1881 Madrid Ventas Hotel

We loved this hotel! The staff was so kind. Speak English. Answer all your questions kindly. The room was quiet and spotless. They quickly brought us extra pillows moments we asked. Complimentary water, tea, coffee. A small fridge. The bed was comfy even for me at 6 feet tall! What a great experience!

Great place and a tremendous overall experience! All hotel staff members were very nice, they helped us every way they could have. Room was very clean, air conditioning was working really well, which was very important because of the weather outside the hotel during our stay (which was sunny and the temperatures varied from 32°C to 36°C). We had everything we needed in a very good price considering the quality of the hotel and how close it is from the metro. We also want to thank the receptionist, who is a really neat man and easily got us in a good mood before the world cup finals. Viva España! We'll surely come back to Madrid after this stay. ((:

Overall, we had a very pleasant stay, but there was one small detail that left us a bit disappointed. We asked if two empty glasses could be brought to our room, and we were informed that there would be a €5 charge for this service. It is not about the money at all—we would have been more than happy to leave the same amount (or even more) as a tip for the staff member. However, charging a fixed fee for such a simple request feels unnecessarily petty and somewhat out of place for a hotel of this standard. We hope you might consider reviewing this policy, as it is often the small gestures of hospitality that leave the strongest and most lasting impression on guests.

Very Spacious and clean room. Breakfast is good as well. Variety of choices everyday. I love the location because the metro station is just few mins.away so it’s very easy to move around the city.
