The hotel is located in the heart of the city, everything seems close or easy to get to. The service is great, specially the people at the front desk. The room was clean, organized and spacious.

I had an agreeable stay at Plaza del Carmen. The location is central, the staff are professional (check out their Madrid recommendations using the QR code in the elevator), and the rooms are comfortable. Regarding the room, the bed was originally set up for two double beds despite the reservation stating there was only one guest. I asked to convert the two double beds into a king with larger sheets which they did no problem (but this would have been nice to have from the start). The kettle and coffee/tea setup they have in the rooms and in the lobby was missing one essential thing: caffeinated coffee! There was an assortment of teas and decaffeinated instant coffee, an interesting choice to say the least. I cannot quite comprehend why they don’t have a caffeinated option at their designated coffee bar but that seems to be a relatively easy thing to implement in the future. The walls are a bit thin as I could hear noises (crying baby) coming from the adjoining room and the DJ at the Puerta Del Sol Plaza (though this was only during the Pride events and was not a regular occurrence). The bathroom had an interesting layout with the hand soap and lotion on the opposite wall of the sink and a lot of empty space behind the sink and shower. It seemed they worked within the confines of the room itself and how the plumbing was set up. I appreciated how the hair dryer had two different diffuser attachments. The most notable drawback is the shower as the glass partition separating the rest of the bathroom is not long enough so most of the shower water got on the floor. The partition only extended double the length of the shower head (as pictured) and as one can imagine, this resulted in lots of water escaping the shower area and leaving the shower mat and an additional bath towel very wet.
Could not fault. Staff very welcoming and extremely helpful. We arrived mid morning but they were more than happy to look after luggage, arrange for our parties to have adjoining rooms, and allow us to check in early. Rooms good and cleaned to good standard each day. Would suggest you take a cup, and tea/coffee, if like me you want a cuppa in the morning. Best part of hotel is its location. Close to shops, restaurants and main square. Could not fault and would be more than happy to stay in this hotel if, and when, we visit Madrid again
We were really looking forward to our stay at this hotel based on the positive reviews and the good communication we had with the hotel prior to check-in. When booking through the hotel’s website, we were offered two options: the “Triple Attic Room” (which was priced lower) and the “Quadruple Room.” We deliberately chose the Quadruple Room, described on the website as a 20 m² room “with a double bed/2 single beds and a bunk bed,” because we specifically did not want to stay in an attic room. However, upon arrival we were given a room located in the attic. The space was dark with low ceilings — exactly the type of room we had intended to avoid. When we raised this with the staff, they insisted that the attic room was indeed a quadruple room. The issue, however, is that nowhere on the website does it indicate—either in the photos or in the description—that the Quadruple Room could be located in the attic. The room we received did not match the room presented when booking. To their credit, the hotel offered to move us to another room the following day. Unfortunately, this required us to check out of the first room and wait until 3:00 pm to check into the new one, which was quite inconvenient during a short stay. This made the experience disappointing overall, particularly because we felt the situation was dismissed with the explanation that the room we received was the same category we booked, despite the hotel’s own website showing a very different room. On the positive side, the location of the hotel is excellent, and the actual non-attic Quadruple Room we were eventually given was nice. However, given the number of other hotels in the same area, we would likely choose a different option next time.
I didn't stay there but spent some time in the small reception area once I managed to get in (the automatic door didn't work !). The toilet light was difficult to find and everything I saw or tried seemed to have been done in a hurry and in need of maintenance or an overhaul. Very central location but somehow hidden and difficult to spot the entrance ! Forget parking or even trying to get near by car.
