An Unforgettable Westside Tour in Madeira, Victor, You Are Simply the Best! We had the pleasure of experiencing the Westside tour of Madeira with Victor, and honestly, I cannot recommend him enough. He is, without a doubt, the best tour guide I have ever had! Victor is caring, funny, respectful, and incredibly attentive to everyone. Even the little things show what kind of person he is. For example, whenever we were getting into the car, he would gently put his hand above our heads to make sure we didn’t hit the roof. It’s these small gestures that tell you how much he genuinely cares about the people he is guiding. And when it comes to knowledge, Victor is almost like a professor! He knows absolutely everything and anything about Madeira. Throughout the trip, we learned so much about the island’s culture, plants, climate, and history. From the arrival of the Portuguese to the island to the fascinating stories behind when, why, and how the different fortresses were built, Victor made history come alive. You could ask him almost anything, and he always had an interesting answer. What we especially appreciated was how flexible and relaxed the entire experience was. At every stop, we were free to explore on our own, and Victor would always ask what we preferred to do. There was absolutely no rushing. He would ask, “How much time would you like here? 40 minutes or an hour?” Because he knew each location so well, he could recommend how much time was ideal. At smaller stops, he might suggest 20 minutes, but if we preferred 15, that was absolutely fine too. He made sure everyone felt comfortable and that the experience was enjoyable for the whole group. And the car rides themselves? Absolutely fantastic! Victor made every drive so much fun and effortless. He had us all laughing, and his wonderful personality created such a friendly atmosphere that even the other people in the car started chatting with each other. What began as a group of strangers turned into a lovely, friendly atmosphere filled with laughter and conversations. Victor, thank you for making our day in Madeira so memorable. You didn’t just show us the island; you made us feel welcome, taught us so much, and gave us an experience we will remember for a long time. I recommend Victor from the bottom of my heart. I really enjoyed the trip. I saw many beautiful, breathtaking places. The guide was very kind, courteous man who created a truly pleasant and friendly atmosphere. In addition to showing us many stunning places, he shared numerous interesting facts about Madeira along the way. I felt as though I wasn’t traveling with stranger, but with friend -someone who would happily grab the phone to snap a photo whenever needed :) I took part in the tour on September 14, 2026. The details on the pick-up time and address were communicated at the evening before the tour day, I would have prefered to have had this data in advance, at least in the first half of that day. Apart from that I'm happy with the event. The van was comfortable, air-conditioned. The driver was a nice man, polite and was giving comments about places visited. Can recommend.

We really enjoyed this tour. It packed in so many great stops into one day yet didn’t feel too long a day. We got back to our apartment around 4pm. The pick up and drop off to our location was much appreciated. Bruna was a fantastic guide. She knew to change up the route to make sure we wouldn’t miss out on fanal forest due to large crowds later in the day. I would recommend bringing a packed lunch for Porto Moniz so you can relax a while longer at the natural pools. It’s a tight squeeze fitting it in alongside lunch in 1hr30mins.

Fabulous day out, great driving, comfortable Mercedes minibus, room in the boot for bags ( I advise taking food with you) small group, friendly and informative guide with enough time to appreciate each stop especially the natural pools. We even had an extra stop at an amazing waterfall in a beautiful valley. I recommend this trip we got to see so much of this beautiful island without having to worry about anything !

It’s good value because they take you to many places, which is far away and difficult to reach by bus, but I feel quality is more important than quantity because you are taken to everywhere for 10-15 mins for photos, can’t really relax and the Porte Moniz only stay 1.5hrs including lunch, so after eating and queuing, I only got half hour to enjoy the water The problem is the guide, he didn’t introduce much about those places but complaining everything, he just said it’s another view point for us to take photos for instagram and tik tok. Through the day he kept complaining and making fun of tourists. He said tourists do a lot of funny things and maybe in the future, all the local people have to live in a boat and only come to island for work. he even said France is terrible and their bread is better than baguette. When I asked him to recommend restaurants he said McDonald and Burger King. I think he forgot we paid the money to enjoy trip, not listening to his complaints

It stops in quite a lot of places so there are short stops in every place. At the beginning of the day I was surprised we only had 20 minutes in Camara de lobos but it is because the whole trip takes 9 hours from 9 to 18 so there is little time. It was good to know many different places and knowing where you would dlike to comeback to explore further. Porto Moniz is a very small place, I wouldn't say is even a village but the swiming pools are great. Seixal seems a nice place to stay for some days and move around. Only bad thing was a couple in our trip that was all the time arriving late. If we had 20 minutes they took 30 and the rest of the people in the van had to wait for them and like this several times. On top they were chatting all the time non stop so because of them we couldnt hear the explanations from the driver. Very annoying people. The driver was nice. Just sorry for him because he had a bad time because of this couple.

Excellent tour which gave us a real flavour of this beautiful island. Our guide, Bruna, was perfect; she gave us an insightful running commentary and recovered the situation very well when our Mercedes proved that German engineering is not quite perfect. Loved it!

We used Icon Travel Madeira for our west coast tour and our guide was Nelson, and absolutely loved his service! The guided tour was incredibly easy, smooth, professional, and punctual. He were also very informative, sharing great local insights about Madeira along the way. The vehicle was immaculately clean and comfortable. We had a very enjoyable day with the driver and group with laughs along the way. Our guide kept us all in order, and a lot of fun along the way. Had a fantastic West Island day trip. Route was full of island highlights and guide, Nelson, was informative, flexible and fun. I highly recommend whether travelling solo, as a couple or group.

This was a great tour! The minivan was comfortable and had air-con, which was great. We got to see so much of the beautiful landscapes of Madeira. Marco was our tour guide, very knowledgeable & kind (he gave the tour in German and English, which was really impressive). I mistakenly gave the wrong location for pickup, which I felt awful about, but they picked me up anyways. Overall lovely experience, would recommend 10/10 ☀️✨

The best company I did madeira

We booked this tour as we had visited the East side on our last trip & as it was Flower Festival we couldnt find a decent hire car available. Glad we did as this covered all the places we wanted to cover and the stops we would have been difficult to park at! Great guide and comfortable van rather that rattled jeep we had last time. Would recommend, only down side was they were slow to confirm hotel pick up and timing after booking.

My first time in Madeira. Since the beginning everything was very good. Daniela pick us in the hotel, the whole trip she was very kind and lovely, explaining every single sight we had. She was very professional and very good and responsable driver. I would recommend this tour operator to whoever wants to visit all the amazing places that this beautiful island have.

They say per group in te description as to indicate separate group tour but stuff you in a mini van with 9 people whom are not in your group and make several stops to pick up all participants. They do not say per person. I selected private on viator settings. I think they are very misleading. It is not per group as indicated. Make sure private is in the wording!!! We have a handicapped person who was not able to fit in so we scrambled for an alternative.

Our guide Victor was very professional and friendly, he did his best for his group to get a good experience. The tour price was among the best on the market. Written communication from the agency could be improved, with fewer grammatical mistakes and a friendlier tone.

We went on both the East tour and the West tour. Both were excellent. Small group, Good guides that were very flexible and informative. If you don't really know what to see, this is a way to get it all presented in a comfortable way. Ask for Junio as guide if available.

Our guide was excellent and the initial stops in the south of the island were interesting and enjoyable, with good weather. However, the weather in the Fanal Forest and the north of the island was poor (as seems often to be the case), with a limited amount to see and do at each stop. The Fanal Forest was a particular disappointment, as there were relatively few trees, no clear path or signs to follow and no interpretation on the ground. Large numbers of tour groups were setting off through the fog across a muddy, rocky area. The potential for people to get lost in the fog, fall in the mud and/or have an accident amongst the rocks seemed high. So too was the potential for damage to the UNESCO World Heritage Site. The need for much improved visitor management is evident. I am pleased to have learned more about the north of the island, but I have no desire to return. It was a relief to return to the warmer, sunnier, more interesting south of Madeira.

This tour was brilliant. Our driver Victor was great and nothing was too much trouble (which is very helpful with two young children). There were lots of stops which we wouldn’t have been able to see by ourselves and the whole day was amazing. If we come back to Madeira we would definitely book again!

The driver was super nice and funny. The pickup was punctual and uncomplicated. In just one day, you could so easily discover half of the island's sights. Price-performance ratio super. I would recommend it to anyone who doesn't have that many days available.

Easy pickup at the meeting point, the guide was great! Very kind and asked the group how long we wanted to stay at the stops. Regarding the stops, very beautiful viewpoints, nothing to complain about.

It was cancelled just before the start with the implausible explanation that the gearbox was broken.

We never got away on this tour, because the organizer did not book any transport or guide to us. Very disappointed.

Done the Madeira West tour. Was very nice, the guide was very friendly. The guide was the driver and our narrator. Certain stops I didn't find very special like the skywalk (3 euro admission), there was another stop before we went to the Fanal forest after visiting the Sexial beach, was also not very special. Each stop was 20 minutes, in the Fanal forest 30 minutes. In some places this was enough in some places this was little. The lunch break lasted 2 hours. Should have been 1 hour or 1.5 hours as far as I'm concerned. We had stopped at porto Moniz for the lunch break, where the volcanic pools were. Furthermore, had a nice day (lasts about 7 hours). Definitely recommended to see the main sights in western Madeira.
