The tour was amazing. We had so much fun and saw many amazing things. Mateo was a great tour guide. I would highly recommend to anyone who was visiting Madrid. The highlight of our trip.

Itinerary
Check in at our office in central Madrid 15 minutes in advance of your tour. Leave the city towards Segovia aboard one of our air-conditioned coaches. Our first stop will be in the city of Segovia. Upon arrival, we will be divided into different groups. If you have chosen “Full day Tour on your own”, you will enjoy approximately three hours of free time to visit the city on your own. If you have chosen the “Guided tour with monuments”, you will have access to the Alcázar of Segovia, where you will enjoy a guided tour while you marvel at its spectacular fortification. Did you know that its architecture inspired Walt Disney for one of his films? Can you tell us which one?
Walk through the old Jewish quarter of the city and visit the exterior of the Cathedral. Those who have the gastronomic lunch included will head to the restaurant; to enjoy a typical local menu with roast suckling pig that will not leave you indifferent.
After visiting Segovia, we will continue our tour to Avila, one of the best-preserved fortified cities in Spain. If you have chosen the option “Full day Tour on your own” you will enjoy the city at your own pace. This option includes admission to the city walls, so you can visit them on your own during your stay.
The rest of the group will follow the guide on a guided tour of the old town to discover the city's impressive history. See Romanesque churches, Gothic palaces and a fortified cathedral from the middle Ages. Visit the walls of Avila as you imagine the stories they have seen through the centuries. Marvel at the fortification and towers, declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Our tour guide, Irene, was very good!
Both Avila and segovia were great.. Our tour guide was very helpful and friendly
Excellent experience. Wonderful Segovia n Alcazar. Miss Mariana madam guided us very well. She was very cooperative n understanding.
Mate exceeded expectations. He tailored the pace to our group and shared fascinating stories that we wouldn't have discovered on our own. Punctual, polite, and very well-organized
Good option if you're short on time, you spend 3 hours in Segovia and 1 hour in Ávila seeing the key landmarks. That said, it feels very rushed and isn't enough time to truly explore. I'd recommend going by train or renting a car for the full day to get the complete Segovia experience.
Big day but great to have a guide. We were the only English speaking in a big group of Spanish speaking but our guide tried hard to include us as much as possible and explain the majority whilst walking around.
Matteo is the best! Great tour and guide.
Disappointing tour as we were told we were on an English speaking tour and ended up with a majority of Spanish speaking people. Tour guide spoke predominantly Spanish and was difficult to understand when she did speak English. Ended up leaving the guided tour and doing our own. Segovia is beautiful and well worth a visit just not with Julia Travel.
Knowledgeable guide. Fast pace. We chose to do lunch on our own, then realized the timing was before many restaurants opened their kitchens, so hurried to get something simple to rejoin the group on time to find the group lunch ran 20 minutes late. So I’d recommend doing the group lunch. It’s a lot to see in one day. You might consider a day trip on your own to each of you have time- then you can move at your more comfortable pace.
Our day trip to Segovia from Madrid was an absolutely excellent experience from start to finish! The journey was incredibly smooth and stress-free, thanks to our driver, Manuel, who provided a highly comfortable ride. Once we arrived, our guide, Mateo, was fantastic and incredibly friendly, welcoming, and highly knowledgeable. The tour itself was deeply educational and packed with history. Standing in front of the unbelievable Roman Aqueduct was a true highlight. It is an absolute marvel of engineering built over 2,000 years ago, and we were fascinated to learn that it actually remained operational until 1973. We also loved exploring the stunning castle (Alcázar), which holds centuries of rich history. Another major highlight was the Cathedral, situated right in the middle of this charming, historic town. It is filled with a vast amount of history and culture, echoing stories of passion, love, hate, and mystery at every corner. If you are visiting Madrid, Segovia is a must-visit destination. It is just a short, one-hour bus ride away. You definitely won’t regret making the trip. We definitely recommend this tour, and thank Mateo, and Manuel for the experience provoded!
Mateo, nice guide, super funny, very professional
We booked through Julia Travel and our guide for the day was Sylvia. She was energetic spoke Spanish and English and knew her history pretty well. She took the time to answer all questions in both languages, very professional. Gracias Sylvia.
Our guide Mariana made it a great experience. She is bilingual and accommodated both English and Spanish guests. She provided a lot of information about both spots and made sure we had time for bathroom breaks, lunch, and souvenirs.
Maria was very knowledgeable. She was also really funny. If you are okay with walking and going up quite a bit of stairs this tour is for you. We also did the lunch combo, soup and dessert was tasty. You get their delicacy dish suckling pig.
We had a fantastic day visiting Segovia and Avila! Our tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly, she spoke both Spanish and English and did a fantastic job! Check in at Jula Travel was easy, and had clean restrooms before taking off right at the scheduled departure time. The bus was comfortable and air conditioned, and everyone in my group of six enjoyed everything about the day!
Mariana was a wonderful guide, very knowledgeable and made the visit to both cities very interesting and informative.
The tour was great. The driver Franklin was really good . We felt safe the tour Guide Mateo was really good. He explained everything really good, was very friendly. The bus was very comfortable, ac and a smooth drive.
Very tiring but it’s all worth it . The ancient architectural design concept was now on the 21st adaptation with modern ideas very excellent all of them was preserved perfectly 👍👍👍
Loved Segovia- absolutely incredible day trip Well worth money. Guide Tina was excellent . She was knowledgeable and our photos are amazing
Very good tour to Avila and Segovia. Mateo is very kind, professional, and knowledgeable.
This was a great trip to take our kids out of Madrid to see Segovia and Avila. We enjoyed touring the cities and hearing some of the history. The pacing was perfect and Mateo did a very nice job of giving the information in both Spanish and English. The bus ride was also comfortable and cool.
We had a great time, Segovia and Avila are beautiful. The guide was great, the tour is well thought out. The transportation was very comfortable.
Segovia tour by myself was fine, offered to join with the tour guide, stayed only partially. However Avila with Walls, didn't get to go to the Walls until there were 20 minutes or so left when I thought I'd get 2-3 hours to go on top and surrounding perimeter. Mateo a great guide but Avila with Walls I was disappointed. If you go full tour by yourself, remember to ask early at the meeting point and not waste 30 minutes at the coffee restaurant that you could be running on the walls or out of.
The experience was AMAZING! The places are perfect. I was surprised with the Segovia and Avila. The views are perfect.
We had a short stay in Madrid with teenagers who didn’t want a ‘long’ tour. We convinced them it would be worth it and it was! Coach was smooth with valued A/C! Guide was great. Sites were interesting and unique.
Winderful !!! The Ávila and Segovia are magnificent, our tour guidr Mateo is very kind and knowledgeable, the food in Segovia delicious
We had an excellent tour with our very knowledgeable and friendly guide Mariana!!!!
My favorite day trip from Madrid. The time in Ávila and Segovia was just right—not too little, not too much. Lunch was served around noon (unlike other tours that didn’t eat until 3 p.m.). We paid for the pre-ordered meal, which was served quickly, leaving more time for sightseeing. A highlight was the traditional plate-cutting ceremony for the cochinillo in Segovia. It may not be the most famous restaurant, but it beats wandering around looking for a place to eat. The guide was knowledgeable, and the bus had good A/C. There’s no hotel pickup, so you’ll need to walk to the tour office, which seems common in Spain. If you’re visiting Ávila in summer, bring an umbrella—it has very little shade and gets extremely hot. Recommended.
Our day out to Segovia & Avila was wonderful Both towns have so much history and our guide Mateo was knowledgeable and really friendly and gave us so much information We were on a Spanish & English tour and he managed to guide us in both languages perfectly Highly recommend this tour
Great tour. Learned a lot. Avila is amazing and is a must see when you go to Spain. Use Julia Travel
Great full-day tour of Segovia and Avila and the surrounding area. It’s definitely a long day with multiple stops, so be prepared for a full itinerary, but you learn a lot and get to see so much. Mateo was an excellent guide, very responsive, knowledgeable, and kept everything running smoothly throughout the day. We chose the lunch option and enjoyed it; the restaurant was nice and the suckling pig was a fun local specialty to try. The tour was conducted in both Spanish and English. It was a great way to see a lot and learn more about the area in one day.
It would have been perfect except for the heat of the summer. Not really the tour’s fsult. The bus was cool, thank luck. Mateo, our guide was great. He explained all the significance of the sites. Great tour!
First we had to wait 30 minutes in a hot underground garage for the bus. A ridiculous way to start the tour- Our tour guide was beyond boring and not the informative people person we had hoped for. She did not make us feel welcomed and The 6 hour bus ride was not worth the time.
We went on our tour led by Mateo. Matty was great, and the driver very friendly. Very knowledgeable and able to answer most questions. The tour was long, as we visited both Segovia and Avila. The meal was amazing, and the sites world class. Not a small group, but not overwhelming either. Some sections were a bit tricky, such as climbing the wall, and may be too much for older, or unsteady people. No leg was overly long before having a stop. Felt like a good price, was very satisfied. Will absolutely recommend.
The tour was great fun, Mateo was a great guide and was very fun to be with. The cities were beautiful and the lunch was delicious and recommended!
Great experience. Well worth the money. Our guide Mateo was great, very knowledgeable, very nice. Bus condition was excellent and driver was great
Excelent tour. Guide Mateo very nice and very knowledgeable. Driver and the bus very good. Thank you and see you next time. 😊
Excellent company...great tour. Our guide Jorge Torres was awesome. Lots of gokf information. If you want a full day of Segovia and Aguila, this is the one. Get the meal option, you won't regret it!
Full packed day with nice sceneries. I like that it is on time as well. The bus service is nice and cool as well which helps.
Mateo was our guide, he was informative and knowledgeable. He went through the tour at a good pace while still presenting in Spanish and English.
The trip is very good and the tour guide Mariana is very nice. We have sufficient time to travel around in each city. Will definitely recommend people to Madrid to join this day tour.
Great tour guide, great value
Worth the visit don’t skip this on your trip to Spain
We have gone to Ávila and Segovia with Mariana. She is very kind and explains very very well, she knows a lot about the history of those places. The visit is well planned because you spend the time exactly in both towns, not short, not long. The only thing i would change is the time for dinner. It is at 12:30 p.m, very soon, i think. It would be better doit all on hour after. However, i strongly recommend it!!!!
Mariana , did a great job, she gave a lot of valuable information, in a friendly and entertaining way, very pleased with her work
Very nice historical places.
Entire tour was very well planned. Segovia was so beautiful and happening we enjoyed our time there. The guide recommended us notably spanish dishes to try and made our lunch very delightful as well. It started raining during our trip to Avila but the tour continued and the guide explained the history to us thoroughly we truly appreciated it. Highly recommended!!
Mateo the guide was excellent, he was detailed, patient and had lots of recommendations. The food was amazing and the bus was confortable. Franklin the driver was super nice, great trip and learnt lots of history. I will book my next trip with them!
Tour was extensive, the guide was so knowledgeable, happy and made the experience so memorable.
