It's a great base for sightseeing. The staff was polite and definitely a major highlight of our stay. The location makes sightseeing effortless because everything is close by, allowing you to easily explore the whole city. However, there were some significant downsides. The extra sofa bed was flimsy, loud, stained, and incredibly hard to sleep on. As for the pool area, it looks much better in photos, but for us, the main issue was the opening hours. It officially closes early at 8 pm, meaning you completely miss the chance to unwind there after a full day of exploring the city.
We spent 5 night in a 2-bedroom apartment here. It was very pleasant stay. The location is strategic – near the major transport hub of Atocha train station, and also with good connection to the city center by metro line 3. There are a lot of eating options and some supermarkets close to the hotel. Moreover, the Retiro Park, the Reina Sofía museum are also within short walking distance. The apartment itself was spotless - very clean, very spacious, well maintained. We had plenty of room to stretch out and relax. The kitchen and living area were also fully equipped with high-quality appliances and all the essentials, making it easy to cook a meal and feel right at home. We will definitely be staying here again!
Very functional apartment in an interesting part of Madrid. You can escape the Gran Via crowds and enjoy quieter places. Less than 10 minutes' walk, though, to Atocha train station, plus an easy walk to Museo del Prado, the Reina Sofia museum, and the archaeology museum, as well as Retiro Park. The number 3 Metro line is a few blocks away. More importantly, there is a fantastic market (fish, meat, vegetables, cheese) nearby. The apartment's kitchen is equipped with almost everything you need to cook what's at the market, plus a dishwasher and a large refrigerator with a freezer. Very quiet inside the hotel. I was initially concerned because my room was beside the elevator, but there are very few rooms per floor -- which limits elevator noise (and humans-exiting-the-elevator noise). The air conditioning was excellent, the bed was comfortable, and the water pressure was fine. The Wi-Fi worked well and there were more TV options than I could use. I enjoyed my balcony very much. The staff were very nice, understanding, and provided anything I needed (such as an extra towel or two), as well as directing me to luggage lockers for early arrivals. My only wish would be that the Reception would open earlier and stay open later -- but it seems these days that a traveler is lucky to find a Reception Desk at all, so Eric Vokel's arrangement is certainly better than nothing. If I return to Madrid, I would hope to stay here again.
Very clean and spacious, with plenty of food provided in the breakfast basket and refrigerator. We were pleasantly surprised to find a washer in the unit, and the hotel even included laundry detergent in the cleaning kit—very thoughtful. We only stayed one night but wished we could have stayed longer.
