The full day central tour was the first tour that we did with Miguel and it was amazing. Picked up from our hotel and taken in an open top 4x4 up some of the steepest hills and seeing the most spectacular views. This tour is perfect if you don't know where to start with Madeira and want to see a few things in one day. We were able to tick of quite a few places we have wanted to visit as well as lots of extras. It is planned perfectly and with care! Miguel takes you to places that other people don't get access to and shows you the real Madeira. We were taken around farms and shown all the different fruits that they grow. Miguel is very knowledgeable and makes the tour really interesting. Miguel takes you to a local bar where you can try freshly made poncha (which is very strong!) and also takes you to a beautiful restaurant where you can have traditional espetada. Miguel also plans a short Levada walk where you can go off in your group and follow the water. The tour is very varied and each place you stop at offers you a completely different view and experience. If you are looking to explore more of Madeira and don't know where to start then I would 100% recommend Miguel.

Itinerary
Your private tour begins at the Port (On any cruise line), in my UMM (open classic ex-army Portuguese jeep - it has a cover also for all weather conditions), at a time appropriate to your schedule. Get ready to be amazed by panoramic views and explore the heart of nature, while learning all about Madeira's traditions and history. You will have the opportunity of riding in a very relaxed safari-style tour, going to places that you just have to see! We`ll take you off the beaten track, whenever possible, through old roads & off-road, in really remote places, hidden valleys and villages lost in the mountains, so you can see the wild beauty of the island, all done in a very calm safe and relaxed way. Along our route we will stop at all the good photo opportunities, on an exciting open jeep ride, enjoying various experiences, awakening all your senses. At the end of the tour you will want to return and stay longer on my paradise :)
We will pass through the narrow and charismatic streets of Funchal. Along the way, we will pass very close to the Barreiros stadium, a local club where we can enjoy a magnificent landscape of the center of Funchal. Stopping in all the good photo opportunities, in a thrilling open top jeep ride, standing up when possible, learning about our island fauna, flora and social life!
We will cross the Center of Funchal towards the high areas of Funchal, and along the route we will make several stops for photos.
We will go to places you never imagined could exist, we will see the REAL MADEIRA, where most people live... We will enter the rugged mountains and valleys of Câmara de Lobos, passing through the wine region of Estreito de Câmara de Lobos. Along the way (ancient paths), up the hill, we will make several stops for photos or explanations, being able to contemplate a fantastic scenery of banana trees or vineyards (this route seems painted in green or bronze). The vines testify to the deep relationship between man and nature, in a communion of hard but beautiful work. Stopping in all the good photo opportunities, always in relaxed atmosphere, far from the beaten track. After we keep going up to Faja das Galinhas viewpoint (700m) with an amazing view, where we will make another stop (15m)
Along our ascent we will make some stops to explore the local banana plantations, vineyards and levada walk
From here we will be able to see Curral das Freiras (Nuns Valley), village nestled on one of the many volcanic craters, which originated the Island. The village is so named as it is believed that it was the place chosen by a group of nuns to take shelter from the attacks of pirates and corsairs.
After off-road, we will make a stop at a very local place for a drink, where you can taste a homemade Madeira wine or a Poncha (optional) This town is characterized by a fertile land of cherries. It is the only place on the island where this red fruit exists and that is why every year a festival, which attracts thousands of visitors, is celebrated in his honor.
After off-road, If the weather permits, we will have the opportunity to walk in a small section of one of the famous levadas of Madeira Island, although not touristy. It will be time for stretching the legs, on one of the many unique water canals of Madeira.
We will find an incredible view (700 meters high) difficult to describe. We will be able to enjoy the view to all Funchal and Fajã das Galinhas (Chickens village)
On the road again (After lunch), the next visiting point will the Cabo Girão, Europe’s highest sea cliff, with its 580mts of altitude hanging over the ocean. This is a perfect spot to admire the diversity of the natural beauty of the island. After that, we will descend until finally reaching the blue sea, with the colorful boats typical of Câmara de Lobos, that rest of the fishing. Along the way, we will cross several plantations, where we can see several tropical fruits, mixed with sugar cane, banana trees, etc…
After coffee break and crossing all the cherry and chestnut plantations, towards, we will do another off-road where we will have to cross the vineyards of a company called Henrique & Henriques, located on the top of the mountain, where we will be able to contemplate wonderful landscapes
From here we will be able to see Curral das Freiras (Nuns Valley), village nestled on one of the many volcanic craters, which originated the Island. The village is so named as it is believed that it was the place chosen by a group of nuns to take shelter from the attacks of pirates and corsairs. The warning of an unforgettable trip that, at this point, is done through off road trails towards Jardim da Serra (coffee stop), land of cherries and chestnut trees, journey of the senses as the intense perfumes (fragrant mimosa and eucalyptus) of the forest and the utter calmness of the cultivated fields overwhelms us.
We will make the last brief stop, in the famous town called Lido, with spectacular scenery. This is where most 5 star hotels are located
After walking in a Levada enjoying amazing views, we will make a stop for lunch, in a family-owned restaurant. (Lunch – optional extra, not included in price and highly recommended).
After that we will visit the picturesque fishing village, called Câmara de lobos, located west of Funchal
We will stop at the viewpoint of Doca do Cavacas, where we can contemplate the the famous natural volcanic swimming pools & Formosa Beach

Miguel was very responsive to all our questions and very knowledgeable. It was our first visit Madeira so we didn’t know what to expect. We travelled as 2 couples and our tour to the Northeast side of Madeira was tailor made for our needs. Fun, exciting, friendly, and a delicious regional lunch. A wonderful day!
Fabulous day out with Miguel in the UMM , loved going to places that weren’t full of tourists. Felt very safe and well looked after at all times. Miguel was very knowledgeable and advised us on the best tour for the day given the weather and it was perfect. We did see the real Maderia. And we loved the stops for Poncha 🥰🥰. I would highly recommend Miguel. We all laughed the whole trip and made memories to last a lifetime.
Unfortunately we weren’t able to do the Wild West Tour due to the weather. We appreciated very much that Miguel explained us the weather situation and suggested to change to the different tour. And we learned a lot about Madeira and its people and how they live. We had a lot of fun with Miguel driving through the countryside. The lunch place was delicious, so was the poncha break. And the landscape was beautiful. We will definitely do another tour when we come back. Anyways, we still need to do the original one🙃
Having spent a week in Funchal one of the highlights of our trip was an open top jeep tour hosted by Miquel. He picked us up at our apartment and headed for the hills of Madeira. We had the experience to walk some of the levados, noting all the amazing fruits growing along the hillsides, taken to a bar where we witnessed the making of the local drink ‘Poncha’, which was delicious, ate at a great restaurant serving typical food of Madeira whilst looking over an amazing valley. Miguel was a great host in that he took us off the main tourist routes to experience a very authentic Madeira whilst keeping us up to speed with our surroundings and it’s history. We had an amazing day and would highly recommend Miguel as a tour guide and hopefully will return again and visit another part of Madeira. Thanks Miguel for sharing your time and knowledge with us
Best way to see, to feel, to taste and to smell real Madeira - with Miguel. We with Miguel traveled around the island 2 days (we booked 2 tours), it definitely didn`t disappoint, we visited places we hadn`t read about in any tourist guides or seen on YouTube. Although we saw a lot, walked along the levadas, where we passed two lost and unable to find way tourists and one rabbit (we didn't meet anyone else), there was no rush. And our daughter (she's 7 years old) the most liked riding the jeep standing up :) Pats geriausias būdas pamatyti, pajausti, paragauti ir net pauostyti tikrąją Madeirą - kartu su Migeliu.
We had an amazing time on our jeep tour through central Madeira with Miguel! From start to finish, he was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly friendly. Miguel has a real passion for the island, and it showed in the way he shared stories, history, and local insights throughout the journey. He took us to stunning viewpoints and hidden spots we never would have found on our own. The ride itself was fun and adventurous, but always felt safe thanks to his skill behind the wheel. Highly recommend this experience — especially with Miguel as your guide. Thank you for a memorable day!
As a family of four with two children of 4 and 7 we took the Central tour. We would recommend everyone visiting the island to book a jeep tour with Miguel because we believe it is a whole other, authentic, experience than other jeep tours. Miguel really knows the island and where to go for good food and good views. He also has a lot of information about the culture and agriculture of the island. Great memories of this day!!
Miguel was brilliant. Really informative and knew all the best places to go, away from all the other tour operators. Great off-roading too!
Thank you miguel for a great day out. You gave us lots of information and a really great tour - especially the off road bit ! We will ge back again we hope.
Miguel took us to spectacular views, mountain farms and vineyards, and back country dirt roads. We had the levada walk all to ourselves. We also stopped at a village café for poncha (made fresh) and coffee. Later he took us to a local mountainside restaurant for espetadas (the place was packed with locals) and even called ahead so we could have a window table. Along the way he gave us plenty of practical information about the island. A very satisfying tour - we can truly recommend.
We had a fabulous day with Miguel. He was delightful, gave us a wonderful tour of the island, provided tons of suggestions and history - and above all - without all the tourist crowds! We would definitely go on another tour with Miguel. Thank you for such a fabulous time and experience.
Miguel provided our family a lifetime memory. His trip was fun, educational, and beautiful. Away from the tourist areas he took us to see and experience Madeira as it is by the locals. He took time to explain for our kids and made it engaging for them. A great trip for young and old and the best I can say is that my kids didn’t want it to end and asked if we could go again tomorrow.
I loved this tour and si happy I booked it! Miguel is a fantastic tour guide, extremely knowledgeable and fun. He took us to some amazing spots in Madeira that would have been difficult to access and very non touristic. His Jeep is really cool and felt safe throughout the wholes daytrip. We maximised time properly and managed to see a lot within a few hrs. He’s also taken us to some amazing places to eat and local coffee places high up in the mountains . Don’t hesitate in booking Miguel’s tours. He is simply amazing
We had an amazing day with Miguel! He showed us so much of the local culture, how locals do agriculture, explained about the levadas, exotic fruits, showed us amazing forests, views and places. Also he took us to the most delicious place to drink ponchal and an amazing lunch. I would recommend starting your trip with a tour by Miguel, so you can really get the feeling of how much Madeira really has to offer! It was one of my favourite days there! We will definitely be back to Madeira and definitely will take a tour with Miguel next time we come! Thanks for the best trip ever!!!
The tour was excellent seeing the real Madeira away from the tourist areas. Miguel is great fun answering any questions About anything on the tour. We would recommend any of Miguel’s tours, as this is the third one we have enjoyed.
This is one of the best tours we have experienced in Madeira. Driving to locations that you could not do in a car. Spectacular views along the way and off road sections which were both exhilarating and fun. Miguel was a great driver and a source of information from the local fuana to the best restaurants in the area. I would highly recommend this tour.
A great day with Miguel. His knowledge of the island and its plants is amazing, as is his ability to find tiny roads and footpaths that get you into the heart of rural Madeira. One of the real delights of this trip is to look down on Nun’s Valley, a real tourist hot-spot, from the OTHER side of the valley, well away from tour buses and full car parks, up in the fresh air and eucalyptus trees. You can get cheaper 4x4 tours, but you will struggle to find better. And Miguel has a lovely friendly personality - we first met him over 10 years ago - that you will find your day relaxing, interesting - and give you some fantastic pictures. Can’t recommend him enough.
Miguel showed us some amazing places that we would have missed. The beauty of this tour is that you experience Madeira like a local, off the beaten path, away from the tourist crowds. A super fun day. Thank you Miguel!
A brilliant full day tout. Breathtaking vistas and the excitement of travelling in an open top jeep off road. Party included two eighteen year olds and a seventy four year old and we all ❤️ it.
I really did my homework with choosing our tour guide/experience. We have no regrets. Miguel is extremely thorough, entertaining, knowledgeable, and witty. And at the end, he sent a bunch of pictures that he took, and I didn’t even know he took some of us walking… Just incredible. Highly recommend!
Such a wonderful tour, glad we decided to book with Miguel! Excellent communication prior to the tour, super friendly and knowledgeable. Highlights for us we're walking along the levadas and stopping for coffee/poncha in the mountains.
Our family of three took Miguel’s 6 hour Private Central Tour and we would highly recommend his services. Whether you are new to Madeira Island or have visited multiple times; his tour was very informative and Miguel’s knowledge of the island is top notch. We took the road less traveled by traditional tours and were rewarded with amazing views and new places. His prices were reasonable, and we were surprised to get a nice video of our trip at the end. We will utilize Miguel’s tours in the future as we explore this beautiful island. Rewarding experience!!
Our tour with Miguel was one of the highlights of our trip! We had a wonderful day touring Funchal, seeing spectacular views, and best of all avoiding many of the congested tourist areas. We booked the tour directly with Miguel. He communicated by WhatsApp and set up a time and place to rendez-vous with us on the day our cruise boat was to arrive. He provided a wealth of information on the island while driving us through Funchal. He highlighted the local sites and flora, and did multiple stops to take pictures. We stopped at a local restaurant for Espadatas and had a spectacular view overlooking the city. We also had time to walk along a beautiful lavada taking us through a tunnel and opening up to an incredible views of the island. We really enjoyed our time on this tour. Miguel certainly delivered and throughout all of it, we rarely had to contend with other tourists, it was truly wonderful. Thank you Miguel!
I came across Miguel watching a video on YouTube whilst doing some research on things to do in Maderia for our up coming holiday. From the moment I booked the tour Miguel was always sending updates on the weather and advice on which tour to do. We choose the private full day central tour and we really did see the Real Maderia! Winding roads, Levadas, plantations unbelievable views, off road adventure it was breathtaking . We also meet the most lovely, friendly local people from farmers to shop and bar owners (who even sang happy birthday to me in Portuguese) and who also made the best Poncha ever!! We stopped for a glorious lunch we spectacular views and great food. But it’s Miguel who makes the tour with his bubbly enthusiasm and passion about Maderia providing so much information and history about the Island and also taking you off the tourist routes. I highly recommend booking a jeep tour with Miguel if you ever visit the beautiful island of Maderia, we will certainly be booking again next year.. Thanks Miguel a birthday to Remeber!
Miguel is a exceptional guide who's friendly personality makes you feel like you have known him for years. He has fantastic knowledge of the Island; its best spots, its history and culture. He made us laugh as soon as we got into the jeep and never once rushed us, allowed us lots of time for photos and walks. He likes to avoid major touristy areas in order to maximise your enjoyment of the tour and offers incredible insight into how the Maderian's live. I can't recommend Miguel highly enough, will be rebooking as soon as we get back to Maderia!
This is my second trip with Miguel and I booked it as a private tour for a friends’s birthday - Miguel makes it so special - aside from being a wonderful man, full of positivity energy and kindness, his professionalism and love for Madeira shines through with everything he shows and shares. He took us places only he as a local would go, we met a local farmer who, after my friend asked if she could help ‘dig’ his banana plants, invited us back to his house to share some local poncha he made to say happy birthday! How fab! The views, the company the tour were such super fun - we didn’t stop grinning - don't book with anyone else if you want to see and experience the real Madeira - it’s wonderful! Thank you Miguel x
WOW! What a fabulous trip this was...if you want to see and experience the true Madeira hospitality....it all starts with Miguel....his knowledge of Madeira and its delights off the normal touristy traps is phenomenal....from introducing us to village life, the plantations (so many bananas!😆) and various mix of tropical fruit and vegetables, the 100s of levada walks to be taken, the traditional drink of poncha ....and even some homebred from a local villager... 😬🤪 the best mountain views to blow your mind and off road in the hills....Miguel you are the perfect host.. thank you for making my day so special
If you are considering a jeep tour in Madeira wanting to visit remote places seldomly visited by any tourist or minibuses, enjoying breathtaking views from places unknown to most tourists, cheering at thrilling off-road rides on steep and narrow roads and paths Miguel would certainly be the person to approach! In his green, sturdy army jeep Miguel took us out in the far wild west, way out where roads end - if they ever were there! - and together with our two fellow riders we decided where to go weather depending. We encountered wide, wide views, remote levada bits, and details in the differences of bananas and mangos, what the two fat pigs were fed, and how the local people enjoy their puncha! and much more. Miguel's love for his island and respect for its hard working people added a certain dimension to the trip. Our next jeep tour in Madeira will definitely be with Miguel at the wheel in his good old jeep! We never felt unsafe!
This was about our 10th trip with Miguel. It was a bit of an experiment as Miguel had not taken people to this location for years. Inaccessible for many of the Discovery & other soft-roader vehicles. Our trip took us to 1600m at Trompica giving us views north to São Vicente & east across Curral das Freiras towards the highest peaks. Completely deserted bar a couple of walkers (I have no idea how they got there) & a lone farmer. There is an art to riding the bumps in such extreme terrain but that adds to the experience giving you a surfing like work out while enjoying the views & the commentary. Miguel clearly loves the island & his work; he smiles so much his face must ache at the end of a working day! The full day trips always include great local bars & restaurants, this time a post workout Poncha in Boa Morte (Good Death!) & beef skewers at the Miradouro restaurant looking down on Camara de Lobos & Funchal. The private tours are tailored to the individual clients, guided by the weather & personal fitness but beware if you have severe musculoskeletal problems; no suspension can compensate for Madeira in its purest but rugged form. It’s great value for a group of four or more, still good value for couples if you like privacy & still want to keep safe from Covid. If you have any anxieties then ask to stop for Poncha before reaching the mountains; nothing cures vertigo or joint pains like a rural, freshly made Poncha Regional or Pescador!
We took 2 Full Day private tours with Miguel on May 2 and May 8, 2022. On the first day we did the northern and eastern part of the island and the northern and western part on the second day. From the moment of pickup, Miguel was so professional, explaning the plan for the day (fluid) and showing us on map where we hoped to go. Prior to visiting Madeira, we had a perception that is was fundamentally a sun destination with little more to offer. How mistaken were we. Miguel introduced us to a paradise where nature is king. From the lofty mist enshrouded heights of Pico do Ariero, to wild rocky beachs and headlands, and to the magnificent abundance of the Laurisilva forest, it is hard to believe that one is in Europe. Miguel gives a detailed but pithy explanation of what one is seeing and because so much of trip is off main roads and cross country, one can gain a real understanding of Madeira and its people - present and past. The area around Funchal is a nodal point for tourism in Madeira and one could be anywhere in the world - thanks to Miguel, we were introduced to so so much more. We stopped for coffee and lunch in small , out of the way places where we saw only locals. We could have gone canyonining, wild smimming , hiking and so much more - we didnt choose to on this occasion, but will be back and have no doubt Miguel will take us to the most remote places. We are so grateful to him for showing us his Madeira and for all the additional information he gace us regarding restaurant s etc etc.
We had such a wonderful day with Miguel exploring the Northwest. The whole tour felt very personalised and we saw so much of the island including off the beaten track places without others around. Considering how much we did over the course of one day we never felt rushed. Miguel is so knowledgeable and passionate about his love of Madeira. Would definitely recommend Miguel as the best tour we did in Madeira and would not hesitate in booking again in future.
Miguel was fantastic. His positivity and enthusiasm for life was infectious. It is not a touristy tour; it is a tour of the real Madeira! Thank you Miguel! We will be back and we will definitely contact you again. Keep living life!
This tour was amazing. Miguel is the best tour guide ever. He really took the time to show us the real Maderia. We never went on the regular path. He took us through the towns, taught us about the local agriculture, showed us all of the hidden gems. This was a day that we will never forget. He went over the top to give us recommendations for all of the things locals do so that we could navigate around the touristy areas that we preferred to avoid. I would recommend him to anyone that is looking for the best time!! This by far was my favorite vacation of all time and Miguel took it over the top. Thank you Miguel, and we hope to see you when you travel to the states!! Our home will be open to you any time that you come!! Thank you!
Miguel is a wealth of knowledge. Generous of spirit & an incredible guide to this day’s adventure. His knowledge of the island is above & beyond! Every sight an experience unto itself. Cannot recommend this experience enough. AMAZING. AWESOME. A must do if you are here. Thank you Miguel!
Miguel was recommended to us by a friend. Initially booked a day trip with Miguel, however on meeting him, Miguel explained that the weather in the mountains, was very poor, rain and mist which reduced the visibility and suggested an alternative half day. Miguel was very knowledgeable and spent time explaining how the locals worked the land, what was grown, and the various sites. We stopped at a fishing village and the glass floor viewing platform. Miguel also took us to a viewing site frequented by the locals which enabled us to have a good view across the mountains and Nuns Valley. We stopped at small village and saw how poncha was made and of course we had to sample it. The off-road experience was fun. We had a great time and would recommend Miguel.
Miguel is the best around !! He is an all around amazing driver ! He knows so much and he really made our trip amazing. I wouldn’t book a trip with anyone else . Thank you so much Miguel for such an amazing tour we will remember forever !
Imagine calling up your best friend and telling them you are visiting Madeira. They tell you they're going to pick you up and take you all over the island, exactly the way a local would, show you the hidden spots and hang out. This is what the Miguel Is Here experience is like! Miguel is super fun and great to hang out with, very knowledgable about the island, and takes so much pride in making sure his clients have the best possible experience. Can't wait to come back, Miguel!
Booked a private full day tour with Miguel and I can definitely say that it's worth it. Amazing route, less touristic areas, breathtaking views, Miguel is an amazing guide. If you come to Madeira and don't book a tour with him you can't say you've actually seen the real Madeira which is fantastic. Thank you for the experience Miguel and we hope we'll meet again soon
Booked the full day private 4 x 4 tour with Miguel and enjoyed every minute! Miguel picked us up at our hotel and explained exactly what we would be doing and where we would be going. Miguel used the most scenic routes to ensure we experienced the most majestic scenery and stopped to point out anything worth knowing. Miguel was engaging and passionate about his island and that really helped us get into the spirit of the day. The heights, the views, and the routes blew us away and it was far more than we thought it would be For lunch, Miguel took us to a local restaurant where we enjoyed a feast of local cuisine and walked around a traditional Madeira house over 200 years old! Miguel ensured we made the most of every minute and the fun part of being able to stand and see the views as we drove was truly amazing ( you could sit if you prefer) To end the day Miguel took us to a local bar for a toast with the local Poncha drink which rounded off a truly spectacular day Miguel is amazing, his trip is amazing and we would definitely recommend a trip with him when in Madeira
What an incredible day we had with Miguel, we booked last minute (2 days before) however Miguel was very helpful and flexible! We got picked up directly from our hotel and straight away felt very lucky to be with a highly knowledgeable and friendly guide! Miguel is very passionate about his job and it reflects with the tours that he does, we had such an amazing day. Our tour was to the North West to the natural springs in Porto Moniz, with a lovely lunch and time spent swimming at an incredible location. We also stopped off for a morning coffee and short Levada walk, throughout Miguel used his local knowledge and took us away from the usual tourist routes for a wonderful authentic trip. I would 100% recommend Miguel for any trip you are planning, we will definitely be booking with him again when we return to this beautiful island!
If you want to experience madeira in the best way possible, you can’t choose anyone else then Miguel. He knows all the stunning spots which the big tour corporations won’t go to. His knowledge about every spot is amazing. You will get a tour from someone who loves this Island, gives you the full experience and will surprise you every time. Oh, and he recommends the best poncha bars on the way so you can taste it. @Miguel, thank you so much, see you soon!!
Miguel is here is an excellent choice to meet "wild" Madeira. Miguel, the safari guide is very friendly and helpful. Me and my friends had this safari last week and it was a wonderful trip. We could know the true adventure spirit of Madeira Island. I definitely recommend "Miguel is here" 😊🌄
Fantastic day, one we will remember without a doubt. We had somewhat high expectations and Miguel delivered! Miguel shows genuine interest and care in planning the tours, It's obvious that this is not just a business for him, checking the weather and webcams he spent a lot of his time advising and planning the tour with us, being honest and forthcoming. On the actual tour Miguel was great, it was like having a road trip with a friend, he is full of energy and really helped make the day so good, we saw a lot of rural Madeira that we wouldn't have otherwise seen, the whole day was buckets of fun and a must for anyone coming to Madeira. Overall it was amazing and we also made a friend.
I would firstly like to thank Miguel for catering to every part of our needs, he went the extra mile checking the weather and communicating with us before the tour to make sure everything was perfect. He is such a kind gentle soul, it was like being with your friend for the day. He took us around the north west side of the island which is impossible to get to without a car, we were able to go off road and see so many beautiful parts of the island whilst he educated us about madeira. The whole day was so memorable and I would recommend to anyone that comes here to do a private tour with Miguel you’ll have the best day!
Miguel was a great host, we had a lot of laughs! He took us off the beaten track so we enjoyed and experienced far and above the 'average tours' - we went off track and did some really enjoyable and different off roading - he was concerned about our enjoyment throughout, took us to a lovely restaurant for a superb lunch which none of the other tours visited!! We attended some 'out of the way' attractions which we thouroughly enjoyed and took us to some very different places - the local bars Poncha was great on the way back - highly recommended!
What a truly remarkable day. We met at 9am for our private tour and almost immediately went off the beaten track with Miguel in his ex army 4x4. We climbed roads I thought no car could get up, went to places I would never have found and all the while Miguel was telling us about the island the crops the plants the places to see the best places to eat or drink, answering any and all questions. We stopped at a little local cafe with amazing views for morning coffee, drove through rainforest to the top of the island, had a very good lunch, and a little of the local poncha. Miguel has a detailed knowledge of the island, and can tailor the trip to your needs. For example we wanted to take photos above the clouds, he took a look at the mountains, decided on a place to go and we were off along a trail climbing until we had stunning views above the clouds. We had the best day on the island and saw views and made memories we will never forget.
Incredible tour and Highly Recommended ! We researched thoroughly before arriving in Madeira and we made the right choice . From start to finish Miguel was a Superstar . Great communication , polite and organised . We spent a full day exploring the South of the island in the fabulous Jeep with Miguel . Taking in rare scenery and sights off the beaten track . Miguel is very knowledgeable about the local area and the island in general , taking photos along the way and sharing some great stories with us . He also recommended several places to eat and drink for our vacation and I’m writing this review sat in one now drinking a Tangerine Poncha ! . We really had a fabulous day , trust us you cannot make a mistake booking Miguel is Here . Many Thanks Mark and T .
Highlight of our trip to Madeira! Miguel was very knowledgable and really took great care of us during our amazing tour.
Great day trip with Miguel. We visited a lot of beautiful parts of Madeira, the views were breathtaking, the discovery of the island was amazing. Miguel was a really friendly guide, very patient, helpful, caring of us and teaching us a lot of things.
