and the food wonderful. We highly re moment this particular tour. Don’t miss it! LeeAnn and Ken Stangl from California
What a great experience! Enrique was the perfect guide. He has a command of the region’s wines and the personal relationship with the vineyards we visited. The wine and pairings were perfect! A fun day out of Madrid.
We had an absolutely phenomenal time with Enrique! Enrique is clearly passionate and knowledgable about wine and wine making. This passion made him a fantastic tour guide as he was sharing all sorts of information from the moment he picked us up. Additionally, he shared so much history with us as well. History of wine, Spain and wines of Spain. Could not recommend this tour enough.
Enrique is the best guide. With both his deep knowledge of wine making, friendly attitude, and local knowledge, he made a good tour, great! The wine was amazing and I made friends along the way. Highly recommend.
One of the best wine tours I have ever done. Knowledgeable and approachable tour guide. Enrique is also a wine maker and knows very well his stuff. The wineries were amazing unique places and the wines were delicious. Don't miss it, highly recommended!!!!!!
I had a great experience during this wine tour in Madrid. Enrique is an extremely knowledgeable tour guide and a wine maker himself. I strongly recommend everyone to take this tour as a hole on the wall experience while in Madrid.
I had the pleasure to join a Madrid wine region tour with Enrique as a guide and it was amazing. Enrique is the best tour guide I ever had and he makes wine himself as he is graduated as a wine maker. The selection of wineries was top as we mixed centennial family ones with more modern ones.the was were delicious made with the super tasty Spanish grape Tempranillo and the white wines were made out of native Madrid varieties. The owners were our hosts and they have us a master class about Spanish wine history besides they gave us a very warm and welcoming. The size of the group was perfect to make it more intimate. Ir was so much with the money, definitely the best value tour in Madrid to get a real taste of Spain out of the beaten paths
Amazing trustable wine tour agency. Best choice to enjoy from a short wine day trip close to Madrid.Enrique the guide, winemaker himlsefl was a charming and knowledgeable guide. The best wine tour I have ever done and one of the highlight during my trip in Madrid
We went on a wine tour tour with Wine Tour Madrid having Enrique as a tour guide and it was amazing. The wineries we visited were unique, all the hosts were very welcoming and shared all their secrets about with making. I strongly recommend booking any of the tours with Wine Tour Madrid
Enrique makes this trip a great experience for all wine lovers. It doesn't matter if you are at a beginner's level, or you are a connoisseur: he will make everyone feel comfortable. This guy knows what he is talking about because he is not only certified, but also makes his own wine. He also brings to the table his knowledge of history and his passion for wine tourism. Expect a walk in the city of Chinchon, rustic bodegas, wine caves, wine tastings and tapas. There is good wine to buy and nice people to meet. Don't miss out!
Great value for money! Quique is a very knowledgeable, fun and great host guide. Excellent wines, tapas and history!! We were delighted. It is a good way to get to know Chinchòn, and wineries near Madrid.
It was an experience that I recommend, is to see the manufacture of the wines in their traditional form, harvest the grapes in an ecological and natural environment and preserve them in the ancient giant vats.
The tour experience was exceptional. Enrique is a knowledgeable and respectful, friendly and fun person. He knows how to accommodate each of your tastes during the tour so that you have an unforgettable experience. The La Mancha tour is excellent and I recommend that you visit the El Retorno restaurant with Enrique for an exceptional culinary experience. If you want to have a real experience of what Spain is like in its wines and food, Enrique is the best option. I can't wait to return to Spain and enjoy another of Enrique's Tours. I think this next time I'll go with one of several days. I will recommend it to my friends here in Puerto Rico.
The best experience we have had when visiting vineyards. The knowledge of the guide (Enrique) makes the experience much more interesting and valuable. The two vineyards are a “yesterday vs. today” in relation to preparation and styles when making wine. Enrique made the tour enjoyable and leaves us wanting more. Ask for the olive oil... to coat your fingers!!!
Excellent Tour. Highly recommended. Kike is an exceptional guide, knowledgeable about wines, very cordial and kind. We loved the wineries we visited and the entire journey. Thanks Kike!
Excellent tour, Enrique is a passionate and very friendly man. As you listen, he gives a lot of information and details on the vineyards and their production, the impacts of temperature and the different regions of Spain. Being a winemaker, he transmits this information in a very very interesting and professional way. We did the half day tour, and if we come back to the area, we will take the full day tour. I highly recommend Enrique and Wine tour Madrid.
The experience in the Tour is inexplicable. Kike was attentive to every detail from days before the tour, communication was exceptional. Once we started the road to the wineries we talked about everything a little and showed us vineyards as well as its history. Once at the Centennial Winery Jesus Diaz e Hijos we had the experience of tasting the wine directly from the barrel, Antonio explained every detail and took us on a magical tour through the caves where the wines rest. At the end we tasted several and of course, I bought my favorites. We also visited the Licinia Winery and Alba gave us a wonderful tour of the Winery, explained the whole process very sweetly and we could see if you magnify facilities, but, above all, get rich with the history of your wines. The visit ended with tasting several of his wines and obviously, me buying too. If you have the opportunity to visit Madrid and live this experience, you must do it, you will not regret it.
A good experience. Roberto, one of the owners, showed us the cellar and all its details. He's an excellent communicator. Also at the tasting he showed us how to make a good tasting. In short, it was a very pleasant and entertaining visit.
My favorite part of the tour was visiting the El Peral winery, the streets of the Colmenar de Oreja village, visiting the village of Chinchon, meeting its people and receiving historical information from Enrique. Also
We had a wonderful experience. We always had in mind to do this and what better to expect to get to Madrid. Enrique, always very friendly and attentive. We felt like family from the first moment. When I return to Madrid I have no doubt that we would contact Enrique again.
