Our Toledo day tour was enjoyable, and the city is absolutely beautiful with so much history and culture. However, I was disappointed that although the itinerary included seven monuments, only one of them was accompanied by a guided tour. For the remaining sites, we were left to explore on our own with very little information or context. It would have made the experience much more meaningful if a guide had explained the history and significance of each monument. Toledo has such a rich heritage, and we felt we missed out on learning about many of its highlights. I would recommend this tour for seeing the city, but I hope the company considers providing guided commentary at more of the monuments in the future.

Itinerary
The Alcázar of Toledo is a stone fortification located in the highest part of Toledo, Spain. Once used as a Roman palace in the 3rd century, it was restored under Charles I (Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor) and his son Philip II of Spain in the 1540s. In 1521, Hernán Cortés was received by Charles I at the Alcázar, following Cortes' conquest of the Aztecs. Most of the alcázar was rebuilt, or restored, between 1939 and 1957 after the Siege of the Alcázar of the Spanish Civil War.
You will enjoy it with our guided walking and at your own pace
The Primate Cathedral of Saint Mary of Toledo is a Roman Catholic church and it is the seat of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Toledo. The cathedral of Toledo is one of the three 13th-century High Gothic cathedrals in Spain and is considered, in the opinion of some authorities, to be the magnum opus of the Gothic style in Spain.
The Synagogue of Santa María la Blanca, originally known as the Ibn Shushan Synagogue, or commonly the Congregational Synagogue of Toledo, is a museum and former synagogue. Erected in 1180, according to an inscription on a beam, it is disputably considered the oldest synagogue building in Europe still standing. It is now owned and preserved by the Catholic Church.
Admire inside The Burial of Count Orgaz, The famous paint of El Greco
This monastery was founded by King Ferdinand II of Aragon and Queen Isabella I of Castile to commemorate both the birth of their son, Prince John, and their victory at the Battle of Toro (1476) over the army of Afonso V of Portugal.

Easy pick up and drop off, very informative and patient with big groups. Thank you Jose Lewis!
Impossible to contact support to get a refund, zero reaction in 2 months
Good Job Jose Luis, Emilio and Rito
It was just right for the day trip. The bus was on time and the guide Jose Luis was very good , pleasant and helpful.
Excellent experience on the Toledo tour from Madrid. Danny was a fantastic guide—friendly, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable, making the entire tour both entertaining and informative from start to finish. At the Cathedral, Noelia was equally exceptional; her explanations were clear, engaging, and full of fascinating details that made the visit even more special. Both did an outstanding job and made this a truly memorable experience. Highly recommended!
Ramiro was excellent tour guide! Very inforativeed
We were mixed with other tour groups for bus back to Madrid. We had no direction of where to go to obtain bracelets for admission we paid for. Spent time walking around which was great but did not have time to see monuments because we were bounced from place to place with zero help. I would not use this tour company again
5 rate.Angie and Daniel were informative .took their r time and answered questions. ! It is worth the money !. I enjoyed Toledo very much and at the end if the day sporadic view of the city to take pictures at nights was worth it . I would do this again . All day exclusive and 7 monuments .
Angie was awesome. We went with full day trip. Night view of Toledo is a must see jewel. The castles light up with soft yellow lights, just like medieval times.
All ok, the The experience was very friendly and easy to do, Toledo is beautiful and worth the price of the ticket. the bus was comfortable and air conditioned
This is not a guided tour. They will drop you off and tell you to find attractions on your own. They don’t explain entry bracelet access. Only the cathedral is tour guides and that is in Spanish. Tour guide only said a few words in English. Waste of money because it is not a guided tour. They simply pre purchase your entry tickets and tell you to go find the seven different attractions and they only allow two hours to see it all. No audio headset provided either. Horrible money grab fake tour.
The guide tour was really interesting and informative. Ramiro was doing his best and showed the group the most interesting places in Toledo. Gracias!
fantastic 😎 day with the excellent tour guide Sarà. very hot (42') but the city is worth a day if you are in Spain In my opinion the ideal period is autumn
Amazing landscapes with the guide Alejandro. But you can be surprised , because Toledo registered more than 86 monuments that get protected. Even the streets of Toledo are magical!
Easy bus trip almost an hour outside of Madrid. All the history in one small gorgeous mountaintop! Raquel, our guide through the cathedral, was outstanding! Local guide with local in depth knowledge!
Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. Tour guide for the cathedral was clearly enthusiastic about the cathedral including its design, the meaning and symbolism of the statues, paintings and other artefacts
At the first stop the guides at the venue were speaking over each other - one in Spanish the other in English and it was very hard to follow what was being said.
Alejandro’s gave us a great walking tour of Toledo and showed us wonderful sights and shops. He also showed us how to get transportation back to our bus pick up area. He showed us a great time on our trip.
So disappointed. The tour company were very disorganised. Our bus was an hour late. The staff did not communicate with anyone. So many people were confused about what was happening on the day. Between arriving late to Toledo, waiting another 30 minutes for our tour guide to arrive at Toledo, this left us with just 3 hours to see 7 monuments and be back at the bus to return to Madrid. We did definitely did not get time to see all 7 monuments and we did not get to see the swords being made. When we asked the tour guide why this was not possible, he responded "I'm just a guide, you will have to take this up with the tour company in Madrid". Find another tour to see beautiful Toledo. I do not recommend this tour. Poor effort, Yellow Tours.
The views are beautiful. Guide gave reasonable clear briefing. Only confusing part is return from Toledo to Madrid- either 145pm bus or 445pm. Guide said can take either bus back. I bought a full day trip ticket & departed from Madrid at 9am. Question is can those bought half day ticket and left Madrid at 9am bus also take 445pm ? If so, will it happen too many people take the 445pm bus & not enough seats ???
Thanks,to our guide Alejandro. It was amazing!!!!!He explain very well and his very Nice.He take picture for you.He explain in spanish and english.
Very interesting tour. Our guide Alejandro is very good. He spent with us even more time he had to. Excellent! Beautiful places, swords, sangria, cheese..
We are regular City Break visitors. Madrid was this years choice and it did not disappoint. 4 night stay giving us 5 days off visits. Flamingo dancing, The Palace, The Prado are all must in the city. We also did a train journey to the university medieval town Alcala Henares. Also birth place of Cervantes where you can visited his house and museum.(free). Lovely place and well worth the train journey. Hotel was basic but central which is a must if you want to walk and not have to rely on transport. We did have a 'Red Bus' ride to get the lay of the land, but traffic is horrendous so can waste a lot of time. Lovel place and lovely architecture, would recommend. Airport is very large and a bit of nightmare to understand and get around. Leave plenty of time.
Very interesting. Dora gave a good explanation of all the highlights in Toledo. Highly recommend the tour and worth the money
Toledo is incredible, the history, the buildings, the narrow streets, the cathedral has an amazing art collection.
Toledo is a fabulous historic city and very worth visiting. More visitors than seats on bus. Line did not hold in order of arrivals. Too long in Cathedral tour.
Lovey trip with lots of local knowledge. Alejandro was a fantastic guide. He was very knowledgeable and made the experience great.
The guides were informative and knowledgeable. The issue we had with the tour is that we spent an hour (at the beginning of the tour) visiting a ‘shop’. We didn’t get to Toledo old town until 11:30 and had only 30 min tour before the guide handed us off to meet another guide at 12:40. We toured the Cathedral with the new guide (very good tour) and finished at 2:30. We took a coffee break then proceeded to Mezquita Cristo de la Luz & Iglesia de Santo Tomé. We only had time for a quick visit at each of these before we had to head back to meet the bus. Even though you have access to more monuments, you don’t have enough time and part of that time is wasted in the shop. The other issue we had is that our tickets don’t work well. We were given tickets with a QR code but one of the codes didn’t work and we were told we had to pay. However, we kept showing our paid tickets and eventually we were admitted. I recommend comfortable shoes as there are lots of hills and uneven stone streets. We enjoyed our day and most especially the guides and bus drivers, who saw us there safely.
Very enriching experience. The tpur guide Aitiana was very helpful knowledgeable and supportive. We enjoyed ourselves a lot as a family
Beautiful place to visit and good mix of time with guided and exploring on our own. Adding the tour of the cathedral was worth it!
Take care to fully understand what the tour includes - we expected narration on the bus ride down and guides to 3 sites. Neither of those occurred. This activity is good for the bus ride down and back but plan to tour mostly on your own,
This tour was provided by local yellow tours. They were an hour late! We boarded a bus with sticky floors and a non-working mike. We were transferred to an older bus who stalled twice before leaving the gas station we were taken to outside town. The mike still had a lot of static. The bus stalled twice before exiting in Toledo. Fumes spread all over the road and inside the bus. I was emailed 3 vouchers for entrances and was given a paper one who was no good. We had to visit these on our own. That was not mentioned on the Viator description of the tour. Before we left the tour guide told me to get the Cathedral voucher from the tour guide there. That tour guide told me to wait by the traffic light by the pharmacy. An hour later we left because no one arrived! We couldn’t visit the other sites we paid for they were far, up the hill and we didn’t have time. Horrible tour and tour guides! When we made our way to the pick-up spot about 30 people were left behind to wait for another bus because this bus got full. What a waste of a day! We should get our money back because we missed seeing beautiful Toledo! Do not book this tour!
The trip was excellent, with 2 exceptions. The cathedral tour was in English and Spanish, so it was difficult to follow. It also extended the tour bduration by 1/2 hour, which cut into our free time. The second issue was the return bus to Madrid. Boarding was confusing and pure bedlam. Perhaps there is a more organized way to do this.
We had a very difficult time finding the location of the departure. When we finally did after looking for it for 30 minutes, the bus was late 25 more minutes. The city of Toledo is pretty, but so filled with groups of tourists. It made it a bit hard to hear our guide and honestly the tour didn’t really encompass much. However our guide Jesus was very nice.
We drove to Toledo in a comfortable bus, it was full so we were a little concerned at first, but when we got there we were divided in small groups, only 3 of us on our group for the day which worked as a private tour. The guide was excellent, local, knowledgeable and very nice, unfortunately now 10 days passed and we forgot her name. We visited all the main sites with her detailed explanations, had lunch in a very cozy restaurant, including sangria/ wine and 1h or so after lunch to walk around for some souvenirs. A perfect day in a beautiful city. We recommend it.
Everything about the day trip and tour was wonderful. Staff at Plaza de Espana was very helpful and bus left on time. We can't say enough wonderful things about our guide, Soroilla ( not sure about spelling). Her explanations in English were very clear. She is very intelligent, knowledgeable and helpful... a delightful person We truly had a marvelous day!
Loved Toledo - a must see if you are in Madrid. While the guides were very knowledgeable, we were put in the wrong group (1/2 day versus full day) and missed the Cathedral part of the tour and had to go back and view on our own. Advise to make sure you are in the right group when you get to Toledo. Also, if you are over 6' the bus ride from Madrid and back can be very uncomfortable - I'm 6'2" and my knees were up against the seat in front of me - no leg room at all.
There’s so much to see and do in Toledo that a person could easily spend a month there, So I understand that an afternoon is just way too short of time to cover the territory. Plus, Our guide spoke very broken English and was hard to understand. In Spain I do not expect that anyone should speak English, UNLESS I pay for a tour in English. We only ended up seeing two churches . I wanted to see Muslim mosque and the Jewish synagogue, But we never even walked by either of those. When the tour ended and I asked the guide for the synagogue, the man pointed. We followed his general direction for about 25 minutes until we finally located the synagogue but by then it was too close to the bus leaving for us to be able to go inside. Before the tour began the guide told us The elevators weren’t working to return down to the bus parking lot so we spent about 15 minutes discussing how we would find our way back to the buses, which was very difficult to understand. The guy could’ve simply said to meet where we were 20 minutes earlier and every thing would’ve been solved. in the end we found our way to a Makeshift trail, where we blustered down until my boyfriend stepped in dog poo. He was not a happy camper!! I think it should’ve been much clearer what the tour covered and if you only have a very brief. At least go to all the highlights not just the churches. I would not recommend thus tour
The city tour and the guide were great. For this a 5 star rating. Only complaint is the initial loading zone at Plaza España was confusing. There were no signs to distinguish which bus was what tour. This could have been handled better.
Although urged to be at our meeting point 15min early we in fact left 40 minutes late. There was no introduction on the coach and once we arrived we had to wait 45 minutes for the rest of the group to join us. The 'day trip' to Toledo was in fact about 2 hours actually guided around Toledo. After a mediocre lunch we were abandoned to look around and find our own way back to the bus. Only told to keep going down and ask a local where McDonald's is if you get lost (which several if us did). Back in Madrid we were not dropped off at our starting point. This trip was overpriced and not well organised.
David was very knowledgeable about everything. My boyfriend was full of questions, testing David’s knowledge and David was more than happy to accept the challenge answering every question he could conjure. My second time on a walking tour through Toledo and I felt as though I’d seen it through new eyes! All around an amazing tour.
Toledo is a beautiful city and you need a good guide to give you the essence of this city. Thankfully, I and my group had Jennifer - the cheerful and knowledgeable guide who ensured we made the most out of our time in Toledo. She narrated the legends of Toledo both in Spanish and English and was kind enough to answer any questions and didn’t rush through the tour (which is great) Although she had a big group, she managed to keep everyone engaged and curious about the offerings of Toledo. I would highly recommend doing the tour with her. Best, Swagat
Our tour guide Inma was excellent and made the tour so enjoyable! She was very detailed and made sure we understood her. One thing we found was the bus service to pick us up at Plaza España was late half an hour and apparently they had to use a replacement bus with no air conditioning. Aside from that, the visit at Toledo was everything we expected. We took the full tour and the food was excellent. The attention we received from our tour guide Inma was top notch and she was extremely responsible paying special attention to kids and seniors. I recommend.
The tour was very good... Danny explained things very well. A constructive suggestion is that, for logistical reasons, we would have liked to enter the Cathedral directly as soon as the walking tour ended. Being on the other side of town and having to return at 4:00pm made it difficult for us and limited our time. We managed to have approximately 4 hours to enjoy Toledo on our own. This is just a glimpse of Toledo... we definitely have to return.
They say that you can get off the bus as many times as you want, but getting back on is a problem since there are no seats available and the wait is more than 50 minutes for it to pass by again.
Very organized and on time. Very friendly service!
Todo muy bien, bastante clara la explicación de los guías. Claro que vale la pena venir a conocer la ciudad
Toledo is a very magical place, you shouldn't miss Toledo because of the beautiful architecture of the place and everything you see there. 100% I appreciate the guide David, very kind.
