The shower has a half door, which makes it impossible to keep from getting water on floor. Not sure whose bright idea that was, but it seems the European hotels have all jumped on yhat wagon. Also, we did not receive coffee only tea bags. The bed is very comfortable and the room is spacious and clean. The breakfast is as expected for buffet style.
Nicely located hotel near Atocha station. I booked the standard king room for 5 nights. Because I am a Titanium member I got upgraded to a suite on day 2. It was beautiful and very clean. If I was to split hairs, I'd say the water pressure in the shower could use some work. But other than that, I would definitely recommend staying here. Rates are very affordable. The gym is very small but has free weights up to 25kg and also has a multi purpose cable machine. If you need a full on gym, there are several in the area that offer day passes.
I am literally baffled by the positive reviews this hotel gets. I rate it as the worst hotel I have stayed in Madrid. I'm shocked this is a Marriot branded hotel. 1. First day check in I cannot order food because the cooker is broken. Long flight and I just want food and go to bed. 2. Aircon broken in my room. Came to fix it 3 times and after 1.5 hours of messing around I get offered a new room. 3. The lifts are tiny. Can fit maybe 2 people max. Have to wait for some time if you have a queue for the lifts. 4. The breakfast has barely anything in it. It's extremely poor for what they charge. 5. I lost count of how many times the key card stopped working. With the lift being so poor it is a hassle going up and down each time to get it activated. I would not stay in this hotel ever again. There is so much wrong with it and the price they charge per room is simply not worth it.
Great location! Great service! If youre traveling in from the airport, its very easy to get to via train or bus. Atocha train station is steps away (even had time to sprint back for a forgotten item) for any high speed train trips or metro rides.
Absolutely loved staying at the AC Hotel Carlton while visiting Madrid. The hotel staff were super accommodating and kind. We arrived super early to the hotel (8:30am) and asked if we would be able to check in early and they had a room ready for us. We were able to nap for hours before hitting the streets to explore. The room was very spacious and clean. The location of the hotel was perfect. Minutes away from the metro and walking distance to all of the tourists attractions. Would highly recommend this hotel!
