We went to Las Ventas with a group of foreign students and had booked the tour in Spanish so that they could test their Spanish. We were very glad that we insisted on the Spanish tour instead of the English tour which we were offered at the front desk, because our Spanish speaking guide Lucas was great: He explained with gestures, facial expressions and easier words so that even students who've had only a year of Spanish understood at least the gist. The students were very interested, because Lucas adapted to their level and thus showed them that he wanted them to understand. At the same time, those who had an advanced level also benefitted from the experience, as they now have a much better understanding of a bullfight, the setup, the people and animals involved.

Booked VIP tour. Excellent tour. Highly recommend. Our tour guide was wonderful.
It was a good experience that took just over an hours and half. The biggest disappointment was the actual bullfighting ring had been converted into a stage so couldn’t experience walking on it.
A fun way to spend a free hour in Madrid. The audio is both informative and interesting, and the bullring museum is absolutely fascinating.
Great starting location, good guide, right amount of detail while having the freedom to wonder around. Recommended!
The self guided, audio tour was informative and efficient. We especially loved the arena and the supportive videos that provide additional understandings of the venue’s significance. The museum was very well done. We enjoyed being able to hold a capote (Cape).
Fun and quick. You don’t need more than an hour all in. But it was a nice self guided tour….and it was cool to be in the ring
It is definitely a must do. I purchased my tickets online however there were people walking in and purchasing tickets. The structure is impressive. Many statues related to bull fighting in the area. Audio tour allows you to listen to the 12-13 stops and take your time in between stops to appreciate the areas. You can even go into the ring!!!. The other parts of the tour are the virtual reality and the museum! An important matter is that they will require some sort of documentation of importance as a guarantee of returning the audio phones!
A great experience, very informative and such an important part of Spanish history.
Even if you don’t approve of bullfighting this tour is an excellent introduction to its culture origins. The trip through the bullring is easy to follow and the audio guide is a mine of information. Definitely do this when in Madrid.
Excellent, simple tour clearly explained in English and very interesting thanks. Only glitch was library section whee filming was happening and someone blocked off the passage through. Alternative path blocked off by workmen sign who were preparing the bullring. We ignored the sign and walked through anyway 😀.
For the seventy was excellent, the staff was excellent. The experience gave us a greater understanding of the cultural importance of bullfighting to the spaniard people
Lucas our tour guide was excellent. He is very knowledgeable and it made a huge difference a my husband was very curious. Thank you
So hot in Madrid this week looking for sonething to do in the morning and saw this. Tbh I wasn’t sure if it was for me but thought my 13 year old grandson might like it. It was such an interesting self guided tour, the building is impressive and it was strangely peaceful. The museum is a must see, histories of bull fighters, stunning costumes and sone ‘interesting’ wakk adornments. It is part of Spanish culture and this visit showed the respect the matadors have for the bulls somethibg I had never thought of before
A history lesson given in a modern way
I was welcomed by Carlos as a private tour guide. He explained the history of Las Ventas, bullfighting, the bulls and the fighters. I did not know that there was a link to Lamborghini and all the famous bulls. It was an awesome experience to get both a history lesson and nice time at this spectacular venue.
Must seen in Madrid! Immersing in the culture of the city!
We visited Las Ventas with our family of four and had a fantastic time. The tour was very entertaining and informative, perfect for all ages. Our kids loved standing in the arena and learning about the history of this iconic bullring. We were really lucky — they had a corrida later that evening while we were there, and we were invited to participate in the morning festivities. It was such a memorable experience that made our visit even better! Highly recommend the guided tour. Great for families and well worth it. 10/10!
Hugo was a great tour guide. He had so much knowledge and did a very good job explaining to my group. He connected to things they liked and adapted to the group, it was great!
Very good self-guided tour and Museum experience.
What a beautiful building! Who knew there was so much to learn about the protocols of a bull fight! Very informative and very interesting! Thoroughly enjoyed it. 👏
The bull ring and museum were fascinating to visit and the metro stop was conveniently just outside. The only confusing thing was poor signage for points 12 and 13 on the audio tour.
Great opportunity to see the bullring and learn of its history. Audio tour was clear and the interactive experience was a nice touch.
Very good experience with our guide Lelie, who guided us professionally through the bullring and answered all of our questions patiently.
I loved touring this stadium during my trip to Madrid. The audio guide was helpful and explained the history of bullfighting. There was not a lot of people and I had plenty of opportunities for good pictures. The stati is right next to the metro stop and is very easy to reach, even for a tourist.
Beuatiful and informative, the audio tour was worth every penny, the museum is also very well equipped and the explanations are fun and informative, The VR experience is thrilling
We went during spring break with our eleven year old, fifteen year old and thirteen year old. It was fun to walk around the stadium and see all the different parts. Each station of the audio tour relayed interesting information but wasn't mundane- it kept my teenagers attention. You don't see anything happen to the animals until you get to the gift shop/museum & that's only if you decide to stay & watch the videos playing. Otherwise, you can just skip right past it.
This was a GREAT experience. You learn about the history of bull fighting, see a live sized bull, then go down on the floor of the ring. Our family enjoyed it very much.
Great short event to get a sense of the history and process of bull fights. I wasn’t prepared to do a bull fight but I’ve always been interested. It was great. The audio tour and the museum were a great blend.
This was one of the best tours we took in Madrid. Alexander was extremely knowledgeable. He has experience bull fighting and thus gives a lot of authentic detail (and his English is excellent). We were able to see the ring from the stands as well as walk at ground level to where the participants stand. I recommend the virtual bull fight experience (just a few minutes of wearing a headset that gives you the sense of being in the ring with a bull). We ended with the museum which was also very interesting with many of the beautiful outfits the bull fighters wear as well as the mounted heads of some of the bulls. I definitely recommend this tour even if you do not care for the sport - bullfighting is emeshed in Spain's history and the tour is excellent.
Great experience, beautiful building and fun interactive exhibits!
We decided for the guided tour and we were lucky that Palomo could speak a nearly perfect Italian. Palomo explained us everything about the world of Corrida and answred kindly to all our questions. The tour lasted more than the promised duration of 1 hour and 30 minutes. The place is beautiful even if there was a big structure for events inside the bullring which really ruined the view.
First time visiting a bullring. It’s quite a cultural shock to see how it is perceived as an artistic sport event. The bull and costumes are beautiful. The museum is a must otherwise you miss the most important part of the culture.
Only recommended if you really are into bull fighting……otherwise not even for one time visit, as there is not much to do there. Just listening to some voices, looking at few stuff, which could be done at home also, i believe….sorry for being honest!
Had a fantastic tour. Very informative and fascinating! Big thanks to our incredible guide, Lélia, who was knowledgeable and very proficient in English.
Overall, the experience was great. It is a unique venue, and the tour was interesting as well as interactive. Although it rained during our visit, it was still impressive to see and hear about the bullring. We opted for the self-guided tour, which was sufficient; however, not all areas were clearly marked, and not all staff were overly friendly. At the same time, the VR experience was excellent, and the opportunity to get a photo as a participant was great. If you are looking for something a bit unique and culturally infused, I would recommend this opportunity.
We really enjoyed the Bull Ring Tour; the audio was informative and the highlights and detail was great. I had no interest in seeing the bullfights, whatsoever; but I liked learning about the history of the sport in Madrid and walking through the included museum.
We recently visited Las Ventas and took part in the VIP guided tour. I cannot recommend this highly enough. The bullring is spectacular and the history is fascinating. Whether you are a fan or not of bullfighting, the Spanish are rightly extremely proud of their culture and heritage and this tour answered all my questions. Our host Lelia was very helpful and knowledgeable and bought the whole experience to life.
We absolutely, LOVED our guided English tour of the Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas -- the bull ring of Madrid. Our guide Carlos spoke excellent, articulate English. Our understanding and appreciation of the history and details of bull fighting were minimal and Carlos, and the tour itself were very informative, creative, and engaging. Regardless of one's perspective and view of the treatment of animals, this was an informative cultural experience. We loved the virtual bullfighting. The demonstration of techniques by the novelleros and the context of Spanish culture and history.
It has been a dream to go to Las Ventas Bullring and I was so excited to go last month. The building and Museum are wonderful and I highly recommend the audio tour which relays the amazing history of famous Matadors. It's an essential Madrid experience !
It is worth doing the self guided audio tour. There is interesting information which brings the bullring alive and you wouldn’t know about if you just wandered on your own. The VR experience was a great addition and suitable for everyone - letting you experience what it is like to be a matador. Definitely worth a visit
Great experience, friendly to knowledgeable guides with some fun activities to enhance the experience with an interesting museum!
Really great tour for students learning Spanish and wanting to form their opinion on the bullfighting debate. Would highly recommend.
Hello y'all, We took the guided tour with Yoann and he was great, dude knew a lot about bullfighting. I am new to the sport having caught my first fight that weekend. I am a big fan of the sport now. This is far beyond a mere sporting event, the level of danger and skill required makes football look silly. It was the most intense bout I have ever watched. I would suggest folks not familiar with bullfighting take the tour before you attend the fights.
5 stars because we cannot put 10. Carlos was a perfect tour guide, kind and funny. We got to see many small details of the arena
The vist was a great experience, even better than I hoped. I suggest it for family and also for children. maybe the guided tour could be most immersive but the audioguide was very good.
The experience was better than expected. The audio guide skillfully brought you through the bullring from the perspective of almost every participant.
Amazing place. It perfectly shows a culture very rich. The culture of bullfighting. And the tour itself is really well made.
Great experience, I suggest everyone to visit it. With the audioguide was really amazing, it seems to be in a real reality.
We really enjoyed the Bullring. Only issue was we were asked to provide our metro or hotel room card as a deposit for the audio guides. We didn't have a problem with this at the time but there was a mix up with the cards and we were given someone else's card. We lots 10 full trips and had to buy another card to get back to our home. We didn't go back to tell las ventas as we had a reservation and had already got to the metro station
