A show for tourists. The performers certainly know how to move… but the staging, with its screens and lighting effects, doesn’t do justice to traditional flamenco. The soul of flamenco is lost. The auditorium is very long, and if you’re seated from the fourth row onwards, you can no longer see the stage.
Great show with tapas including! Very talented dancers. Food and drink was delicious. If you have an opportunity to see I would definitely recommend.
The music, the dancing. It was all amazing. I have always wanted to see a flamenco show and this show was not disappointing
The Show was amazing. I can't say enough. Thoroughly enjoyed. Was way more than we expected. Highly recommend.
Very touristy and commercial
First time visiting Madrid and a Flamenco performance was at the top of the list for me. Saw the great reviews and it was located close to where I was staying so I went. The performance space is located in an underground grotto of a wonderful Spanish restaurant--which was perfect for what was to come! The opening dance immediately commanded attention with its sharp, fluid movements and dramatic lighting. What followed was pure magic. A combination of instrumental and dance pieces were incredible. Dancers displayed remarkable control, with moments of high-energy balanced by delicate yet mastery of their craft. The costumes design—simple, flowing linen—allowed the dancers' technical lines to be the focal point, emphasizing the natural, raw emotion. I was literally brought to tears at one point. The entire troupe delivered a deeply moving and technically proficient show. Triple stars for the music, lighting and overall atmosphere.
We had a great time. The staff was very friendly. The performers really gave their all. I was very pleased with everything and the restaurant above is also a must.
Very pleasant and good entertainment show for small group. Recommend to everyone for small price....
This is not authentic flamenco as you can see in andalusia and other parts of spain. My first clue was the male dancer’s name in flame letters on a flaming screen behind him when he danced. “Dinner” was poor quality and the included drinks are sugar water. I ordered a cocktail and was told it was extra. Anticipated that it would cost the difference between stated price and the included drink, but was told no. The cocktail had no alcohol in it and was of poor quality. Save your money.
I absolutely enjoyed the flamenco show at Tablao La Carmela. The performance was a beautifully arranged display of passion, rhythm, and raw emotion. The choreography was captivating, especially the powerful presence of the lady dancer and a male dancer named Juan. Juan was an absolute star—his charisma and energy were magnetic and unforgettable. No offense to the stunning lady dancer, who was equally talented, but Juan truly stole the show and took my heart! We were served one complimentary drink, which was a nice touch, though food came at an additional cost. The only downside was our seating. We were a bit too far from the stage, which made it harder to fully absorb the intensity and details of the performance. If you’re planning to visit, I highly recommend paying extra for a front-row seat—it's worth it to fully experience the emotions and artistry up close.
Very professional flamenco performances with a female and 2 male dancers, singers and guitar players. I’ve never experienced such theatrical male flamenco performers. The performance was very powerful and the musicians and singers were outstanding throughout the ups and downs and in sync with one another. The woman was excellent with her shawl and fan and so polished. The percussion cajon player was amazing. It was all outstanding and I didn’t want it to end.
The Flamemco show was fair, you get what you pay for. However, I would not recommend female solo travelers. The personnel overcharged me for the food I ordered more than 20€. The server stated that it was a seasonal price, however they did not advised at any point. They give you the menu with old prices. So to me that was unethical and dishonest. The quality of their food is not good at all so do not waste your time and money…. I trust Tripadvisor and Viator for tours and activities, this is the first time I purchase tickets and feel disappointed.
Fantastic performance! We had a great time. Great environment! Everyone from the singers, to the guitarists and drummer were talented. The dancers were passionate and incredible!
the place was kinda small.. like a cave... not good sight lines..... had to swivel head alot .... I'm very tall so small seats not comfy.....I like more dancing and less drama....
Such a fun show, very well performed by artist who are passionate about the dance. The show as well put together and the small venue felt like if you are part of the show.
I loved the show, they received us as VIP. attention was great.I just want to suggest be careful at the time to select of the show, keep in mind that is a show for families with children. The last part was basically a gay romance.
First- for anyone wanting to see a Flamenco show - BOOK in advance. This was one of the last shows available for us and we booked about 3 weeks early. It is a small venue in the basement of a restaurant with about 6 two person tables along the wall with an aisle down the center. it was an interesting venue with brick curved ceiling. It is not a large space so the dancing was confined to the small stage and a small circle platform in the middle of the two rows of tables. We ordered the smash burgers, which were very good. You have to pay for food. The ticket included one drink. There were three dancers, 2 female and 1 male. Their performances were intense and captured your attention. I was expecting some partner dancing. Even the video they displayed while waiting for the show to start included snippets of a couple dancing, but we didn’t see that. Overall I thought it was entertaining and interesting to watch. It was not a long show.
The show was very entertaining, food was absolutely delicious and drinks were pretty strong. We had a lovely night, celebrating our anniversary.
Good table ,excellent show ,good pre show experience. The sales man that sold our tickets was very honest and what he told us is what we got. Would recommend to anyone.
We went to the Flamenco show yesterday; it's like a cave in a basement. The show and the service were very good. However, we went up to the restaurant to eat and the staff's service was terrible, the service was very bad. The food was fine.
Very intimate show, I went for my partner and in the end it felt too short to me
I lived a beautiful experience with excellent teachers of flamenco voice and guitar! Cute artists who gave an unforgettable show delicious food! Unique flamenco experience in MADRID!
The flamenco show takes place in a hose-like narrow basement. On the sides is a table with two chairs. A table is right outside the emergency exit - have we learned nothing from the disaster in Switzerland in a basement bar? The lighting is far too dark for the completely black stage and the dark basement. Since the air is dry, moisture is provided with mist. This makes the view of the stage even worse. The flamenco dancers and musicians are good, so are the acoustics. So we could at least hear and guess what was happening on stage.
Good show to see good all
The tour I joined in the afternoon was delayed, so I asked for a change to a later time than the one I booked and they were happy to accept. It gave me extra time to go to the store and watch the amazing show. I enjoyed flamenco for the first time. The staff at the shop was very pleasant.
The dancer was very impressive; the musicians/singers played well. The artificially amplified acoustics with effects were borderline: The artificial reverb effect has reduced the intelligibility and authenticity of the music/singing; "pure" music/singinging (= without artificial effects) would be desirable. Meals can also be taken, but it is advisable to arrive some time beforehand.
Wonderful Flemish experience. Thanks to Tali Rico we enjoy an unforgettable show with Antonio Canales, Remedios Amaya and Juan Andrés Maya. Ten.
10 points, the Mood, the quality of the artists, the place, the attention and more, made it a show to recommend to anyone who wants to enjoy an exclusive event, in the heart of Madrid.
Must see! I have been a lot of times and I have always been very excited, the Flamenco in Ramallah is with a very special and special, all the dancers are virtuous and the choreographer Maya is the main dancer. Don't miss. Enjoy every moment.
Just a nice experience..local nice and well organized..top dancers..and singers full of feeling.....
After making two reservations on different dates, both were unilaterally cancelled by them, with vague excuses about "internal communication problems". No real apology. No compensation. Not an alternative. Nothing. Just last minute cancellations and a complete disregard for the injury caused. We are talking about an establishment that is not even able to manage its agenda or coordinate with its own employees, and yet still offers reservations to the public. For what? To cancel them whenever you feel like it? A tablao that despises its customers’ time, that leaves people lying around twice in a row without coming forward, deserves not a minute of attention or a penny from anyone. If you are thinking of living a flamenco night in Madrid, avoid La Carmela at all costs. There are places with much more art, respect and dignity than this.
Cute show, but I thought there were more women dancing, instead he did almost all one dancer, bravo.
exceptionnel! les artistes fabuleux et l'endroit et vraiment beau, on était bien pris en charge, le spectacle a commencé l'heure, la salle était bien, le son et les lumières spectaculaires.
Molto coinvolgente curato nei dettagli stimolante emozionante affidabile serio professionale eccitante
Well feeling very much for me and my two friends the worst we ever saw, there is no quality show is weird have to improve everything, dancers try little I have seen several flamingos in Madrid and this is the one that I am disappointed, I saw another that I did not like too much but the entrance cost 24 and aki the entrance enzyme costs 45 and, I hope they improve e The cave is very cool and sound is very good
Spettacolo bellissimo. Sia i ballerini che i cantanti sono bravissimi. Il posto è caratteristico. Il cibo molto buono e il personale gentilissimo. Lo consigliamo
We went by chance and it surprised us. Good service, abundant dishes, good quality/price ratio. Very pleasant and professional waiters. We will return.
It's an intimate, well-designed and wonderful underground flamenco venue for a night out in Madrid. The flamenco musicians and dancers were captivating in their passionate performances. The venue's acoustics and sound system were clearly designed to impress the viewer. We felt completely immersed in the powerful and poetic experience. Giacomo Venditti
