Sercotel Gran Hotel Conde Duque

Great location, but the hotel falls short of expectations The hotel is conveniently located, and our room was clean throughout our stay. However, unfortunately, these were pretty much the only positive aspects of our experience. On two separate mornings, we were woken up by the fire alarm, which was far from ideal when staying at a hotel. We also struggled to communicate with the reception staff, as their English was very limited. This made even simple interactions unnecessarily difficult. The air conditioning in our room wasn’t working properly, and the hotel overall felt very outdated. The furniture, bathroom, bedding and even the room safe all seemed old and in need of an upgrade. The facilities simply didn’t meet the standard we expected. There were also some basic amenities missing. Complimentary bottled water was only available on our first day, and there were no tea or coffee-making facilities in the room. Overall, the hotel has a good location, but the condition of the facilities and the overall service left us disappointed. Given how much we paid, we expected a considerably more comfortable stay and a much better-maintained hotel. In our opinion, the price is simply too high for what the hotel currently offers. A proper renovation and improvements in service would make a significant difference.

Good location, but disappointing overall experience The location is good, the room was clean, and the housekeeping staff were friendly and did a good job. Unfortunately, the rest of our experience was disappointing. We were woken up early in the morning by the fire alarm on two different days. The reception staff were generally unfriendly and unwelcoming. There was detox water in the lobby on the first day, but not during the rest of our stay. In the room, there was no kettle, tea or coffee, and even the complimentary water was only provided on the first day. Another strange thing was that the duvets had no proper covers. Overall, apart from the location, cleanliness and housekeeping staff, there wasn't much we enjoyed about this hotel. We expected better for the price we paid.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The rooms are cleaned thoroughly 🫧🧼 bed is nice and comfy and even in 38° the air conditioning was powerful and made returning back feel heavenly 🪽 Location is fantastic also, you are in 30-45 minute walking distance from most major tourist attractions: Retiro park, Mercado San Miguel & Cathedral de Santa Maria. Don’t have to stress about taking bus / metro. Many thanks to the wonderful staff making this place as special as it is. ❤️

We stayed at the Sercotel Gran Hotel Conde Duque for the first time — it’s actually our closest hotel, and with some renovation work going on at home, we needed to spend a few nights out. Turned out to be a lovely little stay. The location is really good, right in front of the beautiful Parque de Suchil. The hotel itself was clean, the staff were very nice, and check-in went smoothly with no fuss. Our room was big and full of natural light — we were up on the 8th floor with a balcony and lovely views over the sierra. With the heat, midday wasn’t really the time to sit out there, but I can imagine the evenings being lovely. If I had one note on the balcony, it’d be that the railings could be a touch higher for comfort. The room was spacious and the bed was super comfortable — no complaints there. The only things I found myself missing were a kettle with some tea and coffee, maybe a couple of bottles of (tap) water, and a small fridge, which our room didn’t have. Your web says there is a mini bar but if there is - I could not see it. Little touches that would’ve made it feel complete. Bathroom with bath and all necessary things. Downstairs, the bar and restaurant had nice interiors with comfortable spots to sit back and relax with a drink — a nice place to unwind after the day. Overall, a good hotel and a comfortable place to stay. Would happily return
