The GoCity app was easy to use and book with. When booking through the app it lead me to AmigoTours or VPT to book attractions covered in the GoCity list of covered attractions. I have had previous experience with GetYourGuide as well. No specific issues with any of these companies. The Royal Palace tour was cancelled last min by the royals/government for some 3 day event which apparently happens intermittently. We saw a very long line of people waiting to buy tickets to go in and there were no signs indicating that the palace was closed. Confusing! We attempted to rebook but could not fit it into our schedule after the palace was reopened.

Amigo Tours cancelled my tour 48 hrs before the event. They offered a replacement 5 days later. Unacceptable. They offered the entrance without a guide. I accepted but they couldn't get me a ticket. I booked 5 months in advance. Go City won't accept any responsibility for the cancellation. Don't buy GoCity Madrid. All their advertising is based on big tickets. They require advanced booking but won't accept any responsibility.
Horrible - most addresses were wrong, they didn’t know what GoCity was, even while showing them the app. Bookings were required (even for some museums) which is ridiculous during vacation to know where you will be at a certain time. Was not worth the money at all and regret this purchase.
Enjoyed the options however some activities were not available, it appeared to have limited times. The big bus city tour appeared to have one bus per route and it took a long time to get another one. I tried to buy the one in Barcelona but all the Sagrada Família were booked so I did not buy. I would expend options thank you 4/5
Of the 3 attractions we picked, one was canceled, another the day was changed and the third we had a first time guide. Our guide at the Royal Palace was Gigi, and she was very good. The new one did ok, but rushed us through.
Our tour guide Clara was absolutely amazing! Beyond her enchanting Spanish accent, she was so incredible and knowledgeable about all the paintings and the history of each artist. It always makes these types of visits so much easier when the children can stay engaged with a guide and Clara was so patient and engaging with the kids. She encouraged them to ask questions and quizzed them throughout the tour. Definitely an A+ experience!
This visit was à total success due to our great guide who were very knowledgable. And her english was very easy to understand. A great visit.
We had a tour guide called Jose(JJ) who was incredibly knowledgeable and informative on art history. He was very dynamic and interactive. This was my first guided art history tour and it was amazing. Would highly recommend.
Very disappointing experience with the Go City Madrid city pass. We booked two main activities for one specific day that we were in Madrid, but on the day itself both were suddenly cancelled. Since we were only for one day in Madrid, we couldn’t reschedule anything. It’s also very difficult to see in advance what you can actually book. You first have to purchase the pass before gaining full access to many of the available activities. On top of that, many attractions require booking at least 24 hours in advance or are only available on specific days. By the time we found out our original activities were cancelled, there were no real alternative options left for us. What made it worse was the lack of responsibility. You would expect a refund in some way, but the activity providers told us to contact Go City, and Go City told us to contact the providers. In the end, there was no solution at all. I have the feeling this is their business model. We paid a lot of money for that day expecting to enjoy multiple activities, but ended up doing nothing. Definitely not recommended.
What an awesome, fun, and very knowledgeable tour!
The tour went well, Javier was a great guide! The only issue I take with this company, we had a different tour earlier that day for which we were running late. They went on without us as scheduled which is completely understandable. They declined to make other accommodations for a different tour, still fine I guess. On the tour we actually went on, the guide was 20 minutes late and we were all just waiting for him outside in the rain. The irony of it all makes how they handled us that same morning distasteful
As someone who’s not really “artsy” I found this super interesting and it was thanks to our guide. He explained things clearly and made it interesting and actually taught me a lot.
Constas was knowledgeable and welcoming not just as a guide but also as a host. His warmth and engagement made the whole experience memorable and fun. We got to see the Spanish masters and its history. Thank you once again and hope to see you again soon ❤️.
The tour guide was excellent. It was very good tour. I will recommend this tour in Madrid :)
The tour guide JJ was exceptional at his job, very passionate about the history and art of the Prado Museum and Spain. I would highly recommend it for all tourists, no matter the historical knowledge of the individual. The tour is a "quick" 2 hour guide, but gets you hooked up for more which you can experience at your own pace. Note: photographing is forbidden, but no worries, it's better to experience the art AJ
The guide is very professional and funny. I have learned new important informations about the operas of Goya, Velasquez and other artists
Everything went smoothly, and the guide was adorable. He took something relatively boring and turned it into and adventure. Kudos
It was very easy to redeem. We chose a wine tour, toledo and segovia (full day trip) and Escorial and Valley of the falled tour. But the wine tour was cancel due to not enough people. The company rebook us to a Segovia. Toledo and Avila tour. Jose was out guide. He was very friendy and knowledgeable. The only part that I didn't like was the restaurant that the recommended, food wasn't good. For a 3 city tour, I did feel that was a little rush. We did not have much time to explore the town. We only did the walk through to the town and especially in Avila. The only things we did was went to the restaurant( they recommended/chosen for us) to eat. I would much rather walk though the town and get a sandwich or something. If people would like to spend more time on thier own, I would suggest booking a tour with only 2 city instead of 3 city. The third tour that we took was only two city (Toledo and Segovia) which was great. We have about 1 hours and 15 mins free time to explore the town in Toledo and about 1 hours free time in Segovia. Laurena was our guide. She was very nice and knowledgeable. We did have enough time to explore the town in toledo and segovia. I would highly recommend the city pass.
Horrible experience with contracted vendors cancelling reservations at the last minute after booking weeks in advance including the royal palace and the prado while others were still offering tours. Abysmal customer service, took no responsibility. Do not recommend. This company is awful
Our tour guide, Fluer, was very knowledgeable and friendly. It was an informative guided tour, however, we were unaware it would be focused on the Cubism movement and not a broader overview of pieces in the museum. In that way, it was a little disappointing, in that we did not get background on the “highlights”, although we had plenty of time to walk around on our own.
The trip was for a full day so it feels long but it is entertaining. Both of our tour guides had good personalities. However the primary speaker on the tour parroted thru the entire narration which made it very difficult to understand and left us no time to comprehend or retain the information he was sharing. That is a huge delta which makes it a rather disappointing experience for tourists wanting to know about the history of these two iconic cities.
The two Javiers, Jj and J are both very personable and knowledgable! They created a very fun experience for me and my sister
The pass is overall a good value with a few disappointments: 1. No entrance for self guided tour at Prado to allow more flexibility as the tour time is very limited. 2. We didn’t get a chance to use the pass for Royal Palace due to official event closure. 3. Using the pass for Segovia/Toledo tour does not cover any entrance ticket, which made us look very different from the rest of the tour group, even if Amigo Tours guide was very friendly and handled the situation well.
Terrible experience with Go Citvcvvy Madrid Pass. I bought this and made reservations, planned my itinerary. But Go City Madrid partnered (Amigo Tours - Royal Palace Madrid Tour, Naturanda - Alcala Henarez wine tour ) cancelled the event last minute. I was not able to rebook due to last minute cancellation of my itinerary. Go City does not take any responsibility if their partnered party cancelled at the last minute. Overall terrible experience with Go City Madrid Pass.
Great introduction to the museum and a selection of the important pieces. Very approachable and knowledgeable guide JJ who brought the paintings to life.
Go City is a "bait and switch" operation. You pay to access a bundle of venues and in theory pick and choose what you want to visit. Go City however takes no responsibility for the actions of its vendors, its agents even though you are PAYING Go City for access. So you may make a reservation of a unique venue such as the Royal Palace or the Prado, both unique places to visit and Go City's vendor can cancel your reservations made weeks or months before without recourse at the last minute. What this means in my experience is that you end up shelling out $150 or more to visit unique places which other tour companies are servicing in my situation by using VIATOR. VIATOR stands behind its customers and willingly arranges refunds cancellations. Go City is unreliable has abysmal customer service and should be avoided as a scam.
Kostas was very informative and friendly. Made experience enjoyable and educational at both sites as he was very knowledgeable of the works of art.
We had a very knowledgeable guide and learned a lot while visiting the Prado. It would have been nice to have spent more time in the museum; however, we had another tour scheduled.
About the All-Inclusive GoCity pass: it's not worth it. You get about 20% discount compared to official price, but some attractions treat you like you're 2nd class. For instance at the start of the trip with Amigo tours their office would tell me they can't scan my GoCity passes, so I should do it myself (??!!!) Basically I was the first to arrive at the bus and the last to get on because of having to work things out with GoCity and Amigo tours. Another important detail: Amigo tours takes the details of your credit card in order to charge you a penalty of €25/ each if you don't show up. Basically a lot of unnecessary stress when you're on holiday. GoCity include lots of included attractions, but you can't humanly do too many per day. On the other hand: Jose Luis was a great guide, looking after everybody and giving great and informed presentations of the places visited. Very good sense of humour as well. Anthony in Toledo was also great and helpful. We also thank the driver Sergio, the road seemed quite tricky and dangerous many times, especially in Toledo. Great tour, thank you!
Borja was an amazing tour guide!! Super funny, informative, and engaging. It was a super interactive tour and we enjoyed every moment
Quick and guided access. Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and available for any needs. Recommended for a visit that helps you understand the context and the works on display. Excellent experience.
This experience has been amazing. I appreciated how the guide explained the history of Toledo and Segovia. Honestly, the only downside was that I wish we’d had a bit more time to take photos and pick up some souvenirs.
The tour guide with Rocio was simply amazing! She told amazing, vivid historical stories about the Royal Palace and was super funny! Had a great experience with Amigos Tours 👍👍
I booked the tour with amigotours via my Go City All Inclusive Card. The tour was postponed by Amigotours on short notice. The day before it was supposed to start. I never confirmed the new schedule, since it didnt work for me. I tried to make it work, but there was no way. Atlhough I never confirmed in the first place, I took the time to inform Amigotours via email and via whatsapp where they had been texting me. I did never receive any reply. Nevertheless Amigours charged my credit card with 20.50 Euros for not showing up. I contacted Amigo tours another time. Again I did not receive any reply. This has been weeks ago. I also contacted Go City Tours about it. They promised me to resolve and that they sent an E-mail to Amigo Tours on June 27th 2025. As of today (July 15th 2025) Go City has not received a reply by Amigo tours as well.
Tour Gide did a great job of explaining the tour without being dramatic like some of our tours in the past, fake drama I find annoying :-)
Great tour that you must do while here in central Spain. Our tour guide, Khan was excellent. He was very knowledgeable and witty. Highly recommend him to tour with.
Excellent trip and very informative tour guides. They shared the history of both cities with great proficiency. The views in Toledo were exceptional and the Roman aqueduct in Segovia was a sight to marvel.
This was very convenient for us to use for 2 of the days we were in Madrid. My only complaint was that we did the tour of the royal palace which had us meet in some square near a statue to start which is fine. However the map link on the go city app brings you to the palace. Not the meeting spot. Otherwise we loved everything we got to see.
Our guide Lorena was knowledgeable and provided great insight into many works. The tour was a good length for our kids attention span, but then we were able to visit on our own too
Very interesting tourist around the Palace this morning. Knowledgeable answers helpful tour guide. Would recommend to tourists.
I have used GoCity before, for Chicago and L.A. and had great experiences both times, as a family of four. This time, we traveled with extended family to Madrid and even though we had a great time and it does save money, the way to use the pass in this city was very different. Nearly all the atractions have to be booked in advance, and the tour company that provides the majority of the tours (Amigo Tours) did not have enough space for our group size (11), so it took me several weeks of international calls, planning, and booking and cancelling several times to use the pass and actually take advantage of it. We took the Toledo tour (8/10 bcs of our guide), Tablao (10/10), Escorial (10/10), Palacio Real (0/10) (we had to book 3 different dates to split the group... and in the end all the tours were cancelled during our stay, but this was not the agency's fault), Museo del Prado (10/10). Parque del Retiro (9/10) and Big Bus Tour (8/10 because now in Madrid Hop On -Hop Off are NOT allowed so they give you a full ride and that's it, but great guides though). I want to think that all this is because Madrid is really overflowed with tourists, but the experience of having to book everything in advance and not having availability took me a lot of time and money just to plan. Overall, I would definitely use GoCity Pass again, but NOT for groups of more than 4 o 5 people.
I would give GoCity 0 stars if I could! What a disaster. I bought 2 adult and 1 child pass. I booked attractions ahead of time so they wouldn’t be sold out for the times we needed. One of the venues marked the pass as “used” when they booked it, so after 3 days (it was a 3 day pass), it expired and was no longer valid. I didn’t realize this until 3 days before we arrived in Madrid. After mutliple emails with GoCity, I got absolutely nowhere. Since the pass was invalid, the venues cancelled our reservations for all the passes. At that point, I couldn’t even re-book because everything was sold out. So, we weren’t able to use our passes at all and GoCity customer service has been horrendous. They refuse to refund my passes since 2 of them are still valid, but we have zero plans to return to Madrid. I will never use GoCity again and highly recommend staying FAR away!!!
This is a total SCAM! Royal Palace, Prado, Reina Sofia - you can visit it only with tourist guy but there is a little chance to make a reservation for the tour!! It’s better to buy ticket by your own!! I used that card many times in other city (for example London, Vienna) and this is the firist time that I fell cheated! Dont spoil your visit in Madrid and do NOT buy it! SCAM ALERT!
GoCity pass is a complete scam! I organized a trip to Madrid for my 10th wedding anniversary and I bought 2pc 3-day ALL-inclusive GoCity pass and my wife and I can't enter the most famous attractions of Madrid. GoCity pass by advertising that it gives access to 25 attractions of Madrid, but it turns out that it only gives access if there are free places for the guided tour. It turns out that I can't visit them because there are no free places for the guided tour, and without a guide, the attractions won't let me in and tell me that I have to buy a ticket. Since I bought the GoCity Passes, I have been trying to book a tour for most of the attractions. By some chance, I managed to book a tour of the Royal Palace, a day trip to Toledo and Segovia, a Flamenco show. I went to the Wax Museum and that was it. Since I bought the GoCity Passes, I have been trying to book a guided tour or tickets for the Prado Museum, Reina Sofía Museum, Cibeles Palace, Bernabéu Stadium, and there is no option for an English tour. I tried to enter the Prado Museum without a tour and they wouldn't let me in. I tried to book an entrance to the Bernabeu stadium over the phone and no one spoke English. I wrote to the email address provided by the mobile app of GoCity pass for the Bernabeu Stadium and they said I had to buy a ticket. I can't understand why I'm paying for a GoCity pass, there are no free places for the guided tours, and it's impossible to enter for free without a guide. This is crazy and a pure scam. You sell me visits to attractions, and I visited them because there are no places. Everywhere I have been and used similar GoCity pass cards, we have visited the attractions without any problems, skipping the lines and at a time that was convenient for us. I have always bought a similar card with access to as many attractions as possible to save me time buying tickets and waiting in lines. And in this case, visiting Madrid and buying the GoCity pass, I lost at least 5 hours of my stay in Madrid, trying to make registrations and phone calls for attractions where it is impossible to do so because there are no free places. The point of this type of attraction packages like the GoCity pass is for tourists like us to visit the attractions we want the most, and those where there are free places, as if I were participating in some kind of lottery. Imagine if you were on a trip with friends and there were 4-6 people in total. There is no chance you could reserve that many seats and visit the attractions together. I'm extremely disappointed with the overall experience and the real scam of the GoCity pass. I wasted 10 hours trying to plan. I bought a GoCity pass that gives access to 25 attractions in Madrid, wasted many hours to book reservations for attractions in Madrid, and in the end it turns out I can only visit 4. My wife's surprise for our 10th anniversary failed. I am shocked by the experience of the GoCity pass. I am simply shocked, how is it possible to sell a GoCity pass and advertise visits to up to 25 attractions, and then it turns out that there will be no places and I will visit. It is good that the hotel did not do what you did, sell me a room, and when I come to Madrid, I find out that there are no free rooms.
We got such a deal that... to quote one of the tour guide on our six hour countryside wine tour, "I really don't know how they make any money." Meaning, we did a number of day trips (Segovia, Avila, El Escorial, Valley of the Fallen, Toledo, and a wine tour) and saw five sites in Madrid (city walking/bus tour, Prado Museum, the Palace, the Bullring, and a Flamenco Dance dinner with tapas and drinks) all for the price of a single day trip with any other company. With such a deal, we were able to tour Madrid for a week for less money than a weekend in NYC. I also appreciated how many times any tour extras were included (church tours, audio guides, etc.). The reservations were easy (usually a simple email), and the QR code always worked. I can't imagine doing Madrid any other way.
The pass ended up saving us a fair amount of money, and we were ultimately able to see a lot of great sites, but the independent touring companies with whom you end up booking the reservations were not great to work with and Go City had no way to help. Two of the tours were originally confirmed, and other reservations were arranged around them, then they were cancelled and changed to days that we couldn't accommodate. We did a little juggling and ended up getting to reschedule them, so that ended up working out but was stressful. The other issue was that Go City evidently cancelled the flamenco/tapas show and dinner so when we got to the restaurant we were disappointed and couldn't enjoy that part of the pass.
I learned never will do go pass again Even if they claimed I saved, had to use amigo tours, make advance ⁰reservations, they cancelled my whole schedule, had to do 2tours 2 hours apart, had to leave 1 tour with 30 minutes to go,catch uber across town make royal castle by 1 minute. My wife stayed for other tour, missed this got charged,we had fight over this Also other tour by another company cancelled even if they had required 2 pp for tour, Flamingo show food was bad Keep away will ruin your day Buy tickets day of tour will save your mind at end Go will respond to this review to say call talk to us privately we will settle this, but that's standard policy to not hurt reputation, will offer 10 percent for ever, say final day,all a lie
DO NOT BUY! I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience with Go City Pass in Madrid. Having previously used their services in Paris, I was expecting the same level of quality and support. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Firstly, the customer service was appalling. Despite multiple attempts to get a clear answer about museum entries and the necessity of booking tours, I was met with vague responses and repetitive questions about my order number, which I had provided multiple times. The agent, Mairithonbou, was unable to resolve my issues and seemed more interested in ending the chat than providing a solution. The main problem was the inability to book tours at several attractions due to lack of availability. I specifically asked if my pass would still grant me entry to museums without a booked tour and was given inconsistent answers. It was only after much back-and-forth that I was told entry without a booking was not possible, even though the tours were fully booked. To make matters worse, the refund policy is completely unreasonable. I requested a partial refund since many of the activities I planned to book were unavailable. Despite explaining that the only activity I could use was the hop-on/hop-off bus, I was told that no refund could be issued because the pass was activated. This left me unable to reallocate funds to other activities or attractions in Madrid. Additionally, some of the attractions listed, such as the Flamenco show, were closed for construction, which was not disclosed before purchase. When I requested to speak with a supervisor, I was repeatedly told none were available. This level of service is unacceptable, especially when customers have spent a considerable amount of money on these passes. Given this experience, we have reconsidered our decision to purchase a Go City Pass for Barcelona next week and will no longer be doing so. The lack of support and inflexible policies have left a sour taste and significant inconvenience during our trip. I urge potential customers to be wary and consider alternative options before purchasing a Go City Pass.
I am terribly disappointed with the all inclusive madrid pass. I paid 233 euros for 3 days for two people. when we showed up at the booked time of the water tour, the code did not work. they walked us from the entrance to the ticket office several times. I immediately tried to call the contact in the app, but no one answered. I sent them a message through the app that I had a problem. they answered me only when I had already left Madrid. when I sent them a message of protest, they blocked me from sending further messages. I basically threw 233 euros to the wind. we booked one more attraction through the app..just one..and it worked perfectly.
We were in Madrid for 7 days. We have used London and New York passes and they were fabulous so we gave this a go We were wanting to see the royal palace , Toledo, Segovia , el Escorial and flamenco on the pass Our palace tour got cancelled but no refund for us because it was through the pass The el Escorial trip was a joke (see separate review for that) Toledo and Segovia were amazing places but we should have booked two separate tours versus all in one day The flamenco was great but again could be booked separately There was nothing else of interest on the pass for us
