The room we had was very big, comfortable and beautiful. We had a separate room with the closet, a separate small living room with a sofa, tv and a working table, a nice big bed room with TV and a pretty bathroom. Everything was clean. The service was good but not amazing. The are is good, public transport can be reached within 3-4 minutes by walk.
Please be aware that the room you book may not be the room you receive. We booked a standard double room, but were given a room with a very unusual bathroom layout that offered almost no privacy. The bathroom had a window in the wall facing the bedroom, meaning you could see each other while showering, which was extremely uncomfortable (see picture). On top of that, the bathroom door was made of glass and did not close properly at all. No matter how we tried to close it, it would slowly swing back and remain slightly open. This was especially awkward because the toilet was directly behind the gap in the door (see the photo of my friend sitting on the toilet for illustration). What bothered us even more, however, was how the situation was handled. When we went to the front desk to explain that the room did not match the photos on the booking site, we were met with what felt like gaslighting. We showed the staff member the listing photos, which clearly depicted a room with a normal bathroom layout, yet she repeatedly insisted that all rooms were like ours and that there was nothing they could do. Our concerns were simply dismissed rather than acknowledged. If privacy is important to you, don’t book this hotel.
Sadly although in general quite a decent hotel and room, I was on the road with normal apartments and it was refuse collection night. So I was woken up 3 times between midnight and 2:30am, and then by the street sweepers at 7:30am. Front of house staff could do with being a touch less surly too, the other staff I chatted to were very pleasant.
Family holiday for 4, notice that it was extremely hard to find a family room for Spain 🇪🇸, unless you wanted to spend extra on 2 rooms in which I did not want. I’ve managed to find this place, it was nice, tidy hotel with spacious room, ( the main bedroom bed was massive) location wise it was perfect, close to metro 🚇 station + the added convenience of the bus 🚌 station a few minutes away too 👍🏻, plus plenty of shops surrounding the hotel too! Highly recommended for any family who sort after the one room option to save money 💰
As a business traveller, I look for location, comfort and service. The former is good enough for it top be preferred choice. But the service is what makes it exceptional. Maria at the front desk is why I give this hotel 5 stars. Due to some miscommunication, my work booked me in the wrong type of room. She went out of her way to resolve the problem - i was staying for 7 nights so it mattered. And she solved the problem. With that, now I sure to return here when I am back in Madrid in a few months.
