Novotel Madrid City Las Ventas

We stayed here accidentally after needing to find a hotel quickly. Being Accor members, we saw the difference in quality and style from one property to another. The staff was nice, upgraded us to a suite and comped our parking. The room was in need of a refresh, with paint peeling and the ceiling sagging in spots. The location is nondescript, next to a highway. As a childless couple, we were out of place here, as it was nearly all families with young kids, making it impossible to use the pool in the afternoon. The restaurant was uninspiring, but the breakfast was fine. In all, not a terrible place, functional and no frills, just not for us.

Despite what it might seem at first, the hotel is actually quite well located – around 15 minutes by car from the airport and about 10–20 minutes from the city centre. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast is good with a nice selection. The swimming pool is quite small, but it’s definitely a nice bonus to have, especially for a quick swim or some time to relax. The room was clean and comfortable. Overall, everything was perfectly fine and we had a pleasant stay.

My family and I traveled from Toronto to Madrid for our 3 week summer vacation, and we stayed at Novotel Madrid City Las Ventas for 5 days. We had a wonderful experience from start to finish. The breakfast buffet was exceptional, offering a great variety of delicious options each morning. Our room was always spotless and well maintained, making our stay very comfortable. The hotel staff were welcoming and attentive, and the host was especially pleasant. A special thank you to Restaurant Manager Anna, who greeted us every morning with a warm smile and made us feel genuinely welcome. Her kindness and outstanding hospitality made our breakfasts even more enjoyable. Our stay exceeded our expectations, and we truly felt at home. The next time we visit Madrid, we will definitely stay at Novotel Madrid City Las Ventas again. Highly recommended!

We stayed here for three nights while exploring Madrid as a family. We booked it mainly because it was a Novotel and the price was reasonable. If I’m booking a Novotel, I’m usually looking for a dependable place rather than a luxury stay, and that’s exactly what this was. What I’ll remember most, though, is the room itself. We had an Executive Room on the 8th floor, and it was genuinely spacious for the three of us. After spending the entire day out in Madrid, it was nice to come back to a room where we weren’t constantly trying to work around each other’s luggage or find somewhere to sit. It overlooked the main road, but the room was surprisingly quiet, and the blackout curtains made for a good night’s sleep. Everything else was equally hassle-free. The room was spotless, housekeeping was consistent, and nothing gave us any trouble during our stay. Breakfast had a good variety, with both indoor and outdoor seating, and the bus stop right outside the hotel made it easy to get into the city in about half an hour. We only had lunch at the restaurant once. It was fine, although the vegetarian options were fairly limited. On the other hand, the luggage storage after checkout was something we really appreciated on our last day. Looking back, I don’t think this is a hotel that tries to wow you, and that’s perfectly okay. It delivered exactly what we booked it for: a clean, comfortable, well-run base for a few days in Madrid. I’d happily stay here again if I were looking for good value without expecting a luxury experience.
