Rooftop Dining – Great Food & an Unforgettable Atmosphere We didn’t stay at the hotel, so I can’t comment on the rooms or accommodation. We visited specifically for dinner at the rooftop, and what an experience it was! The atmosphere was exceptionally buzzing, especially as it was the same evening the Spanish football team returned with the World Cup. We were very lucky to have managed to book a table that evening, and the energy was incredible. The food was excellent. We had the Chicken Caesar Salad and the Grilled Seabass, which was juicy, tender, and incredibly tasty. At around 800g, it was more than enough for us to share. We also ordered the steak, which was perfectly cooked. A special mention goes to our server — unfortunately, I forgot her name! She was incredibly friendly, funny, and attentive, adding even more positive energy to an already wonderful evening. The room was comfortable and elegant. The Makka restaurant dynamic and serving great food. The rooftop bar great and rooftop pool perfect. The Thompson team help me in many details and made my stay very comfortable. They even organized a cake to be delivered in my room. Just a month ago I stayed at the Madrid Edition but Thompson is in my opinion higher amenities and service level. I am loooking forward to stay at your hotel again ❤️
From the moment you step into the hotel, the staff make you feel right at home — warm, attentive, and professional. The location is ideal: central and within walking distance of excellent restaurants and bars. The property is spotless. Special shoutout to the evening bartenders on the Maka Rooftop outstanding cocktails and top-notch service. Highly recommended for families and anyone seeking a fantastic stay in Madrid.
Went for a girls trip and leaving with so much gratitude for the staff at The Thompson. The location is perfect in the city center near shops and restaurants. We spent some time on the rooftop pool and had the best customer service from David. He was attentive, patient, and hard working since there are a lot of guests that visit the pool. Drinks are incredible and the city view is even better. The rooms are very clean and house keeping ensures you are always coming back to a clean room. Makaa is a great place for breakfast or a pre dinner drink. Highly recommend staying at The Thompson!
We are currently staying at Thompson Madrid and felt compelled to write this before even checking out—this has been one of the most memorable hotel experiences we’ve had. From the moment we arrived, the level of service has been exceptional, but what truly made our stay special was Germán Escalona. He went above and beyond to make our anniversary feel celebrated—upgrading our room, surprising us with a thoughtful welcome gift, and most importantly, taking the time to genuinely connect with us. His warmth and sincerity are something you don’t often find, especially in larger, more modern hotels. He made us feel completely at home, which is rare at this level of property. Our room is absolutely spectacular—beautifully designed, spacious, and incredibly comfortable. Every detail feels elevated and well thought out. What stands out most is how this hotel manages to feel both luxurious and personal at the same time. It has all the polish and style you’d expect from a high-end hotel, yet still feels warm and welcoming. We’ve stayed at several beautiful hotels throughout this trip, and this has been our favorite by far. A huge thank you to Germán and the entire team for making our stay so special—we will absolutely be back.
