I stayed for two nights as a solo traveler. My room was very small with basic furnishings but well appointed and clean. The bathroom was nice and had a great shower. I was also very grateful that after arriving at 11am after my red eye flight that they were able to accommodate me with an early check in. I chose the location based on a recommendation from a friend, however would not likely choose Salamanca again. It is primarily a high end shopping district which is not something that interests me at all. I wanted to buy a bottle of water and snack on my way home one evening and didn’t come across a store nor market for that purpose. I spent a night at a hotel in the Atocha neighborhood later on during my trip which was a much more interesting residential neighborhood. Hotel was 1/3 the price with similar furnishings (though the bathroom was not as nice). That said, again, the Icon Embassy was fine and accommodating and I would recommend if the vibe of this high end neighborhood is what you’re after.

I stayed 5 nights there and had a marvellous experience! The whole staff were lovely, especially Miguel P and Noemí, who kindly helped me with printing and scanning some very important documents. The bedroom and bathroom were spacious, the bed was super comfortable, the wifi was fast and reliable, the breakfast was really delicious and full of different options! A couple of suggestions: it might be nice to have a shoe-polishing machine somewhere, especially for those travelling for work. and perhaps a few herbal tea options in the room would be great too. Thank you very much for the awesome stay.
I absolutely loved my stay here. The rooms were clean, staff were friendly, they provided an amazing breakfast that was included with the the room, and best of all is I was able to check in early when I arrived straight from the airport after a red-eye. Excellent location on busy street with lots of options. Luggage storage available, solid/reliable WIFI, would HIGHLY recommend!
AMAZING! I was able to check-in and get a room mid-morning after my red-eye arrived! I was dreading waiting in the hotel lobby for a room with a later check-in, but I didn't have to! Not here! There were able to put me in my room straight away which was INCREDIBLE! Very friendly and accommodating English speaking staff! The place is clean, has good toiletries, hot water, wonderful bed linen, is quiet, there's taxi cab station right outside the hotel. It's only 6 euro to go to Madrid's Museum of Fine Arts in a taxi. It's on a street that has all the high-end shops, a block away from Starbucks. The price was good and included an EXCELLENT breakfast. Very large assortment of hot and cold buffet. I particularly loved the little pan of peas and meat! Wonderful beet and apple juice combo. WIFI is reliable and strong. Nice sitting areas both inside and outside the hotel. Not a huge hotel, but more than sufficient. They even have a restaurant with a fixed price menu of appetizer, entree and dessert choices for only 25 euro, and it's really unique Spanish flare! Very impressive for such a small establishment! The only thing that I can think of to improve would be softer towels and toilet paper, but honestly - it wasn't the worst! There's not much to any downside here at this amazing boutique hotel! Just great 5 stars!
I had a wonderful time in Madrid and this is a very special hotel. Location couldn’t be better, the rooms are comfortable and clean, nice bed and I had an amazing terrace. Breakfast surprised me! Very good and tasteful. Special mention to the staff, always making us feel at home and helpful! Thanks Noemi and Victor! I’ll definitely be back!
